Quality establishment which is really well run with amazing bar and excellent food. Rooms are fitted out to really high standard and really comfortable. Perfect stopover for southwest coastal path walkers.

Excellent place to sit down after some fourth dimensional openings of the mind and wait for it to all blow over. The view is just stunning facing the sea and the cliffs. But behind you is an ugly shady american motel, the kind that Reacher would dream to stay in. Highly recommend to all!

Staff were so friendly. It was a beautiful stay but we had some real issues which I’ve numbered below. I really wanted to write a 5 star rating so I write this in hopes of some staff training and or changes. We would still return please note but we would def change some things. The food has greatly improved based on other reviews because I will say, we tried a lot of different items on the menu and enjoyed them all. Breakfast was great and the hot food options were great. I liked the angus burger (dinner) so much I got it twice. Loved the view and artwork in the room. Teal and mustard yellow looks so good! Attention to detail; there is a little stair & step-up into the bathroom. It has a nightlight that’s auto shut on/off. It doesn’t stay on too long and it illuminates so you don’t trip. That was awesome. Ok ! So the issues: 1. Not all the bedroom windows had curtains in suite 14 (see photo) Only 1/3 bedroom windows had curtains..this left LOTS of light coming in very early. Management may not be aware as they probably don’t sleep here. Problematic especially for travellers overseas this isn’t good for jet lag! 2. Staff walking into our room multiple times without giving us a chance to answer the door. Yep. Twice. Knock and then RIGHT into the room. The second time my husband was shirtless and she was embarrassed and apologized profusely. Thank you for that. It helped with the situation. The third time they knocked (this was all before noon btw) she waited for me to come to the door. Im assuming they probably talked about it with eachother! So third time was a charm. A simple “do not disturb” or “service” sign could fix this. Possibly nailed up since no door regular door knob. Even making guests request service to a room could work. It’s not good for staff safety either to be entering rooms with guests unknowingly. Easy fix for this though! 3. No body wash or soap was provided. Only shampoo and conditioner (see photo) Thankfully I had a sample body wash and soap from Sephora in my bag still. The hand wash could have opted as a body wash but it was locked into the wall at the bathroom sink. You couldn’t move it. 4. Toilet paper. Yep. Didn’t think I’d complain about that but they started us off with 2 ply.. and left us with 1 ply .. we stayed for 6 nights. It wasn’t nice. Also no bidet. We didn’t understand that change but would have accepted it if we knew that’s all they had. We got the 2 ply again !! Gas station toilet paper for days wasn’t going to be nice and for the price per night 185£ (just over 300 CAD/night) please don’t cheap out on this!! It should be something people don’t think about. I hadn’t thought about it till this stay. 5. When we got back to our room at 8pm from a day out in St Ives, we went to unlock the door and was not clicked shut by the staff after cleaning the room. It was left unlocked all day. You need to really pull in the door to shut it closed and lock it. It’s got a weird pull tab. However , it was just not acceptable for this to be overlooked. Staff need to make sure they lock up behind them. I was really uncomfortable for the last night there. We appreciated the service of our room but :( 6. Suite is above a staircase that’s not carpeted, so footsteps are very loud. Surprisingly very little chatter or voices could be heard though! Which was good. It was forgiving. Overall thanks for hosting us. I hope it was just an off week! If you need clarification on anything, I’ll be glad to respond to my review. Thanks Success. For an Inn.. definite 3/5 for this stay. Total potential there for a 5/5!!

We arrived at The Old Success with high expectations of a decent lunch. What we got was below average pub grub. Sorry guys but the only meal that managed to score an 'average' was my fish and chips. There was no point complaining at the time, we'd already paid at the bar on ordering, and we weren't going to ask for six meals to be put right. The beer and other drinks were fine so we drunk up and laughed it off.

One of the best Sunday roasts, absolutely delicious. All staff were friendly and the pub has a really good vibe. Highly recommended.

Very beautiful and spacious room tastefully decorated in the fairly recent annex of the hotel. In the evening we ate great Fish and Chips in a friendly atmosphere.

Visiting from Canada, Josh and Molly gave us stellar service in the bar/restaurant. Sparked up some great conversation and I’d definitely recommend coming through here! Josh makes good cocktails. Very friendly and personable, not just because it’s their job but because they just seem like genuine people :) They really added to our experience. Good food. We ordered Cajun chicken and the beef burger, going to come back again. Good job guys! We felt so welcomed.

