The food was old, cold and crusty. Was so not worth the £21pp! Majority of the options were empty so there was even less to choose from! My partner raved so much about this restaurant but he swears it’s gone down hill so much and will not be returning.

Booked a table for Sunday evening the staffs were very welcoming. We were a big group they did a very good arrangement with our tables. The service was very good also and the food on the buffet was replenished straight away. Well done oriental buffet see you soon .

Visited the restaurant with my family to find food very bland very little quantity understandable as is Monday evening duck very fatty sauces very watered down went last year and was amazing shame we didn't have that same experience this evening won't be going again as would have been better ordered from a takeaway sorry for bad review but I honestly wasn't happy.

The chinese elements of what is available is OK - not the best we've had but not the worst either. The indian elements were awful to the point of being inedible. The Chicken tikka was so sweet it was like chicken in custard and there was barely any flavour at all. The guy serving and clearing tables was chewing his fingers and playing with his nose and hair the whole time we were there - and then brought knives, forks and drinks to the table which was really off putting and surprising given all the extra hygiene procedures that most restaurants have in place since covid started. We felt so cheated by this experience as we had been looking forward to it and saving ourselves for it all day.

Great friendly service, a very good choice of food available sometimes a little bit slow to replace empty food trays but when they are replaced you know they are fresh overall a very clean place and reasonably priced.

Rude workers. Food trays empty. Sweet and sour chicken without chicken only tempura. Never again people don’t go and don’t pay 20£ for nothing.Ice cream from asda 1pound was the best part from dinner.

We ate here on a Saturday evening when it was quite busy. There was a good turnover of food so it was all quite fresh. All of the dishes were of a very good standard, and there were quite a few premium dishes that don't always appear on buffet menus (squid, kings prawns, mussels, duck). The selection was mainly Chinese but there were a few Thai and Indian dishes as well. The staff were friendly and attentive. Overall a very good experience and would definitely go again.

Day trip to Folkestone looking forward to meal. Really disappointing. Chicken Balls were greasy, doughy and with a grey cube of chicken. Duck:Awfull, chopped up into tiny squares, no taste at all. Pleasant staff but disappointing food.

We have enjoyed dining at the Oriental Buffet for years. As with other buffets the loss of revenue during the pandemic was catastrophic and customers need to consider the effects. As with other restaurants, staff, including the all-important chefs have left, perhaps returning to their own countries or finding alternative employment. The standard of food therefore cannot be the same. The restaurant has had no income for a very long period of time and may now be struggling to survive financially so let’s support them to keep them in business. I believe the restaurant is managed/owned by an honest, hardworking family who are always welcoming.

Visited here after a gap of several years. Used to be good, but not any longer! The food, what there was of it, was cold and of poor quality. The staff were rude and not interested in dealing with any issues, such as the lack of food available. I attempted to speak reasonably to the (mis)management, but he was rude and arrogant. For the price, this was very poor indeed and I certainly won’t be returning. Avoid at all costs!

Orfered a takeaway sweetness sound chicken bslls the sauce in the pot had been watered down that much you could hardly taste it. The chicken curry meat again was like jelly I actually thought it was some sort of dumpling that was the texture of the meat. APPALLING FOOD AND POOR QUALITY MEAT IF YOU CAN CALL IT THAT! Rice was good and staff were friendly these are the only good points.

Very poor quality food indeed. Very disappointing and unenjoyable experience. And so expensive for what's on offer! The only thing I vaguely enjoyed was the squid. Some of the food was inedible. Nice waitress. But I'm afraid I cannot recommend at all. Avoid. I would never return. Tasteless, fatty, dry, not fresh, not warm enough; and strange things on offer. Yuk.

Really lovely food , as always . Returned for a meal for the 1st time since COVID started and was really impressed with what they have done and how they are operating. I hope they manage to survive the current times.

I know if was busy due to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, but there was no Social Distancing here, just a few signs mostly ignored. You had to queue to pay and order drinks and again to get food. You were only a few inches away from customers in your queue and the adjacent one. No tables had been removed so you were close to people eating, especially when walking about, kids were running about unsupervised. Sometimes you got your cutlery wrapped in serviettes, other times from a tray where other people had helped themselves.

