Have been to Olivias before and had a good experience, however, this time we ordered 2 Guacamole on toast for £9 each and drinks ( we had this before which was good) what came out was one piece of bread with a tiny spread of guacamole lots of onion, and jalapeños all over drenched in vinegar. After trying to eat this, I took it back ,the female staff member did not apologise and had an attitude, but reluctantly changed it to a cheese & tomato toastie which was equally as bad, very greasy and we left half. The waiter who served us, slammed it down on the table, zero etiquette and never offered cutlery or napkins. No one came to ask/ check if everything was ok. We won’t return again now and would advise the owner seeks serious training on hospitality and sacks that particular’chef’

Disappointing cinnamon bun. Very large, however not fresh and not even a hint of cinnamon detected. Ended up in the bin. Wasted £3.50

Stopped by for lunch and coffee. Food was amazing, really unexpectedly good! We had the toasties made from delicious sourdough bread and ended up buying cakes and bread to take home. Staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. Wish there was a branch of Olivia’s where we live.

I have previously left Olivia's a brilliant review and it was my favourite cafe in Loughborough - I recommended it to SO many friends/ visitors, however, if either of my previous 2 visits were my first, I would not be going back! - I ordered the granola bowl which was merely plain yoghurt, a drizzle of berry juice and a sprinkling of cheap shop bought granola. I asked for honey and got told they didn't have any! You can get a beautiful, large granola bowl with far more exciting toppings from Turquoise Cafe for less!! - My partner ordered the Avocado brunch with bacon, the 'toast' came as bread and the bacon was burnt - there was more plain bread on show than there was covered in avocado. - My celiac father had the gluten free coffee and walnut muffin which had 1 half a walnut on top and can't have had a single drop of coffee in it as the sponge was light in colour and tasted like vanilla. - My mother asked for some jam with her croissant to which she was reluctantly given a tiny plastic pot... - The coffee which is usually my favourite part of visiting Olivia's was OK, lukewarm and very bubbly. Super disappointed as I had been raving about Olivia's to my mother and this was her first experience. Used to love this place.

I have tried and tested many of the cafés in loughborough since being here and always come back to Olivia’s. Absolutely beautiful coffee and excellent pastries. Plenty of regular, vegan and gf options for all visitors! Sometimes a little slower for cooked food but never without a warning. One of our favourites :)

Can I say that I use the branch at The Outwoods regularly when out walking and find it fantastic. Food is excellent and staff are great. Just visited the branch in town for coffee and a bite to eat. We ordered drinks and a portion of porridge and a bacon roll. Whilst waiting I noted that it seems chaotic behind the counter. After a few minutes I heard our server asking the young lady preparing food if our porridge had been “shouted” It clearly hadn’t and he did this using a radio. I saw food being sent back from a table outside with the customer clearly not happy and walking away. After 15 mins waiting I chased our food as it hadn’t arrived. We were told it would be with us by the server in 4 1/2 mins as he said he wanted to be accurate. I then saw a table that had arrived 10 mins after us get food including a bacon roll. I asked for a refund as this was now 20 mins and still no food had arrived. I was appalled at the reaction of staff. Instructing me that they were busy and 20 mins isn’t long to wait. The food, they said was cooked to order. Guys, it’s a bacon roll and portage not a full English!! I’m assuming this is the same at Outwoods where a bacon roll arrives in around 5 mins! This guy (beard/green t shirt) then proceeded to tell the whole cafe that he was being asked by a customer for a refund. Again stating that I had only been waiting 20mins. Not very professional. He said he would do the refund and we left. Clearly if he is honest it wasn’t the best Saturday morning with 2 complaints in 15 mins about food. The young lady looked out of her depth and cafes cannot use the excuse of being busy. They are supposed to be busy. I will continue to use The Outwoods but give the town branch a miss due to the attitude of the staff member who dealt with my request for a refund. Hopefully he can address his shortcomings in customer service. You need to be able to deal with complaints and embarrassing a customer in front of everyone in the cafe is very poor. Hope your day improves.

We just popped in for a tea and coffee but the cinnamon rolls looked delicious so couldn't resist. Wow what a treat, so soft and fluffy with a delicate hint of cinnamon, the best we have tasted we agreed. We found out they were made and baked on the premises, joy!!! Visit again, certainly when we're in the area.

