A great city centre pub with a village pub feel and aesthetic. Feels super cosy in here in the evenings and the atmosphere compliments that. The food could be better tailored to the look and feel of the pub but it still tastes great. Will be back again and again.

A very busy noisy place on the High Street. Fairly priced drinks. The place is very busy and soon becomes a noisy place, not a place for a quiet drink. No problems with the bar staff, very good service.

What a shame. I used tonwork here many moons ago and how it's gone downhill. Saturday afternoon, it was so quiet but had run out of half the menu. Then when we had ordered they had another component they didn't have,then the food came out without the slaw or salad, so ended up with a burger and chips, which to be honest was not even as good as a five guys.

I have been visiting the tree for many months and have no complaints ! Excellent service and drinks that taste great with good prices, pet friendly and a beautiful garden venue. There’s literally nothing I can think of to fault the place.

So just had our annual festive get together, and finished on such a dissappointing end, we looked forward to going back to The Tree in Leicester City Centre for our 2 4 £10 cocktails. Was incorrectly charged (according to the specials board) and then rudely dealt with when went to complain. Customer service - 0. Would have gone back in the new year, but now lost business. We work in travel & tourism/hospitality, and would never dared to speak to customers as they did.

Arranged a team Christmas meal at The Tree and throughly pleased with the vegan optima on the festive and main menus. The butternut squash wellington was amazing and great accompaniments too. Really filling and well seasoned. Clearly a good chef at work here who understands how to make vegan food tasty. Thoroughly recommend The Tree for vegan and vegetarian food if you’re in Leicester.

Has our Christmas meal here last night and it may be the best pub Xmas meal we've had! Can't recommend highly enough. The staff were accommodating, attentive and friendly, the food was great and everything reasonably priced. Top stuff!! 😊

We came in for lunch and I was excited about having a roast dinner. I ordered the butternut squash veggie roast (its also listed as vegan). When it arrived it was all a bit undercooked and arrived without a yorkshire pudding. The dish had included yorkshire pudding on the menu but when I asked, the staff member went to ask the chef and the response was that because it is a vegan dish, the yorkshire pudding has to be swapped out and replaced with more veg. Disappointing that they weren't able to just bring me a yorkshire pudding seeing as it was on the menu and I asked for it, and am not a vegan. Seemed a bit lazy. The waiting staff were brilliant and very on it and I don't blame them at all!

Plenty of amazing vegan, vegetarian and plant based food options. The place itself is decorated with beautiful paintings, art and plants and plays relaxing music. Staff are super friendly and nice. They’re also dog friendly and we brought our french bulldog in to join us for lunch :)

I originally came here for a drink one night, only to be pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon their vegan menu. I told myself I would return the next day for food before I had to leave Leicester and I was not disappointed. Not only are the staff an absolute delight, but the Quorn vegan stew and tofu bites I ordered filled my soul with happiness and good vibes - left me feeling warm on a cold and grey day. Exactly what today called for.Along with the delicious food, the staff made me feel welcome and tended to. Well this place has died since being turned into ‘the tree’. What a shame, it used to be awesome. Service is now dire, tables are dirty. We asked what time they were doing food till, they said 8pmWe got a drink, found a table and decided what food we were going to order. Went up to the till to be told there’s no food left for the day. Brilliant! Happy to let us buy a drink before telling us that though and have all the menus out still.

The appeal of The Tree is their clear commitment to providing good quality vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals, even with a completely dedicated vegan, plant-based menu exemplifies this. It is a good venue with a hipster-vibe (if you like that!) but also displays traditional pub elements like a well-stocked supply of beers and ales.We ordered pizzas after being prompted about The Tree’s two-for-one offer on Mondays. Both pizzas were fresh and had a good balance of cheese and tomato. The Pinky (v) has the added bonus of halloumi on top of the mozzarella. Perhaps it went a little overboard on the basil pesto but the Puyol Pizza was reported to be great!Overall, The Tree clearly has quality food and a good feel. Would love to return and have something from their vegan-friendly range.

