Disgusting just wasted £20 on food ive thrown in the bin

So we have been looking for a local decent Chinese for years and hadn’t used Li’s due to some of these reviews. We finally took the chance and glad we did. Food is amazing! Sweet and sour sauce tasted fresh, very citrusy and not thick and gluey like some I’ve had. Salt and pepper prawns, very tasty. Udon noodles, yum!

Our go to Chinese takeaway.. normally collect but opted for delivery tonight, took over an hour to arrive only to get seriously tough ribs and a BBQ sauce rather than the sweet & sour which is included in the set meal .. this time seriously disappointed 😞

I honestly don’t get the hate on here. Have ordered from Li’s for years and found it consistently good. I always pick up so can’t comment on delivery, but it’s my go to for Chinese.

Food was absolutely terrible, everything tasted off and bland, rubbery chicken, bad quality rice, never had a worse Chinese!

Ordered a takeaway Instore yesterday evening around 6:15. My boyfriend usually orders via JustEat but we were in the area so decided to pick up. The shop itself looks run down and to my surprise it had a peeling hygiene rating sticker on the door of 4/5 stars. We entered the store and ordered our regular order/s from the counter that remains behind covid shielding plastic, we had to speak around the side of it as the gentleman serving couldn’t hear us. We were given a 10 minute wait time which seemed very reasonable for the amount of food we ordered. The shop appeared untidy and unclean, cobwebs and damp on ceiling tiles. It’s as if Li’s Chinese mostly operates for online takeaway purposes as I feel if you were to make the mistake of picking up you’d almost certainly change to another local Chinese takeaway. Our food itself although was hot did not have any real flavour or substance to it. The food was bland, chicken balls barely any chicken, noodles no flavour, my boyfriend insists this is the only Chinese nearby that sells ‘Thai special fried rice’ and is the reason he continues to return. The takeaways portion size is alright but I’m 100% certain there are better local takeaways near by. We will not be returning/reordering from here despite my boyfriend’s desire for Thai special fried rice, I’m actually shocked at how poor the quality was considering our £30+ order. Save your money and order elsewhere. :(

This is the worst food I have Eva eaten my kids and I was very unwell straight away after eating it, I would definitely not recommend this Chinese definitely the worst I have Eva had order was also wrong just do not bother go somewhere els very bad experience

Ordered for the first time last night - the staff and delivery driver were very nice. The food arrived hot but extremely bland, no flavour at all. We got sweet &sour chicken, egg fried rise , chicken chow main, Korean wings, spring rolls and curry sauce. The only nice thing out of the whole order was the curry sauce. Would not recommend.

Disappointed no taste in any dishes, the rice was plain boiled hardly any egg no seasoning or flavour and hard, chicken was stringy and noodles plain and cold, no taste and far too much packed in, would rather less food with more flavour!! Have ordered from here for years but sadly won’t be back! 😞

Im not one to moan about food but this chinese is without a doubt the worst i have ever had im my life! We had 5/6 different dishes and they all tasted exactly the same like it was all cooked in one giant pan! Greasy bland and crunchy! Tasted of pure chip fat! Asked for the chilli beef to have no veg instead we got a box of cremated beef in batter with some weird red sauce in a seperate pot on the side didnt tastse of anything either it might have well of been ketchup! Rank all round! Prawn crackers were good and thats being generous!

Normally lovely been coming here for years but this evening everything was just watery tastless and burnt really sad....

Great little thai takeaway !! Great food

Ordered for a delivery but being Saturday was a long wait so walked up to collect. It was ready and waiting when we arrived. Got it home to it still being piping hot and absolutely delicious!! Not greasy nor fatty, just loads of flavour and tasty! Thank you!

We’ve ordered from here many times. Don’t think we’ve ever had a bad dish, missing item or late delivery. The most consistent Chinese delivery in Hoddesdon. 😁

Waited for over 1hr and 20 mins fir order to arrive. I honestly wish it hadn't. Firstly it was almost cold. Rice - thus was supposed to be special fried, it looked like plain boiled rice, no colour, no flavour or seasoning with a couple of prawns and tiny tiny bits of meat oh yes a couple of peas added. Bland is the word. Noodles - was supposed to be chicken, but if it was it was hiding under the huge amount of the onions. Again no flavour. Pork Balls -worst I've ever tried,only god knows what they contained, they tasted awful and that's being kind. Sorry but the whole meal ended up in the bin. I wasted my money. I gave a one star as that was the lowest I could score it.

Absolutely diabolical duck literally not a shred of meat on it just burnt skin, even the spring onion was very dry and yellow, satay chicken looks anaemic, no flavour at all. Very disappointed

Sadly, it has lost it. It's popularity has resulted in inefficient service. They are doing so well, they now don't care about customer satisfaction. They will lose in the end!

Terrible service. Ordered a takeaway at 6.55pm. Rang at 8.45 was told it on its way. Rang again at 9pm. Was told they will cook it now. Cancelled my order. Won’t use again

Absolute shocking what i saw in there this evening. Waited outside in the cold for over an hour to discover my order had been given to someone else. I told them I didn't want that food as this had been taken home and opened up. They turfed the curry out of the container and onto the hotplate and reheated it and was going to give this back to me to take home. Dirty dirty people think this is acceptable. Never acceptable. Not worthy of any star rating.

All the bad reviews about this chinese are true and worse. Let us down badly and wasted an hour and half waiting for food that never came!!!!!

Awful company, ordered online money taken out my bank to then be told our food isn’t coming because we live in Cheshunt but the money has already been taken! waited 45 minutes no one told us it wasn’t coming until we got in touch

Ordered from there for my mums birthday food was delivered earlier than they said and the food was very nice and would order again

Not pleasant. Would not recommend. The meat was tough and basically in a ready mix onion soup. The prawn toast was oily. And they forgot our spring rolls.

YUK YUK YUK most disgusting food ever that I have tasted, not worth the money we paid and it is too expensive for the four items that you get. Its a waste of money. My husband had two bites and then through it away as its not the best food that we have had from a chinese

Absolutely disgusting the food was cold I asked for sweet and sour sauce it was awful so were the sweet and sour prawns Hong Kong style. I also asked for stir fry veg no mushrooms instead they delivered veg in oyster sauce with mushrooms. It was so cold it was like they just got it out of the fridge. I rang to complain and the man that answered the phone kept saying what what it’s cold haha. I will be ringing environmental health.

Had a delivery tonite to celebrate with my family. Have ordered from there for years never had a problem till tonite. A young man took my ordered he was in such a hurry he kept getting it wrong three times i had to correct him and he still got it wrong and i ended having no dinner. When i rang back he wasnt very nice or helpful he told me ghere was no driver in my area and that if the driver was in my area later on he get him to drop the missing item like i said by then i wuld of finished. So thanks to that young man he ruined our nite. So i will not be ordering from u again. U need to get better staff
