Such uniquely tasty food! Didn’t know what to expect from this place but the food and service was amazing, will be 100% to friends and family!

We have been visiting Old Dresser Cafe regularly in the last 2 years. We always enjoyed the food, service and the atmosphere. Their authentic Polish food comes with a very generous portion. It's always very delicious. Their service is the best! They are always very friendly, warm and sometimes if they are not busy, they also show you their holidays and photos of their beloved cat! It's our favourite restaurant in Birmingham!

We have been regulars at Old Dresser Cafe in the last 2 years. It's definitely a hidden treasure outside of Birmingham city centre! The authentic Polish food is what we love most! Very generous portion and very friendly service! We also love their deco! Very quirky! In short, we loved it every time!

Completely agree with the reviews this place was great. Food was top notch. Our waiter who I think was also the owner was funny and attentive. Definitely worth a visit

Our first visit, with Polish friends, we were all impressed with the quality of the dishes and the service. The menu isn’t huge - and all the better for it, if you want authentic Polish food in Birmingham this is the place to go. We also liked the interior too, eclectic and attractive. Worth trying!

Booked in for 14 people for afternoon tea at short notice! The owner was wonderful to us, doting on us when we needed it but generally giving us space to enjoy the food. Perfect!

We went here with two friends for late breakfast yesterday afternoon. Very friendly o owners and we were quickly shown to our reserved table, given menus and asked if we would like some drinks. Which we did. All our meals took about 20 mnutes to be brought to the table, but we were advised of the wait, but it was well worth the wait! All our meals were delicious - good portions and very well cooked. My husband and I chose the Polish black pudding, with sides of scrambled egg (Polish style), with mushrooms and tomatoes. We were absolutely stuffed! Our friends pronounced their dishes as delicious too - the big Brummie breakfast and Eggs Benedict with quite a few trimmings! Will definitely be going back! Very friendly service, excellent coffee, and we were offered desserts, but none of us could manage anything else. Around £20.00 per head for a lot of food - great value! Will definitely be going back for an evening meal! Thanks for a great brunch!

Our second visit to this wonderful place. Decor is lovely old style - with an incredibly rare HMV gramophone player ! We studied some books with photos of old Bearwood. The owners have gone to a lot of effort to make this feel cozy and homely. Request the window table if it's available. Food was excellent again - we both had fish pate to start, really tasty with home made mayo. For mains we had torpedoes and bigos, cooked to perfection and really tasty and filling. Cheesecake to finish, yum. Enjoyed chatting with the owner who has a wicked sense of humour !! Defo visit this lovely gem of a place

Went in yesterday. We had big brummie breakfast and eggs Benedict. Best we've ever had.

I went there with my Czech friend and we ordered KARTACZE - we loved it! Food is absolutely amazing, nice and quiet place, really nice atmosphere and so kind service! Definitely it will now one of my favourites places. LOVE IT!

We have be going for at least the last 7 years for Christmas Day Lunch. The food is absolutely superb considering it is a single chef, The host is always friendly, Happy to have a chat. My Grandad loved it. They make there own Gin and sometimes Vodka. Nothing is too much for Rich & Rob.

Absolutely outstanding food and service. Nothing is too much trouble and they are so helpful when deciding what to have. Our nan used to make lots of polish food, and the food here was stunning. Everything is made fresh and you can tell it’s made to perfection. Will definitely visit again

Been meaning to come here for a while and when I finally did wooow it didn't disapoint! We popped in for breakfast and have to say one of the best breakfasts I've had in a loong time absolutely fantastic!! The breakfast itself was perfect but the bacon was excellently cooked, hats off to the chef. Plus the service was brilliant and really enjoyed the polish mustard that was offered was delicious and a perfect accompliament for the breakfast. Defantly be coming back think we've found the no 1 place for breakfast in bearwood really impressed!! Thank you sooo much to all the staff love your work!

Delicious Polish food! There are plenty of options for different tastes, a mix of English, Polish and European inspired dishes. My partner had Hunter's Stew and I had Potato Pancakes with Goulash. We shared our mains so we can try both dishes. Both were very flavourful and filling! The potato pancakes are freshly made, and the goulash was nice and rich, my favourite dish.

We were looking for somewhere to have breakfast and this place had really good reviews. I can honestly say that this is the best veggie breakfast and the Mrs said the best meat breakfast we have had in a very long time. It was cooked to perfection and the herbed beans were absolutely stunning. We had polish honey mustard that really added to the experience. The owner is the perfect host and was so attentive and funny. Next time we are in Birmingham this is definitely being visited again.