Whilst it looks like a typical vegan biased restaurant, the menu was surprisingly broad and vibrant. We went on a Sunday and the roast was excellent - actually tasting home made. The staff were very friendly as well. I recommend you take a break from the boring chain restaurants and give it a go. You won’t be disappointed.

We went to The Tree for a post Christmas get together with family.There were 7 of us and we had booked in advance.The staff were attentive. The food was reasonably priced and very tasty. No one had any complaints. They were able to cater for coeliacs vegans and vegetarians with interesting choices of food.The salad I had was very tasty and the mac and cheese was also excellent.We ended up staying for about 6 hours catching up with family and we felt comfortable and never were made to feel like we had outstayed our welcome which was great as the place was busy.We had our dog with us and she was welcome inside and was provided with a water bowl.Would recommend.

We have visited this bar on many occasions and indeed provided very positive feedback,as detailed in my last review. My wife and I called in for a drink and something to eat on Saturday. Obviously under new ownership and now trading as “The Tree”; the bar has been refurbished and the menu changed. Although Leicester City seemed very busy on the day, the bar itself seemed a little quiet and lacked it’s usual vibrant atmosphere. It’s difficult to pinpoint the reason for this, perhaps it was just a quiet period when we visited?The staff were just as lovely and polite as they previously were. The menu is not as extensive, although the food we ordered was very pleasant and reasonably priced. The interior has undergone a re-furb with some new pieces of furniture, including two very comfortable leather chesterfield sofas added. The music is chilled and adds to the ambience.The only “negative” (if there was one) was the quietness in the bar so for us the jury is out as we prefer a bustley vibrant atmosphere.

The place was OK and the staff were polite rather than friendly, it felt maybe they were trying a little hard to be cool to my cynical mind. Anyway, everything was well maintained the service was good and the drinks choice was OK. Prices were reasonable and we all had a good time with a few late night beers.

Since the refurb the bar has been brought up to date and overall has made it look smarter but still keeping up its charm. Do miss having the likes of Staropramen on draught but have since discovered new beers to try and particularly enjoy a pint of Lawless. As always brilliant staff who are friendly and quick at serving

I was quite disappointed by the food as the orange tree menu used to be amazing for vegans whereas now it’s very average before they reopened there were some lovely things on the menu such as battered tofu and vegan fish and chips (best vegan fish and chips I’ve ever had) but I’ve been told the tree now doesn’t have a fryer! Most people who would eat at the tree would want snacky food as there are plenty of places to get a vegan pizza nearby so it’s a surprise there are no chips. Before the reopening I would go to the orange tree for a meal yet now I would eat beforehand as I still think it’s a great place to drink with a great atmosphere but the food is just ok ✌️

Since changing its image/ownership I thought I would check out the changes. I was quite disappointed. For a pub/bar I was hoping to have the standard snacks of nachos or potato skins. Maybe even some chips but I was rapidly dismissed when asking about snack foods saying they don’t have any. If I wanted any food I had to order from the menu. Sides available were things like coleslaw. The menu itself looked pretty limited. Drinks were ok and I do admit their Cuba Libre was well made but with the new rebranding I found The Tree to be no different. Bit of a shame really.

Pretty disappointed with a place that I've been told has a warm welcome and great atmosphere. As me, my wife and 2 daughters were turned away as soon as we walked in. For some reason, on a Saturday, under 18's are not allowed in, even though it was 1230 in the afternoon?? We were really excited to try the vegan menu which we've heard so much about, now we feel like 2nd class citizens. Such a warm welcome.....Won't be coming back.

Thank you to Lauren and the team at The Tree. We received a warm welcome and had a table booked which we were shown to promptly. The restaurant was busy and we were served as quickly as the staff were able to, I enjoyed a delicious Expresso Martini and there is a good selection of other reasonable priced cocktails available. I couldn't decide between the lasagne and the 4 cheese pizza,but the blue cheese and crispy bacon sold it for me and it was finger licking good! The service was fantastic even though it was a very busy afternoon nothing was too much trouble for Lauren and the team. She helpfully went through the menu selections for my friend who was veggie and recommended the stew which went down a treat! We all tasted it and agreed that as meat eaters we'd order it as it was tasty and filling. Thank you for looking after us so well and we hope you enjoy the goodies I dropped in for you all. We'll be back!