Myself and my fiance have been here more times than I have fingers and we have never been let down! Wide variety of food and good service! Highly recommend

I love this place, I go every year on my birthday and have done for so many years. They always make me feel so welcome. I love the fusion of different foods. I used to be so picky and unwilling to try new foods but I practically have a bit of everything here. I’ve missed them since lockdown but now they have started delivering. It’s so difficult to choice what to have so I’m working my way through the menu.

Staff always kind ,good if your hungry and yummy food. My child's favourite restaurant. They also serve nepalese beer!

I have been dining at this restaurant for many years with my family, We even got to know the owner. I have never had any problems until tonight. I dined here this evening with two friends. We got seated and was asked what drinks would we like. My friends ordered their drinks and I ordered a tap water. The attitude of the owner when I asked for tap water was disgusting. He made me feel embarrassed for ordering something that is for free. I have a medical condition. I can not consume any kind of sugar or alcohol as it irritates me. He then asked again if I wanted to order a “drink” even though I did order a drink. Tap water. I was shocked that he had to ask me again, I also felt that we didn’t receive any customer service tonight. No one came to clear our tables or to ask if we would like another drink. To be honest I was going to ask for another glass of water but was too scared incase I was thrown out . I understand the terms of upselling as I have worked in sales for many years. But if someone says no the first time. Respect the customer’s decision. After many years of coming to this restaurant I won’t be coming back.

The problem, I find, with oriental buffets, is that the food sits there too long and this kind of food really benefits from being fresh. Having said that, the quality at this one is fairly good and they keep topping it up with fresh amounts quite frequently. A very good range of dishes, including some English dishes for those who are less adventurous. I would certainly go back as it is good value if you're hungry and staff are pleasant. Good location too.

Been in a couple of times, its always been very quiet but the food is ok. On my last visit its now curiously owned by Nepalese

Visit everytime we are in Folkestone when travelling on the tunnel . One of the best buffets we have visited ,wish we had it near Ipswich ! Good food keenly priced.

Had a lovely evening meal here whilst on coach trip to Folkestone. The host was welcoming and the food was hot and plentiful and very good value for money.

We arrived at 815pm on a Sunday evening and although we had looked in earlier to see the choice of food available when we sat down there was very little in the serving dishes and what was there was stone cold. Tried this place a few years ago and it was OK so thought we'd give it another go, just awful

Our first visit at 530 when I thought food would be hot and fresh wrong ! Lukewarm and the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted very limited choice will never visit this place again

This is NOT a posh food place - but one where you laden your plates with a variety of foods of your choice and get stuck in. It's really good value for money, so don't knock it. The foods never vary - but you have a good range, and we are happy to go back.

The Oriental Buffet caters for the people of Folkestone and, if today's lunchtime numbers are anything to go by, extremely well - it was rather busy.

My friend loves this place so we came. It’s cheap yes but I didn’t think there was enough variety. The food was ok. The staff weren’t very attentive, I had to go up and ask them for drinks whilst they were talking. Also I know the restaurant has been there for a really long time so I was surprised that their English wasn’t very good. Shame to say I was really ill after eating here, definitely won’t be eating here again

The Oriental Buffet of Folkestone is a really economical way to eat. There are many dishes to choose from and cake, ice cream and jelly for dessert. The staff are friend and the food is excellent.

we arrived and the food that the website said would be £5 was now being sold as £5.50, not much a difference but completely false advertising, also the food was uncooked, cold and the chips tasted like ghandis left toe. Also happened to find a fly laying dead in the egg fried rice.