Excellent breakfast. The most amazing produce cooked to perfection by Rob one of the owners. Lots of choice from light to the very hungry. Spotless, interesting, cosy, quirky environment. After years of planning, my husband and I finally dined at The Old Dresser Cafe. Upon arrival, we were met by a homely atmosphere, similar to our home decor. The homemade Cherry vodka was recommended along with Polish beer. Well, the cherry vodka is to die for, and I would absolutely order this for take out, if it was available. We ordered our food. The Highlanders potato pancake, and vegetarian Polish stew (Bigos).HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST MEALS WE HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE OF EATING. The service was impeccable. The portions were perfect. The meals were incredible. We both enjoyed the humour, friendliness and recommendations. High end food, in a comfortable and beautiful place with incredible service and humour. We will be returning again in two weeks now we finally have free time in our calendar. Absolutely exquisite. If we could give 10 stars, we would. Beautiful! We spent a lovely evening sampling the Polish cuisine, beverages and hospitality. Rich was a fantastic and knowledgeable host. I highly recommend this venue.

Very nice environment with comfortable tables and chairs, music as well. We ordered eggs Benedict and royale and they are really taste well and with good outlook. Will definitely come back again.

Our first visit to this lovely gem, I’ve passed it many times and was actually born a short way down the Bearwood Road. A very warm welcome from the host who has a lovely sense of humour. The decor is very cozy and like sitting in their living room. The food is amazing, mainly Polish but other dishes too. We had the fish pate followed by Highlanders potato pancakes which was simply amazing, great flavours. Finished with choc cake with another twist. Lovely ambience with nice music. An all round authentic great experience, will definitely be back !!

Little gem of a restaurant. Run by Richard and Rob, both from Poland. Richard gives fantastic repartee in his front of house service, making you feel completely at home from your first visit and Rob cooks divinely. Expect a limited menu and a wait for your meal but that's only because everything is cooked fresh from scratch. Your tummy will never forgive you if you don't try this restaurant

So close to my workplace when for a quick coffee fix with hubby and we ended up ordering their special coffee and we were catch by the deco and how cool it looks. Defo we will come back to try their food. Captivating and relax little spot 💙

One if not the best Polish Restaurant in Birmingham!! Rich and Rob give the best and attentive service around not to mention the food which caters for every taste and is all authentic and freshly cooked. Oh forgot to mention the decor has that 40s/50s feel which makes it very pleasant.

Good find for a local breakfast spot. The food was very tasty, black coffee was strong and served in good china. The service was top notch and the price was reasonable for what we ordered. £34.50 for 2 people. 2 entrees and 3 cups of coffee.

Immaculately clean with extremely polite, friendly service. Food was beautifully cooked. First and possibly last experience of Polish sausage stew but with very tasty fermented cabbage. Still cleared my plate. I am sure it was expertly prepared and cooked to the authentic recipe. Very much enjoyed the experience. Thank you

What a great random find this cafe was! Just out for breakfast and we decided to visit here. The gentle man who was very helpful worked around my vegetarian diet and the food that came was tasty. Service was prompt and food tasted fresh. Great place to come and eat. Enjoy.

My son was playing football in Smethwick so during is 45 min warm up I put "nearest cafe" in my sat nav and ended up having the best full English (trust me I've had a few) I've had for a long time. Every part of it was perfect, The sausages were amazing, don't know what they did to the mushrooms but they were really tasty and you've gotta try the black pudding. Only criticism I have is... 1) the guy wouldn't tell us where to get their sausages. 2) my partner drinking prosseco at 10 in the morning is only gonna end in tears. Haha. Definitely going back and definitely recommend this place to anyone

If you are in two minds about where to eat in Bearwood try The Old Dresser Cafe. It really is our favourite place to eat in the UK! Today, myself, my husband and daughter went for breakfast. I had the eggs benedict which is my usual and both my husband and daughter had the new breakfast stack which is a stack including mushrooms, tomato, beans, egg, bacon, sausage, hash browns all stacked between 2 crumpets. Delicious! The ambience is that of a relative's house you always feel you don't see enough of. The hosts are warm, gracious and funny without trying. Fantastic!😃

We found this hidden gem and we was really impressed. I would have to go as far to say it’s the best breakfast I have had in Bearwood. I finished my whole plate and everything was cooked to perfection. You can tell the ingredients used are not cheap and were very high quality. The man serving us was really funny and did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend this place for food. It’s not very big but it’s an interesting little place.

Had an excellent Sunday brunch here, with the restaurant accommodating our big group size. The Big English breakfast is just what I needed, the smoked sausage & mushrooms were insanely delicious. Front of house was lovely & hilarious, thank you for having us will definitely be back for Pierogi night!

