Good value for money, lovely fish and chips

Ordered via an app and waited an hour for the food to be delivered. One person’s main meal item was missing. The shop was called and the response was to say ‘We’re closed. Call tomorrow’ When it was said that Just Eat would be messaged, the person on the phone just said ‘Shut up’ before hanging up. The phone just rang after that. No resolution. Just blatant rudeness. Unbelievably bad service. Total disgrace.

Used to be my favorite, go to shop. Sadly it's gone steeply downhill. Everything shifted downwards 1-2 years ago. Since then I've been given rotten pies, green sour chips, and meat that always tastes a bit off. The burgers are ridiculously greasy, the shish tastes off now, and the donner does too. I used to love the shish from here a long time ago, but it changed almost overnight into something completely unpalatable. The staff have always been nice, and I feel bad that this is the state of things. But it's been this bad for years now, and none of the management seem to care. I live local and love takeaways, so it's a shame that this one is a no-go for me now. But the main issue here isnt about taste, or money. It's about health. It's shameful that you send out the toxic waste that you do under the pretense of food. No one should support a shop that so carelessly disregards the health of its patrons.

Just bought 5 different meals, one was edible, not nice, just edible. Pie burned to hell, kids burger, with beetroot in it! Skate with every single bone still in it, donna kebab the was like rubber bands dipped in grease, chips edible, but not nice, was offered salt and vinegar, but that never happened. I wish I had read the reviews before I went in there. Avoid Avoid Avoid!

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! Soggy undercooked sausages oil running out on the plate freshly cooked roe! Again undercooked soggy and so oily! Chips were ok staff unfriendly and miserable! Will NEVER go there again shame as live very local would give no stars if i could!

Delicious freshly cooked food, accommodated adaptations for fussy eaters. Friendly and joking manner. Definitely recommend.

2nd time coming thought I give it a another go, first time 6pm poor customer service, rude told me there wasn't what I wanted and his mother said there was. Then I recieved my order. This time I've come in 8:40pm just because I wanted a regular portion of chips, he's nodding his head and says "THATS IT"opens the oven, theres was more than enough for a portion and he says not enough for you. Won't come back again for sure

I w ordered several times but lately the phone number doesn’t exist so I ordered online. Shish kebab was missing and no one to call. Total shambles will never order again as no one to complain to.

Always fresh and hot. We always get delivery, it's usually early, a few times it's been on time. Never yet been late. Very friendly staff.

Had a delivery tonight. I ordered a chicken kebab, and it came with rice and a pitta bread there was no salad or chilli sauce which had been ordered and paid for, this is the second time this has happened. I definitely will not use again!

Best fish you'll have, chips are really nice too with amazing portion size. My favourite place to grab some fish and chips, although they do have a large menu with many other nice options too!

Terrible food, terrible service. Called me a liar and said there wouldn't be any problems with their food. Told them they could collect and see for themselves. Refused to come and replace. Disgusting food burnt to crisp so much so that there was no filling in pie. Chips cold and tough. Sausage in batter soggy on outside, not convinced its cooked on inside. Never going to use them again. Suggest no one else goes there either.

Shoddy food and rubbish customer service. Avoid like the plague. Ordered this pie along with a soggy sausage in batter. The chips were cold and re heated for a while. Rang to complain and was told they would re deliver. Waited 45 minutes and rang again and was told they would deliver tomorrow. Unbelievable. No refund so far.

Man on the motorbike named john ,dropped off the food and left. Then came back to give us our drinks which we did not receive in the first place. He apologised for the fault.

We regularly purchase our F&C delivery from here with 10% discount and excellent food but tonight the fish's batter was like concrete and the chips black where they had been left out of water or oil after being peeled. I do hope this was a new chef not yet up to speed but if not their trade will drop off dramatically.Delivery service was great but shame the discount has been dropped.

