Brilliant place to eat. We go as an annual trip and we are always excited for it. The staff are always, always friendly and the food is stunning. Would 100% recommend.

Vegetable balti was ok. Nicely spiced but quite thick tomatoey sauce with coconut in. Wife enjoyed the tikka massala. Red was ok, quite sweet and syrupy. Rice was nicely cooked as was the poppadoms and peshawari naan. Would use again. Have been here for probably 15 years

Lovely place, first time we have been there. Food was really good. Portions were large, good if you have a big appetite, even better to get a to go bag for lunch then next day!

Been here several times, both for Driss/Elvis and Freddie Mercury tribute nights. Fantastic evenings with lovely food and welcoming staff. Took my elderly father last week and he said he hadn't enjoyed himself so much for a long time!!

Came on Saturday night with friends,there was about 15 of us,there was only one other table with guess on,we waited about 45 mins for our starters to come,we was told it would only be 5 mins,2 seconds later it was 2 mins,time the mains came out,mine was the last one to come out,really did not want it,I do work in the hospitality trade my self,should of had 2 people bringing the food out not 1,I was told that you had lots of take away orders to do,your main focus should of been your guess waiting in your restaurant,it will take alot for me to come back or even recommend your restaurant

Good food, price average, loads of choice, acces good, service he was new to job so a bit slow and lack of knowledge. Nice atmosphere and very spacious in restaurant

One of the best on the marsh, normally stick with a korma when it comes to curry though went with a pasanda has been my go to order when it come to getting a curry, the curry lounge is the only place so far that makes it perfect, defently recommend coming here, a wide range of dishs to try.

Well what lovely little find, lovely hot in temperature curry and full this is the place to visit !! Authentic and a nice cold cobra beer to wash it all down with !! Please visit and you won't ge disappointed!! Thanks the waddington family

Tried the Curry Lounge for first time 15 Aug 23. Our group of 4 adults (including a chef) all agreed it was the best Indian food we'd all eaten. Beautiful flavours, quality meats & vegetables are obviously used. Service was friendly & professional. Can't give details on atmosphere as we had takeaway but noted on collection how clean, tidy & nicely furnished and decorated the inside was & the garden to the front beautifully maintained. Curry Lounge, New Romney will be our go-to for Indian cuisine from now on and will be recommended by us always !

We had a lovely meal here on Monday night. We were a party of eight. The service was attentive and swift and we felt genuinely welcomed. The food was delicious - although portion size is quite large so bear that in mind when ordering. Will definitely be back.

Lovely meal, unfortunately the prices shown on the outside menu bear no resemblance to the actual prices on the real menu inside, which are considerably higher. Shame.

Here you can eat fantastically well

The food was delicious. The restaurant looks neat and the employees were very polite.

We are staying at a nearby caravan holiday park and visited New Romney for an evening meal. From the outside the building of this business looked very impressive and so with. I prior knowledge of the establishment we decided to try it. I’m the night we visited there was a Ska singer performing which is an unusual accompaniment to a curry, but it really helped make for an enjoyable evening, as me and my wife sang along and remembered songs from our teenage years. He was incredibly talented, and was a very welcome addition. Onto the food ………….. I have eaten curries in every major city in Britain, and I’ve lived within a mile of Brick Lane in the East End of London, so I’d like to think I can appreciate a good one! This is hands down the best curry I have ever eaten. The flavours were phenomenal. This view was echoed by my wife and my elder son ……….. my younger daughter sadly would only go for chicken and chips!!! I had a chicken madras, and I was genuinely upset when I finished it, I was enjoying it that much. The staff were fantastic and were very attentive, and the price was very reasonable. All in all a place well worth a visit. I, for sure will return when I am next in the area. Thank you for a delightful evening with fantastic food.

Lovely welcoming staff on arrival, lovely food and good choice on the menu. Lots to choose from. Good wine and drinks list. informal dining areas for a relaxed experience. We are locals who love this place and are returning customers as it a lovely place to go on any night of the week.

Visited on a Sunday night and took full advantage of the banquet offer! Food was delicious, the staff were fantastically friendly and attentive. Draft Cobra was a massive plus too! We would definitely visit again.

We have enjoyed many a lovely meal at the Curry Lounge, great dishes which can be tailored to your preference of spiciness, chicken is always top notch. Tables are always very clean and the service is perfect, we always get looked after, so we keep coming back, Simples.