First visit to this lovely little tea room style cafe on a Sat morning on the edge of Bearwood. We booked a table on line the night before. It was very quiet when we ate (suited us). It seats I think about 16. Polish cooking and English. Lovely hosts, friendly & personable. Made us feel very welcome. We will return to sample some other dishes and have a drink here as it licensed. Decor is quaint & quirky and feels relaxing. Nice coffee & tea. A nice little find.

What a neighbourhood treasure! We went with a Polish colleague and enjoyed the most scrumptious, authentic dinner served in such pretty crockery. We especially loved the incredible flavours from the Hunter's Stew (Bigos) and the texture of the Meat and Potato Dumplings (Zeppelins). The owner has a great sense of humour and the cosy restaurant feels homely and comfortable. No wonder it's so highly rated on TripAdvisor. It's a bit far from the City Centre but well worth the effort.

Our dearest daughter has just taken us here for a birthday dinner for her dad. It is ABSOLUTELY lovely, a charming little gem of a Polish cafe/restaurant/bar on Bearwood Road, about a mile past Harborne. I had tempura king prawn for starters and they were DELICIOUS, really fresh and crispy outside with a soft and juicy inside, followed by potato ball zepellin thingys stuffed with meat and served with crispy bacon and sauerkraut, gorgeous. Pa had a lamb shank and mash and the gravy was OUT OF THIS WORLD. For dessert we had cheese and biscuits served with blue cheese coated nuts and honeycomb. Tony had plum brandy. Honestly the nicest meal I have had in ages and ages but more than that, the ambience, it feels like home and the decor - just lovely. Take a look!

Went to quirky cafe/restaurant this morning for a great breakfast, tasty veggie sausage with usual breakfast accompaniments and an excellent flat white. No need for tomato sauce, it was so tasty. You could walk past it, as it just looks like an ordinary terraced house, which is the point. You feel like you're sitting in someone's living room. Decor is full of interesting objects to look at whilst you wait for your freshly cooked meal! The food is served with a dry sense of humour.

Fantastic breakfast cooked exactly how we wanted. The staff are fantastic and super friendly. P.S. their poppy seed cake is delicious

Went for a full English breakfast and it was really tasty. Good quality ingredients, definitely a step above your usually English Breakfasts. Staff were friendly and the style of the building was nice.

Really nice place, warm and friendly atmosphere, love the decor, beautiful food and cocktails. I had the vegan brekkie and my gf had the animals one and they were both perfect. The drinks were works of art. We learnt the secret recipes of their special (and complimentary omg) vodkas but we're never telling. You should go there.

We had a really excellent meal here. From the outside, it's easily missed, but the inside is not easily forgotten! The aesthetic is best described as 'Granny eclectic with a twist" There's floral wallpaper, beaded lamps, dried flower arrangements in glass bubble frames and mismatched floral plates... And then bright coloured chairs, modern art on the walls and lighting features made from bowler hats... The food is really good. We shared 3 mains between us (no kids menu) which were Seafood Spaghetti, Polish Bean & Sausage Stew, and Not Fish and Chips (breaded halloumi and potato wedges). All were delicious. The kids preferred the halloumi and chips (of course) but the stew and the pasta were really the winners, full of flavour, and great portions. Then came the puddings! A flaming ball of ice cream, which had the kids in raptures, (no photo, sorry, I was videoing) Polish layer cake and warm apple cake with ice cream. Again, really, really good. The ice cream obviously wins for pure theatre, but it was the best Polish layer cake we've ever had, (often they're a bit dry and flavourless, this was neither) and the apple cake was really nicely spiced, not too sweet and went beautifully with the salted caramel ice cream. The bill for 3 mains, 3 puddings and soft drinks came to £66, and we left happy.

I've driven past the Old Dresser Cafe every night for about 4 years, and always been intrigued - but finally made the plunge to visit this week. I honestly don't know why I waited so long - the food was perfect, the owners are great, and the décor is eclectic! I had zeppelins for the main - which is a dish I've always wanted to try, and it really didn't let me down, it was so tasty I was tempted to go back for more the next day. Wholeheartedly recommend this place, and will definitely be going back soon.

This eclectic cafe offers breakfast, brunch, lunch,afternoon teas and supper with a fantastic menu offering home made food, jams, cakes and a very good range of alcohol. Good potions are very substantial and I have to say the eggs benedict (eggs benny ) on homemade soda bread are on another level .

We visited the Old Dresser Cafe for breakfast yesterday. It was my first visit but my friend is a frequent visitor. We received a warm welcome and everything that we were served was absolutely perfect! Could have stayed all day. I hope to return very soon and sample more from the menu. Can't recommend highly enough.

Pleasantly surprised with this charming cafe. What it lacks in the basic menu it makes up for in charm and friendly staff. The food was good but nothing spectacular, really enjoyed the tea, the coffee was OK but nothing to rave about. Would definitely come back. Oh, and it's cheap.