This was the first (and last) time ordering from Neptune Fish & Shish. It should be called Fish & s***!! Honestly, The food is greasy and tasteless, The pancake roll was like a cross between hard beansprouts and curry paste. The curry sauce was a strange liquid, that looked like a thin watery sewage colour. It didn't taste nice either. The saveloy was tasteless. The texture was awful. My husband is not fussy when it comes to food, even he said it was horrible. All in all, it was absolutely abysmal. As previously mentioned, I would not give this to an animal!!!! Please close this shop down, I dread to think where they get their ingredients/food from. The coke tasted like it had been watered down ~ possibly a cheaper brand, with the coca cola label attached? £25 down the toilet... possibly where the food originated!!

Worst mixed special ever, the donor was raw, the rice tasted horrid stale and the salad had been frozen and wasn’t fully defrosted , in all honesty if I was eating in I would have sent it back , the only edible item was the pitta breads and even those were stale, and to top it all off the delivery driver was miserable as hell. All in all a waste of £25

i normally have an order every couple of weeks, but that`s going to change in the future....one of the things we like to order has increased by 50%??? other things less so, they dont give the 10% discount any more for ordering online...and like i said they have put up there prices, i will use them again but buy less and not tip.....so i will make cutbacks as well!!! p.s. this was a home delivery order on saturday night.

Well I have to say I’m very surprised at the one star reviews on here, we’ve ordered 3-4 times here and it’s been perfect, maybe a little later than they told me but they are busy so what else can you expect, but I have to say we are regular Friday night takeaway people and out of all the chicken Shiah kebabs I’ve had….this one is the ultimate best!! And I had a saveloy too, fresh, juicy and the best taste ever, I’d give it all 5 stars anytime, we’ll done neptunes!!

WOW! I would say this the BEST fish/Chips and kebab in the town. I was amazed by the service and quality of food. Their prices are good! the service is incredible and the food just taste amazing! This place definitely needs more credit for what they do! KEEP IT UP

i went in for a meal and next think i know my son is getting his throat slit by the employees. furthermore, they were very rude and could of a least asked me before hand if this was okay with me. i was so angry i bought a few stellas from the corner shop next door and went home and had to beat my wife half to death, thanks to this chip shop my wife is now blind in one eye and on life support.

i bought a chicken burger and to my surprise there was poo in it and although it smelt really nice it was still disgusting

Normally when we order from Neptune’s the food is great I love their chips and their cod is amazing and portions are huge and always hot But sadly we ordered from here tonight and the order was 25minutes late I called the shop and all they could say it’s with the driver it’s not here nothing we can do when it finally arrived the food was almost cold very disappointed with this shop tonight might be a while before we order from here again

Food turned up stone cold,rubbish.

Don't order from here. First they gave me a gone off beef pie. I never thought much of it and put it down to accident. But on another occasion I ordered rice with chicken meat. The rice was gone off with a rancid smell , like how can you deliver rice that stinks? Definitely done on purpose. Called them up and they told me that the rice is cooked fresh everyday and that they will send me a replacement which they did. I compared the new rice with the old and the new was fine but the old rice was defo expired.

Gave 1 star for delivery driver as he had trouble finding us. Food, was absolutely rank.. Ordered a large mix doner with everything and asked for and quite rightly charged extra 50p for extra chilli peppers. Also ordered large Cod and chips and a savaloy.. It arrived around the time suggested. Got it back, Cod? Small greasy tasteless and cold and never got any chips! savoloy? , how many times was it reheated? It was like a beer stick. Rock hard, even my dog turned his nose up. As for my Kebab, if that was supposed to be a large then it was from Lilliput. , pitta bread was actually bread you get from the packaging, totally uncooked. Never see a griddle or pan. Kebab was Half the size of other kebab shops, not one bit of salad, after paying an extra 50p for extra chillies, I got a total of 3 chilli peppers for which I was charged 50p for extra. And to boot, I spent 15 minutes trying to get through to complain but just engaged. Not even worth explaining. See the pics, AVOID.. Disgusting, Will never ever use again..

I tried to order my food but they refused and then pulled out a 15 inch sword; threatened to murder me and my family. they then followed me home and ran into my house, they took my wife and kids. I haven't seen them in two days please HELP ME !!!!!

