Ordred and collected a take away and was very good really enjoyed all the food, very good service, assistant very polite and happy

If I could mark it less than one star, I would. I have used Open Kitchen for years and very rarely had a complaint. I’m not sure if it has changed ownership, but the quality of the food is awful. Had a terrible meal this evening. I was tempted to bring the whole lot back. We will never use this place again……

We have been here five millionty times and it's great, you can see the kitchen hence the name, prices are reasonable and the food always comes really quickly and it's reasonably tasty.

This is our go-to Chinese in Sleaford due to the set meal for two. It has gone up by a couple of pounds since the last menu, but for what you get I still believe it to be good value for money. The food itself is average; ribs are nice, special fried rice is poor compared to others I have had, but the other dishes in the set are good.

Just WOW. RUDE receptionist, puts the phone down while you are still talking. Special fried rice?? With chopped cubes of meat?? YUK. And no sauce at all. NEVER AGAIN. bring back the previous owners.

We called to order food and was greeted with possibly THE most rude person ever to run front of house! She even went as far as arguing with us about what we were ordering even though it’s written that way on the menu (WHICH IS UP TO DATE ) in case anyone was wondering. Food was late out I waited 10 mins after the time and wasn’t even spoken to by their front of house until she finished snapping at another half dozen people ringing orders in. I then was shown the amount on the card reader as she obviously was far too busy to tell me herself , she then passed me my box without a thank you or a have a nice evening or even enjoy your meal (which we did not!) I then arrived home with the long awaited Chinese which for the most part was OK but the nut sauce was just a curry sauce and a bad example at that!, they forgot the prawns in the special curry and it was very watery and extremely salty so much so that it was not even eaten, my crispy beef was overdone and tasted burnt and the special fried rice had prawns that did not taste very fresh and had been de veined just very poorly!!! OVERALL A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE THAT WILL NOT BE REPEATED!!!!!!!!

We received a menu through our door a few days ago and thought we would give them a try. When I phoned they were having computer trouble and asked me to phone back, which I did and was able to order. II asked for a set dinner for three which included 9 items. I was told that that two of these items were not included in this set meal. On querying this I was asked if I was looking at the online menu. I told her that it was the new menu which I had just received but she insisted that the two items were not part of this meal. I decided to purchase one of these items seperately. The meal was delivered within the stated time but, apart from a spare rib and the rice, was not very good and definitely not value for money. Will not be using this place again.

Went to order food but the customer service was terrible ... rude telephone manner ...put me off ordering food

I thought I would give the benefit of the doubt and order another takeaway this evening. The last one was awful tonight's was just pure salt!! Safe to say we will not be ordering again!!!! Sorry.....

Not so many months ago this local restaurant was a gem. Now?......I can only assume a complete change in chefs. My choice tonight “Salt and Pepper Squid” ...used to be full of squid with a light tempura type batter, loads of chilli and salt. Tonight....Hardly any squid deep fried in a claggy, hard, almost chip fat batter......no discernible chilli, no salt. Spare Ribs Cantonese.......Rock hard and full of gristle. The only saving grace was the House Special Fried Rice which really, really good. So, £24 for some really good rice delivered to the door. Never again!!

Never had an issue with this place before everything so yummy and really cheap will definitely order from you again

Been going here for years with no complaints. Last night I thought I would have a nice chinese after a hospital visit... wish I hadn't. Egg fried rice was dry and clumped together in balls that couldn't be chewed, beef chow mein with extra beansproats (always ordered) where do I start, no flavour of chow mein, beef weird colour and chewy and where were the beansproats?Disgusting, waste of money and a massive disappointment after a crap long day.

We have been treating ourselves to takeaways for the past few years and always found them well cooked and very appetising. My favourite is the chilli beef.

After years of suffering takeaway Chinese via Luck Star in Sleaford...we drove to Open Kitchen and were rewarded by a fabulous selection of dishes. Took our own cool bag for the drive back to Folkingham...as we are too far out of the delivery area. Nice waiting area, top staff and best of all scrummy food. Kept piping hot on drive back where we devoured every mouthful.

Having tried lots of Chinese takeaways in Sleaford and being seriously disappointed and even disgusted with some of them, we have now settled on our regular being Open Kitchen. We have always had fantastic service from them and the food has always been plentiful and of good taste. Absolutely would not hesitate to reccomend this takeaway!

