Beautiful amazing food couldn’t have been better for a day date 🥰 the steaks are highly recommended! I’ve been converted to proper onion rings as well! Honestly just beautiful, special shoutout to Janis and Sean as well service was perfect making sure everything was perfect for us! Will be back again 10000000/10! We loved this place so much we came back the second day. Welcoming staff, delicious drinks, cocktails and the food was excellent value. Loved the fire pit tables which enabled us to enjoy sitting outside. Also dog friendly.

Popped in for lunch with a friend who recommended the sea bass. Unfortunately it was not available so settled for fish and chips. Very nice.

Below average food and the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. Visited for a friend's birthday in October and would never return again. Management screamed over the table at our entire party (over a very mild complaint about a steak that wasn't cooked to order). When asked to calm down the manager continued to tower over me shouting screaming and pointing in my face. The other customers and members of staff were visibly mortified by how we were treated and some waitresses even came over and whispered apologies when their manager was no longer in the vicinity. When I tried to contact the restaurant and head manager who was apparently on holiday when the incident happened, I was pawned off, they wouldn't give me an email address so I could put my formal complaint in writing and never returned several of my calls and voicemails. Shocking experience, avoid at all costs.

One of the top three restaurants in the area without a shadow of a doubt, excellent food, top quality service and at an affordable price too!

Love the history of the place but it's way too expensive for what it is. It doesn't feel very old inside either, very modern sadly. Food was nothing special. Not worth the price.

Stopped for a gin well worth it

Our 1st Anniversary meal after we held our wedding reception here last year. Lovely greeting fab cocktails and superb freshly cooked food all the staff especially the manager once again very attentive our go to fave restaurant

Lovely restaurant , clean and welcoming . But why are they skimping on the simple things ? I had a Greek salad which was lovely & fresh BUT had just crumbled feta on the top - they used to serve chunks of feta which is what is expected . Also my husband had a halloumi starter - with no pitta or bread ? Surely that’s expected too ? And the fish n chips is no longer the chips they used to serve chunky inside& crispy outside- which were THE best ! Now they’re just normal chunky chips nothing special : ( These are things that make a difference to a restaurant you expect be keep consistent

Stumbled across this absolute diamond of a restaurant. Service good, food absolutely amazing and the outside terrace was really nice, gave us Med vibes.

Went on Easter Saturday for evening dinner had a great meal would recommend a visit if you visit Weston super mare we also Went back for Sunday dinner which was amazing you can also sit outside and have your meal infront of a fireplace

My partner and I had a sharing Sunday roast platter. It came out within minutes of us having drinks and it was fabulous. Really well presented and good quality ingredients. If I was being picky I would say the spuds could have been crispier however this is a teensy-weensy point that can be overlooked given the overall fab-ness of the platter. We will definitely return and maybe experience one of those heated outdoor tables next time. Superb!

Ate here tonight with the extended family which meant more young kids than adults. Always a difficult meal out but staff were really friendly, attentive and patient. Food was excellent, we had a variety of starters and mains and all were polished off with a smile. Children's food was of the same quality as well, real chicken strips with a nice crisp coating and decent portion sizes. A good selection of drinks and desserts and the atmosphere was really good, a busy Wednesday night after a cool and sunny day. The outside seating with fires for warmth looked really good. Definitely worth a visit and the seafront makes for a nice walk before / after the meal or both.

I visit Weston a lot and have stopped here before for drinks or a bowl of olives (delicious). Today I had a full meal here for the first time and it definitely won't be the last! I sat outside by the lovely warm coal burners so I had a sea view. I ate calamari (some of the best I've ever eaten) and chicken souvlaki. It was all beautifully cooked and presented. The wine wss lovely and crisp and the water served in lovely cut glasses with ice and lime. The waitress was friendly and efficient. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Nice place but more of a foodie place. Only San Miguel on draught. Nicely decorated and the staff were friendly and polite. Great beer. Enjoyed my visit.

They were really busy and we went if for a drink only but we wanted the fire pit on in the front, the girl said they would a while due to being busy but sure enough she came with Cocktails as ordered and lit the pit Finished my wife’s birthday off lovely!!!! Thank you Gary

Fantastic food & a friendly venue & very reasonable prices

This is a place l found years ago, staff are friendly and make sure you have a great experience,, put the charcoal fires on because when l go there with my son or family we sit outside, garlic prawns, to die for, just like abroad, chicken souvlaki brilliant,, cheese board tasty, steak , l chose fillet,, cooked to perfection 👌,, its opposite the beach, so on a sunny day you feel like your abroad,, seriously this is the best place to eat in weston super mare, have lived here 25yrs ,, there is no better place , only wished they delivered,, can't walk that good any longer,, but seriously 😀 you have to go there to eat,, l love my food,, so trust me,, the old thatched cottage is number one for ne,,

The experience was ok. From the outside I thought the interior would have been more rustic. However it was quite modern with a bit of the original stones. The food was OK but it was a bit pricey for the portions. Service was ok when they decided to check in Overall it wasn't disappointing but only OK

Food was lovely, the waitress was really nice. Can't really comment on the atmosphere as there was only us on an early Monday evening. Would go back though.

