Oranos Grill & Karahi in Nottingham

Great place great food will come back again

First time coming to Oranos with family. Upon arrival the restaurant seemed nice and tidy, got seated right away. We ordered Lamb Shish and Lamb kebabs for starters and then the Lamb Charsi Karahi and sheeryakh kulfi for dessert. Took around 30/35 minutes for food to arrive so we assumed it was cooked fresh which it was. Kebabs and Lamb Shish were good nothing surprising but decent for what you get, the meat also tasted fresh and had no smell. The Charsi Karahi however was extremely disappointing as it was not in anyway a “Karahi”. It was cooked fresh however was a bog standard Lamb curry as you could tell from the masala so it was very disappointing as we especially came to try that. The rest of the dish was fine, again it was a lamb curry so for that standard it was ok. The only thing we really enjoyed from the whole meal was the Sheeryakh icecream it was phenomenal great portion too for the small size that we ordered. Unfortunately one of the sauce dishes was cracked which is a bit of a shame to be served sauce in. The toilets are not up to standard there was mess everywhere in the ladies room nappies outside of the sanitary bins empty toilet paper rolls everywhere too. Sinks were covered in rice as it seemed and there was no hand soap except for a really watered down bottle of soap which did nothing. Overall I doubt I would come here again unless the level of service and food was worked upon.

The food was very delicious. We ordered meat qabuli, but the cleanliness was very bad. The whole place was dirty, the floor was rice, and the bathrooms were dirty. To be honest, you get disgusted while you are sitting and the smell of the place is meat that is not appetizing to the point that I decided that if I wanted to eat it, I would order it at the residence.

Food was poorly packed and all spilled on road during delivery! I never got refund neither food was sent. Called restaurant, very unhelpful and arrogant manager.

Service is bad. People usually go to resturants to have some good time with friends or family. They expect good service. Food is available everywhere, even they can have good food at homes aswell. Service is really bad. Will not recommend

Poor service and food was not fresh we order charsi karahi it was not fresh and even naan was not fresh it was 2nd experience 1st experience was better but this time just bad experience and not recommending anybody especially in busy days

Horrible place, waited 15 mins to order kept ignoring us and kept walking off. Many people were angry and just left after being ignored but we gave it a chance, waited 45 mins for the food and not even hummus came bloody hummus. Even had to wait for 15 mins to call for a can of coke 😂 . Staff look lost and so slow. Do not recommend for anyone.im so surprised how it is a 4 star restaurant definitely fake review. Be careful

Honestly the worst place I could ever go to, service was horrible, took us 30 minutes alone just to order, another 30 minutes for the drinks, and we ordered starters being hummus which takes only 5 minutes to do didn’t even arrive. The reviews and stars showing this place is 4.1 are most likely all bought by the owner. Fake accounts giving good reviews.

The food was nice but most of it was cold, curries were perfect and so was the taste but it was dead crowded, also mostly there was crumbs everywhefe on the floor, the drinks were weird and only 3 options available, only fruit chaat and kheer for dessert and nothing else and about 9 to 10 options for food including the curries. I would say its a reasonable experience, not bad but not too good

Staff uniform is too dirty i will never go back never recommend it too dirty, you need to drink water in plastic glasses too 👎 .

Poor Management & Disappointing Experience I booked an Iftar table in advance, but when we arrived, they claimed there was no space and sent us upstairs, despite knowing I had kids with me. It was completely inconvenient, and in the end, I had to leave at Iftar time without a proper meal. They should stop overbooking if they can’t manage reservations. Unprofessional, greedy, and not worth it—wouldn’t recommend.

I had a very disappointing experience. The staff was extremely rude, and they were accepting bookings despite not having enough space in the restaurant. It felt disorganized and poorly managed. Would not recommend.

I called them to book a table for iftar and the guy who picked was very rude, I wanted to ask him a question but he said we are busy!

Nice place, customer service is reasonable, WC facilities onsite. Parking can be a problem 😒. It does get busy at times,and I would recommend it 👌. The WC could do with a clean.