Ordered delivery and was told 1 hour to 1 hour 15. Then after 1.45 contacted take away, to be told food already out for delivery, and with us any minute. 30 mins later still no food (now been waiting 2 hours 15) Shop rang to say ten minutes away, and we only had to pay half price. Which was the least they could do as we had now waited an hour over the latest time they said. We still waited another 20 mins, so now 2 hours 35. When it came I asked the driver how long he had out food and he said 20 mins. So the restaurant lied when they said it had already left the shop. Then the best bit is they sent our 2 main dishes and no rice, instead there’s was a noodle dish that we didn’t order. I phoned the shop and they said they would give us £2.80 credit for the rice, but I said what am I meant to eat my dishes with, curry with outrice is not good. I apreciate places are busy, but they should stop taking orders if they are predicting 1- 1 hour 15, and it’s taking 2 hours 35.

Rather well hidden in a residential area off the mainLincoln road into Sleaford town centre. Turn left intoJubilee Grove, just before the bridge, immediate turnright, first right and the takeaway is on your right.Phoned just before 4.30 to place order and was promisedfood would be ready in 10 minutes! Arrived ten minuteslater, and after paying bill, food was ready!All portions were very generous. Hot and sour soup tastedgood, it was a little on the sweet side, but still spicy.Mussels in black bean sauce were excellent - no less than12 large juicy mussels, served without shells. I never encounteredlocal curries in Indonesia, nor in the many Indonesian restaurantsin The Netherlands, so was interested to try the Indonesiancurry, which carried a 3 chillies mark. Not as spicy as expected,but plenty of flavour. Deep fried squid and Pork with bambooshoots and water chestnuts were fairly standard. Some of thepork was rather fatty.Overall, a good value meal. Polite service on phone and at counter.Very fast service and you can watch the cooks preparing the foodthrough the large window, so you can see that the standard ofcleanliness is very good.

Had a meal delivered and basically only the rice and sweet and sour sauce were enjoyable. Pork balls for sweet and our pork were huge and seemed to contain a hunk of tough roast pork. Crispy noodles resembled and tasted like a bird's nest and the accompanying dish contained a collection of slimy and/or tough meats. Mostly in the bin. A waste of money I'm sorry to say. On the plus side it arrived quickly and hot.

The meal-deal offers really are excellent value for money. Great tasting dishes delivered to your door.

One of the dishes we ordered was Beef and Tomato. When we got it home we had orange floating things on the top which resembled cheddar cheese. We phoned and the nice lady told us it was egg......whatever it was was not nice. The Yong Chow rice was egg fried with a bit of canned, cubed ham and some char Su. Not encouraging.However the S/S Chicken Balls were well cooked,plentiful and served with a Sour, not Sweet sauce. We liked the fact that there was no MSG to make it thicken.We did not enjoy the meal but it will be to the taste of lots......

I have had takeaways fromthe open kitchen many times in the past. Very nice food, very reasonable prices and always cooked fresh.

Ive tried all the Chinese takeaways in Sleaford and this is by far the best one. Quick service and excellent food.

Different lady of staff on when called, very rude told us that a a dish which was on menu wasn't!!!! Total lie. No good... Delivery 1.5 hrs... Sorry but not happy with service at all.

Unfortunately the sweet and sour chicken balls left a lot to be desired. Soggy undercooked batter spoilt the experience.

Use the open kitchen many times and always have a great meal. Salt and pepper prawns combined with the malay curry sauce is top notch.

Went here based on the good reviews but based on our food I honestly can’t see how they are rated so highly?? 2 dishes tasted of the same sweet and sour sauce ( I didn’t order sweet and sour!) and the 3rd was just watery and bland. Egg fried rice was also meh and not very flavourful. Ribs as other people have stated were a large chunk of chewy belly and prawn toast had very little prawn on and just tasted greasy. I was gutted as we have just moved to the area and thought we’d struck gold with a good localish takeaway but sadly looks like we will be going elsewhere.

Can't fault this place. Eat from here fairly regularly and off all the Chinese take outs in Sleaford (7 I think), this is by far the best in our opinion.

This is an absolute gem of a place to find. Food is fantastic no matter what dish you chose with friendly counter staff. Unbelievably quick service to say how busy that they are. I would thoroughly recommend to any Chinese food fan.

We decided to get a Chinese takeaway and only having moved to the area fairly recently this was our first takeaway meal. I will say that the portions were good and so were the prices, but it seemed to be quantity over quality. The food was not very flavoursome and we ended up throwing most of the food away.

Good food and service . Quick delivery , will use again liked all the dishes we had lots of choice on menu.

Great food, great portions, great staff. We looked on line for the menu, ordered, picked it up, and were delighted when we opened the bag. Even had some left over for the next days lunch!

