Jess (the manager) was fantastic when organising my sons 18th birthday at the venue. She was responsive/professional and helpful from enquiry to the night. The evening went perfect from beginning to end. All the staff on the night were amazing and nothing was too much to ask. Highly recommend for a private function. The entire place is stunning with a lovely seated area upstairs for those that might want to chill and chat. Jess also recommended a DJ, who was also fantastic. We will deffo be back!

Ok, I’m not normally one to write a bad review but …… what happened???? I was full of high hopes, lovely old building and could be so nice!! Tables are dirty and sticky, no atmosphere, drinks expensive and watered down eg espresso martini. Staff sat outside having a group fag!! Staff aren’t trained in the difference in wine basics… Won’t be going again. Needs new management and a shake up, I should have taken the fact it was empty as a warning sign. Won’t be back,

I went in here for the first time last Friday night. It’s a very good Bar. I only popped in coz a mate of mine owed me £20 and I heard he was in there. Anyway, he was nowhere to be seen. I decided to stay in there and sampled an ice cold San Miguel in a proper glass. It’s was a quality swig and I stayed there for a further 2 hours and decked another 6 or 7. I’ve gotta admit, I don’t remember coming out of there!! I vaguely recall falling over by the Pizza place in Abbot street, but that’s about it! What I do remember though is what a friendly Bar No. 7 is. I got talking to the lad behind the Bar and he told me that he used to work in Sharpe. I worked in Brother in the 80’s and it turned out that out job roles were very similar. Some contractors from down South arrived at one point, and one of the older lads bought me a shot. I’m hoping to go back to No.7 in a few weeks but I’m gonna stay off the ale till the 20th. Regards Brian

We organised a surprise party for our daughter here, and it was fabulous! The bar has lots of character and really is a gem of a venue. Sue and Steve made sure that everything ran smoothly. The party food was lovely, we ordered sharing platters which were perfect for the occasion. The live music was great and a good time was had by all. Would definitely recommend.

Myself and my friend went to Old No 7 a year ago for a girls night, the food was delicious the service was great and the atmosphere was lovely. A candlelit table surrounded with exposed wooden beams, rustic looking decor and lots of quirky little touches. We were suitable impressed, I recently returned with my Fiancé to find the food was equally as nice, the service just as good and the atomosphere even better and they have added live music downstairs which was a nice surprise once we’d finished our meals. The cocktails are good I wish we’d had more time to try them all. All round lovely little place to go, it was so nice to break the tradition of big chain food halls and go local with fresh ingredients. Highly recommended and will definitely be returning with family to share in the experience.

Not far from the beautiful City of Chester, hidden in Wrexham, is a restaurant and bar of delightful charm. The listed building is gorgeous beyond belief and the perfect setting for a quiet candle lit dinner. Steaks are definitely a specialty and their other offerings are equally scrumptious. The staff are very friendly, efficient and professional whilst No. 7’s management quietly steer the ship unseen. Later in the evening the bar comes to life and it’s standing room only...unless the live music entices more animation from the soul!

Food took around an hour and a half for one meal, when the meal arrived the steak was cooked wrong and the sauce was like water and as I poured it over my meal completely ruined the whole thing. The waitress offered to prepare a new sauce to which I told her my meal would then be cold, I asked to speak to the manager who was very rude after I told her I had been waiting almost two hours for my meal she said to me 'two hours are you having a laugh?' The room was very darkly lit upstairs by candles and my mother who has a broken hip nearly fell down the stair in our way out, to which the waitress made a sarcastic comment of mind you don't fall. We asked for our money back and luckily weatherspoons was still serving meals as we got out so late that nowhere else was serving food.

Firstly I must explain I am a very direct customer and quite demanding. But sue and her team rose to the challenge and surpassed any expectations we had. 20 men on a stag party, slightly drunk from a day on the water, fed and watered with seemingly military precision within 75 minutes after our cab ran late. 20 starters + 20 mains & 3 rounds of drinks. Always one member of staff on hand to see to our needs. Seated in the lovely mezzanine area, where we still felt part of the vibe of the pub whilst still feeling as if we were having our own private party. Everyone felt the food was fabulous. I as always had massive food envy of the ribeye steaks which looked so good I had to steal a little bit of someone's. It was even better than it looked, it just melted in my mouth. Even good restaurants don't always do big groups well but that certainly isn't the case with Old No7 Bar Grill. Try it for any important occasion.

a party of 4 for food and drinks, atmosphere was welcoming and the place itself is very relaxed with nice chilled music, our table was ready and we went upstairs to eat, was quite cold upstairs and they had to put on a small heated fan, I ordered tiger prawns and what I receive was more like defrosted jumbo prawns on a skewer with unseasoned rocket.. this was very disappointing especially for £6, I ordered the steak burger for main again quite disappointed was unseasoned no relish and was not a homemade steak burger again for £14 not great, my partner orderd ribs and they were so big they hardly fitted on the plate and were mainly gristle and just unmanageable. the drinks were ok quite sugary and full of syrup and didnt seem to use fresh ingredients especially in the daquaris. I must say though the atmosphere in the place was great at 10pm they had a live singer on and he was very varied and everyone seemed to enjoy him. This place would be fantastic with a few tweaks, better quality drinks especially the cocktails fresh ingredients and proper measures, people will pay for decent drinks just look at voodoo down the road. The food I have to say was quite poor, please research tiger prawns as technically your miss advertising, a few more options on the menu would be good especially as it is a grill maybe some gammon and grilled chicken steaks and better quality steaks and burgers again people will pay for good food. I'm sorry to say I wont be returning again for a meal unless the food is improved as it is over priced for basic standard food you can get in a local 2 for 1. But like I say has great potential as its one of the only other decent places in wrexham. :)

