Great food, good portions, reasonable prices, service was fast and it was all nice and clean inside. I would have liked to have seen card payment as an option. Then it would have been five stars. I would have spent a lot more if card payment had been available.

Very disappointed after previous visit. Appalling curry, rude chef, an expensive waste of money. Avoid.

Staff are lovely and welcoming to make a great atmosphere. Food is excellent value for money and delicious!

A wonderful place. Park in Asda car park, and get yourself and your friends down to the 'Olive Tree Cafe' The Steak pie is the best steak pie I have ever eaten and that's saying something. Listen to this Trip Advisor fans ( Come Closer) 'It didn't give me indegestion' It was beautiful. Now I am a regular and so is my trusty faithful sidekick. The prices are cheap, cheap, cheap. Please pop along even if it's just for a breakfast, you won't be dissapointed. The place is a jewel of the nile set in the heart of grimsby wastelands So go discover........ Go on.... I said Go.... What are you waiting for???

The Cooked lunch that I had here was so good, just like home cooking and what I needed while out shopping mid-week. Clean and the Ladies are so friendly.

First ever visit and was well surprised. Had home made Chicken pie, new potatoes and vegetables and admit it was well worth the visit. Will certainly visit again in the not too distant future

This is my 13 year old daughter favourite place to eat so visit once a week.I always get the jacket patoes and they are lovely served with coleslaw.my daughter gets a small breakfast but only orders half of it so they give her an extra sausage.food I'd always hot and served quickly.very clean place tables always look nice and the serving counter always displays homemade cakes.wide range of breakfast lunches and puddings .get a nice cuppa here as well at a reasonable price.deffo recommend if ya want a cheap but lovely meal

i popped in here as i was passing about 4 weeks ago for a quick bite to eat, and was welcomed with a big smile. i placed my order and was told my drink would be brought to my table, so i took a seat and within minutes my food arrived, pipping hot which i devoured every morsel, the food i had was fish and chips with mushy peas, the fish was fresh and since my 1st visit im in there 3-4 times a week to the point im now on 1st name terms with most of the staff :-) a brilliant cafe and most definatley recommended

I'd read good reviews for the Olive Tree and happened to be in Freeman Street so I thought I'd give it a try. It's a basic cafe, but it's spotlessly clean and very reasonably priced. I could see the kitchen through the large serving hatch and that also looked very clean. It was quite busy but the staff were friendly and efficient. I ordered haddock & chips with mushy peas and a mug of tea. It all arrived quickly and was excellent. The fish was fresh and well cooked, the chips were just as they should be, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle and the mushy peas were just that! The mug of tea was just the right strength, far better in a mug than the normal dribbling tea pot. For under a fiver what more could you ask for?

Have popped in a couple of times when working nearby. Nice and clean, friendly staff! The food is tasty, perfect for lunch break or when out shopping and in need of refreshment!

The staff here are absolutely lovely. Especially Katie and the one with pink hair ;) The food is nice and always quick and nothing is too much trouble. They also deliver if you're too busy to call in. I come here everyday and they are always chatty and welcoming. Definitely recommend!!

The staff where I work order on average 3/4 times per week we've always had the same excellent quality every time, the food is fresh, hot and tasty, very very reasonably priced, super speedy delivery. To say that we choose the olive tree is a huge compliment as we have lots of fast food places on our door step but we choose the olive tree !!

I often use the cafe when I'm working in freeman St area, but I went shopping with my children and thought I'd take them for lunch afterwards, they both enjoyed there food(admittedly they can be fussy). They also commented on the freshly made cakes. Amazing food and clean and friendly environment. I love the fact that you can see the kitchen as you know that it is clean for yourself then. They also cater for younger children and have high chairs.

Love this place, food always good and value for money. Well worth a visit with all the homemade meals and puddings to die for.

This little cafe is run with a sense of family making it a welcome place to stop.The food is prepared and cooked in full view of customers, is made to order so always hot and fresh.The prices are realistic too! Not over-inflated like a lot of other small cafes. The staff are polite and have time for a chat - you are not just putting money in the till. The delivery service is spot on, always on time and with thought added ie sauces etc

Had a large breakfast not worth it's money in terms of size sausages was terrible hard on one side! There was no staff around too even ask if my food was nice which was a disappointment unfortunately haven't got a nice thing too say about this place.

Up until April 2015 i worked 3 doors away from the olive tree and used to go at least once a week every week. Amazing home cooked fresh food and the owner and rest of the staff couldn't be more welcoming, going here for lunch is the main thing I miss about working in Grimsby. Would recommend anyone who's near there to go. You won't be disappointed.

I am a regular customer at The Olive Tree. I have attended 2 events which were out of this world...Tea with Santa was so well organised, the magic was felt by the adults as well as the children. The food, service and cleanliness are excellent. The breakfast omelette is divine and definitely recommended. You will find the friendliest staff that give a warm welcome to everyone. Also the delivery service is fast and the quality of food is as good as in the cafe.

Absolutely love the salads from here, always fresh and get more than what you pay for. Ham is gorgeous carved ham and the chicken is proper chicken! Homemade coleslaw is really nice too! Always recommend this place!!

I have eaten at the Olive Tree many times and can't fault it. The staff are lovely and friendly and the food is excellent. I also get deliveries and the food is hot when it arrives In fact, I don't know how they do this high quality for the price! Would thoroughly recommend to anyone (and I do!)

