Oliver's Bistro in Norwich

Llegó y pidió una mesa para cuatro. Dijo 15 minutos de espera. Dijo que esperaríamos y nos quedaríamos afuera al sol. Fui 15 minutos después, para encontrar la mesa que le habían dado a una pareja. Protesté y me dijeron que fuera a buscar otro lugar para comer. Francamente, no sé cómo siguen en el negocio.

Deliciosa comida y algunas costillas increíbles. Volvimos a visitar la Sra. y intentamos ir otra vez pero me dijeron que se han mudado. Cualquiera sabe dónde?

Vine aquí con uno de mis amigos tras ella y su marido había sido y me dijo cómo es la comida. Fuimos para el almuerzo, y la comida estaba deliciosa! Sin duda volveré para una comida!!

Habiendo tenido una buena comida a principios del año que se presentaron al salir con una oferta de dos platos por £14. Cuando lo usamos encontramos el menú ofrecido era una versión más contenidas abajo del menú en línea. Decidimos pedir aperitivos, y elegí uno de los platos más caros, descrito como vieiras con black pudding. Lo que conseguimos, era 2 pequeños vieiras con 50% más black pudding. Ahora me gusta black pudding. pero 2 vieiras por 7.95 libras. Mi queja se reunió con indiferencia, -: "que voy a mencionar al chef". En mi experiencia chef no puede decidir en tamaño de la porción, la dirección no. La cocina estaba bien, las descripciones y las respuestas de gestión menos.

Yo y mi esposa nos dejó a Oliver's el sábado después de estar por un amigo y la calidad era increíble! El servicio era rápido y el personal era increíble! Sin duda volveremos después Payday!!

I think I have a new favourite restaurant in Norwich. The food was perfect, the restaurant smart/sophisticated and very well decorated yet relaxed, and staff friendly and provided just the right level of attentiveness. Even better, it's excellent value midweek - 2 mains for £14! Hubby and I shared our two starters. We had scallops and black pudding and jumbo king prawns with garlic and crostini. Exquisitely cooked. Could have eaten about 3 more plates of both!.. But glad I didn't, because then the burger arrived! Burger was perfect - huge, juicy, tasty, with bacon and Norfolk Dapple cheese. French fries delicious. Staff kindly substituted side salad for coleslaw and French fries for hand-cut chunky chips for me. We were so impressed with the food, we pushed the boat out and got desserts as well. We shared these again. White chocolate cheesecake with berry compote for hubby and chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice cream for me. Both were, again, delicious... and huge. So large that I had to take home part of my brownie. Could not face seeing it go in the bin when it was so good. I won't hesitate to say we will be back many times based on this experience.

We ate at Olivers tonight for the first time. It was every bit as good as we had been told by relatives. Simon, the manager and a young lady waitress (sorry didn't get round to her name) were both welcoming and friendly which is always a must in my book. The food was delicious and very well presented. Loved the décor of the place. Will definitely return soon.

My daughter held her 21st birthday party in The Crypt and had a fantastic night so we were keen to try out the restaurant. All the positive reviews are true. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were really friendly and efficient. We highly recommend it!

4 of us visited on a Saturday night. The food was awesome the atmosphere brilliant the service attentive yet relaxed. We had 3 courses and lots of drinks. Starters were £5-8 mains 12-16 and desserts 6-8. Not that cheap but in my opinion worth every penny. The restaurant is in the bar which a great big open joist area and it has loads of atmosphere. The only niggle was the going downstairs to the toilets but really with this quality of food presentation and service that is very picky. Nice oneOliver

Just returned from such a fantastic night at Oliver's Bistro. Really wished I had have known about it before, as would had been a regular here. I went with friends who all were equally impressed. Lovely settings, superb food and extremely friendly staff. We visited as I had a Groupon voucher, and I did look previously here onTripadvisor and saw really good reviews- all which were absolutely true! Totally recommended and planning to return with more friends and husband as I know they will love it! Look forward to seeing you all soon again !!!

Went for the first time last week with my daughter for a meal and could not have had a more incredible meal / evening. Set in the beautiful 'Lanes' part of Norwich we had a fabulous meal, a wonderfully friendly waitress and met the chef after we had expressed our enjoyment of the food to our waitress Erica. How often does that happen these days. And not only did he speak to us but took the time to speak to other customers. Quirky building and décor with lovely atmosphere. Will definitely return.

