We visited for a Mother’s Day lunch, we ordered the never ending Sunday lunch which was served with the cuts of meat on the plate and vegetables in sliver dish , we was expecting it to all be served on a sharing board like previous visits , when we questioned it we were told the table was not big enough , at no point was this explained when we ordered. Our waitress was very slow , we asked for more meat and vegetables took a good 20 minutes to arrive . The lamb was chewy and the Sirloin was over salted , quality of meat was poor . At no point was we asked if we would like extra drinks or if everything was ok with our meal , service was shocking . I asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill and will not return . Disappointing meal which should have been an enjoyable Mother’s Day lunch .

Booked a table for 3pm, didn’t get seated until 3:40pm. Bar staff were lovely made drinks that weren’t directly on the menu which was super nice. Once seated at the table, food was a let down. What was advertised on the menu was not what was brought out. However when I asked for the food to taken off the bill they agreed no questioned asked which I appreciate. Service at the table was poor for drink service until we went up to the waiters. However staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Steak was lovely- that was about it.

The service was impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, ensuring we had the best experience possible. The atmosphere was elegant but comfortable, making it ideal for both special occasions and casual fine dining. An amazing steak place with good quantity steak especially the marinated ones. The sauces are good as well. The menu to share is not for sharing between 2 people though, more like one proper meal with 2 sides and 2 sauces while an ordinary steak would have one side and a sauce. Decent desert menu. Tried the prawns in the starter, it is amazing.

Fantastic venue. Great choice of drinks and wines however the food is unbelievably good. It’s full of flavour and cook to perfection. Thank you for having us and for this unforgettable dinner date experience.

Booked a table for two on Saturday night,was put next to a party of 10 which were extremely loud so we asked to be moved,we ordered 2 Ribeye steaks which my partners was extremely fatty and full of gristle and at least of it was not eaten. The brocoli was not aldente but raw,having eaten there on a few occasions I was very disappointed with the meal and for the price we paid for two mains and a bottle of wine £198.00 we will not be recommending going to the Birmingham branch to anyone which is very disappointing.

Absolutely beautiful food from this little hidden gem. We went at lunch time which highly recommend. Our server Pavel was so attentive. He explained the different steaks, recommended cocktails which were delish. The starter was gorgeous and plentiful. We shared the Chateaubriand. wow just wow best steak we've ever had. We will definitely be back 😊

After reading good reviews we were excited to dine here but unfortunately we had an awful experience. Food came unseasoned, burnt and service was poor. No cutlery and seasoning on table and neither were offered. Spoke to manager who was rude, undermining and belittling.Poor customer service and care for the dining experience considering the price. Would not recommend or dine here again.

My new favourite restaurant 😍 The steak was divine, the service was impeccable, the atmosphere was perfect. We felt looked after and welcomed from start to finish. I cannot fault this place and I look forward to going again. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Great steak, quite expensive but definitely worth it. My one moan is they offer you water for your table but don't say you will be charged for it. At £5.50 a bottle I wouldn't have bothered.

Honestly I couldn't be more disappointed. We booked our table for our friends surprise birthday for 8.15 we didn't sit down at the table till 9. The server was unbelievably rude. It wasn't till after 10 we got our food and it was terribly salty.

Staff excellent, very professional but friendly. Enjoyed my steak. Starters and sides were great too and not just an after thought.

We were sat for 45mins before our order was taken. The Waitress was rude when she came over. We actually felt like we were bothering her. Wouldn't recommend

Great food, good choice of beers and very good service!

Went for Valentine’s Day and split the Gaucho sampler. Meat was fine but not very tender or medium rare for the cuts besides the fillet and the ribeye. The two starters we had were amazing: salmon taco and carpaccio. Gave four stars ONLY because the service (and our waiter) was impeccable and we enjoyed it overall. We wouldn’t go back though as it was way too overpriced for the cuts of steak you get. We knew it wouldn’t be insane or anything but we definitely expected more.