New to the area and use it weekly for a take away. First class. Lovely fresh food. Non greasy. Staff really friendly. The owner is an absolute gentleman. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Ordered online today and was told to have an hour wait which I thought was quite long but still decided to order my food arrived after 2 hours cold and after calling the restraunt twice definelty won’t be ordering again (had to heat up in microwave)

Food arrived barely warm and we are only 1 minute walk away. Tika was not cooked fresh and was rubbery with no sign of spices or yoghurt and was not from a tandoori. Food colouring used to excess on meat, pilau rice and riatha.

My family and I had a meal last night. The food and service was superb. The staff were very friendly and will definitely return to this restaurant in the future.

Father's day treat, so booked a table for my family of 4. Meal was warm, not hot and very oily, soft drink (cola) flat with a little fizz.

Placed an order for delivery, waited 2 and a half hours for delivery. No updates from restaurant about the delays. When food arrived, it was cold and items were missing.

Simply the best Curry on the Marsh! Food is superb. Service is great! Highly recommend the Sizzler Special, Goan, in fact everything. Never tire of eating here!

Right.. I'm not from this area.. but I do visit quite often.. and when I do I always try to have a meal at this wonderful restaurant... and this is why.. in the mid 1980's when I was but a lad there was an Indian restaurant "the shagbagh... in braintree Essex.. I visited VERY often.. absolutely loved it.. and the owners Lou and Abdul ... must have gone 4 nights a week.... life moves on and ive lost touch with them.. but would live to know how they are doing by the way.. and ive had kids and in nearing retirement now.. but over the years the Indian takeaways now all seen to taste the same..I think they use mass produced base sauces.. or something... but THE CURRY LOUNGE don't.. their dishes are the only one ive tried since the 90's that still taste like they should.. absolutely great food especially my particular favourite the sizzling chicken karahi ... it's like savouring great memories every time I eat it... dont ever change and thankyou to all if the guys for making my visits special.

I have been having Indian here for 24years, and I can say in my experience it’s the best around. The customer service is second to none! If there’s a problem with anything, it’s rectified as soon as it can be. My kids love their meals, so I guess I’ll be ordering here for the next 24 years 😀 Thank you xx

Tables are far too small, my 6 and 8 year old were even complaining that they were cramped. Ice cream were rock hard, Had to ask for a plate as there was only 4 for 5 of us. Orders did not come out correctly, even thou the receipt was correct to what we ordered rather than what we received. Hot towels came out half way rather than at the end.

90mins for our food to arrive, then it arrived stone cold. No flavour either, no apology from staff. So disappointed. They were concentrating more on deliveries than us in the actual restaurant. Just wanted to get out, ordered then 20mins later they come back and say one item is missing when they missed out one of the orders which I suspect delayed us more.

Food was very late arriving but tasty.

Very slow service, waiting over an hour for food that was bland and overpriced. The reasoning given being they were ‘very busy with delivery orders’.

After waiting an hour and half our starter arrived with the main course! Apart from that the food was very tasty and hot. Was it worth the wait? Yes.

We visited the Curry Lounge on 23/10/21, and unfortunately had a very poor experience. The food was exceptionally delayed, and when it arrived, was not enjoyable, lacking flavour across the board. The staff did repeatedly apologise, and explained it was because they were very busy with delivery orders. However all the of tables surrounding us were also unimpressed, and it was over 75minutes between us ordering food and receiving it.

Real nice place to eat. Staff friendly but not over bearing. Good choice of dishes and the food is superb.

We always have delivery but due to not paying their drivers adequately no meal deliveries due to no drivers wake up you’ll loose lots of business

We ate here at the last minute and thought the restaurant looked homely. The menu was very varied and the descriptions very helpful, we chose a couple of dishes we had never tried before and enjoyed them both. The owner was very friendly and we had a lovely chat with him. There were a number of family groups in and it was really busy so we must have been lucky to get a table. The prices are really reasonable and we will definitely be back soon!

We ate at this Indian restaurant purely based upon it's previous reviews and we are so glad we did as they live up to their expectations.A lovely large room with plenty of space so not cramped, which is a plus in these times. Staff very courteous, menu very large, food very tasty and the prices were so reasonable that we had to do a double take when receiving our bill.Fully recommend this restaurant and will return ourselves when back in the area.

Staying near Romney we had booked the Curry Lounge. Looked great from the outside.Once in, just as good. Had great service. Most importantly the food was fantastic.Not greasy or oily. We had the chicken Goan as well as a prawn dish with rice and sundries.All very, very nice.Many thanks.

