We loved the grounds and museums, but the tea room was really not at all good. Apart from being a very uninspiring space with not much atmosphere, I waited in a queue for over half an hour while three people behind the counter deliberated over one transaction, as I waited I watched as very quickly most of the menu was struck off, so it was down to sandwiches or a bowl of chilli con carne. I managed to get the last two! There seems to be a complete dumbing down of all the NT restaurants, just serving mediocre food. Come on NT you can and should be doing better!!

The menu is simple (Cornish pasties, soup, chowder, sandwiches etc) but is just right. We were a party of 6 and each found something we liked. The staff are absolutely wonderful and it is clear they really care. My German visitors were really impressed and the staff left them with a great impression of our country. Thank you so much.

This is quite a bog standard NT self-service tearoom - with so many venues moaning about staff shortages, presume it wouldn't be possible to serve people at the table these days. Sitting outside was very pleasant as there were quite a few birds to watch.

Great day out , The house is really interesting, the grounds are beautiful and there are dog friendly places to eat indoors and out, the bird life around the café is beautiful and the food delicious.

We enjoyed a coffee here before walking around the estate. The main tea room was busy, but we found a table next door ok.

If you sit outside on the picnic tables, there will be plenty of chaffinches and robins popping by to pick up the crumbs! Jacket potatoes are generous in both size and fillings - and the home-made coleslaw doesn't have any onion in it, hooray!!

Having toured the grounds and before we went to the carriage museum, we popped in here for lunch. Although simple, the fare looked appetising and at prices you expect for NT restaurants. The carrot and coriander soup was unfortunately very bland, and I noticed several fellow diners were adding liberal doses of salt to theirs. However the cheese and ham panini was delicious so more than compensated for the disappointing starter.

Lunch is advertised as available but I would not call a jacket potato lunch .In reality snacks are available

We enjoyed lattes and flapjack on arrival, the staff were cheerful even though there was a sudden rush of customers. We went back and had soup for lunch which was good with lovely fresh bread - there was seating outside as well as indoors.

Always look for NT property when holidaying in the UK. Not a huge place but enough to pass an afternoon. All calls for tea/coffee and cake and cake was delicious. Lovely sitting in the grounds watching the birds.

From our base in Ilfracombe we decided to visit Arlington, being NT members. Lovely welcome, usual map to guide us round. Enjoyed our walks around both the parkland & the gardens. Never been here before, so very pleased we made the trip, a nice place.

Hot pot or soup to warm you up after a wonderful walk exploring the woods. Choices of cake to tempt you, and all served with a smile, despite the chill outside.

You have the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The range of food on offer is good, and quality is very good. You may have to wait a while for the food to be brought at busy times, but it's worth the wait. The chaffinches will keep you entertained.

We called into these tea rooms for coffee and cake during a visit to Adlington Court. Good coffee, lovely cake (coffee and walnut) and pleasant, helpful staff. Good choice of indoor and outside seating - we chose to sit outside where there were plenty of wild birds in the nearby trees. Lovely place.

We had a lovely visit then tried to buy lunch lucky the day was dry as we had to eat outdoors but the food was good if a little pricey and overall i think they try to provide a median menu with no surprises

Visited on a busy day in the Easter holidays. There is additional seating indoors in a separate area so we used that, it was a bit quieter in there too. Very nice fruit scone and kids enjoyed macaroni cheese.

Even on a beautiful day Arlington Court and grounds not too busy so restaurant refreshingly quick to navigate. Good range of drinks and cake and three different "mains". Only a few seats indoors so on a wet/cold/busier day there may be a crush for seats.

This is a great place for a coffee or something to eat when waiting for a train or shopping in the area. I meet friends here once a month and have never been disappointed. The full vegetarian breakfast is excellent. Don’t go to Costa, come here instead!

Oh my where do I begin! I would avoid this place at all costs! Guy behind the bar was rude not very welcoming at all.. the beer dribbled out the pumps .. coke from a can which was warm no ice.. seating uncomfortable, dust everywhere, we waited 30 mins for our food for it to be overcooked.. and a couple who arrived after us got their food before us.. there was people on another table who didn't finish their food and couldn't leave the pub quick enough either .. says it all ...

Not having oat milk is becoming a regular thing with all Costas now. Also, please and thank you don’t seem to be in the staff vocabulary either. You can smile and tell me to have a good day, but if you don’t say please when asking for money, or thank you when I hand it over, I’m going elsewhere in future!

As Costa’s go this one was clean and had a friendly and quick service. The mocha came in a giant mug and the server carried it over to the table for me as I was carrying a baby. They also provided a disposable cup when I left. Good stop while waiting for a train especially if the cafe at the station is closed. Dog friendly.

Waitress did her job, but a smile wouldn’t have gone a miss, seemed like she didn’t like her job or indeed may not be in the right career of hospitality. A hostess should be warm and welcoming. A can of coke with the glass would have been nice instead of as I witnessed a can shared between two different tables.. the food……. Dirty fries or rather swimming in a puddle of oil fries….. never have I ever seen so much oil I tipped it all out on to plate and napkins soaked it up! Awful will not be again!