Our server Matt was amazing He explained everything in detail we were out for a birthday treat 6 of us!! P.s make you get that £25 cash tip! What a legend!!!

We really enjoyed our evening here for friends birthday.Everything was 5*. Everything from the welcome, to the service from the waiting staff. The quality and taste of the food was fantastic. The drinks selection was very good. The overall vibe in the restaurant was a nice buzz for a Thursday evening, we all had a great meal no complaints so will definitely return and recommend to others. Thanks to all the lovely staff at Gaucho Birmingham!

Unlike other Gauchos that I’ve been to , acceptable but could do a lot better

I visited the Argentina Core restaurant as a follow-up to an award I had received the previous day because I wanted to celebrate with my parents. I must say that the meat was excellent, and all the dishes were very tasty. The only thing I would mention is the dessert I ordered—a brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream—which wasn’t quite what I expected. I think it could use a bit of improvement. However, overall, it is an outstanding restaurant, and I would definitely recommend it. For the main course, we ordered the meat platter, which includes four premium beef cuts: rump, ribeye, sirloin, and filet. While it is on the pricier side, I believe it is a great option for three people.

We dined at Gaucho last night with friends and had an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff making sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was also very enjoyable, creating a great setting for a relaxed and memorable evening. We will definitely be coming back again! Highly recommend!

Worst Gaucho I’ve ever visited (and it’s mine 5+). The restaurant itself is very cozy, beautiful decor, very central location, service is quite good and professional as always. Unfortunately the most important aspect - food - was TERRIBLE. I ordered steak, lobster, Mac n cheese and a salad. Steak cut that was brought to me was subpar, absolutely below Gaucho standards. More than that it was unevenly cooked (cause the piece was very uneven and low quality) - parts were rare, part medium well (I ordered medium rare). Lobster tail was dry and without flavor. My expectations from Gaucho are much higher, this was extremely disappointing night.

They have definitely improved their service and the foods a little bit better I quite enjoyed my meal

Crabs we're okay but cold Prawn starters were soooo good Gaucho sampler did not disappoint 👏🏼😍 We needed a halal menu and the waiter was very clear about which items we should avoid in that case. They're all really friendly and professional. Gabby was an angel when dealing with our table. Would come back again!!

I have visited Gaucho Birmingham with out a booking and was warmly greeted by the manager. He was very accommodating to allow a party of 6, the host Borja was exceptional at looking after us and keep the drinks coming and the manager checked on us to make sure we are having a good time .

Great first impression from being our arrival , sittin at the bar and and being served by Adina who customised the cocktails for us. The rest of the evening did not dissapoint either with gorgeously presented diahes and atrentive service from waiter and the manager

Visited this place with my partner for our anniversary and we have had an amazing experience ! Everything from the start to the end was amazing. Food was exceptional, everything beautifully seasoned, steak with sauce honestly delicious. Service was excellent, food and drinks was arriving with perfect timing. Will come back soon and definitely recommend to my friends and family!

Edit: this place has gone down hill. The chef can't even cook a steak to medium properly. The guy waiting on our table looks sloppy. Gaucho used to have levels, now they have compromise on many things. If you're looking for quality don't come here.