Me and my family always eat here have done for many months now, the staff are very friendly and will do anything to met your needs the food is gorgeous all ways fresh and the prices are great always our first stop on our shopping days out also the manager catered our wedding and all my guests were delighted with the food so any one saying other wise about this business is 100% lying. I will never stop eating here as its a very friendly cafe and the food and cakes are to die for :)

Well, we came a long way - 4 hours to be exact - but couldnt have found anywhere better.Excellent food - Had to do Fish and Chips. After all its Grimsby, and we'd been to the Fishing Heritage Museum the day before! Have to say they did not disappoint. Superb, and a fab sized portion! Didnt really have room for anything else but the cakes looked so scrummy, I was forced to have a piece of Victoria Sponge. So lght and moist, it reminded me of my Mums - which, for anyone who knew her, is high praise indeed. Watching the staff go about their work, there's warm buzz about the place,Very busy, yet they have time to welcome with customers , whether they're regulars or like us, first timers. Nice to see care and a good understanding over someones food intolerances too.Food's great value too! To be honest, we thought we'd been undercharged!!Next time we're in the area, we're sure to be back!

Excellent value for money. Food is all home made and is delicious. Food is served piping hot and her cakes are to die for. The staff are very efficient and so friendly and happy doing their work. I love going in especially when they hold the phsycic supper. Its brilliant. Keep up the good work its a little gem.

Rang through and ordered breakfast beforehand and it was ready for when I picked it up. Hot and still tasty even when I arrived at my final destination for eating. The staff were very friendly and chatty and my baby daughter loved them also. Nothing short of 5*

Popped into the cafe this week, and couldn't believe how lovely the food was. You can tell it was all fresh, it tasted home made. And cheap prices too! Would definitely come back again. X

Staff are really friendly and pleasant always made to feel welcome. I have special dietary requirements and they are more than happy to cater for this and prepare my food separately. We have used them before for breakfast runs at work and food was always hot and great portions even on deliveries the staff where pleasant and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to go back again or get food delivered good home cooked food at affordable prices for all.

Had a chicken salad the chicken was hard smelt funny also the salad wasn't all that either certainly wasn't fresh. Cakes was very dry certainly wasn't fresh either safe too say i wont be going there again one of the women who served me also was not polite at all. unfortunately i have too give it one star but it doesn't deserve that either YUK is all i can say.

I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to happen across the olive tree cafe. Home cooked grub at its best. The staff are wonderful and more than happy to cater to dietary requirements just give them a heads up and they will point you in the right direction on the menus. The fish and chips oh my god I won't be going to a chippy anymore that's for sure. Priced low and served with portions to fill. The fish is local too so that's a big bonus for the local area.We will be back again very soon. I'm looking forward to trying one of them fry ups I saw go past.

I visit Asda and Boyes at the top of Freeman Street and usually stay in Asda for lunch. I came out of Boyes and saw the Olive Tree cafe across the road and curious to see what it was like. I usually have baked potato with topping. I ordered the chilli one plus included was an extra topping, I had cheese, plus included a side salad. I couldn't believe the amount of food when it came, I'm sure there was half a pound of grated cheese on the plate with the salad. The chilli was perfect and I asked the staff where it was from, they said the owner made it herself. I struggled to eat the whole meal and wouldn't need any tea after that (it was 2.30pm) The staff were very friendly and looked happy and I complimented them and said I would be back and also let others know that there was a heaps better alternative to Asda's cafe. The cost was £3.95 - wow. The only down side is they close at 3pm as I would have liked to have tea there on some days but I guess many of the shoppers are going on the school run or finished shopping for the day by then. I will be back next week.

My colleague and I needed something quick before returning to work, we stopped in at the olive tree after hearing good things and weren't disappointed. I had the lasagne from the specials board and it was brilliant, we waited no time at all the food was tasty and a generous portion. Prices are very good will definitely be using the olive tree again.

A fab family run café offering all of the essentials and more! Excellent value for money, we went for a lunch time salad which came with extras you would usually pay more for such as coleslaw and potato salad. All food prepared fresh and very speedy service from super friendly staff. Clean and cheerful décor - would definitely go back for seconds!

Not sure which Olive Tree Tooncharlotte visited but it can't have been this one! 5* rating on the window (I always check). Warm welcome when you go in and lovely clean cafe, nicely decorated. Been 3 times now at different times of the day and it has constant custom. Food is lovely and there is a wide range to choose from. Great prices too! Definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended

Called in here for breakfast on a Saturday morning.I decided to have the large breakfast and a mug of tea.The breakfast consisted of Egg, 2 Bacon, 2 Sausages, Mushrooms, Tomato, Beans & Toast.Cost of breakfast £3.95 and 60p for the mug of tea.The service was quick, the staff very friendly and the food was very good.I have visited this cafe a few times over the last few months and have always been satisfied with the food and the service I receive.I recommend this cafe to anyone who likes good food at a reasonable price.

I needed a quick lunch in a rather unpromising area and was delighted to stumble across the Olive Tree. Very clean and bright decor, extremely friendly staff - overall a good atmosphere. I had the 'dish of the day' - home made steak pie, mash & veg - gravy optional - pretty good cafe grub for £3.95, as was the jam sponge with custard (£1.50). Tea 60p a mug. I will happily lunch there again if I'm in Grimsby.