Absolutely gorgeous food. Ive had many currys and eaten in loads of different restaurants and had lots of indian take aways. But this is by far the best curry ive ever had the portions are excellent the food quality is unbelievable. Will definitely be making this my go to curry house 10/10

I have been a patron of the Curry lounge for many years, but unfortunately the standard of the meals in my experience has gone down very much.The Chicken tikka used to be a melt in the mouth, full of flavour dining experience, but now after trying two or three times it is just very dry and bland.Maybe their other dishes are better. Cannot say. Just think that it is Such a shame, to my mind think this establishment miss their previous management and no longer serves food to the high standard it used to.Many years ago somebody told me if you are going to go into an Indian restaurant look at the upstairs curtains to see if they look fresh and clean, if so then that is a good sign,if not then steer clear, don’t know if this is correct or not, but can say Curry lounge curtains do not pass that test.

My husband and I had a very nice spontaneous meal here last night. The service was fantastic, the food was very good and the atmosphere was nice. Very impressed and would happily go back.

Amazing selection. Great venue. While not one for hot curry there is more than enough choice of mild ones.

A life saver as it was open on a Sunday evening (with a price deal). The menu is the usual Bangladeshi over long list and given the absence of diners it is obvious that the food cannot be freshly cooked but in general it was equal to the" normal UK Indian" Service was fine ,so thank you for being open!

Great place with delicious food !

Wrote about this place twice before, first time slated it second loved it, Anyway this was my third visit and it was a mixed one. 3 of us went for a meal and ordered some popadoms, never ordered chutneys but this came with the popadoms, obviously you like chutneys with your popadoms but to charge you £3 for the chutneys is ridiculous when these are usually complimentary.As for the rest of the meal, apart from ordering a lamb dish and receiving a chicken dish the food was pretty good, and the staff weee very nice.I spent best part of £100 on the meal, and I don’t mind that but sort out the chutneys as this really has got under my skin.

Everything here was perfect. A family group ate at the restaurant on a Saturday evening. I had previously left a review commending the food but not a good review for the staff. That has all changed. Everyone was friendly, polite and professional. The food as always was delicious.

We ordered a take away to the caravan park, we were told an hour and 10 minute wait, which is quite long, but we continued with our order. But after an hour and 40 minutes no one had turned up or called. I had to phone them, apparently it was being packed! I was so annoyed they didn’t have the courtesy to call us to apologise for the delay. It was 2 HOURS AFTER ORDERING we finally received our food By this point we were so miffed that we couldn’t even appreciate the food.

The good was bland - not tasty. The service was a little slack. Altogether a little disappointing.

Great curries great selection. Great prices. Take away good prices for collections When l travel down from London for the weekend, this is the first place l go too, Garlic Rice and chicken Balti is just to die for.

Was an impromptu visit to the Curry Lounge with my wife. We were cautious as we visited the previous year and the service was dreadful and really left you not wanting to come back. I am so glad we went in this time. The changes they have made are remarkable. The waitress that served us was so friendly and chatted away to us clearly interested in what we had to say and more than happy to dedicate time to us. Even answering our what must have been annoying questions. She informed us of the banquet deal that they were running that night (Thursday) and honestly there is so much food for such good value we didn't believe it ourselves until the bill came to the table. The food was amazing hot, full of flavour and more than we could have ever expected. Seems they have got a couple of really good dedicated waiters/waitresses dealing with the tables dining in and nothing is too much for them. A very very big improvement from my last visit last year where the waiters were unresponsive and just generally couldn't be bothered spending more time arguing on the phones or talking to eachother. Me and my wife cannot wait to go back again and want to say well done to the Curry Lounge for the amazing turn around they have made this year with their staff and the quality and speed of the food being served.

Could not belive how this restaurant have hit rock bottom we have been going there for many years, alway reconmended to people, but ordered a takeaway what a shock it was cold, salty, chicking texture was not right , phoned and complained how bad it was, was told there was problems in the kitchen and we could have a free meal next when we come in. Told them if this is what is being severed up we will not useing there serves anymore. Are they under new management? Have never had such a bad meal from them before.

Ordered food 6:30 and it got here at 9:15! it cost me £40 beyond a Joke! Either give me my money back or the next meal is discounted 50%!

Totally not impressed with any part of my evening out. Food was bland and only warm.Whole place looks tired and the staff dont help.After checking the bill next morning over charged on the drinks.Busy but maybe my standards are too high for this place ?