Got recommended Gaucho by a friend so I thought I would take the partner for her 30th. I didn’t mention anything at the restaurant as I wanted to have a nice quiet meal and didn’t want any fuss. Firstly the chap who looked after us was incredible, he was quick, friendly, talkative and I cannot fault him one bit. We ordered our main as neither me or my partner wanted a starter so I had the 400g rib eye and my partner had the fillet. Before we actually get to the food review, I need to mention one thing that blew my mind - We were only given some sort of butter knife to cut the steaks with which is the first time I have ever experienced that at a steakhouse, I have never in my life (even at Wetherspoons) paid for a steak at a restaurant and not received a sharp knife to cut it with. I had to ask the waiter for one and he said they didn’t have any which was bizarre, in the end he managed to find one and kindly brought it out but come on guys, for a fancy restaurant charging the prices you do, at least supply quality cutlery. This brings me to the next part - the food. My partners fillet steak she really enjoyed but all meals come with one side where other steak houses will come with a bit more like Miller and Carter comes with lettuce and an onion loaf - my rib eye that I paid 50 pounds for was as tough as old boots, I asked for medium rare but it was actually closer to blue and it was full of so much gristle and fat that it was so hard to cut through and chew, you can imagine the challenge I faced when I had to use this blunt knife they provided (hence why I was forced to ask for something sharper!!) They supply some sauce with the meal which I didn’t like the sound of so I asked to switch to peppercorn so what did they do? They literally charged me an extra 4 pounds for the smallest pot of peppercorn sauce which I thought was a bit cheeky, at least just split the difference? The only positive highlight of the food was the dessert, the cheesecake I had was incredible and I expressed this to our waiter, no complaints there. Finally my partner ordered a tea with her dessert and was told it would come out at the same time, it never came out so I had to ask someone where it was and they brought it out but the tea bag was ripped and tea leaves were floating round the water and I assumed they would waive this off the bill since they forgot about it. I received the bill at the end and I thought it would be like 130-140 really but the overall bill was 185 with the tea they forgot about left on and a 12% service fee which pushed it a bit for me! Overall when you walk in to Gaucho, it’s a beautiful fancy aesthetic with brilliant service which clearly must be what you pay for because it certainly isn’t the food. I will definitely be sticking with Miller and Carter as I have never had to leave a bad review with them because they never miss. How can you charge so much for such a poor cut of steak and not even supply the appropriate cutlery? Won’t be returning and in all honesty, I feel robbed. I have emailed the Birmingham branch with the same feedback but I feel people should probably reconsider before paying such a big price because you’ll get far better for less at other steakhouses. What a shame. An overpriced, pretentious experience.

Went for anniversary meal. Our waiter was Chris, he was really friendly and provided a fantastic service. He was extremely helpful and made our experience very enjoyable. The food was also very nice. Would definitely go again.

I recently came here for lunch with my sister and we had a fantastic experience. Our waitress was very accommodating and told us all the dishes that were suitable for our halal diet. The food was exceptional and we had a surprise slice of cake at the end of our meal to celebrate my sister’s birthday which was a lovely gesture. Thanks once again for a great meal!

When we arrived at the restaurant, our table was not ready, and we were kept waiting in the lobby for half an hour. This situation upset us, and we thought they could have at least offered us some drinks. Once our table was ready, a very polite and attentive waiter introduced us to the different cuts of meat. He was exceptionally good at his job. They offered us a 15% discount for the wait, which we found to be a very thoughtful and kind gesture. We really enjoyed the meats, the complimentary sides, and the sauces that came with them. We had wanted to try the burger, but unfortunately, we didn’t like it as much as we hoped.

Food was lovely and most of the service was lovely. However, the front of house staff were too busy talking amongst themselves to acknowledge us which we found quite rude but other than that we had a lovely time

We recently dined at Gaucho and had an outstanding experience. We had couple negronies at the bar while we were waiting for our table. I was impressed from the begging, Harry makes best negronies in town. Regarding food, the steak was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and a true highlight of the meal. The sides, including creamy mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables, were equally impressive. The wine list offered excellent pairings, and we chose a rich Malbec that complemented the steak beautifully. What truly set this visit apart was the service from the manager. He was attentive and knowledgeable and made us feel right at home, enhancing the entire experience. If you're looking for top-notch food and service, Gaucho is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!

Lovely place!! Took my mom here for her birthday and they made it super special for her. I would like to thank the staff working this shift ( chris and George) they where so welcoming and lovely. The food was amazing and came out very quick.