Bedford's & Olivers Bistro managed to squeeze 4 of us in at last minute on Bank Holiday Saturday. We sampled many of the cocktails and beers, which are great. A variety of high quality beverages from around the world. We had 2 of the amazing, gourmet burgers and 2 of the Seafood linguini, punchy flavours and textures. The staff looked after us well also. This was 4th time of eating there since Oliver's has been there. Just lovely!

I've eaten here a couple of times and the food is always really good and reasonably priced. The restaurant is set in a lovely building with exposed beams and quirky decor. The tables are set at one end with a bar at the other. The bar does get busy on a weekend but this gives the place a lively atmosphere. The menu isn't huge but there is something for everyone. This time round I had the prawn and scallop linguine which was was absolutely lovely. Fresh flavours and great quality. Finally, the prices are very reasonable. Will definitely return.

Me and the wife managed to get hold of a Groupon voucher after having a taster of what's on offer at Norwich Rocks. Enjoyed that then a enjoyed our sit down even more. Lovely food!

This was our 2nd visit to Oliver's Bistro using a Groupon and another lovely meal, can't fault the venue, the staff and of course the food 🍴🍷🍺 we look forward to our next visit 😃

A number of the less positive reviews of this place have referred to burgers everywhere! This is simply not true. went with my Partner tonight. I had sticky Asian Ribs and she had Garlic Tiger Prawns as a starter. Both were lovely. Main courses were a special of Crab with King Prawns with a pea and mint Veloute (she likes her prawns) and also pan seared Sea Bass on a bed of Jersey Royals and seared Vegetables. Both were wonderful. A really lovely meal made special by the brilliant Waitress Erica who seemed to be running the restaurant on her own despite the presence of two other members of staff. Will definitely return.

Visited Oliver's Bistro this week, as I had a Groupon voucher. I'm glad they ran the Groupon deal otherwise I would of never realised Bedford's did restaurant quality food, and never would have discovered this gem!

Pleasant staff but very slow service. It took over 2 hours for 6 of us to have 2 courses served, despite only 4 tables being occupied by about 18 people. Food was ok but not very generous in portion sizes & if we were paying full price it would certainly not have been good value for money. However, with a groupon voucher it was just about the right price for the meals we had. However, desserts are very expensive for very ordinary choices . Definitely not child friendly if you have a young family.

My friend and I came here to dine on Friday evening and i have to say it was fantastic from the moment we came in we were welcomed with a smile and our waitress was so attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Even the chef came out to see my friend and offer her different vegetarian options that weren't even listed on the menu. Even the owner came over to say hello and meet us. What service and what a great find I would recommend to anyone. I will definitely be back!!! Thank you guys for a fantastic evening.

Been here twice since Xmas and its a hidden gem.

Took the children for a treat during the holidays using a Groupon deal. (We have an Oliver!) We received a lovely warm welcome. The menu was perfect and the staff were keen to adapt to suit our children's needs. The food was outstanding. Keep up the great work ☺

My wife and I were visiting friends in Norfolk and they booked a table and having actually found it I can honestly say that the food, wine and service were all outstanding. Highly recommend

I visited Oliver's Bistro for a quick bite to eat with my husband. We were the first customers there so the atmosphere was lacking but it was expected as we chose to eat early (at 17:30) after a bit of shopping in the city.

I bought a deal on Groupon, booked before expiry date, but unfortunately had to cancel due to illness, Simon said straight away he would honour the deal when I was better, he kept his word & we have just had the most amazing meal, would definitely go back with or without a deal, the food was fantastic, the service wonderful, lovely atmosphere & building.

My wife and I managed a sneaky night away from the baby and after much debating, we decided on 'Oliver's' - One of our better decisions. Set in the trendy lanes of Norwich this is definitely one of the better eateries the city has to offer. Very welcoming and relaxed staff and management greeted us and we were seated immediately. With the restaurant occupying the far end of the very well presented bar area, we were never more than a wave away from first class, cheerful service.

