Sunday lunch. Busy but excellent service and helpful staff. Tender meats and good selection of vegetables, fresh and hot. Finished off with yummy desserts. Would certainly return.

We stopped by for a drink and decided to stay for lunch. Great service and friendly staff. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. Would recommend the pie and chicken burger.

Food was cold and took what felt like years to come out, had to eat it anyways as my partner told me not to kick up a fuss, music was too loud and staff highly unfriendly, all walking around with a stern look on their faces, had high hopes but clearly this place was more disappointing than I thought.

Ordered a carvery, chef was insanely rude, talked to me like I only had one brain cell! Meat was tough and potatoes had no flavour whatsoever. Then was told it was table service and I could order drinks from the table. When asking one of the young ladies if we could order more drinks she put us to the side and told us that we’d have to wait as she was wiping down a table currently. Clearly bad customer service skills taught. After finally ordering a drink with a different server it took over 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive and when they finally did we were told we had 15 minutes before the next table would arrive. We were quickly kicked out and not even offered another table to sit at! Me and my husband were deeply disappointed as we had heard from a friend of ours that it was worth the travel, sadly it was not. Maybe a new chef and friendlier staff would give this place a better reputation as the place itself was lovely, shame it’s staff are not the same.

Enjoyed my 10th meal at the Old Farmhouse. The food is consistently very good, the place is characterful and the staff are lovely. It’s a great pleasure to eat there and it’s become my go to local destination for good food and service. Thank you!

I’m afraid my experience was pretty poor. Food average, dessert took ages, and just overall pretty ordinary. I had the gnocchi and it was so creamy and not mushroomy at all and that made it have no flavour at all

We went for a joint 40th birthday meal today for around 60 people. The food all came out on time and very hot. Nobody was waiting for there food. The food was amazing with not one complaint at all. Well done to the chef /chefs and all the staff/ bar staff who waited on us all. They were all amazing.

My first Sunday roast here. Very good but I would have loved it if the roast potatoes looked more roasted and the green beans cooked slightly longer. They were too crunchy for me. Also a lighter dessert option would have been welcomed, other than ice cream.

Lovely pub, never been before but went with the in-laws who go quite regularly and we can see why - hoping to take all the family for a Christmas meal😄

Went here with my 2 kids for lunch. I had a chicken melt with chips, salad and coleslaw. It was very tasty. The coleslaw was really delicious. My boys both had pizza and beans. Friendly staff and nice choice on the menu

Pub is well known for its popular Sunday carvery, and the standard was good as always. However the same cannot be said for my wife's lamb tagine. The menu said it would come with couscous, but was actually served with rice. We were not told of the switch when ordering. Worse, the lamb was very tough. Told the waitress this when she cleared the plates, and also when paying at the bar. Both said they would "let the kitchen know" but no offer of recompense. The choice of low / zero alcohol beer was also disappointing. Offered only lager or Guinness; most pubs nowadays will also have low / zero ale and cider.

Dinner for 2, our first and only time here. First impressions were great to be fair, staff attentive when seating you at the table. First drinks served quickly, dinner was OK, not great, pie and veg looked like a school dinner so 0 out of 10 for presentation. Wine served in a dirty glass. Chicken souvlaki was mediocre, chicken rubbery. We were told it was all table service for both food and drinks, well it took an age to flag down staff to get another drink! Not the way to go if you want to make sales/money. Very slow service. The cost was way expensive for what it was. Pity, expected better.

Old Farmhouse is a lovely pub to eat at. The staff are very friendly and relaxed. Took the order efficiently without being pushy. Service was well done and efficient even though it was busy The food is excellent with good quality honest cooking. Even the kids food is carefully made: the fish fingers were clearly prime pieces of the same fish used for the adult fish and chips battered and cooked with skill, just smaller. There is even a small area for the kids to run around in outside and play in with a pretend car and house

Without a doubt the rudest manager of a pub I have met. We popped in for a drink and were treated poorly. Manager stated that Without a table we could not have a drink. There were many empty tables which did not fill up for the hour we were there. I then witnessed him be verbally rude to other customers. I've been a loyal customer for many years. But do you know what. Not any more. The manager is as total plonker.

This could have been a good eating experience, however, partway through my meal I found there was a crack, along the main part of the plate. I told the staff member who said 'I'll let the kitchen know'. Bacteria can grow in the cracks, and this was not a new crack, so a good chance some were lurking there! I have never experienced this before, not even in a really cheap eating place. At the end of the meal - a main and cup of tea - I mentioned this again, and was told again 'I'll let the kitchen know', took our money, end of. I was so shocked at the attitude, I never thought to take a picture!

I call here for an evening meal and a pint.Beautiful and charming pub.Bar is understaffed with just one person, maybe it's extra busy for a Tuesday, but not that may people here.Excellent menu choice, but....I ordered the honey roasted pork belly, this was close to cremated and dry, top marks for steaming some veg. There was only a short wait from ordering to delivery to my table barely enough time to microwave a meal, which might well have been a better option.

This is a review for the restauraunt/bar, as I didn't stay in a room. I was recommended this place as a good place to stop by and eat. I first used the loos. It looked like the loos weren't regularly checked. There was a used tissue on the floor and I saw another customer look into a cubicle and make a disgusted sound so chose another. It's really odd, the music playing throughout the building is Heart 90s. You'd think there'd be more of an intentional, ambient playlist, with no ads. Also the speaker system is really tinny and a bit intrusive. I went to order at the ordering point. The lady there seemed brusque and annoyed at me from the word go. I ordered my meal and drink. I ordered pepsi max, she didn't offer ice, just poured it into the glass. I asked if the music could be turned down a little bit. I'm Neurodivergent, and often have to make this request at cafes and restaurants. A male staff member in a black shirt said it should be fine. I sat indoors in the glass room at table 24. It looks nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the tinny music doesn't suit the vibe, and a manager with a blue and white short-sleeved shirt was sat in this room making a very loud business call on speakerphone in the restaurant. He could've done that in his office. The guy in the black shirt told me that it would take him ten minutes to turn down the volume, as the speaker system was in the office. I thanked him, and appreciated the attentive update. However, I don't think my request was ultimately followed through, as the volume remained the same. The food arrived and a female server with glasses asked if I wanted anything. She had given me the plate of food but no cutlery. I had to ask for cutlery, which I found unusual. I was eating the chicken burger, but wanted to cut it up. The cutlery didn't come with a napkin either. I had to go downstairs to the loos to wash my hands. I felt weird leaving my things unattended, but didn't want someone to take my table. I was by myself. I think they seem understaffed. There was a friday rush at the bar when I returned, and had to wait ages to be served. They only had two people behind the bar, which then turned to one. I ordered another pepsi, and again was not asked if I wanted ice. Some reviews have mentioned that it's fairly priced. I think they may be talking about the rooms. The food was not fairly priced. Especially for the service, the vibe, the portion size. £20 overall for a chicken burger with chips and a pepsi. The burger was 15.50 and the drink 3.75. The burger itself was nice, chips were good, but the coleslaw was warm. I haven't experienced service this bad in a long time. I won't be recommending it to friends and family.

The chicken massaman was extremely salty, so neither of us enjoyed it and wouldn't order again. The king prawn panang and prawn toast was nice.

Nice place with bar and restaurant. Good views in the restaurant overlooking the sea. Usual tap beers and one real ale available. Bar is very cosy with ship memorabilia and low lighting. It also as a pool table and dartboard and is also dog friendly in the bar area. Staff were friendly and polite. Enjoyed my visit.
