Orange Cafe Bar in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Dropped in for lunch on a Saturday, what a fantastic find!! Funky and quirky vegan cafe. Loved the layout and decor. Best chai latte ever. Absolutely gorgeous tofu tacos, and the squash salad was sooo tasty. It’s dog friendly too!! Young lady was on her own front of house, and the cafe was full, she was run off her feet, but she was brilliant - well done!! Now top of our list for lunching in Mousehole!

We decided that we would visit for a Sunday Roast, Autumn is here and a ‘good’ vegan roast was required. Orange Cafe Bar did not disappoint - in fact it was even better this time round. The weather was awful and the sea was full of white horses, but we battled on to our destination. On arrival we received the warmest of welcomes as we stepped into the beautiful ambience that Mamma Dee has created. We went for 3 courses but shared a starter and dessert - we like to try something new so had the Roast Sweet Potato to begin our culinary feast, and it did not disappoint. It looked stunning on the plate and then conducted a gentle symphony in the mouth. The whipped citrus feta combined beautifully with the pomegranate, figs and tenderly roasted sweet potato. A Mamma Dee creation that you simply must try. The main event was a nut roast which was unctuous, flavoursome and filling. It jostled for attention on the plate with the perfect roasties, accompanying veg and an extra portion of cauliflower and leek cheese. The stir fried savoury cabbage deserves an extra mention as it really played its part in this platter of vegan loveliness. We couldn’t possibly leave without dessert so a warm chocolate pud with vanilla ice cream finished off our culinary experience. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. The jazz musicians were just beginning as we left - we would loved to have just opened a bottle of wine and stayed to listen to them play but we sadly had to leave the Orange Cafe bubble and return to real life. It would be unfair not to mention the welcoming waitresses who were present but not intrusive, knowledgeable and had a ‘Sunday gentleness’ aura which was just what we needed to complete our experience. Our total bill, including tip ( which was well deserved and is divided amongst all those who work front of house and also behind the scenes), for this vegan feast of divineness including alcoholic drinks was £69. A bargain in our opinion - worth every penny. Orange Cafe Bar is not just a fully vegan eatery offering a stylish interior, a thoughtful well delivered menu and welcoming staff. It’s an experience that I highly recommend. We left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. We will be back!

We loved the relaxed atmosphere of the Orange Cafe, and it served the best brunch I've had in the past few months! The portions were generous and filling, and I intend to return when in Mousehole again.

My wife and I had a delicious lunch on a wet Sunday afternoon. The style was small plates as they hadn't yet started Sunday roasts for autumn/winter. The tofu taco and buffalo cauliflower especially were amazing. Excellent range of drinks, especially the butterfly pea latte!

We ate at the Orange Cafe four times during our recent stay in Mousehole. On each occasion the food, service and ambiance was incredible. The highest praise is from our meat eating son who now has an interest in eating more vegetables!! He particularly loved the vegan classic burger and the tempura tenderstem broccoli! The owner/chef came to speak to us on each occasion to enquire how we liked the food, it was lovely to be able to complement the food and the restaurant. We only wish we lived closer. I would encourage everyone (whether vegan or not!) to try the wonderful food, you won’t regret it.

We stumbled across this lovely place today. The relaxed atmosphere and absolutely delicious food were amazing, and we'd go back tomorrow. We don't seek out plant based food but had the loaded fries and the loaded butter bean hummus to share and was superb. Fresh, delicious, tasty, and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend it.

Strolled around d Mousehole and came across this café - looked busy but there was one outdoor table left, which seemed like a sign! Realised whilst viewing the menu the cuisine was vegan - good range of small plates to choose from and plenty of drink choices (we aren't vegan, but open to visiting places which are). Food and drinks both served quickly, well presented and very tasty. Would recommend, and would visit again.

What a great find! A vegan restaurant serving excellent food, well-presented and at a very reasonable price. Ideal location, friendly staff, and the cocktails were delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Mousehole!

Found this fantastic restaurant in the beautiful town of Mousehole near Penzance. Family run, fully vegan cafe/restaurant. Absolutely stunning setting and restaurant. Knowledgeable and engaging family team who really care about the food and drinks they serve. Small (in a great way) menu of varied meals and desserts. They even have a fully vegan children’s menu. Everything we ate was excellent, from a kale, butternut squash, feta and walnut salad, oyster mushroom burger and even a vegan affogato! A large variety of cocktails as well. Being a bit of a coffee snob, I must say their espresso (their own blend of coffee bean) was about the best I’ve had in the UK. The mum and daughter team were engaging and informative and obviously genuinely care about everything they are doing. We’ve already booked again for our final night here. We’d highly recommend this for any vegan, vegetarian and anyone else (especially everyone else) to experience plant based food as it should be, tasty, interesting and very good value. Just perfect! Great vibe, fab service, amazing menu - had the best Sunday roast we've had in all of Cornwall (even better than mine) - and the choice of food was in-cred-ible!! Thanks Dee and Emerald, we can't wait to return.

This is the yummiest food even if you are not vegan. You need to book even if you think its a quiet time 9f tge year. Many of the eateries are closed in Mousehole until February so Orange is very popular. We also had great fun exploring the different coffees.

Can’t comment on the food, I’m sure it’s lovely. We drove here on a quiet January day, having checked on Google and Instagram that they were open and serving. More than half the tables were empty and everyone had already finished their main course, and yet they couldn’t serve us as they had ‘no availablilty’, which meant no food left. The server was nice, and apologetic, and asked if we wanted coffee and cake, but who wants that when they were hoping for a roast dinner? If booking is essential and there’s no food available for walk-ins at 2.30 when you close at 5pm, then you need to state this very clearly as you are a bookings-only establishment. A wasted journey, wasted parking fees, and hungry bellies while we try to find food elsewhere. Had planned to eat here several times whilst staying up the road, but won’t be back.

The staff was lovely, helpful and friendly.The burger was tasty but luke warm. I think because the cheese wasn’t melted and the actual vege burger and bun wasn’t heated through enough. The cafe was quite chilly, I kept my coat on but still felt cold. There is a fireplace there and it would have been great to see it lit to warm the place up a bit. I think the cafe could be great and it obviously is for many people but perhaps not for me.

We popped in for hot drinks whilst visiting Mousehole. The drinks, decor and customer service was brilliant! Would definitely return if we are passing through 😍

Nice roomy café one street back from the harbour with some tasty soups (beetroot and pepper) and savoury baked goods (courgette and tapenade chelsea buns and walnut scones). The staff were friendly too.

Outstanding food! We visited late on a Sunday and had the roast dinner, which was cooked to perfection. There was a choice of four plant-based roasts with all the trimmings. I would be surprised if many other restaurants in the UK offered that kind of choice for a vegan roast. Certainly the best vegan roast in Cornwall! We had the chocolate mousse afterwards which was sublime. We had a lovely chat with the owner and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. We will be returning very soon!

Really great food in a relaxed and friendly setting. The plant-based menu was imaginative and varied. The food was beautifully prepared and presented by Dee. We will certainly return!

Really welcome addition to the food offerings in Mousehole! We aren't Vegan, but wanted to experience what we had heard such good reviews about, and to try something different. The food was delicious - we chose a tapas option as there were 5 in our party, and all agreed that the food was attractively presented, the service quick and what came to table was quickly devoured! Topped it off with a fab bottle of Portuguese wine, and we were delighted that we'd booked!

We were recommended to try this fairly new veggie cafe bar in the centre of Mousehole and weren't dissapointed. Excellent starters, followed by superb mushroom linguine. Friendly staff pushing the boat out to provide a new experience in this famous seaside village.