This is our go too takeaway. Never had a bad meal from here. It caters for all tastes. Even the faddy ones. Very efficient staff. excellent service.

called in here due to hearing good reports about the place. service was ok and the place was very busy. loads of cars trying to park outside. the food is obviously fresh and you can see through to the kitchen. unfortunately the taste of the food was no different to your average chinese takeaway. all the dishes looked a sullen grey colour. we normally use the jade dragon near the railway station. there was simply no comparison in the taste nor appearance of the food. we ordered about 7 dishes off the menu including fillet steak in black pepper sauce. this is not fillet steak!! its purely roast beef. why sell something thats wrongly described? so all in all disappointing.

After reading reviews on TA we decided to order from the Open Kitchen several times when visiting Sleaford. We had the House Special noodles,crisy noodles and Malay fried noodles, The food tasted v fresh. Fresher than our local Chinese, We were impressed with the food overall and price was good too in our opinion. Would have no hesistation in returning again.My only regret is that I didn't see Udon noodle on the menu.

Neither myself nor my wife felt like cooking on Sunday evening so remembering a flyer we received from Open Kitchen we ordered a meal to be delivered. Delivery charge was only £1 so it was a no brainier. The delivery time was within the hour after ordering. It was a very tasty meal, hot when delivered and well worth the money. It is true to say we will be ordering from them again in the future.

The Staff are all friendly and always go out of there way to help. The menus is clear and the food is the best Chinese Takeaway probably in the whole of Lincolnshire. I travel alot and I always order from here.

The sweet n sour chicken balls were ok. The other two dishes of beef in black bean sauce and special noodles were tasteless. In fact the latter stunk of fish. Was truly awful. Visited to give this place a go. Waste of £18. Won't ever return and I'm no fussy eater.

We can't get delivery due to our location and it is a 20 min drive each way but is always worth it. Have always had great food and even though we live a way away is still hot when it gets to ours.You can place a telephone order for collection and staff always polite and helpful. We tried a few others in the area and were sorely disappointed. Highly recommend.

Visited here a few times now and I am always very please with the food here,the taste and the quality is amazing,the taste is a lot lighter and more refreshing than others I've had in the past ,from now on I don't think I'll be going any where else

Was looking for some chinese food one evening and glad I stumbled onto this place. Food prepared in front of you. I've been back a few times since and always happy. Portions are large. They also provide a delivery service which was very quick despite being told 45-60 mins.

Found this takeaway by chance online, offers Chinese, Indonesian and Malaysian dishes. As someone said don't be put off by the location, the food is perfect. No grease, crunchy vegetables, light and fresh tasting. The Indonesian beef curry was the best I've had in the UK. Good friendly service, I'm happy to do the 16 mile round trip anytime for this place.

simply the best Chinese takeaway in Sleaford. Order early as gets very busy. The telephone system stores your details which makes subsequent ordering really easy. Set meals are excellent and well priced.

If you want a good Chinese in the area and at a reasonable price then this is where I would send you. Parking is a bit of a nightmare being on edge of an estate tucked off the main drag of shops behind Homebase. They have a big window so you can see food being made. They are friendly and helpful and great with kids. They do a brill meal deal during week which is popular with us. Always good food. And they deliver too. They have never been late and food is very tasty.

Read the reviews! Misleading star rating - people giving 3 stars but stating they would never eat there again? Ordered from here tonight after seeing all the great reviews... Perhaps Sleaford has never known good Chinese because this is most certainly not good Chinese food! I ordered the meal deal - chicken curry and egg fried rice in one box. The egg fried rice took over 3/4 of the box, the 1/4 filled with curry had hardly any sauce, plenty of chicken and all manner of odd vegetables not stated on the menu - such as carrots. I have ordered Chinese chicken curry from at least 10 different Chinese takeaways and never once did it contain carrots!The curry had a very strange smell to it - a spice I can't put my finger on that would not normally have been present in a chicken curry. Upon tasting the curry it tasted exactly like it smelt - nothing like curry, just of this one strange spice. It was also the greasiest mouthful of food I have ever put in my mouth - and I genuinely don't mind greasy food. The chips I ordered were ridiculously salty and cold after the 10 minute drive home. The only good thing about this place is that they gave me a full refund. Would never eat here again.

We visited this takeaway last night as our usual was closed, we have tried others in the town but always found bland or greasy, anyway we came across open kitchen from the reviews. Lovely and clean premises, staff very polite, great to be able to watch the chefs, and the food, well the special fried rice was to die for as well as the noodles, seaweed, chips and chicken balls, this takeaway will now become our regular.

