Had the Sunday Roast sharing platter really lovely and quick service. Well worth a visit make sure you are hungry though.

Delicious greek food, great attentive service. We sat outside at one of the fire pit tables and the atmosphere was amazing, really warm and cosy. Would highly reccomend and will be back.

Very busy Sunday, wanted a table just for a drink. Ended up 4 adults and 2 children squashed around a small round table. While there were other tables available... wouldn't rush back, as felt in the way.

Terrible service, complete lack of attention. Waitress was very moody. Also, kid on next table vomited, no one cleaned it up, just left it. I question the hygiene in this restaurant. Will not being coming back

We visited here yesterday whilst on a mini break in Weston Super Mare. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food options were good and the portions were plentiful. We had Sunday lunch and there was so much meat, and all cooked to perfection. I shared the chocolate brownie with my Husband, and that was not to our taste, but nothing wrong with it, just our preference, so please do not let this put you off. There was only one thing that let this place down for me, and it was pretty much a “wrong time, wrong place” moment for me. I took my Daughter into the toilets and one cubicle was in such a horrible and disgusting state that we went into another cubicle, which was clean. Whilst in the cubicle someone went in to clean it and they came out of the cubicle whilst me and my Daughter were washing our hands. I couldn’t see who it was but I am sure they had the same tabard on that they had been using in all areas, but what bothered me the most was that after cleaning the toilet they literally walked straight out without washing their hands, touching the door handles on route. This got me questioning hygiene practices, particularly as the toilet was disgusting. I know we were at the sink, but there was two sinks so one was free, and if she wanted to wait it was only for a couple of minutes. I resorted to using the metal foot plate at the door to struggle opening it to avoid me and my Daughter touching the door handle to leave. It surprised me as the restaurant was clean and hygienic otherwise.

Had poor experience last night with a 2 hour long meal with long waits between courses ,loud music and cold food. When spoken to , waitress replied ' well it is Friday and we have a party and we're short staffed" no attempt at apologising , a very poor standard and so disappointing. Not the standard we expected

It’s so good to see a long - established family restaurant doing well. Our fishes ( sole and haddock) were fresh and sweet ; a real joy. The new potatoes were buttery and the haricots vert were fresh and tender. The restaurant had a great buzz of customers enjoying themselves and the staff were mega efficient. Very reasonable prices too! Well done.

This place was beautiful and lovely food .we had our meal outside the service was good .we tried all sorts on the menu .I would have scored five but some little niggles on wrong food but it got sorted.lovely place for a meal.toilets spotless too

Booked a table as I was down in Bristol and my mum and her friend were holidaying in Weston. Booked online and asked for an accessible table as my mum and her friend are both in their late 80s. We were given a lovely big table in the window which we really appreciated. My mum and her friend don't have the biggest of appetites so we ordered from the Tapas menu. We had five separate little dishes and all were lovely. We were really pleased with the table, meal, service and atmosphere. I was also really impressed that my pint of lime and soda only cost 50p for two shots of lime with no charge for the soda water - a very rare thing indeed. Thank you Old Thatched Cottage.

Although it was a rainy evening we sat outside. Received a friendly welcome which continued throughout our visit. Lovely Mediterranean menu. Great size portions, generous with the meat; all of which tasted delicious. Non alcoholic cooler was a delight as were the desserts. Would have no hesitation recommending this place.

Excellent food that came quickly to the table. The staff was very friendly and kind so we really enjoyed our dinner.

A long standing and family run restaurant right on the sea front. A spot-on lunch experience with a choice of outdoor sunny dining or a more sheltered and quieter experience inside with Immaculate bathroom facilities. A daily non alcoholic cocktail or draught lager and a comprehensive starter, main and dessert menu. All served by fast and friendly staff. Frequent restaurant patrons, we honestly couldn't fault it. Try the especially delicious chicken liver pate followed by lamb shank. You'll be hard pushed to eat the full 3 course Monte. Highly recommended by frequent foodies. Can't wait for an evening meal opportunity.