We arrived early for pre dinner drinks. I had a Silver Press cider and my wife had a Cosmopolitan. Downstairs is primarily for drinks and the tables are upstairs in this gorgeous old building with exposed cruck frame. The furnishings are very classy and luxurious. Leather sofas and large low tables. For starters I ordered the tiger prawns. This was the only disappointment of the evening. What I got were 6 normal prawns that I'm sure came from the freezer. For the price and description I was expecting proper 4 inch long tiger prawns (although perhaps not 5 of them). My wife ordered the goats cheese and it was fine. For main course we ordered the 24oz on-the-bone rib eye steak between us with chips, new potatoes, rocket and Parmesan salad and sugar snap peas. The steak was glazed in honey and bourbon. The main course was perfect. The steak was cooked perfectly and was succulent and tender. It says on the menu that the meat is obtained from an award winning butcher in Flint and is locally produced and 21 day matured. In my opinion this is a winning combination and this restaurant should never change it. The steak itself was at least on a par with Marco Pierre Whites steak house in Chester (we have eaten there many times before). The total bill came to £105 with the pre dinner drinks, two 3 course meals and 2 bottles of wine. Very reasonable considering the quality of food (starter aside) and the amazing atmosphere. The place was busy and the crowd were happy and jovial. This would make the venue an ideal place to go for just drinks. It's classy, comfortable and welcoming. The staff are friendly and knowledgable about the food and drinks that are available. Wrexham has been crying out for a top drawer steak restaurant, and now it has one. I have given our overall dining experience at this venue a 5* rating.

Don't know where to start really. Food was overpriced. Cocktails were overpriced. Neither had the flavour you'd hope and expect to get at the prices. I sincerely hope the head chef was on holiday when we visited for my girlfriends birthday as there was no flavour in any of the food. Paid £6.95 for what we're supposed to be garlic and herb tiger prawns, got 6 buttery, rubbery frozen prawns. And for main had the catch of the day, a Cajun spiced cod, which was blandness personified, no heat, no flavour at all, and seemed suspiciously like frozen fish. My girlfriend paid the extra and got a a rib eye steak, judging by the amount ofgrizzle on it I'd hate to see the rump. If we'd bothered going for one of the deserts, which wound d your average bog standard pub deserts, we would hve paid close to £100 all in all for one big let down. Will not be going back nor advising anybody else to visit

Got to say that when you look by the front door that it looks like the place is empty and could put some people off. The lounge is downstairs and a dinning area upstairs. We had some food there in the amasing building probably listed. The dinning room layout and decor would be like in a five star hotel. Service was good, setting is very nice but the food is overpriced for what it is. I think it was £6.95 for the goat's cheese starter, which consisted of a couple of quartered cherry tomatoes, a few leaves, some balsamic dressing and one thin slice of goat's cheese. Ordered the rump steak for my main course, most of my friends did the same and they were served a nice looking, thick piece of steak whilst I got two thin pieces which were tough. Almost £17 for a rump steak with a few new potatoes, £2 for an espresso sized cup of peppercorn sauce.I would probably go back for drinks but not for food.

If it didn't overlook the Main Street in Wrexham then I would never had guessed we were in this town. The bar downstairs is chic and classy yet very relaxed. The cocktails are really nice and they even made us lovely monitors that weren't even on the menu. Have been there a couple of times on a Friday and had a really nice evening with girlie friends. They have an acoustic set or a band most Fridays which adds to the atmosphere. Also visited there for food in the week with my other half. The upstairs restaurant is lovely and a romantic setting. The food - especially the rib eye steak was very nice and cooked just to our liking. Good selection of wines. I would agree with previous reviews that the price is on the high side - but quality and a class venue is worth paying a few extra pounds. Also anyone who attempts to open and run such a quality bar/grill in wrexham deserves local support- Wrexham definitely needs more places like this. Will definitely be returning.

Visited here while staying in town for a couple of days for a show at the Uni. We fancied a steak, and the menu and the surroundings looked good, so this looked just the job. How wrong we were. Our apprehension started just after we'd ordered, when we asked the group of young ladies at the adjacent table what they thought of their food. None of them seemed particularly enthusiastic.I ordered the Sirloin, one of my colleagues ordered the Rib Eye, and the other ordered the Lamb Shank. Mine was served with one mushroom, one half a tomato and a small bowl of chips and was just about acceptable, but certainly not worth the £18.50 they charged for it, especially that it came complete with a rather large chunk of fat attached. The Rib Eye was similar, and at £19.95, again very expensive. This is Wrexham, not London. It really went downhill with my other colleague who chose the Lamb Shank. It was so tough that he couldn't even cut into it. Even with the aid of a steak knife, it just didn't relent, so he gave up and asked them to change it for the chicken, which they eventually did.The thing that eventually drove us out of the place was the music. It was the most monotonous, tuneless dirge I've ever heard in a restaurant, and it eventually drove us out of the place rather than having to endure more of it in order to have a dessert. When I mentioned it to the waitresses, their only comment was they had to listen to it all day, from which I deduced that they thought about as much of it as we did. There are plenty of restaurants in Wrexham. My advice is to steer clear of this one. It looks great, but the food doesn't live up to the surroundings.

Have had a couple of nights out at this bar. The cocktails really are delicious.....tried four of them and enjoyed them all. We enjoyed the live music on a Friday night and would recommend for a night out with friends or as a couple. Love that you can have a meal upstairs or you can order snacks to have downstairs on the sofas....we enjoyed the nachos and olives. The venue is stunning inside, well worth a visit in my opinion.

I visited the wheatsheaf with my family as we was passing and it was around lunch time, well all I can say is the staff members were foul mouthed and rude.