I am sure you can appreciate for someone to sit down and write a detailed review regarding their experiences means that what they have experienced has left an impression. Unfortunately on this occasion it is a negative one. My granddaughter (aged eight) and I, visited the shop in Loughborough for our breakfast 'treat '. I ordered an Apple juice, and an iced latte (semi skimmed milk), a chocolate brownie and a Blueberry and white chocolate cruffin. On entering the premises while there was a queue at the counter, there was plenty of seating and our order was taken by a young gentleman who was serving the counter. At no time was we advised that there is any delay in dispensing drinks. That said I would not have expected there to be much of a delay as our pastries were given over-the-counter straightaway and no comment was forthcoming from any member of the staff. My granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our pastries, and they easily met a five-star rating. After waiting 20 mins for our drinks I told the male server at the counter explaining that we could wait any longer and needed a refund. What should have happened is that the server apologise and the refund be given and we would have left the shop. However that is what transpired. anyone interested can see the email I have sent to the shop . My issue is that all i wanted was the drinks I ordered or a refund. In total, including the exchange with the server after 30 minuits our drinks were still not prepaired..... ONE APPLE JUICE..ONE SKINNY ICED LATTE.... i want a refund, not a debate infront of other customers Unfortunatly I do feel that the focus of the servers attitude was because I was a woman of mature years and easy pray ....perhaps Im a little sensitive as dealing with the equality act and discrimination is my proffessional career its a shame ... because i had entended to purchase more pastries/bread to take home

Visited in June with my neighbour and met two elderly ladies who were on a day trip to Loughborough and sat together asthere were no tables cleared of dirty pots. Very poor service. Delicious cakes but rude staff who when we asked about our coffees which hadn’t arrived told us we aren’t making coffee .. and a chap said we will get to you in good time! Seeing as we had eaten our food long before we all thought it was odd we hadn’t received our drinks. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as we can all have off days and went back last week to try again only to find an elderly lady receiving the same treatment and waiting for service as the workers stood chatting. I decided to take my order away. The food is amazing such a shame about the service or lack of it .

Our table of 6 arrived at the cafe today before 3pm. The staff were sullen and slow moving. We cleaned our own table, returned the dirty pots to the counter and waited to be acknowledged. After a while we managed to be noticed and asked for a menu, only to be told the kitchen had closed at 3pm! And yet another table had just been served with sandwiches, How very disappointing for us, however the staff didn't look bothered and didn't even point out the pastries and sausage rolls as an alternative, or try to sell us coffee!!!! So poor. We discussed our options, decided to leave and look for somewhere else. We left at 3.11 pm! A short drive away in Loughborough we had excellent service in a small independent cafe and happily paid our £100 bill. It's safe to say we will not be returning.

I rarely write a poor review but sadly for my second visit here, it was just like the first, the staff have no respect for the customers, don’t even know they’re there. Too busy chatting about where they went last night. Ordered coffee, it took forever, no apologies from staff, just defensiveness☹️Shame as the coffee was good.

A first visit to the bakery/coffee shop. Strong coffee if you like it that way. My daughter had a hot chocolate that she said was delicious. Food was very good ham and cheese toastie & hummus and cucumber sandwich, bread excellent as you would expect. The scones looked great, maybe next time I’ll have one. A very relaxing place to eat and hang out; I liked the music that was being played and it was at a good volume too, not so loud which allows you to have a conversation.

Nice and trendy coffee shop in Loughborough, good coffee and great potential to become one of the best independent coffee shops in town. Saying that, the staff are still working on the atmosphere, nothing that a few big plants and a few quarky pictures can't sort out though.Olivia's coffee and bakery is only a few touches away from being a great meeting point with friends or just to spend a couple of hours doing some work.

This is possibly the best stake I’ve ever had, served on a volcanic slab and comes served rare so the longer you leave it on there the more it cooks to your liking. Had this been a fillet steak, I wouldn’t have complained as it was so tender.

A group of us booked for lunch and ordered in advance. The staff were very pleasant and helpful , service was good as was the food with a choice of portion size for some dishes. My meal was missing peas but this was quickly rectified. The cakes looked delicate and tyere was one desert and ice-cream om offer yoo. The tea rooms are warm which was good as the weather outside was awful. There is outside seating for good weather days. There are a few charity shops on site and walks in the grounds, weather permitting and a model railway open on Wednesdays and Fridays. Definitely worth a visit.

Have eaten here a few times over the years. Always very friendly service. Food has always been good value with good portion size too. Could be improved with menus on tables instead of having to look at the boards behind the counter to choose what to eat.

Possibly the best latte I have had in Leicestershire (up to this date of course), I don't know how they do it...especially as I'm borderline addicted to the things If you get a chance try the vanilla latte and let it cool slightly. Worth every penny. The foods decent as well and the premises is very quirky but unique.