Had the most fantastic afternoon, food was amazing and staff was very nice and friendly,manager was absolutely amazing when my friends boy hurt himself and bumped his head she went out of her way to make sure he was alright and even took him to buy an ice cream and a ball from the shop. Thankyou ☺️

Went for Birthday meal. Steak. Fillet. 32 quid . Over cooked. Not the only one of the night saying steaks were over done. Anyhoo over all very good apart from steaks. Learn to cook your steaks

We managed to find a wonderful bar/restaurant that serves the best Sunday roast ever. I would recommend the sharing platter. Everything tasted divine.Everything was homemade including the mint sauce .l would also like to add that Julia , our host was also wonderful . She was attentive, polite and went out of her way to make our visit a memorable one. Can’t rate this place more. If you are in Weston super mare get down here. Fire pits outside too if the weather isn’t favourable

Food absolutely fantastic. Very tasty, plenty of a wonderful roast lunch. Staff friendly and helpful. Very noisy in a small side room, but that was the rowdy customers, otherwise the venue is lovely, clean and comfortable. Highly recommended. Will definitely rebook soon.

We went to this beautiful place for our friends 21st wedding anniversary celebration meal , there was 6 of us in total. The service was amazing . All staff were very accommodating and friendly, the food was amazing , I had a prawn cocktail to start and then had a grilled chicken salad, the food was beautifully made and presented beautifully. The drinks menu was very good price wise and the price of the food matched the quality of the food. Very enjoyable experience. Well worth a visit.

Food was very good, staff friendly but the only thing that annoyed me a bit was the fact that Guinness is not served in Guinness glasses and both times was served in warm glasses therefore making the drink warm

Unfortunately I had bad food poisoning after having the lamb dish, left me unwell for days. I know it was the lamb, as my dog was also unwell with diarrhoea and I fed him the lamb too.

My husband and I went here after reccomendation. Staff were very pleasent. Husband loved his fish and chips ( he loves haddock) but I had the kleftiko, unfortunately I was a little disappointed. The lamb itsself was very tender, the veg was lovely, but the kleftiko lacked in flavour.,It couldn't be compared to the local Greek restaurant in the town which was a shame.

Had cocktails and scone. Scone was a little dry and not advettised as a fruit scone. The cocktail was amazing. Waitress was lovely, prompt, responsive, and helpful

Really busy place and fair play to the staff, they work really hard to serve everyone and with a smile on their face. Food was lovely. Its a hidden gem. Walking past you'd just think its a gastro pub but it's much more. Highly recommended

Very lovely meals good portions. Owned by Greek cooks boy they are good cooks. Music was too loud for eating and rock music for a Sunday evening. I did ask them to turn it down.

It was a hot sunny, sunday, despite this the staff were fully attentive to our needs. The portions were excellent, definitely worth the money. Absolutely will recommend to others

Went for an early evening stroll up Weston's prom, and stopped at the old thatched cottage for a meal. My partner had chicken skewers with the greek salad... Whilst I had the good old kleftico lamb shank . Food was lovely however the service was a little slow, I can only put this down to the amount of people there on a lovely evening. We had a lovely view of the promenade and some nice ciders. We will return... Special mention to the salt seller... That was probably made from part of robocops helmet.

Service was very good and attentive, however the food was overpriced and under portioned. For example, £18.95 for two small chicken skewers, one pitta bread and a small salad - Chicken Souvlaki.

Glad to find a decent lunch! Food was good, nice mix of dishes on the menu. No-ones fault but I was sat in a draft - didn't complain at the time as restaurant was full and staff obviously busy. I had the bouillabaisse and it was well stocked with seafood, although I had to ask for a finger bowl. Will return.

Once upon a time this was a great place but not visited for some time so we thought we'd visit as we were in the area. Interior design is completely at odds with the history of the building and lacks any ambience. Kleftiko was ok but not as tender as it should be. Calamari was undercooked. Pork chop was like rubber. Service was ok. I'm afraid we won't be returning

I recently visited with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations.My experience was deeply disappointing and tainted by the presence of racism. Until significant changes are made, I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to others. Considering the subpar quality of the food, the prices were unjustifiably high. The portions were small, and the overall dining experience did not justify the expense.