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant recently and can say without a doubt that it was an amazing experience. The environment is welcoming and well cared for, with a relaxing atmosphere that makes you immediately feel at ease. The service was impeccable: the staff were friendly, professional and ready to recommend delicious dishes. The cuisine is the real strong point: dishes prepared with the freshest ingredients and surprising flavor combinations. I particularly appreciated the variety on the menu, which combines tradition and innovation with great skill. Each course was a small masterpiece, both from the point of view of taste and presentation. One of a kind. I tried a platter full of different steaks and a very nice wine. All were just great, the food, staff, the table and atmosphere. The prices were ok, I mean you should expect steak-level prices when you go there. I'd go there a thousand times again.

First restaurant ive ever been to that doesn't have steak knives for steak. If your going to provide tough and fatty cuts of steak you should at least have proper knives for your guests.

Had the sirloin steak from the festive menu and have to say it was impeccable to the taste buds! Shame its the only halal option on the menu as would have loved to have come more often to try other items but shame.. guess one in a blue moon is ok

Como amante de la papa, me decepcionó el puré ya que había sido sobre salado, lo que provocó que el resto de mi comida se contaminara, ya que era todo lo que podía probar. El chimichurri era encantador y la carne de res que gotea salsa era rica y sabrosa. Los cócteles se equilibraron perfectamente y delicioso. Nuestro servidor era genial y nunca estaba demasiado lejos para reponer bebidas y comprobar que todo estaba bien una vez que habíamos pedido. Cuando llegamos por primera vez, la persona que nos recibió pensó que era mejor terminar su conversación con lo que parecía ser otro miembro del personal antes de vernos. Una vez sentados, nos preguntaron si queríamos agua para la mesa y nos dijeron que alguien vendría a tomar nuestro pedido de bebidas. Habrían pasado unos 10 minutos antes de que mi compañero decidiera que iría al bar a pedir ya que aún no habíamos recibido el agua para la mesa. Una vez que había regresado nuestro servidor entonces vino y preguntó lo que nos gustaría, le explicamos que habíamos ido al bar a pedir y fue a comprobar. Una vez que regresó, me habían hecho la bebida incorrecta que luego fue rectificada. En general, fue una buena salida, pero por el costo que esperaría que el servicio sea un poco más puntual.

Visitamos el lunes por la noche para un regalo especial de aniversario, lo que un desastre de principio a fin, tuvimos un camarero que corrió por el restaurante como Basil defectuoso. Nos cobró por un gran castillo Briand cuando pedimos un pequeño para compartir, nos cobraron por grande que también nos cobraron por nuestros dos lados de salsa que debería haber sido incluido. El servicio de mesa era lento sin que nadie comprobara si necesitábamos algo. Cuando llegó la factura estaba totalmente equivocado con un £ 21. 50 cargos por servicio y cargos extras cuando desafiamos a nuestro camarero dijo que habíamos pedido un filete grande para compartir e intentó decir que nuestras salsas no estaban incluidas y continuó sobre las dos de cortesía que nos había dado que no queríamos o pedimos, al final se nos hizo sentir que estábamos equivocados y fue nuestra culpa. Al final la chica intentó reembolsarnos 8 libras por salsas, pero en lugar de reembolsarla, volvió a sacarla de la cuenta de mi marido. Nos dieron el precio del filete a lo que debería haber sido, pero toda la noche fue un desastre nunca más: (tuvimos una bebida de cortesía cada uno para nuestro aniversario, pero esto fue antes del desastre, creo que el camarero estaba tratando de ser inteligente, pero hizo todo lo posible para estafarnos, realmente creo que deberíamos ser reembolsados nuestro cargo por servicio, ya que el lugar es impactante. También es un poco raro cuando Basil seguía cantando feliz cumpleaños para sí mismo 🤷‍♀️

I only went to have a drink, rather expensive at £14 for a single g&t. Toilets were somewhat of a challenge very dark corridors (black) with an M and W on toilet doors. Unfortunately hard to read, the toilet area is also very dark with a tiny light for which I could only just see. Shame because it looks really nice.