We visited on a busy Saturday evening - service was very good, the right amount of menu choices, good size portions. The children really enjoyed the fish bites. Clean bathrooms, Great location as well - all alround an enjoyable experience. Happy to return and recommend.

A great place to eat any time of day right on the sea front. Inside and outside seating with outside patio heating. Great attentive service and a wide menu choice. Only 1 choice of draught beer but plenty of bottles. DON'T order the Sunday Roast Share platter unless you are EXTREMELY hungry. There's more meat than you'll find in a butchers shop but absolutely delish. Extra gravy...no problem. Pale roasties and parsnips but tasty. A lovely restaurant ambience and the cleanest loos. One of WSMs finest diners....highly recommended

What a lovely place, had such a relaxing time the staff were lovely and there was no rush to eat your meal the food was amazing i had the sunday roast and there was that much beef (so tender) on the plate i couldn't eat it all, i would definitely eat here again if i came back to Western Super Mare.

Was looking for a really home cooked roast. Stumbled across thus place on Google then checked reviews. Well all I can say is that I was not disappointed. The Sunday roast was of a high standard really delicious. I was so stuffed I could not try any of there puddings! 😩. The two ladies that served were polite and so welcoming. Thanks will defo come again and have shared with family and friends.

Have been to Weston a fair few times and this restaurant has started to become a favourite place. The food is superb and the service is top drawer. The young lady that served myself and my wife on Thursday was lovely couldn’t do enough to help!

We had an amazing meal here. Great service , lovely atmosphere, good value. The fire pit tables outside look brill although we weren’t brave enough in December. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Good food and lovely place to eat

French restaurant in England. The food was amazing. And that is it. The restaurant is really nice, but the tables are too close and too small, so there is not enough space. And it was slow. We waited for the food for almost an hour with no warning. But really tasty food and interesting menu. I would try the outside tables in the summer.

Delicious greek food, great attentive service. We sat outside at one of the fire pit tables and the atmosphere was amazing, really warm and cosy. Would highly reccomend and will be back.

I ate here last evening 15th December The food was amazing, one of my favourite restaurants. It did not disappoint. The rib eye steak was really good and the prawns to start equally moreish. As a chef I observed the food going to other tables, you can see the care and attention in the dishes that came out. Presentation is my big thing and as I said it delivered in every way. So very well done to all.

Fabulous Sunday dinner. Never seen so much roast beef on one plate. Staff are lovely and very attentive. Highly recommend.

Very nice being able to sit outside in the cold with the table fire burning, was very cosy. Out of my price range though £75 for three people and I only had chips and garlic bread.

Today, had the best experiences for my partner's birthday. The restaurant accommodated 13 of us with slick service from a pre-ordered menu choices The food was magnificent! The service was second to none... going the extra mile with a birthday brownie!! All of the staff could not have been more accommodating with excellent attention to our personal needs. Well Done The Old Thatched Cottage.... HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We had a lovely Sunday dinner here for my Daughter's birthday. We all had a 3 course meal and all the food that came out was lovely. The service was really good and they were all friendly.

Absolutely amazing food, so fresh. Been ages since I had such a good meal out. The menu had a Greek flavor to it. Staff were fantastic. We were 3 family members and did not feel rushed and very looked after. Had we not had a show to go to we could of spent all evening there. Can't believe we have never came across this place before when visiting Weston. A real gem of a place. We will be back.

Booked the Thatched Cottage for a party of 13 for my partners birthday. It was a surprise meal and honestly I was really disappointed. The food was lovely do not get me wrong. However the staff attitude and treatment we received was really poor. Now I understand it was a group with one woman and 12 men, however they are all respectable and did not cause any issues. And might I add the private party was all men. As well as the general set up for the meal being really poor and ill thought through. The tables were squished in the corner and I myself was wedged up agaisnt the window and we had to climb over one another to get in and out. The resturant was empty so they could have easily given more room. We were forced into having our food brought out, it was a 3 course meal and without even having all our drinks delivered they told us they were going to bring our starters out. I had discussed and agreed with them that the birthday boy would order on the day. They forgot about him. We had to tell them that he needed to order which was really poor. We were rushed through our meal and the private party next door definitely got better attention, service and quality of experience. Although I understand, having worked in hospitality myself, that It can be difficult to keep on top when you have large groups in. However I do not think it is acceptable to favor one party over the other. And show a lack of attention to one group and to then try and get them through their meal is really poor. Considering our bill was nearly £700 and we weren't drinking I think it was rather disappointing how it was handled. Would go again as a small meal but would definitely not book a party here again.

Lovely old building with so much history, have a Google!! We sat out on the terrace over looking the beach. Had a delicious Baileys hot chocolate. Popped in to pay the bill and had a word with the lovely lady that owns it. Very friendly.

Had the Sunday Roast sharing platter really lovely and quick service. Well worth a visit make sure you are hungry though.