A wide range of food and all tasted very nice. They wouldn't let me reuse a plate. Even drinks not too expensive. Pudding ice cream or jelly bit for 22 quid for 3 of us I couldn't fault it. All food clearly labelled as well. Can't wait to come back th4 chicken Korma was amazing

Was not really expecting a lot for how much this place charges. Buffet was okay, alot of items to choose from. Bit slow to top it up but they was topping it up when items run out. The reason for the bad review is the cleanliness of the place. The whole lay out and floors, walls tables just need a whole re vamp and wash! Even the fans on the wall had so much dust built up inside it, i felt like the particles was blowing onto my food. I had to visit the toilet at the end of my meal coz i knew it would put me off completely! And to my shock the toilet was the worst ive seen in a while! Absolute filthy, the management and owner needs to look into this and even maybe environmental health. Ive always said if the toilet is in a bad condition and anyone can use and view it. What condition is the kitchen in where they are making a storing the food? This is not on show.

My wife and I went for lunch whilst on a day visit to Folkestone. We have been here before and it always offers excellent food at excellent prices. The choice was as good as ever.

Great food clean restraunt. All you can eat Chinese. Had 2 starters and a decent main With chocolate gateau and ice cream . The reason for the 4 stars is it had Indian food also ??

Jacqui and I had lunch. As always, excellent choice, value and quality of food. I had sweet & sour chicken and chicken in black bean sauce, then the lamb madras with egg fried rice. All first class. Jacqui had a selection of the starters, then sweet & sour pork with noodles.

Food was terrible, service was bad, salty and looked like the food had been sitting there for some time, although we complained at the time, nothing was done, never again !

Once again I fell for the all you can eat sign, the second time in two days but that's what you do when you have children with you. So two adults and three children aged 6, 10 and 12. The sign says all you can eat children half price ie £4.50 once again does not include drinks....... but here's the thing, this restaurant, and I use the title loosely, considers only those under 10 to be children.... even our 10 year old was excluded so we paid for one child and for four adults !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! £7.90 each person work that one out. The drinks, one lemonade, one pepsi and two orange juices £8. staggering over priced and disgusting..... The help yourself buffet was disgusting and the food was mostly tasteless. The sauces that the food was swimming in was dreadful stuff. Most of the food on offer I would not eat, though the kids munched away. The place was dirty and sticky, by that I mean as you walked around the buffet and to the tables your feet stick to the floor, the table tops are sticky and the place generally looks and feels grubby. I have lived in this town for ten years and this was my first trip to the buffet place, it will most certainly be the last as well.... Please avoid this place there are much better eateries in the town that are much superior in quality and value for money. it was in all an awful experience !!!!!!!!!!!! If you think this is a good place to eat I dread to think what you are comparing it with .......

The oriental is lovely , you get a better range of food in the dinner sittings and it’s very fresh food. Lovely atmosphere and the staff are always very welcoming. The only down side are the toilets they are never very pleasant to use. Otherwise love the place.

Food cold. Pork rock hard and like leather. Not much choice in pudding. chocolate cake was dry even had trouble getting ice cream out of the tubs

we hadnt been before but our friends had, I hate to much salt, fatty food, and esp soggy fried balls!! And didnt get any of the above, all I found was fresh food hot, and big chicken balls in crispy batter along with the spring rolls, The king prawns were amazing, My friend recommended the Lamb curry ( i dont do curry my partner did and said it was good), I tried almost everything a little of each ALL good special fried rice a bit dry but was replaced as I moved on to next, sweet also inc but I was full, wouid I go again Oh Yes,

In town shopping got to 530 wanted to eat but didn’t want any fuss or huge expense. This was perfect , opened at 5pm so all fresh. Bit odd to me to serve chinese and Indian but there you go.

Visited our “usual” restaurant on Saturday evening at around half 7. We eat here once/twice a month without fail. Welcomed to the table, restaurant was pretty empty for a usual Saturday night.

We kwamen binnen en het buffet zag er in eerste instantie goed uit. Personeel was niet echt vriendelijk, maar we kregen ons drinken. Het eten was gewoon niet lekker. Het was of te pittig, of waterig of er zat een vreemde smaak aan. Vooral dingen met chili waren echt vies. Kip Madras ging nog wel en de beef zwarte bonensaus. Het is zeker geen aanrader!

The venue is pleasant enough and the staff are polite. There are varied dishes available to try at this all you can eat style buffet. The food was tasty and delicious but the selection was a little limited on some choice styles.

we found this place to be very good.clean ,well run ,a nice choise of food to chose from.its got air con which was nice to get out the heat of the day. we got no sence of a rush to eat up and leave wich was nice. as you do sometimes in buffets.its got a mid range prise ,we will be back again for sure next time we go to folkestone.