Chain restaurant with authentic Argentine flavors! Be sure to make a reservation. The starter, beef tartare, was average, but the shrimp ceviche was much better, with a fresh and tangy flavor. The highlight of the menu is definitely the steak. The sirloin is a bit more firm in texture, while the ribeye has a richer, deeper flavor, perfect for those who enjoy a more intense meat experience. For dessert, I recommend trying the Citrus Flan, which has a texture somewhat similar to blueberry pudding. It’s light and refreshing, providing a nice contrast to the richness of the steak. However, the brownie was a bit on the hard side, so I would suggest opting for the flan if you prefer something softer. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is upscale and sophisticated, making it a great spot for a special night out. El ambiente en Gaucho Birmingham es elegante y moderno, aunque el bajo número de comensales dejó el espacio un poco vacío. El bistec estaba bien cocinado, pero los precios se sentían un poco altos para la calidad de la carne, con cada salsa cobrada por separado a una tasa pronunciada para el tamaño de la porción. El personal era atento y bien informado, mejorando la experiencia. En general, es una buena opción para una ocasión especial, pero algunos ajustes en el valor y la atmósfera podrían elevarlo aún más.

We had private dining, 45mins for drinks wait. Waiter passed plates and drinks around the table like pass the parcel. Service was appalling by the male Waiter. McDonald's Service would be a 5 star compared to this establishment. Overall experience 3/10. For the cost of 16 people in a rabbit hutch private dinning area it was appalling .The service you would expect a better quality of service .

This Gaucho maintains the incredible high standards I've come to love from their other branches. The staff were friendly, professional and polite, the food was absolutely faultless, and the atmosphere excellent.

Comida totalmente decepcionante. Llevó a mi hijo que está en la universidad para un regalo. Estaban fuera de su humita característica (un sábado por la noche a las 8 pm), el entrante de lechuga gema a la parrilla y los lados de brócoli eran insípidos - - incluso amargos. Nuestros filetes (que no podíamos cortar con nuestros cuchillos romos) estaban de nuevo mal cocinados y sin sabor y finalmente el postre de tarta de queso estaba seco. Definitivamente no estuvo a la altura de la parrilla Gaucho que solía ser. No volveremos después de más de 25 años de ser clientes habituales de Gaucho. ¡Lo único bueno fue la compañía!

Not as good as it thinks it is. Steak was very nice, but I’ve had equally nice steaks for 2/3 of the price. Service was pretty slow, and got our steaks the wrong way round. The wine was, quite frankly, terrible considering the price of it. I am used to wine from Loki, this was more like the stuff you’d get down a pub. I was pretty disappointed given its rep. Wouldn’t go again. Cocktails lovely though.

Delicious steak, cooked perfectly. Sommelier chosen wine was excellent and matched the steaks perfectly. Service was efficient and friendly, without being overbearing. Decor is dark and welcoming. Menu was not overcomplicated. The 350g sirloin was really enough for me; glad I didn't go 450g! If you want steak in the middle of Birmingham, go here!

We were up from London for a day trip in the second city. Firstly greeted at the door with a ‘yes, can I help you’ I feel a hello and welcome may have been more of an appropriate greeting. We were given a table at the back next to the waiters service area. Constant sound of clunking plates disturbing our conversation. We had pre booked the table a week prior and there were plenty more appropriate tables we could have been sat at but they declined to move us. We were served the rodizo meats before our sides had even arrived. Anyway we tried to make the best of the situation, that was until we were taking a few minutes to digest our food and it was quite clear we were still eating our meal the server asked us if we would like to order dessert as we only have 15 minutes left on the table?! Firstly we did in fact have 45 minutes left on the table and there were other tables who arrived before us still enjoying their meal and not being shooed out of the building! I have never ever felt so unwelcome nor have I even been informed that I need to order dessert as my time is up, we did not even receive the full menu of meats. Awful experience!