Stayed in room 20, rooms decorated and equipped to a high standard, stunning views- tables outside didnt really spoil that to much as it was relatively quiet. The food was nice, service and staff very helpful. Lovely area. Nothing negative to say a lovely two night stay.

We’ve just spent a week in Sennen Cove and frequented the Old Success each day with our dogs for a drink and/or a meal. We can’t recommend it highly enough! The welcoming staff (Leah, Tom, Babs, Hannah and Josh B deserve a special mention!!), great selection of beers and wine and, importantly, delicious Cornish fare made it a pleasurable visit each day!! Be sure not to miss this special corner of Sennen Cove on your next visit. You definitely won’t be disappointed!

Mediocre pub that has zero parking unless you pay over the road at the pay and display. Not the best location in my opinion.

Spent one night here in adjoining sea view rooms in the attached complex. The accommodation is great quality and has been furnished with a really high attention to detail. Bed was very comfortable and whilst it was rough outside we didn’t really hear it. Dinner and breakfast in the Inn were both delicious, well cooked, good portion sizes and tasty food. Clean plates all round. Will return.

Excellent food and service! We were really impressed with the food when we visited for dinner last night. They had run out of moules so I was a bit disappointed but the fish and chips were delicious! Super tasty 'posh' ketchup on the tables too. We will definitely be back.

It started ok, we were offered drinks at our table and on their delivery we made our food order of starters and mains. The starters were passable, squid was good, flat bread with olives etc ok though far too little balsamic in the oil and the bruschetta tasted quite good but was served at refrigerator temperatures so was disappointing. We then had to wait an hour and a half not once was any explanation volunteered or an were we asked if we wanted anything else, staff seemed quite stressed, can’t say I would ever return now and have previously enjoyed meals there but the feeling is they got their money and don’t really care as they can rely on their location as too often happens here in Cornwall.

It took too far long for our main courses to arrive. The starters were ok but my husband and son’s bruschetta with heritage tomatoes was ‘fridge’ cold so the toast was soggy and the tomatoes tasteless and cotton woolly. The squid starters were good however. We waited and hour and a half for the mains by which time our 3 teenage kids had lost their appetite and good humour. The roasts were again ok and the burgers too but at the price was definitely not justified by the wait. No apology, explanation or sweetener from the waiting staff even when it came to pay the bill. We know Sennen is a very popular busy tourist destination but we were so dissapointed as locals to Cornwall to have this experience. We are very unlikely to return to the Old Success Inn. My husband makes a fantastic picnic lunch - that’s what we’ll do next time. Sennen beach is a perfect setting for it!

Wow !! A family group of nine of us have just had a wonderful Sunday roast at this lovely inn. Delicious food. The service was very attentive and friendly. A must go to for all visiting Sennen Cove.

Great place to rest your legs. Great coffee and we had a sneaky bowl of fab chips!

Stopped by for lunch. Out of season so gorgeously quiet. Young bar staff very welcoming. Food was lovely.Pie and mash and a Southern Fried chicken wrap. Well presented very filling. Very ambient pub. A must visit but perhaps not in high season as it will be rammed.

We have just enjoyed a fabulous 2 night stay at The Old Success Inn. The 2 days were filled with delicious food, fab service and beautiful wine! Finished off brilliantly with pancakes for breakfast! We can't wait to come back, especially for the Sunday Roast which was a real highlight! Perfectly washed down with a Guinness or 2 and the Six Nations in a very welcoming atmosphere. Well done to all of the team at The Old Success!

Has been refurbished multiple times ,right on the sea,beautiful location in sennen cove .Open fire ,fairy lights ,& dimmed lighting giving a cosy feel ,staff friendly and efficient ,very clean .What lets it down is a very basic run of the mill menu ,no steak available so burgers (no thank you ) bruschetta @ over £7 ! Salt and pepper squid was ok ,tiny bowl of olives with no bread or balsamic dip so pretty uninspiring,my friend had a burger ,I had new pots ,peas & peppercorn sauce you could of hung wallpaper with, its a shame this pub gets through a manager a year so there's no continuity,I would stay here for location as my friend did for 1 night & he was happy with his room. Whoever is responsible for hiring is terrible at their job ,& causes no end of pain to those who have been there for years trying to hold a rudderless ship together ,they also aren't good at retaining staff but are good at getting rid of them before their trial is up!! St Austell please 🙏 look at your senior management ,your everyday staff are whats holding your business together

Lovely overnight stay. We are both vegan. Plenty of choice. Vegan breakfast was very good too. We had a beautiful sea view room in main building. Staff were really attentive and helpful. Thank you missing it already.....