It's quite simple.....there's a lot of food and you can eat any amount of anything for the fixed amount. Read a lot of negative reviews about food but had no problems personally may be because we were in just as the doors opened, allowing to dig in to everything fresh and warm.There's lots of seafood and you'll love it if you're a prawn fanatic. I suggest it's best to go around seeing what's on offer first because you might find your favourite dish later on with a full stomach.Only downside is the dessert, with not much on offer other than some ice cream and chocolate cake which is not that bad. Anyway it did not really matter to me as I was already full by the time I came to dessert.So don't expect the all formal restaurant experience; just go and eat.

We were served quickly, me and my family had three plates each plus ice cream and cake.The food we had was very good. Wasn't at all busy so it wasn't crowded around the food. Friendly staff Love going there for lunch and dinner.

After trying unsuccessfully to find a place that served a late Sunday roast we decided on Oriental Buffet. It was around 6pm on Whitsun bank holiday when we were seated. Had not eaten here for a few years and were very disappointed with the selection on offer. Several dishes had not been replenished and some looked as though they had been sitting there for some while. Hunger pangs were getting the better of us so we decided to stay. Some of the food was hot others barely warm. The chicken battered balls were soft and chewy and the Chinese pork slices almost cold, very dry and had a strange taste. The other dishes were mediocre and bland. While we were standing at the buffet making our selection some crispy duck with pancakes, cucumber and Spring onions was brought out. Great we though but again disappointing as the duck was only just warm and the vegetables tasted past their sell by date.The desserts not much better with jelly (presumably for children), quartered oranges and apples, still in their skins, economy "ice cream" and some chocolate gateau. Later on in the early hours of the morning I was woken up with stomach pains and sweating profusely. The following 7 hours I was throwing up along with diahorrea and stomach ache. Not a great way to spend a Bank Holiday Monday!

Really enjoyed the food here. There's a good selection and it was all very good. This was our 4th visit and we will be returning!

Last time we came here was many years ago, we happened to be in the town at lunch time and thought this would be ideal. How wrong we were. Has changed hands since we were last in here and not for the better.The food is only lukewarm, barely any heat to it at all. Very bland tasteless food, the naan bread looked more like cardboard so I didn't even attempt to try that. The curries (no matter which one) were very very watery so no chance of any nice thick creamy sauce on your plate. Very cheap end food that may be eat as much as you like, but to be honest, one plateful was enough to stomach.This has to be the worst oriental/Indian food I have ever tasted and will definitely not be returning or recommending. Sorry but I thought some of it looked more like dog food! Very very disappointed

Gave this place a go and DID NOT regret it. The food was cooked just right. Sauces are great and food is full of flavour. Prices are good at evening dinner costing £11.50 per person. Staff are kind and helpful. Lots of Asian people eating here so must be a good place. Nice area from the harbour it is a 6min walk up cobbled road. Lovley walk.

Really great place to eat - no frills just very good food, excellent choice, wonderful value and good service. The only place I will ever eat now when I'm in or near Folkestone.

The food looked awful and the little that we tasted was awful. We have eaten at many places including other all you can eat buffets, and I can safely say that this is the worst food ever. We had about two mouthfuls and couldn't eat anymore. When asked if everything was ok, we politely told the manager that it wasn't, and his answer was perhaps we were not use to oriental food! He then walked off only to come back and suggest that we try some of the other dishes that were available. The curries were like water, no flavour and the brightest colours I have ever seen in curries.If we had a power cut they would have lit up the room. Would avoid this place at all costs, unless of course, you like flavourless poorly cooked food.

Having chose here for my birthday meal I can say the food is not great at all. I know being an all you can eat food isn't meant to be amazing but the selection was poor and the taste too. Only redeeming factor is the lovely friendly staff.