We enjoyed a very pleasant meal at Olivers Bistro, main courses are £15-95 and starters around £6-£7 ,so not a cheap option. but the food was good. I opted for the poached haddock with bubble and squeak, greens and a poached egg, presentation was very "nouveau cuisine" as was the presentation of the belly pork that my husband ordered. The ambience of the bar is good and it is situated in a very old building that was once The Bedford Arms public house.Staff were polite and helpful. I had to send my meal back as it was cold but was soon presented with a replacement dish. There are a flight of stairs to climb s not suitable for the disabled or those with mobility problems

We went as a couple as part of a Groupon deal. From the time we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The service was excellent, we didnt have to wait long for someone to come and take our order but at no time did we feel hurried. The atmosphere in general is warm and friendly and the own/manager was happy to have some banter with us.

Chorizo goats cheese starter was delicious, and the burger topped with pulled pork was one of the best I've had. And service was good with a great atmosphere too.

Used a Groupon voucher for our first meal here. The restaurant was comfortably busy, the service was excellent, polite and attentive but not rushed. An error was made on our order, this was corrected with a polite apology and complementary drinks offered. We had spiced scotch eggs, lovely spiced meat, soft egg and crunchy coating. Main courses where, burger and chips and boef burgionion, good portions, great taste and quality. Too full for dessert we will definitely make this a regular.

we ate here as a large group, most of us had the scotch eggs to start, they are really really good! very large though! The food was of epic proportions so bear that in mind, I took what I could not eat home as it was so much. The pork belly was great as well. The platter was massive and the pulled pork was great.

We went mid-week and the food was lovely. There was adequate choice on the menu without being overwhelmed and there was something for everyone. Every meal had perfectly balanced flavours, was well presented and portions were perfectly sized for the dish.

Had a great Saturday night here, the scotch egg is perfect and was the starter of choice for our party, the portion sizes are massive! The pork belly was cooked to perfection. The linguine and pepper pasta was exceptional to. Home made burgers and chips were fab. Really good quality food at great prices,

Visited here recently as a large party for lunch for my brother's birthday. The menu is spot on with the right amount of choice without being too overwhelming.

Found this on trip advisor. Much better than the mass produced pub food from the pub chains at no extra cost. Understand they may be stopping the bistro in the future, I do hope this does continue - support them now or this food gem with be lost....

Went there the other Sunday when my parents were down, as we thought its nice and close we'd give it a go. Was very pleasantly surprised as was expecting a basic pub Sunday Lunch, but instead got a fantastic huge plate of well cooked food along with a big side bowl of seasonal veg and another of leek and cauliflower cheese for the table. I can honestly say it was one of the best Sunday roasts I have had in years! Another plus was even though it was Sunday they still had a normal menu available including several fish dishes.

I had a fabulous evening meal on opening weekend at Oliver's bistro and have since been back to try more delights from the menu at lunchtime. Oliver's is within The Lord Rosebery pub but make no mistake this is not the normal pub food. Unusual dishes and reasonable sized portions. I will definitely be visiting this establishment again.

Visisted Oliver's Tuesday 17 June with my partner. Lovely food, lots of flavour, well cooked and nicely presented! Very friendly and helpful stafff, and very good value for money. We enjoyed the experience so much that we had dinner there the following evening as well and were just as pleased then. If in Norwich again we will definitely return.

Fabulous food, some with a subtle twist, crunchy egg a softly boiled/poached egg covered in breadcrumbs and then deep fried. Cut it open and out ran the yolk. Our second visit Thursday 12th June saw my wife tucking to a vegetable tarte tatin which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had ham hock with peas and home made chips and I enjoyed that as we'll. Everything is priced at an acceptable level. Staff attentive and friendly. The Lord Rosebery where the bistro is situated serves reasonably priced selection of wines as well as a good range of real ales. Oliver, well done. Garry and Sandra.

Visited Oliver's Bistro with some family members on the recommendation of Rob from The Lord Rosebery and we were not disappointed! We all went for a Sunday roast, three of us chose lamb and one beef and all thoroughly enjoyed our food. Everything was cooked really well and tasted delicious and the staff both at the bar and waitressing were welcoming and professional. Will definitely go back.

Small area of the bar is set out for the bistro although the flavours are big. I had the devilled whitebait followed by the poached haddock and both were great. The waitress was very courteous and friendly. Definitely go again.

As soon as we arrived we were made to feel relaxed & welcome. Drinks arrived promptly and our server expertly managed our party of 11 diners.