Had a Sunday roast here whilst visiting for the weekend. A lovely, welcoming oldinn, with friendly, helpful staff and oh such nice food. Eat here if you are lucky enough to get a table! Salt and pepper squid was excellent as was gge roast beef.

Second visit back in November 23. Amazing as ever. Babe and team go out of their way to make your stay perfect. I can't recommend enough. Incredible dog friendly rooms virtually on the beach, Cant wait to make it visit 3!!!

Being winter we were able to enjoy a truly delicious Sunday roast in the evening . They serve them until they run out...am definitely going back

Had a fabulous meal, can recommend the Moules Mariniere and the Mushroom Risotto. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Dog friendly pub with a ‘pawsome’ dog station supplying water, biscuits and dog blankets. Well worth a visit!

Nice place with a good meal, nice setting

Despite it being very cold our room was cosy with the wall heater, we ate in the pub and enjoyed the local beer and lager! The steak and ale pie was delicious! The beach was gorgeous! A lovely small quiet place (in January!) Many thanks

Eat in the bar in the winter, outside in the summer. Great setting and staff. Proper barista coffee for breakfast would make it perfect!

Superb food, lovely accommodation, friendly & helpful staff, warm atmosphere in the Bar area, a great experience. Stayed in November when the weather was windy & wet but still managed a walk or two. All the food is good and the Chicken Malaysian Laksa is to die for (there is a veggie option as well). The owners have invested a huge amount refurbishing the main building bedrooms which are gorgeous and must be tried. We will return in the Spring/summer to get the ‘full’ Cornish Senna experience!

We snuck off here for a few days after eloping, we were upgraded to the most incredible room and the staff and service were wonderful. Amazing food at breakfast and dinner and just an overall incredible place we cannot wait to come back to year after year. I could have just sat on the window seat and watched the world go by for our entire stay 🥰

This was our third visit and again it didnt disappoint! We stayed over the Christmas period and booked the Christmas package in a superior first floor room. We'll all I can say is wow, wow, wow! Looked after from start to finish. Lovely touch of bag of goodies on arrival, including beers and prosecco. Both day breakfasts were tasty and plentiful. Christmas lunch was second to none, well done to the chefs. We weren't rushed to eat and the waiting staff were extremely attentive, 5 stars to you all for making our Christmas so special. I do hope you all got some well deserved rest when the rush was over. The evening platter sent to our room was full of tasty meats, cheese and nibbles, just right after a heavy lunch. All in all we had the most amazing time so thank you everyone and see you next time. Chris & Andy xxx

Amazing place to stay and eat. Made to feel so welcome very dog friendly beers treats and water available for dogs at pub. Extra sausage at breakfast for our doggie too. Food was beautiful loved our stay didn't want to go home

Felt the whole experience was a let down. Many things were not available from the menu so early in the evening. (We felt sorry for those arriving later). Food was adequate (and not our original choice) but the dishes were only luke warm and we did not like to complain as all the waitress could say was sorry (we heard this many times during our visit) - we felt for her! Had many nice meals here before but this was not one of them. We would not normally write a review but was asked via email for a review.

Very nice comfortable room, which was spotlessly clean. Excellent location right on the beach with incredible views of sea. Good breakfast, and food served all day in the pub. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Just come back from a fabulous Xmas break at the Old Success Inn it was a lovely time nothing was too much trouble our room and sea view were fantastic the staff were so helpful no matter what the request might be we look forward to our next stay.

Benefits from a lovely location and it has always been busy when we have visited. Stopped for a late lunch and we all enjoyed our food immensely. I went for the veggie burger, 3 members of the party decided on the fish finger sandwich, with the final member of the group having the steak baguette. The food was enjoyed equally by all, lovely atmosphere and stunning scenery. I have visited this pub many times over a period of 30+ years and never been disappointed. Best to book if you are planning to eat in the summer! Shout out to the staff as well, who are always friendly and welcoming :)

We visited the Old Success Inn for a family lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Having grown up in the local area and having elderly relatives living locally we thought we’d book lunch as we transited through. We booked our table on line and received confirmation of the booked the same day. The bar doesn’t have a dedicated car park, but there is a pay and display car park across the road from the bar which had many empty spaces. However, I’d imagine that if you were to visit in the summer you may struggle to find a parking bay as it’s a renowned tourist spot with a great beach and coastal walks. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. There was a good selection of wines available and a modest selection of draught lagers and local ales. Unfortunately they had run out of the bottle of wine we wanted but had an alternative in stock. There was a good selection on the lunch menu for all ages which included local seafood. The food arrived without a long wait and was well presented and hot. The hake was delicious and probably one of the best we’ve had. The staff and service were very good and we would recommend the bar for food and drinks. There’s also a good sized outside area with tables to enjoy a drink and take in the views. It is also dog and child friendly which is an added bonus for many.