Had a lovely dinner last Friday which was made all the more pleasant by our waiter Pavel. He was kind and very attentive throughout our dinner. He ensured the cocktail my sister ordered was exactly to her liking. My steak unfortunately arrived undercooked but he was extremely apologetic and immediately rectified it by bringing out another within a few short minutes. We were here to celebrate my graduation and he brought me a lovely cheesecake dessert which completed a very enjoyable dining experience. Overall, great experience and will definitely be back.

A very nice place. Food and service was great and the waitress adjusted all the portions according to our dietary requirements without any problems. Very professional. Expensive yes, but also you know you are getting a top class meal.

We celebrated our Birthday at Gaucho Birmingham. They have few halal options, I hope they add more cuts in halal options. Apart from that we had a great night out.

My wife and I booked in for our wedding anniversary, It was our first time at Gaucho. We were very impressed from arriving, the decor is modern and a little dark which adds to the buzzing vibe. We were shown to our table and greeted by our waiter ( a notable shout out to our waiter Chisomo: he was super friendly, chatty and knowledgeable about the menu). We had some delicious cocktails and shortly after putting our order in our food arrived. An Argentinian restaurant that boasts a large high quality steak selection has too be good and it was. I opted for the Rump steak cooked medium rare and my wife had the hot lime chicken and a side of Humita. Both were delicious with the steak cooked to perfection and meltingly tender. We stuck to cocktails for the remainder of the evening all of which hit the spot. An excellent evening of food and drink and a bonus of complimentary champagne to help celebrate our night. Gaucho is a must visit

My wife and I just had a great meal here and will definitely return during our visit in Birmingham. The space is very sophisticated and cool, the servers and staff are very friendly and attentive (especially our server John) and the food is delicious (with just a couple small nits). Here we go: My wife had the barbacoa glazed salmon which was cooked perfectly. The fish was very tasty the only knock was that the glaze was put on a little thick and was slightly too sweet. That said, most peole like it that way, but id we rdered it again we would ask to skip the glaze. I had the lomo (filet) and at least for me the small 200g portion was plenty. It was cooked perfectly rare and was so tender all I needed was a bread knife to cut it. The only nit was the chimichurri, and that is important! It was super runny with too much oil so it didn't stick to the meat. For me chimichurri is more of a thick sauce, not a 'dip'. The spinich was served with a lot of liquid which was also a bit off for us, but like I said we had a terrific meal. Go! (sorry no pix!)

Very unhappy experience, because it was my birthday and I chose this restaurant and I requested a birthday cake. I emphasized it to the waiter twice but they ignored it and perfunctorily. I also saw that other tables of customers had birthdays and they all sent birthday cakes, but when we needed service, no one was called. I asked them to send cake several times, and they only served the cake after I asked again when I paid the bill. Another point is that their pasta is the thing I least recommend? It's very unpalatable! This is a very bad experience! I will not go to this restaurant again. The service charge is unreasonable and we were not served at all! Refuse to enter this restaurant again!

My fiance and I went to Gaucho last night and had an unbelievably good meal. I had the tira de ancho which is one of the best steaks I've ever had and my fiance had a fillet that was well cooked. The food is exceptional but the service was also top notch. Pavel, our waiter, was brilliant Will definitely be coming back

I'm not typically a steak person, but my partner, on the other hand, loves steak so we thought we'd give this place ago and I can honestly say it's the best steak I've ever had! We ordered the special cuts, which were the ribeye & the fillet & both were so tender & cooked to perfection 😍 (medium, rare). The fillet came drizzled in a garlic & butter sauce, which tasted amazing. We ordered sides; garlic fries, creamed spinach, mash, & a garlic mushroom which all complimented the steak beautifully. The service was great, staff are friendly, knowledgable & welcoming. The venue is very stylish & modern. The dark decor gives it a very chilled & cosy feel. It's very pricey, but so worth the money. Highly recommend & will be visiting again soon 😊