Was looking forward to the experience but unfortunately disappointed. Food took 45 minutes to come out, ordered the tropical “mocktail”, which truly was a mockery as it was just a glass of cheap fruit juice. Food was basic, nothing special. Wouldn’t go again

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Heating not working, jug had mould inside the handle I showed this to the manager he did feel embarrassed. Food no taste at all plates had small hair. Overall 🤢

If you're looking for quality Desi/Afghani good then this is the place. I've had their lamb karahi which is one of the best I've had in a while. Their tawwas are so yummy with such good flavours and variety. Their bbq chicken wings were beuuuats. Even the chutney they use is fresh coriander and mint. Honestly a good one to go with your desi families. I need to try the qabli pilou and the Chapli Kebabs next! Decently priced place. Oh I also ordered one of their specialist dishes which had good flavours and different. Tried the Qabli pilou and it was delicious! Meat was so tender, they added extra Carrots and raisins for me cause I'm a fatty. The laborious karahi again was 😍😍. I will be a regular here no doubt

I've ordered online before, and the food arrived cold! Including the lamb. I went there to collect - figured I'd give them another go, after multiple tries with cold food. The food still came out cold. I've tried! I'm done with the place. They don't care. And I worry care is not even taken with the food they serve. They're probably laughing at some guest - thinking "peasants". I mean, why else would you be serving cold food to people? No more!

Spent my mates 21st birthday here. Chicken curry was unreal! My friends all really enjoyed their meals. Nice and quiet, friendly staff who were very switched on when it came to allergies.

Just had a meal with my elderly parents. The Lahori Lamb karahi was unfortunately all bones with just a bit of meat. Naan and chicken curry were great and the Grilled Sea Bass was just reasonable - quite a flat fish. As a suggestion, there should be an option for customers to add more spice when requested. We asked to make it spicier but it wasn't. Overall, an average experience.

You did not deliver the hummus....please get this delivered asap

Quite spacious restaurant but the quality of food served is not up to the benchmark of Pakistanis restaurants.

Overall not too bad. We go the chapli kebabs and Afghan lamb karahi. The chapli kebabs were very good, however the karahi was a big let down. Basically the meat was tough and seemed to be mutton and not cooked properly. Probably won't go back, but some items could be worth a try.

This is a great eatery offering great fresh food portions and their food is delightful. The staff also seem quite eager to help; I'd recommend Oranos Afghan any day without a second thought.

If I could rate this place any less I would the worst place I jhave been to in a long time. 40 mins before placing an order for drink or food. Then another hour wait and what for complete disaster. They were busy but no excuse not enough staff well prodessionals looks like picked off randomly off street. World not ever entertain this place came here with freinds who recommended they were so embarrassed what a freakin joke place

Dead. Waiter looked completely lost. Couldn't even speak English. The rice was microwaved. Chapli kebabs really greasy. Funny thing it wasn't even busy. Won't be coming here again.

New to the cuisine and it was absolutely simply delicious and very reasonably priced.The staff were very polite and friendly.

The food was average. The charsi lamb karahi was not authentic it was a normal karahi named as charsi lamb karahi the ribeye steak was chewy and hard as a soul of my shoes the naan was not Mann it was normal tandoori roti the kabuli rice was good the wings were good over all the experience was not good not recommended

Exceptional Food and Service at Oranos Grill and Karahi I recently visited Oranos Grill and Karahi with a group of friends, and we had an outstanding experience. We tried the Tawa for 4 and Mantoos, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot-on, and the food was prepared and served quickly. The customer service was top-notch—everyone was incredibly welcoming, and we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. A special shoutout to Sahar, who made our experience even more enjoyable with her friendly and attentive service. My friends also loved the food, and we all agreed that this restaurant is definitely a place we’d return to. Highly recommend Oranos Grill and Karahi for both amazing food and excellent service!

We reserved a table and we arrived and were greeted and seated quickly. The service was attentive and the order was taken promptly. The food arrived quickly and despite a tiny blip on the order it was all sorted quickly. The food was of good quality and one of our group had previously eaten here and recommended it. We liked the ambiance , the service and food and was good value for what we had. We would definitely like to come here again.

Food was Good (OK) but really disappointed about the staff's management of tables, Didn't follow the guideline/order of items as explained initially and upon reminding again still missed the order, ruined the whole experience of eating food and having good time with friends, I guess staff needs a bit more training... Anyway ruined the mood and the timeout with friends... Out of My List for Future Plans

Ordered takeaway from here tonight instead of my usual place . Very disappointed for the price . Poor standard Chicken in the Biriyani is borderline cooked . Lack of sauce kebabs were ok .

I know the food from here is great but I won't be ordering through JustEat again. it's ludicrous to be paying JustEat prices for the amount of food provided. A platter for two and a lamb curry at a cost of almost £60 is crazy. it would be cheaper for two to eat out.

Not Clean and Toilets are very dirty

We have now been the weekly Karhai and Kabuli pulao munchers at this place. Service, food, staff everything and everyone is amazing.

I never received the food despite trying to call the driver many times.