My partner and I went to visit today for the first time since the place was rebranded. We wanted the vegan pepperoni pizza but were informed they were out of vegan pepperoni (they do commonly run out of vegan options from my experience) but we ended up having two vegan margarita pizzas and two cocktails for a total of £16.

The newly launched bar/restaurant in the popular High Street area of Leicester if you are in town entertaining clients or popping in for a spot of shopping. A few minutes walk from the Highcross Shopping Centre, The Tree has a great selection of dishes, including a whole host of freshly prepared pizzas topped with some wonderful traditional and home chosen toppings.

Knew that The Tree had recently reopened and after checking out the menu thought we would give a try. Nice menu and plenty of vegan options if you are looking for that. The salad and mac cheese we had were great. Good vibe too.

My friend and I had lunch at The Tree today. We were handed the menus and as we both took an interest in the vegan dishes the waitress recommended the gumbo dish. A different waitress took our orders and repeated the recommendation of the gumbo dish when I ordered it. My friend was unable to decide between 2 dishes and the waitress was extremely helpful and talked her through both dishes, she eventually ordered the mango curry.

the food is very good and well presented the broccoli and stilton frittata was delicious will certainly go again

My sister and I booked for a roast dinner on a Sunday evening, in which they took a pre order. No issues with this. After arriving and paying for drinks at a bar, we asked about our table and they simply pointed to the left. We sat ourselves down, with no menus given to us and no clear indication of an order. It just so happened after sitting confused for about ten minutes a waitress asked us if we pre ordered, and then told the kitchen we had arrived. Food came quite quickly, and it was quite nice and hot, no problems here. We had our food and our plates were taken quickly, but then nobody came to ask about desserts or the bill. We ended up going to the bar to pay and had to tell them what we ordered. Despite the restaurant and bar being relatively empty we received second to no service at all. Luckily we weren’t given the chance to leave a tip.

Popped in after a meal. Love the place. Very bohemian feel. Such a wide range of styles. Love the music and people watching.

It’s not very often you nip in to a city pub and get food cooked from scratch but you do here I opted for the Brisket lasagna and my husband had an excellent chickenburger totally yummy Can’t wait to go back .

Visited with around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, Sunday Roast option were quite limited 3 types of starter, 3 meats and 2 veggie options and 3 deserts (2 by the time we ordered) and no kids menu. Food came out quite quickly for a Sunday but was not very hot and the plate was not hot so by the time the veg came out was almost cold, but portions were good and food was tasty.

We quite often drink in the orange tree when in Leicester, we popped in on a Friday afternoon before a Friday night football game to line our stomachs...... They have a vast menu including brilliant vegan options.

went here with friends after a heavy night of drinking the night before for the cure and I was not disappointed, while it was a saturday night the place was NOT packed, drinks were easily gotten and the bouncers were very friendly. I would love to come back some time and try some cocktails.

Brilliantly priced Sunday lunch in a lovely, relaxed bar. A few issues with the bill at the end although waitress couldn’t have been any more helpful. Room for improvement on the pudding front, but all-in-all would recommend and will be returning when next in Loughborough.

Wandered into here to get a sandwich, what a great find, the best fish finger sandwich, the only downside was it was so big I couldn’t finish. Great vegan choices too, next time goats cheese and beetroot.

Visited on a Friday night with friends. It was busy, bustling and with a decent atmosphere, but still not too difficult to get to the bar to order drinks. Decent range of beers and ciders, and is becoming a regular meeting place to start the night off.

Came to this pub with Family, lovely friendly staff, good choice of beers and spirits, didn't eat here as we were going elsewhere, food looked good though when it was given to other customers, will return for food when next in the City.

The Sunday roast here used to be amazing. I found the veg to be bland and the Yorkshire was more like a cake! The meat was fine but apart from that very disappointing. Staff were lovely and attentive, just the food lacking!

The Orange Tree is a good mix between a bar and a pub. Friendly staff and good drinks and cocktails. Some of the beers are slightly on the expensive side but overall a great venue. Lovely outdoor seating for the Summer.
