Friendly, welcoming volunteers, and lovely home baking. There was a wide range of cakes, scones, traybakes, shortbread, etc, on offer - we were spoilt for choice. It's definitely worth a visit and a great way to support the local community.

I found information about this place on the internet. Information told me that the cafe was open on Wednesday afternoons. We duly arrived and found ourselves sitting with a group of women crafting and chatting. We were immediately offered a cuppa and cakes. My husband found it fascinating talking to the locals as his father worked in the area 70 years ago. My understanding is that the old school house has been modernised and a newly fitted kitchen has been appointed. It is not currently officially open until there are more volunteers. However, there is a drop in for locals on Wednesday afternoons open from @ 2 until 4 pm.

We stopped by for takeaway teas and cakes and the cakes were delicious. The two ladies serving were very friendly and cheery and were happy to chat for a while. It's a shame it's not open a bit more often - we'd definitely have gone more during our 2 week holiday if it was open more.

Ok so it’s just off route 500 but well worth a short detour. It is an old school house you sit outside with COVID restrictions in place. Best coffee had so far in Scotland as was the shortbread . Try it

We dropped in on a cool, afternoon while touring the region. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. A definite 10/10 experience.

This is without doubt one of the best attractions is Wester Ross. The welcome is warm and genuine. We visited at various times during our two week stay in the area. A big thank you to all the volunteers who each time went out of their way to take time to talk to the visitors. The lady originally from Ayr and Jane from New Zealand were very informative about the background to this community venue, which aims to offer a gathering place for locals and visitors alike. The baking is outstanding, especially the coffee cake, lemon drizzle cake and victoria sponge. in additions the coffee is ground coffee served in a cafetiere. This I believe encourages visitors to ensure that the donation reflects the the quality of what is served up in the tearoom. The exhibitions tell the history of the school and the history of the area and are very informative. I would encourage anyone reading this review to visit, you will not be disappointed. Please gift aid your donation if you are a tax payer as this helps support the work of the Old Schoolhouse Tearoom.

We drove up to the magnificent Firemore beach to walk the dog and then drove back down the road to the old Inverasdale school now run by volunteers with a cafe on Weds and Friday afternoon for some lovely tea and cake and interesting displays/ history and good company.

The tea room is a former local school that no longer has enough pupils to keep it open. It has been bought by a community based group to promote and sustain the local community. My wife and i called in for afternoon tea on Wednesday 21st August 2019 and received a warm, friendly and genuine welcome. To say that we enjoyed the experience would be an understatement. The cafe is open for afternoon teas on Wednesday and Friday from 2.00 pm till 4.30 pm. Go there you won't be disappointed.

Well worth a visit- the display of cakes was mouthwatering! I settled on the Victoria Sponge and it was quite the best I’ve ever tasted. I loved looking at the displays and the volunteers were very welcoming.

We remember when this was a school and it’s great to see that the building is being used and not just allowed to decay. A lot of effort has gone into the displays and information in the rooms leading to the tea room. The tea room is almost a little memory of the past with ladies in their pinnies and a display of home made cakes to die for. A lovely stop off on the road from Poolewe to Cove. Great hot cup of tea with tea pot and a slice of yummy cake.

Open on Wednesday and Friday afternoons during the tourist season this cafe serves a selection of home made cakes and pastries. The very friendly volunteers who run the cafe are delighted to answer questions about the local area. There is a very interesting local history display.

This volunteer-run tea room is a lovely addition to the attractions of the Poolewe area (5 miles from Poolewe on the B8057 to Cove). It is only open on Wednesdays and Fridays 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm but the local welcome is warm and genuine and it’s a chance to sample skilful Scottish handmade baking in a stunning setting in beautiful Wester Ross. Visitors do not ‘pay’, as such, but are asked to give a generous donation towards the coffee, tea and cakes (there’s always a gluten-free choice too). There are also displays of local arts, crafts and produce and 2 free exhibitions. The exhibition room shows the history of Inverasdale School through photographs and artefacts. There is a small dedicated area where young children can draw, colour and play. The other room shows the fascinating history of Wester Loch Ewe. I would encourage anyone to visit this lovely tearoom and help to support the sparse local community and the Wester Loch Ewe Trust who have been working so hard to improve their facilities since the closure of the primary school.

This was the best coffee I had in Skye. They roast their own beans and it shows in the quality of the coffee. The location is lovely as well, there is an outside patio for seating that has beautiful views of the bay. Sweet treats were delicious, too (I recommend the cherry shortbread). Overall highly recommended.

Recomiendo.

Excellent service as always from Roddy and the team for yet another buffet order. Delicious food and perfectly wrapped to accommodate allergies. The sausage rolls and leek & cheese quiches are a must! Thanks again.