Me and my partner ordered food from here after discovering our normal Chinese takeaway was now shut on a Wednesday so I searched 5 star rating Chinese takeaways in sleaford open kitchen came as one of the first so I looked at the reviews and all seemed good so I placed my order ... Absolutely fabulous gorgeous food the egg fried rice was to die for and the delivery time was unbelievable both me and my partner thought it would of been reheated food with the time it took to get here quick is a understatement :) highly recommend this takeaway and would imagine the Restuarant to be extremely nice to , food was so tasty I didn't want it to end haha the only thing I would say is the sweet and sour chicken balls could of done with being a little more crispy but other than that ... PERFECT so pleased the menu will not be leaving my bedroom draw ;) will definitely be making this our new Chinese takeaway :).

So I had previously ordered with another chinese and had waited 3 hours with no delivery! So I rang open kitchen. The lady was very good, she put our order in with another order in our area so only had to wait 30 mins and gave us free prawn crackers even though our previous appalling order was not there fault. The food is devine and I will definitely be using open kitchen for all my future Chinese orders! Thank you for a great service!

We always look forward to our takeaways from here. They offer a splendid box meal deal during week days which is plenty of food for one at a cracking price. The staff are lovely and will try their best to accommodate for your tastes and dietary requirements. Very fast service!

We love our regular Chinese Takeaway meals from 'The Open Kitchen'. Food is always excellent and plentiful, and is very reasonably priced. Delivery is always earlier than advised. Cannot fault it at all.

Every time we visit the take away we are always greeted with a smile, the food is cooked in through a window so you can see it being freshly prepared and cooked whilst sitting in the waiting area. You can either watch TV whilst waiting, read the daily news paper or look at the koi carp they have in the little pond in the waiting area. It is very modern in there and a relaxing atmosphere knowing your not cooking that night! The food is always tasty! And nice and fresh, also there is so much choice on the menu. They do a great deal called the budget meal box, it is £3.20 and you choose from the selected meals with either rice or chips and it is so worth the money, plenty for one persons meal. That is served Sunday- Thursday nights. Another feature why I personally like is when you phone up for a delivery, they have your name, number and address saved on their computer system so you don't need to tell them each time! Normally when I go collection waiting time is around 15 minutes, but you can phone prior to this and have it ready for a certain time. Delivery usually around 45 mins. Deliver times is 17:00 - 22:00. On my experience of going there for many years now I would highly recommend and I definitely think it's the best Chinese around for service, and most importantly fresh delicious tasting food!

I have had food from every Chinese in sleaford and these guys are without doubt, the best around here! Great food cooked fresh (you can actually see them cooking it!!!) at brilliant prices! The staff are all so friendly and polite! We often eat here as we love it and won't have a take away from anywhere else! The delivery service is brilliant too! Always friendly and (for us) always on time too with food as hot as the moment it left the building!! I can't recommend this place enough!!! If I could give them a higher score I really really would!!!

Friends had told us about Open Kitchen, the food was ok.....I had veggie chow mein rice noodles, they didn't taste very nice and the curry sauce was that great either! Everyone else like there's and we're happy, I must of got a bit dish. I dont know if I would go back? Price for everything wasn't bad and you did get a lot. Over all I was would say give a go and see what you think!

Of all the chinese takeaways in the area Open Kitchen has to be the best. It is the most authentic, with the best quality food and service. Although the prices are a few pennies per dish more than their competition, the quality is far superior and worth the extra couple of pounds on a full family meal order.They also have their menu online, which is very handy!

Really good food with huge portions. The only down side is the delivery service, never delivered within the timescale. Then when you ring up to enquire where your food is, they say its running late.

Once again good value Chinese takeaway. One portion of chips & rice is enough for 3 people. Plus there's always enough curry to freeze a portion for another day.

This is a great Takeaway. Very fast, efficent and food is lovely. I love to see them cooking the food through the window and the place looks and feel clean. The food is always delicious and hot even after travelling 20 mins to get home. I pass several chineses to get to this one.

I love this place!! Excellent value for money you get gorgeous food for a low price. The chicken can be hit and miss sometimes but generally 90% of the time it is good. The portion sizes are incredible and taste is amazing. Definitely recommended to all.

As away with business staying in a local hotel, I thought I would get a take away. It was ready quickly but the satay chicken was really stringy and fatty almost. The large pancake roll was awful and after one bite I left it - yuk !The portion sizes were good but would I eat here again - definitely NOT

Best tasting Chinese food around on top of which amazing value, generous sized portions. Plus when I call from my mobile that always know it's me as they have my number stored, that makes me feel special. Highly recommend

We always go to Open Kitchen, really tasty, huge portions and not expensive. The delivery time is pretty fast too. Wont go anywhere else. :)

Always good value for money as you get such generous portions. We either order less or freeze a portion for another day. I love the pork curry & any dish with king prawns as they really are king-size prawns.