The food was tasteless and of very low quality. The prices were a rip off, I mean if you're charging like a top restaurant you should serve food accordingly. The Karahi was tasteless and anything but lamb, chicken curry had uncooked salad tomatoes tossed into it, the naans were made of spoilt dough and stank. The staff kept asking if we wanted to order more even though we were eating and had just been served so felt like we were interrupted a lot. It was a waste of time and money in my view so I wouldn't recommend it even to my enemy. I wonder what the people with 5 star reviews were served as I have a good taste for food and this is far from good.

Order food, they missed to servedkabuli pilaoo and chapli kebab and when we asked for takeaway they forgot to give us chapli kebab. We came from London. Really disappointed with the service. Steak we asked for medium and both steak came burned or could be they dont know how to cook steak. Biryani and kebab was good.

Food was ok. Not bad at all. Although Naan bread was cold. But service is terrible. Took them 20 minutes to take our order. Further 40 minutes to serve. We had kids with us, at least they should serve kids meal earlier if kitchen is taking ages to cook rest of the food. Staff wasn’t bothered about anything. Just put the plates and dishes but no cutlery or napkins. Had to ask few times for that. Ordered ice cream but no sign of ice cream for next 15 minutes, so we just left after paying. Terrible experience.

Very good food and excellent service. We visited this restaurant today for dinner. We had Manto and Afghani Pulao. Salad was offered complimentary. Since I have eaten Pulao in many places around the world before, I know the good Pulao. This restaurant makes a very good one. I highly recommend it. The service was the most kind and professional. This is a restaurant to recommend to all Nottingham visitors.

During my visit to Oranos, I was particularly impressed with their Kabli Pulao. The portion size was generous, and the dish was very well-prepared. However, I was disappointed with the Chicken Karhai. The portion size was inadequate, and the dish was served late.

First visit to the restaurant. Warm, welcoming and clean modern decor. Pleasant and polite staff. Good fresh food. Recommendations are Manto, Chapli Kebab, Chicken Kadai and Chicken Boti Fresh Nan and Roti to go with Went with the family, service was good and order correctly served. The Afghan ice cream was a pleasant surprise. A must try but it’s a big portion so careful when ordering. The Daal could do with some improvement I cannot recommend that.

Food was good, service was good, server forgot to get me something and one wrong order but no major issues as i reminded him and they rectified it, they didn't have a prayer room for salah but had prayer mats upstairs, there was nobody upstairs when i went, but if their is you should be able to find a mosque close by. It was a nice experience overall. Family was happy and any left over food we took home.

It’s a good place if you enjoy groups of unemployed 20 year old asylum seekers harassing women and hanging around all day because they don’t have jobs but somehow have nice cars

Good quality food at reasonable price

Good service, but low quality food ..! I got the platter for two for me and my wife:- -stale over cooked rice was served. -The platter was super oily. -also non tasty meat was not fresh, and was spiced with a lot of spices to hide the bad taste. -I and wife got really sick next couple of days. I don't recommend this platter at any cost. Avoid..! I didn't try anything else but after that platter no way going to try anything else.

We had our sons graduation dinner party here and the staff were so accomodating! Lovely service, and the food was fresh and perfect, with ample seating. I would for sure use this place for my dinner parties again and again!

OMG...what a food heaven..we went to Oranos in Nottingham...n truly were in food heaven ..the tawa was loaded with chicken curry lamb curry n grill meats ser rd with fluffy hot naan n crispy hot chips..yummylicious..but wait u have to have the dessert sheeryakh it's too deliciously scrumptious must try...definitely. thankyou...it was great..thankyou

It’s my first time being here everything was perfect

Waited over 1hour 30mins for our food !!! Service was an absolute joke !!! Had cans of drinks which had which said “multipack” NOT TO BE SOLD SEPARATELY!!! Charged £1.95 for each can !!! 2 bottles of water which sells at the local shop for £2.00 for 12 bottles, we got charged £1.95 each !!! Charged for a Appetiser which they didn’t even have !!! Asked for another jug of Lassi & the waiter replied we have no more jugs !!! The food was warm on the cold side to be honest NOT LAMB at all, definitely MUTTON sold as “LAMB” we had one portion of humus with Nan between 15 of us complimentary because of the food delay!!! When paying the bill the waiter asked for cash !!! Gave us £7 discount!!!! Absolutely disappointed with this establishment, definitely needs a new manager to run front of house. I will never return, definitely not value for money. I would not recommend Orano’s to any one!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE !!!!

The food is nice, but the customer service is down to the drain. I never go there again. I prefer somewhere else.