Great family Sunday lunch here for 22 people. Food excellent with great service also headed up by Julia, a thoroughly pleasant experience from start to finish. Meals were delivered faultlessly & hot. Would recommend & visit again if in Weston.

A good value Sunday roast sharing board with mixed of three local meat and veggies. Love the lamb leg and the roasted cheese cauliflower and parsnips!! Nice outdoor sitting area with fire pit , enjoy my cider and food in front of seaside . What’s a great way to spend my Sunday ! Their service is good ! Although many clients on the day , but the waitress is very efficient and always check if we are good .

Popped in for food after a blustery dog walk on the beach. Very warm welcome and excellent fish and chip meal. Will definitely be returning when we visit Weston again.

Lovely t-bone steak Great service

I came in earlier for drinks at about 2pm. I booked a table outside next to the fire for 8pm I got there 19.50 and it had just started raining and the waitress who I had booked with earlier was there. Before I could even say a word very bluntly said sorry no tables available outside only inside even though we could see where the table we booked had been set. There was also other people sitting outside receiving food. She then walked off before I could even say a word. I felt it was very rude and I also felt embarrassed at how I had just been treated. I left and went to another restaurant. If she didn’t want to serve out in the rain she should have just been honest with me and I would have respected that and probably stayed. But it was the attitude that put me off and won’t be returning.

Lovely food and very friendly service however the wait time was crazy. We didn’t get offered even a drink for 15/20 minutes and had no menus to look over for that time. Shame as it would have been a pleasant experience if it wasn’t for the wait

We have loved this restaurant for years but, now, nostalgia isn't enough to keep us going back. The dish we loved the most, kleftiko, is now average at best, the staff surly and it is over priced for what we got. The standard has dropped but not the prices. Shame. My husband liked his pork chop but it wasn't good enough to overcome everything else.

Best place to have a meal for my 40th birthday and worth the travel, my partner booked here knowing how much I enjoyed it on our first visit last year and yet again did not disappoint, I am lucky enough to live around some amazing places to eat but here is still my favourite, Prawn cocktail started was very tasty ( maybe abit more of the bread is needed) but saying that is was delicious and my partner she had the calamari which was lovely and we both had the duck for mains, well cooked and very well presented and the birthday brownie the stag brought out even though I was full I fitted it in and so glad I did overall thank you for a lovely meal and lovely experience (again)

Amazing experience! The grilled halloumi was delicious and the salad accompanying it was seasoned perfectly. The turkey Sunday roast was tender, juicy and there was a lot of meat, unlike many other places where they only give you a slice or two. The potatoes were crispy and soft on the inside. Beautiful location on the Weston promenade. Friendly waitresses! Will definitely be back!

We went for drinks and decided to stay for a meal. While we were sat at the table someone had booked it. We asked to speak to the manager. When she came out she was rude, aggressive and unprofessional.

The food here is amazing, we have just enjoyed a fantastic meal in a wonderful building with excellent service. All our food was served quickly and everything was cooked wonderfully. The servers were friendly and helpful. The building itself has a great history too. Lovely atmosphere and good seating. We will DEFINITELY be back

We both had really great meals, starters plus mains, wonderfully cooked and served by attentive staff who were polite and considerate. Service was swift. Great portions so we could not fit in a dessert. We will go back and try other dishes on their excellent menu. Great value, thanks to all of the staff.

10 of us went to celebrate my son’s 18th birthday. We were made very welcome. Service was good and we all had different dishes, which all came quickly and at the same time,. Everyone enjoyed their food, which was delicious. We brought a cake with us, which staff were happy to bring out, at the end of the meal, which of course replaced us buying a dessert. All in all I was very impressed, and having lived in the area for many years, this being my first visit, it won’t be the last. A great night with lovely food and a fantastic setting.

Can’t believe I’ve never been before. It was a birthday treat on a Sunday, and we had starters & a roast. The lamb was delicious- it was all very scrummy. The staff were friendly & efficient can’t wait to go again.