The best T-bone steak I’ve ever eaten, especially with the red wine and Stilton sauce. (Need that recipe!!) Excellent service and spotlessly clean. Loved having dinner undercover outside in front of the fire pit when it was throwing it down with rain. Highly recommend.

Very busy Sunday, wanted a table just for a drink. Ended up 4 adults and 2 children squashed around a small round table. While there were other tables available... wouldn't rush back, as felt in the way.

We visited here yesterday whilst on a mini break in Weston Super Mare. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food options were good and the portions were plentiful. We had Sunday lunch and there was so much meat, and all cooked to perfection. I shared the chocolate brownie with my Husband, and that was not to our taste, but nothing wrong with it, just our preference, so please do not let this put you off. There was only one thing that let this place down for me, and it was pretty much a “wrong time, wrong place” moment for me. I took my Daughter into the toilets and one cubicle was in such a horrible and disgusting state that we went into another cubicle, which was clean. Whilst in the cubicle someone went in to clean it and they came out of the cubicle whilst me and my Daughter were washing our hands. I couldn’t see who it was but I am sure they had the same tabard on that they had been using in all areas, but what bothered me the most was that after cleaning the toilet they literally walked straight out without washing their hands, touching the door handles on route. This got me questioning hygiene practices, particularly as the toilet was disgusting. I know we were at the sink, but there was two sinks so one was free, and if she wanted to wait it was only for a couple of minutes. I resorted to using the metal foot plate at the door to struggle opening it to avoid me and my Daughter touching the door handle to leave. It surprised me as the restaurant was clean and hygienic otherwise.

Had poor experience last night with a 2 hour long meal with long waits between courses ,loud music and cold food. When spoken to , waitress replied ' well it is Friday and we have a party and we're short staffed" no attempt at apologising , a very poor standard and so disappointing. Not the standard we expected

It’s so good to see a long - established family restaurant doing well. Our fishes ( sole and haddock) were fresh and sweet ; a real joy. The new potatoes were buttery and the haricots vert were fresh and tender. The restaurant had a great buzz of customers enjoying themselves and the staff were mega efficient. Very reasonable prices too! Well done.

Booked a table as I was down in Bristol and my mum and her friend were holidaying in Weston. Booked online and asked for an accessible table as my mum and her friend are both in their late 80s. We were given a lovely big table in the window which we really appreciated. My mum and her friend don't have the biggest of appetites so we ordered from the Tapas menu. We had five separate little dishes and all were lovely. We were really pleased with the table, meal, service and atmosphere. I was also really impressed that my pint of lime and soda only cost 50p for two shots of lime with no charge for the soda water - a very rare thing indeed. Thank you Old Thatched Cottage.

Although it was a rainy evening we sat outside. Received a friendly welcome which continued throughout our visit. Lovely Mediterranean menu. Great size portions, generous with the meat; all of which tasted delicious. Non alcoholic cooler was a delight as were the desserts. Would have no hesitation recommending this place.

Excellent food that came quickly to the table. The staff was very friendly and kind so we really enjoyed our dinner.

A long standing and family run restaurant right on the sea front. A spot-on lunch experience with a choice of outdoor sunny dining or a more sheltered and quieter experience inside with Immaculate bathroom facilities. A daily non alcoholic cocktail or draught lager and a comprehensive starter, main and dessert menu. All served by fast and friendly staff. Frequent restaurant patrons, we honestly couldn't fault it. Try the especially delicious chicken liver pate followed by lamb shank. You'll be hard pushed to eat the full 3 course Monte. Highly recommended by frequent foodies. Can't wait for an evening meal opportunity.

Had the most fantastic afternoon, food was amazing and staff was very nice and friendly,manager was absolutely amazing when my friends boy hurt himself and bumped his head she went out of her way to make sure he was alright and even took him to buy an ice cream and a ball from the shop. Went for Birthday meal. Steak. Fillet. 32 quid . Over cooked. Not the only one of the night saying steaks were over done. Anyhoo over all very good apart from steaks. Learn to cook your steaks

We managed to find a wonderful bar/restaurant that serves the best Sunday roast ever. I would recommend the sharing platter. Everything tasted divine.Everything was homemade including the mint sauce .l would also like to add that Julia , our host was also wonderful . She was attentive, polite and went out of her way to make our visit a memorable one. Can’t rate this place more. If you are in Weston super mare get down here. Fire pits outside too if the weather isn’t favourable

Food absolutely fantastic. Very tasty, plenty of a wonderful roast lunch. Staff friendly and helpful. Very noisy in a small side room, but that was the rowdy customers, otherwise the venue is lovely, clean and comfortable. Highly recommended. Will definitely rebook soon.

We went to this beautiful place for our friends 21st wedding anniversary celebration meal , there was 6 of us in total. The service was amazing . All staff were very accommodating and friendly, the food was amazing , I had a prawn cocktail to start and then had a grilled chicken salad, the food was beautifully made and presented beautifully. The drinks menu was very good price wise and the price of the food matched the quality of the food. Very enjoyable experience. Well worth a visit.
