Great night out! Live band too! Food very good, staff were lovely and worked hard, it was a busy night

I visited today for a change from my usual pub. When I walked in just after 4pm it was pretty quiet. The male staff member at the bar chose not to respond to my friendly greeting, he just looked at me. So I ordered my drink, no please or thank you from the same staff, in fact it seemed like an effort for him to speak at all. I ordered food on the app with a drink, I had to go fetch the drink myself as it was clear the staff were not going to respond to the order. Again no personality whatsoever from the male bar staff..and no apology for not being bothered to bring my order. My food came after half an hour, the pub was not busy so I'm not sure what took the time. I had pizza, it was ok but nothing special..the staff didn't come over to me to ask if everything was OK with the food, I thought this was standard in most pubs now.. Overall, can you learn your staff some manners, and ask them to actually speak to their customers.. Edited..when i went in again a couple of weeks later things were totally different, staff were lovely, very pleasant, and the food was beaut!! I now visit regularly xx

Helen was so bubbly really friendly aswell as the other staff but she stood out with her personality and how she looked after us One bad thing I will say is it was cold so had to ask for the heating but apart from that I would defo recommend

The food was of very poor quality, sub-standard pub. Our food and drinks were given to another table and left there without even asking them to confirm it was theirs. They had a live band on Saturday which sounded awful. The toilets were disgustingly dirty and it was not even the end of their opening times.

Went for a breakfast at opening time 11 00 staff friendly and as we were first in service was ok we all had breakfasts and my only complaint was coffee and tea luke warm food was ok and well presentes

A girl maddie gave me exceptional service very welcoming would recommend.

Hosted a meet and greet social for BCU Hockey and it was an amazing space with great vibes for everyone to get to know each other. Would deffo host more sober/drinking socials there for the team!!

We had booked a table for half 4 and it came to 6pm and we had still not managed to order,they had hardly anything that we could have , when we had finally managed to order our food from what they had in, we have a 30 minute wait for our food and when it had come it was disappointing, the double grilled chicken burger had given one of us food poisoning and the chicken was raw and inedible. The only good thing about the Harborne o neills was the manager who was very apologetic and happy to try and help us.

The staff are always friendly, attentive, and provide excellent service. Whether you're there for a casual meal or a lively evening with live music, the vibe is always welcoming and enjoyable. Their menu is great, and the drinks never disappoint. It's easily one of the best places to unwind, and you'll always have a good time! Highly recommend stopping by for a fun night out.

After coming here a few different times I have to say that it is now easily one of my favourite places to come out for drinks and food. The service is always fast and friendly. The food is always great and comes out quickly too. And having live music always tops the night off. Great times every time! 🥳

As somebody who works in hospitality I fully understand that it can be a long day for the guys who work in our industry but today’s behaviour from the guy with long hair and nail polish was atrocious I walked in and before I ordered was told they was closing in 15 mins which was not the issue the issue was the fact the guy grunted as I ordered and then when I was one sip from finishing my pint (10mins later) he walked over and demanded I finished as they are closing the manner in which he delivered this message was rude and unnecessary I had to speak to the manager and as I spoke to the manager the guy stood there throwing his arms up in the air at which point I had to ask him to leave as I was speaking to the manager this guy really needs to rethink if he is hospitality material as in my opinion his actions showed the attitude of a guy who didn’t care about hospitality at all I hope he is in the right industry and hope he is trained to be great but tonight was a real disappointment as it was my first time in since the change over

Sad to say this never made it to a proper Irish bar even on a Saturday late evening early as well bar staff not interested band well I can only say omg never again lead singer was all about himself playlist needs looking at to make the most of a set I wouldn’t return again I have asked about bands coming up staff didn’t know ….how can you have a “Irish bar “ with no Irish band or “associated band “ booked in 🥴

I live in Harborne and have been to O’Neills a few times for food which is great food. The bar staff are normally polite and helpful. My Son and I went up just after 6 for dinner. We asked the girl working behind the bar what time they finished serving food at? She replied “10pm or maybe 9”.We’d made it clear we were there for dinner.So we ordered a drink and sat down. After ordering our second drink around 7.40pm we looked at the menu and went up to order our meals, we were waiting 15+ minutes before any staff turned up (even after us and another customer asking for assistance)! The same young lady appeared and we began ordering our food, to which she said “sorry the kitchen is closed” To say we were fuming isn’t the right word!!! She’d obviously knew we were there for food and knew the kitchen had closed but didn’t have the common sense or decency to tell us. I was especially exhausted after only getting back from holiday the day beforehand. The girl did apologise but it was obvious she didn’t have much common sense and had been left on the bar by herself and I think this may have been her first time working in a bar. There were no managers around at all, or any other staff to be seen inside the pub. We ended up having to walk in the freezing rain to get a takeaway which we could’ve done in the first place!! Maybe a big shake up of staff or better training is needed? As I’ve said some staff are really nice, but a few are ignorant, rude and obviously don’t want to be there. Absolutely disgusted, I’ll be keeping an eye out, hopefully something is done to make customers feel less like they are an inconvenience and more like the customer’s who pay good money to keep the pub open and are given the service we deserve and is advertised on the O’Neills website!! !