The staff were all very friendly, including with our two dogs. The food was great and the pub is cosy and interesting.

Lovely place to stay, or just for a well kept pint of Korev. I stayed one night, the lamps and radio were on to greet me on arrival to my room, Nespresso machine ready to awaken me after a long journey. The staff from check in desk, to bar, to breakfast service were all so warm and welcoming. The decor of the rooms and the playlist in the bar and restaurant were faultless too, something for everyone.

We stayed here for a couple of days holiday.. and experienced the breakfast, lunch and dinner.. Food delicious and well presented. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff, and hats of to Josie, the two Josh’s and Leah and Bab’s for making our visit one to remember.

We had lunch in the pub to celebrate our parents 52nd anniversary and the staff were so lovely to us, they really made our mum and dad feel special and welcome. We have been before and we will definitely go again, very dog friendly and the best view too!

We were very pleasantly surpised by the food that we had. Staff were very friendly and the service excellent. The seafood linguine was so tasty. I know that some of the other diners found the food quite spicy but we like it like that. Not cheap but the quality of the food made up for it. Definitely would go back again.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough especially for those wanting to dine with their dogs. Had an amazing Sunday roast with a sea view and our beloved dog was made welcome with his own dog bed, bowl of water and treats. Fabulous service and great atmosphere!

Great waiter food good nice atmosphere

An amazing experience all-round. We were looked after from start to finish by Jonno, Josh and the team and couldn’t have felt more welcomed with our 4 month old Vizsla puppy! When they state dog friendly they really do mean it. The rooms were great: clean, well furnished and we were asked every day if there was anything we needed by the friendly room-service (sorry we didn’t get names!) The food was amazing. Like, really really good. Thank you for our short but amazing stay. Couldn’t have asked for better.

Could not be more impressed with the food and service at this lovely beach front pub. We stayed for 3 nights with our very young puppy. Jonno, Josh and the team really could not be more welcoming. The relaxed atmosphere was perfect for our puppy who loved every ounce of attention! We can't wait to come back soon for another stay!

I booked lunch for 12pm. The food arrived after 12.45. I didn't have enough time to finish my meal because I was on a meter. We had a visit from the waitress at 12.30 to say that one thing we ordered wasn't available and a visit from a cockroach which the waitress disposed of. We weren't bothered by the cockroach, after all because when you're so close to nature, sometimes it can't be avoided but the laisez-faire attitude of the staff was no good. Come on guys! You have a great location and Sennen desperately needs a good place for people to eat.

The rooms in the annexe are particularly well thought through and designed. Very comfortable. And the views from the bedrooms are fabulous. As for food; the evening meal of fish and chips was very good - hake was a bit of a welcome surprise - and the breakfast, equally so. You need to be aware of the off-site car parking requirement.

Visited on numerous occasions over the years and must say we preferred it before it was "modernised " . Food was quite nice and the guy serving the food worked really hard but one of the bar men obviously didn't want to be there. Not rude but totally not engaging with the customer . What a shame.

Fab pub right on the sea front. Car park (chargable) close by. Lovely atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff. Food was lovely, service was great. Rooms were comfortable with everything you need. See u again one day!!

After a lack luster start to our time in Lands End this place was the perfect pick me up. All of the staff, especially the covering manager Glen, were so welcoming and more than accommodating for us and our dogs. The food was amazing from start to finish and the atmosphere was just perfect. We have booked in again tomorrow for my wifes birthday meal!!

They try hard, but there is something missing. The love? It has all the elements of being a fantastic place, but doesn't quite hit the mark. Bathroom not quite clean enough. Breakfast inconsistent. Room not serviced efficiently. That said, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Looks like an ordinary pub but the food is better and the service is excellent. Waitresses are so cheery, friendly and efficient I hope they are on a profit sharing scheme. Panacotta is my favourite desert and Old Sucess's is the best.