Well what can I say, quite frankly one of the best chip shops in the whole of Hertfordshire and very easily the best in Cheshunt. A great turn around as the previous owners ruined it years ago!

We bought fish and chips from here but the fish was too oily and the saveloy was to over cooked. Delivery time excellent.

The recent change to chips made with higher quality potatoes has elevated this establishment to five star status! We would best describe the chips as tasting like the best Fish N Chip shop food from our childhoods back in the 80s. Lovely staff who recognise repeat customers and greet genuinely. The Fried Chicken and Kebab are also worth a munch too😁👏👏

I would strongly recommend you ask for it to be cooked fresh, add the only thing that wad hot was the burger. The fish was cold and the batter was hard was meant to have 2 large and hot 1 large 1 small add the other one wad half the size. Waste of£26 the pie was not hot all the easy through and the chips was warm. I will never go back again

I used Just Eat to get a delivery for 4 of us, the fish Rock, Cod and Haddock were all excellent and the chips perfect. The order was delivered on time and really hot, the price was very reasonable and the delivery man pleasant.

Best take away in cheshunt area,kebabs,burgers, and fish and chips,try you won't be disappointed, would definitely recommend

The oil was old and needed changing. It made the the chips and sausage taste unpleasant. Money wasted as the whole lot went in the bin. If your business is Fish and Chips you should at least use fresh oil!!

Not very happy phoned for a delivery and told 45mins , called them back after 1 hour and got told that it had just been cooked and will be with me in another 20mins , when everything ordered was basic chip shop stuff so should not take that long

Revolting. Ordered Chicken shish. Chicken x4 pieces with about 10 chips in one box. Salad in another. No bread. Complete waste of money. Avoid this place at all costs

Disappointing meal. Sausages were a pale colour and soggy, too. Undercooked to say the least. The chicken 'hot wings' an offputting pink/red colour. Won't be returning. I'd rather go to Popeye's in Goffs Oak.

Have been into eat and had food delivered both times service and food has been speedy and food quality

Since Longs closed I have been using Neptune and their delivery service for about 9 months. On my last delivery 18th March they put a price list in with my order but when I totalled up my order against the menu there was a difference in the price I paid, I could only assume that the prices are inflated if ordered on Just Eat the difference is small about 5 - 6% extra for using Just Eat app. Delivery I live about 1.5 miles from Neptune and on the 18th it was delivered to me in 9 minutes I cant figure it out how they can get the order assuming everything was ready cooked, select the items pack them and deliver in 9,minutes at tea time on a Saturday. You would be right in assuming that because of the prompt delivery that the food would be piping hot not so just look warm. The quality of the items varies but so far nothing to complain about but it should be noted that I started using the restaurant as a walk in customer when it was Neptune Fish and Chips and the quality was far superior to the quality currently supplied by Neptune Fish and Shish. Under the original name they won awards for quality and the lady in the shop would get very upset if they did not win. It is a pity that restaurants do not read reviews and comment the ones who do learn something about their establishment and have the opportunity to rectify and problems

Was eating my fish and found a black insect under the batter. When I rung and told them there was no apology. Won't be ordering again.

Massive portion of chips even though it was a regular, had to wait for fish to be cooked but that meant the batter was very fresh. Fish was pleasant but seemed small in relation to batter. Staff pleasant enough

Went into shop for large cod and chips and a pie. Asked for a fresh bit of fish to be cooked and they said it had just been done. All the fish looked the same size but he said 'this one is large'....I live 2 minutes away and by the time it was plated the food was luke warm at best. Fish was horrible. Shame as this could be a lovely local takeaway...but not when food is like this! Would not recommend

After waiting an hour for delivery food arrived bearly warm and part of the Oder was missing ! Then had to wait for yet another delivery so couldn't eat together ! Food was very bland and over priced for what you get.

Take away shop with different varieties of food. The delivery was on time and I'm really happy with the order taste and the service I have received from them. I would recommend their traditional fish and chip and most importantly the chicken shish. Would recommend the take away for the people who want to enjoy a dinner.