Good breakfast especially Irish breakfast, Veggie breakfast also good here. The staff are all friendly and helpful and attentive.

Love this place. Ever since it opened they have had lots of offers, have been very friendly and helpful. Sue is an absolute star. She always seems to be there and nothing is too much trouble. It just makes the whole experience such a pleasure. A home away from home when you need to just chill for a bit in comfort and the food is fab. Can’t fault this place.

I went into ONeils last Saturday with a couple of friends. I was served by a lovely lad called Louis. He was most helpful especially as I am partially deaf and was very patient. Also I need gluten free options and he was exceptionally clear and made sure requirements were meet Outstanding service Thank you Louis

Came for food with my wife, this place never fails to amaze us! The food was 10/10 and the service was brilliant! We did the 5 plates deal and got the king prawns, chicken wings, Guinness BBQ fries, Irish croquets and beef tacos, absolutely beautiful. Chefs were Shane and Emily and we was served by Randall. Been to the one in town a couple of times, not keen on it and the vibes in there. Me and my sister went here and it was great. Service was quick and all the servers were very friendly and helpful. I always think food is a bit pricey for what it is but would absolutely come here again!

A friendly, welcoming place with good price drinks and a tempting food menu. The chicken, ham and cheese pie, plus sides went down well with a nice red wine. A venue to be heartily recommended.

Good food and atmosphere. Helen our waitress was fantastic and really looked after us for my wife's birthday. We will be back again soon

I have to write a review the bar staff are so welcoming Dan and Amy are so lovely to customers Amy had an old gentleman come in and I watched the way she was with him it was patient kind she didn't even know how good she was, Dan always smiling and remembers which whiskey my husband has when you finish work you just need a friendly place and I noticed other night Ollie even had chef whites on day after England final again lovely he is nothing too much trouble as the same with Helen they are a great team and credit to the guys who employed them. We enjoy this place thank you Liz and John Rowley

Since the refurb/rebrand to O'Neills I been quite a few times. Easily the best pub in Harborne now! Food, top notch and great selection of beers (inc craft). Live music and sport. Can't recommend this place enough. Cheers!

Grew up in Harborne and this pub used be a no go zone when it was The Vine, even when doing the Harborne Run you would be in and out as soon as possible. So when a friend said it was now an O'Neills and to try it out I was really surprised, staff were very friendly and service was exceptional, food was good and had a great night all round, well done pn turning things around for this pub!

Such a lovely place. Welcoming security team, lovely bar staff amd all round great atmosphere. We will be back Sunday to watch the final!

We went here for a family lunch. The pub is lovely inside with a good choice of drinks and food. The service was friendly and quick, will definitely be returning.

This is one of the worst experiences i have had, i have visited this pub a few times with no issues, however on this specific occasion to watch an England match, the security wouldn’t let these 3 fellas in, upon listening to the conversation it would seem that the security was racial profiling. I was outside smoking and overheard the security say, typical N word! I approached them to ask what they meant and quickly they tried to change the subject. Unacceptable and disgusting. I will be never visit this place again. I hope the security at the door and spoken to about this behavior because its unacceptable.

Tried to watch the England football match vs Netherlands here but got turned away. Got told two separate reasons, initially got told the place was at max capacity then someone specifically matching my description got turned away from another bar. Second reason was a blatant lie and can only imagine it was because me and my friends were tall black figures. Only wanted a place to watch the football but it is a shame to see such blatant racism around in the 21st century. Waited 20mins during half time to speak to the Manager about this but to no success. Will be staying at home to watch the football next time or a different venue.

Great place but security on the doors are an absolute disgrace! head doorman and his accomplise turned away a guy calling out racial names trying to provoke him to enter the premises so they could put hands on him. Not the type of behaviour to be expected when the poor guy was trying to enter respectfully just to watch a match and enjoy his night Can definitely say I won’t be attending this venue anymore and will be telling everyone I know to avoid it!

O'Neil's is a great addition to the high street, turning a former run down venue into an up market but down to earth feel of a pub. The staff, especially Susan makes you feel very welcome and always goes the extra mile, and is a credit to the team there. I would definitely recommend visiting and trying the food too. There is plenty of varied seating inside and out, with lots of TVs for all the sports you can watch.

First time of going to ONeils and I loved it. People were so friendly, decor was great but absolutely loved the live band and the music from the DJ before and after. Great atmosphere and great to have a dance. Only disappointment was the choice of real ales 🍺

Had a lovely meal with family on Saturday. The lady who served us was extremely helpful and went out of her way to help us.

I call in for the mega irish breakfast a couple of times a week. It’s always perfectly cooked and great value at £8.95 with quality ingredients. Well presented too. Sue who took my order was great and very attentive. Five stars.