Whenever there is a family get together or birthday, this is our first choice. Although it is in the middle of town, parking is easy and close by. Staff are always attentive. Geat choice of delicious food. Suits all age ranges and great value for money. Will certainly be back again with the family

The Oriental Buffet is one of the last remaining old school all you can eat buffet restaurants in East Kent. This alone makes it worth a visit but it is also pretty decent value. Prices vary depending on day and time. The food itself is what you'd expect on a budget but its still enjoyable. If you are after gourmet style food turn away now!The service is good enough but as always, some improvement and happier staff would help get them that excellent rating.

We walked in as by mistake but were pleasantly surprised by the variety of the food, the relationship price/choice and the facility of service. Plenty of clean plates, food being brought out over and over, smiling faces everywhere. The manager even offered us to use WI FI connection, offer that my daughter took up at once. We enjoyed the meat and veggie options and I asked to take some photos for my review.

We went New years eve, as we always do & it never let's us down. Unlike alot of other places they don't up their prices cos it's new year. It was really busy but the staff worked their butts off ensuring all the food was constantly replenished & piping hot. Staff were rushed off their feet but still managed to be attentive to all the customers, with friendly, smiling service all evening. Highly recommended the place, will continue to visit throughout 2017. Well done guys ...

Came here as a couple as had an hour to kill before going to the cinema. Friendly staff, well priced and although a buffet the food was good and fresh.

A great varied amount of food - all warm and tasty and to suit all tastes. One child liked plain food and another likes spicy and there was plenty there to easily feed both of them. Staff really friendly

We went early on a Saturday evening, busy but no lack of dishes to choose from. We found it to be well cooked and good quality. My wife had, among other things, Salt & Pepper King Prawns which she said were excellent and went back for more. I had the Chinese Style Beef Curry which was very good as was the Lamb Madras. The Chicken in Batter, Spare Ribs in Peking Sauce, Beef in Black Bean Sauce, & Special Fried Rice, just to name a few, were also good. This was our first visit but we will return.

Visited here with my wife and young son. Staff were very accommodating and helpful and there was a nice variety of food available. Price wise also pretty good. Facilities look a bit run down though (gents toilets could use some money spent on them) but overall, a good place to grab something quick.

We came here for a change on our own, on a Friday evening two weeks ago. Busy even at 6ish. The more we have visited, the curries are definitely not cooked fresh on site, as various other dishes. Greasy prawns, and the duck looked and tasted like some form of minced. So you go for what looks and tastes half descent, which you can find, depending on your taste of course. The waiters always ask, have been before? Yes numerous, they seem attentive enough in the clearing of each plates used, and the only service really is the alcohol ordered to your table.Around £30 for two, not forgetting you can eat, stop, eat a bit more, until ''stuffed'', so ''not the best'' but cannot be all bad, been here a while, and ''rammed'' by 7pm.Descent bottle of Guinness, nearly a pint £3.50, tasty fruit juices £1.50, near enough.For a change about the price nowadays, but not top draw fayre.This has numerous oriental dishes of which not sure.

Didn't hesitate to choose here for my Birthday meal! Fantastic variety and good value for money, though Mum and Dad paid this time. Mum bought my birthday cake to the restaurant, the staff lit the candle for her and came out singing Happy Birthday to me, it was lovely. I was then running late to meet friends at a local bar, and management kindly let my friend join us just to eat cake before going for drinks, they even pulled another table over! Thank you for a memorable evening and I look forward to many more family celebrations with you.

Where do I start with this place?Back In September we visited here for a Chinese Buffet, it was a nice start with friendly staff.We went up and got our food which was very greasy and the Chicken Balls were more like Batter Balls, hardly any chicken in there what so ever.The noodles were terrible, all in all the food was shocking, comapred to a place we went in Newcastle Upon Tyne that same week called Aneesa's Buffet Restaurant, Oriental Buffet is shocking and I would advise people to not go there.My partner went up for seconds as she was starving, the Gentleman took her plate off her without any explanation which was a bit rude, we found out you cannot use the same plate twice but they should have said!!!!!The Deserts were shocking as well they were Kids deserts and tasted Horrible!Just Avoid this place!