Took my both nieces out for a celebration on their successful GCSE results. They all had the halal option Sirloin steak, which was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing, even though it was just a piece of meat on a plate with no other garnish, i wasnt impressed there. I ordered the grilled seabass, let me warn you, it comes on the bone and every bite, had bones in it, I would have preferred the fish filleted. So just be careful We ordered a few sides and they tasted really nice and presented well and served hot. They could have had more varieties of mocktails. I felt the tables were very close to one another and people can hear one anothers conversation. Hence why I wasn't happy with the atmosphere. However the decor was dark and cosy and clean. The waitress that served us was very attentive and provided a high level of service, very impressed 👍❤️ If you intend to serve halal, I suggest maybe having 2 or 3 options rather than 1 (steak). We averaged spent £60 per head and that's without alcohol. In general a decent experience

Having been to Gaucho a few times before I was really disappointed by the service and quality of food I received. When I attended I had to request the special offer menu from the waiter / sommelier as it was not provided which did seem like an inconvenience that I was not ordering off the a la carte menu. Why offer the menu to customers when the staff are not happy providing this! The wait for the order for drinks and food to be taken was very lengthy but this was just one of a number of things which dampened the whole experience. The food was ordered and it took best part of 45 minutes for the starters to come to the table. We had also ordered the cheese bread and this came out after the starter had been put at the table which was very bizarre and very clearly an after though from the kitchen who probably remembered we had ordered bread also. When the mains arrived at the table the sides did not arrive for a good 15-20 minutes after the main dish had been placed at the table. This was the case for the whole table. In the defence of the waiter / sommelier he did apologise and explained the system for ordering food was not configured correctly so the sides were not printed in the kitchen with the mains. This meant that the mains were not really enjoyed how they should have been. It was just a mishmash dining experience. The accompanied peppercorn sauce to the main was poor in quality and had little resemblance to what a normal peppercorn sauce is any restaurant. There was only one peppercorn in the whole sauce and the colour was off yellow and not creamy in the slightest. Suffice to say that this was not used / sampled and sent back to the kitchen. The dessert finally arrived at the table at approximately 10:30 which was roughly 2 hours from when we had sat at the table! This was delicious and perhaps the best dish of the whole meal. A real disappointment from the Gaucho Team who have previously excelled.

The most amazing steak I’ve ever had. And beautiful restaurant with great service

We have reflected a lot on our experience from our last visit and booked a table for 2 at 1930 hrs on Saturday. The dining room was not busy when we arrived but got progressively busier while we were there. Our waitress was attentive to start with, but as the place got busier, so did she. The food came and went, with all the food being amazingly prepared and cooked. The châteaubriand was amazing, as was the wine. However when we received our dessert menus. I believe our waitress went on a break as we did not see her again for 30 mins. Despite trying to get the attention of the waiting staff it was clear that they weren’t going to let me catch their eye and place our order for desserts and cocktails. By the time our waitress returned we needed to leave. I don’t put this failure of good service down to an individual but down to management, there were plenty of waiting staff. Sadly it spoilt the experience for us. The maître d was very accepting of our complaint when I noted that I was not impressed and he offered drinks and to remove the service charge (I accepted neither as we had to go and the chefs deserved the service charge). This experience was a real disappointment as we have eaten there before and didn’t expect anything other than a great meal and service for the £90 a head.

Great place, had the sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce, really nice piece of steak, waitor was really attentive and explained the different cuts of meat, drinks were pricey but if you sign up for the mailing list beforehand you get two free cocktails each! Recommend the place if you like steak!

Our family drove from Nottingham to Birmingham to give this restaurant a try and we loved it… From the reception to the steak explanation and presentation it was well worth the drive... Try the Sea Bass Ceviche as a Starter ( you’ll thank me later )