The food was nice however I was very disappointed at the lack of vegetarian options (surprising for oriental food); there was some but by far most of the dishes contained meat. The service was a little slow also.

We had dinner here on sunday. The choice was great the food was hot and fresh. We ate too much though and had trouble walking back to the hotel. The staff were welcoming and encouraged us to keep going back for more including puddings. Would recommend and wish we had this place were we live.

Have eaten here many times choice outstanding great value for money as you can as much as you want and pick exactly what you like. Staff very friendly and attentive without being annoying. Prices of drinks can be high but that's how they get their money. Great family friendly restaurant and Sunday only £10 per adult and £5.50 per child (3-9) for all you can eat can't be bad.

We have visited this restaurant many times over the years and usually it is fine. This time we were very disappointed. It was bank holiday Monday and we were quite early. There appeared to be quite a selection of food. However, when trays ran out they were not replenished very quickly. Most of the food was quite bland and the sauces were so diluted they had no taste whatsoever. The chicken balls had hardly any chicken in it, the seaweed lacked both sweetness and salt and the prawns had very little chilli kick etc. My sister did enjoy the thai red curry and the duck pancakes were fine. The chocolate cake was unexciting. Towards the end of the meal we were also put off by a rather large unpleasant bug climbing up my nieces chair. To add to this they had very little to offer with regard to red wine so I gave up and had half a lager.

Although the buffet is cheap, and the staff friendly. There was a lot of food which was lukewarm at best which seems to coalesce with the fact that it only has a 2 star hygeine rating. Food tasted generally ok, but some was overcooked, and did taste of cheap quality overall. The chocolate cake dessert is poor, and tastes more of ice cream! Definitely defrosted!

This offers some very good food at a reasonable price but it is popular so you might find it a bit busy. Some of the food could be a bit hotter but this is a problem with having a buffet but the staff are friendly and always willing to help. If it is busy then you do have to put up with the tables not being cleared as quickly as you might like and you are looking around for additional forks, knives etc. Overall, good value but choose your time.

The biggest waste of money ever , the food is absolutely vile , lukewarm, tasteless, boring , watery , and the drinks were just as bad . Avoid at all cost

Having chosen an all you can eat restaurant we didn't have high expectations but the limited choices available and the general lack of flavours made for a disappointing first visit!

Worth trying for an inexpensive meal. Good selection of dishes. Food area kept constantly clean. Very nice and friendly staff. Food quality ok nothing special but plenty of it.

This is the 2nd time we have been the first time we went we was informed they would be closing early and had not a great selection left we thought this was a one of and returned today at 2.50 we looked at the side of the building it said they closed lunch at 4pm so we thought we had plenty of time. Upon entering we were stared at for a good awkward minute before one waiter came up and said I give you a table but we are going to close at 3.30 so you have to eat by then I looked and thought ok that gives us 40 minutes even though they meant to shut at 4pm we didn't argue we sat down and asked for a drink. We went to get food and there was some salad some chicken wings and some rice ale noodles left only the basic sort as well nothing else so we said to the waiter will you be bringing more out? He said probably not so I said well we won't stay if there is no food he then went of and returned to say yes they will bring out more food have some rice and noodles etc. So we did and they brought out some lamb madras 10 mins later I asked again were the food was he said we brought out lamb that's all we are bringing out. By this time I was not happy I asked to speak to a manager as we felt that we had been tricked into staying when they had no intention of brining anytime out they just wanted our money the manager went from busy to then not in the building. And then was blamed for coming in to late but as I said you cannot have no food 40 mins before you shut and you meant to shut at 4pm he took me to the front were a new sign said 3.30 shut but as I said I come up the side of the building were it says 4pm which he then said it is more of a guideline time?! And several other reasons why it was my fault but he would give me a discount! For what some rice and noodles? I said I never even got my drink I ordered to which he was going to then put that on my bill! I gave him £5 as I had something and a bit of advise the place was run by a bunch of barely out of school kids who just wanted to get out before closing time and had no respect not one apology or even a offer to not charge me I will be surprised if it keeps open much longer you cannot have a all you can eat with no food nearly an hour before closing and rude immature kids in charge. Totally diabolical
