Great atmosphere, food, and drinks. Second time here, and I will definitely go back when in Soho.

I went for their noon-5pm special €6.50 aperol spritz’s, got fries, an old fashion because it was a cool little smoke shoe and a toffee pudding

I was not disappointed here at all! The servers were impeccable. Smart, sophisticated, and above all, having fun. It was a pleasure to be in their company. Now the food... Jesus christ, the food is DELICIOUS! Whatever you try, your taste buds will be humming with joy. I left my bag behind (a few wines in 😆), and when I went back to get it, the staff were so helpful. I think the greeters name was Katia or Kasia... she was delightful! Thank you all for a wonderful evening.

The RUDEST experience of my life. Waiter got the deals of the menu wrong and didn’t tell us, questioned the bill and another waitress shrugged her shoulders. Eventually offered a drink on the house for the mix up and then the manager tried to charge us for the drink “on the house”. Ridiculous, avoid at all costs.

This place completely blew my mind! I’ve always thought of pub food as standard, but the grilled king prawns here were on another level. Highly recommend Old Compton for anyone looking to elevate their pub food experience. Coming back very soon for a round two!!! 🏃🏼‍♀️❤️

Great atmosphere, excellent staff and such a lovely meal. We had the 3 course menu which included a glass of Prosecco for £32 - amazing value for money. All three courses were superb and everyone from bar staff to waiters/waitresses couldn’t do enough to provide a memorable night out - thank you

Great place to eat. Staff friendly and helpful. Great choice of menu… I had the salmon salad and it was brilliant, so tasty and cooked perfectly. My partner had the duck and that was so tasty too. Great atmosphere. Not as busy as usual… it is popular! Yet another visit! Been here a few times to celebrate occasions with my partner. In November we came to celebrate our marriage this time it was my birthday. A brilliant dinner. We had the fish scotch egg - kedgeree! It was fantastic, so tasty. Then we had the pork belly… well worth it. The staff as always were helpful and friendly. A great place to dine!

Very disappointed with my meal at this restaurant. Average food, uninteresting beer and above all, more than disappointing service. The waitress spent her evening partying with her friends next door and the few times I showed up, I felt like I was bothering her. It was one of these friends (not an employee) who cashed me in to tell you. Fish n chips more than average. Yes the place is pretty, good for Instagram not for reality

Had a great time Saturday evening 11th Jan, a late birthday pressy for my sister- mj the musical and some food beforehand. I chose the Old Compton Brasserie, from a combination of reviews and vicinity to the theatre. We had booked way in advance and confirmed via a text 24 hours beforehand. Fantastic bustling atmosphere. We were a little crammed in upstairs up against a wall. I was a little disappointed with that as we had booked months in advance and even though we arrived early I could see and hear people blagging the door staff for tables as they arrived.(not booked) and getting great spots downstairs- it was super busy. Food and service was great. We enjoyed our food and had a great time. I would still book ahead again but think I’d be a bit more forthright in a spot choice. Would recommend especially if going to a show.

Food and service (by a couple of the staff) were good, but we were told that our reservation was for 2 hours 4 times by 2 different people! Two of our friends were running late because of train delays so they kept coming to the table to remind us of the 2 hour reservation, even told us to send photo of the menu to the friends who were running late (which we had already done). When we still had 20 min left we tried to order a mojito and desserts and they said that we wouldn’t have time for it. Definitely not going back.

Went for bottomless Aperol Spritz. Our time ran out, but they still bought us two jugs of Aperol. Perfect. Go here for bottomless brunch. £25 per person. Great.

I was early on a pick up busting for a pee I asked to use their facilities and with no hesitation said yes I even said I would buy a drink or give a tip but they refused said it was ok the atmospher will take my family there what lovely staff

Amazing vibes - upbeat and busy (definitely book a table to make sure you get one!). We ordered half chicken (10/10), sea bream (8/10), cauliflower (9/10), buttermilk burger (7/10) Caesar salad (7/10). The desserts were great too (8.5/10). Allergies: one of our table has severe peanut and nut allergies and carries two EpiPens. The server we had didn’t seem to take much notice of this - and he recommended all desserts were safe to eat despite the banana split having almond brittle. The menu does not include the usual allergen information . So just take notice of this if you also have allergies! Overall great!

The staff were very friendly and the service was great. Very nice venue with a great atmosphere although the music was a little too loud. The food was very good and I thought it was great value.

This was the best Fish and chips I’ve ever had, and believe me I’ve had a few!! Went at the interval for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Ignore previous reviews about poor slow service! The service was brilliant. Seated and served promptly but not rushed. Very welcoming and attentive staff. The atmosphere was not loud as previous reviews have said. It was very relaxed. The restaurant is very clean and modern but not pretentious. The restaurant is in the heart of Soho so expect to pay? …….. not at all very reasonably priced. Overall thoroughly enjoyed the meal and venue.

Great bar, professional service and superb cocktails.

Staff were friendly, but service was very slow. We were seated upstairs so couldn’t get hold of staff when I needed a steak knife. You could tell they were stretched because most of them were literally running around. The music/atmosphere was way too loud and extremely hot, I couldn’t make much conversation. The food was very good; I like the scotch egg starter and I had a steak. The steak was a little chewy. Churros were great. I would recommend coming here on a quieter evening.

I came here for a meal with friends. Food was very very good however the service was hit and miss. The host did not look us in the eye and also made us wait in queue although a member of our party was already there. Some of the servers were very attentive and thoughtful, where some others took out plates before we even managed to finish eating. It was a Friday night and just before Christmas so I can understand that things were busy but my table ended up feeling like we were bothering staff and we felt rushed.

The staff was very friendly. I like the style of the restaurant itself. The drinks are also fabulous and delicious. I can recommend the non alcholic drinks. The food came fast and it tasted delicious. I can only recommend the place. For Vegetarians, there are also a few options. I recommend reserving a table because the restaurant is in a popular part of London and fills up quickly. Specially on Fridays and Saturdays.

Nice place, but be warned that bottomless magheritas and nachos is actually bottomless drinks with a one plate of crisps to share with the table. Almost fell of my chair when I realised I’d waited till 9:30pm for dinner only to share half a bag of nacho chips between four of us. At the very least, usually establishments will give each person a plate of food. I don’t hate it, I just wish the advertising was less deceiving

The best festive restaurant in London! This is where we celebrated the New Year and the evening was great, with lots of atmosphere! Extravaganzaaa evening 🤪 Thank you to the servers for their responsiveness and kindness ❤️ We will come back with pleasure!!

Strange to see such high ratings for this place. Food is below average considering the price. Margarita cocktails are horrible sweet drinks without any reason named as cocktail. Loud music that makes any conversation a struggle. Maybe I've been in the wrong time or day?

This restaurant / bar offers a nice atmosphere (especially during Christmas season), it might be a little too loud & stressful for some people though. Other than that, the food and drinks are amazing. I would recommend the lychee margarita.

The margarita deal is only from 9:30-10:30pm. It is not mentioned explicitly anywhere. The menu says “from 9:30” but if you come any later the kitchen is closed… I feel scammed. The cocktails we also ordered despite this were either overly sweet or flavourless.

The 1h unlimited margarita deal starts at 9:30pm but the deal stops at 10:30pm. They fail to mention the end time anywhere on their website. Ridiculous to use this scam to try to get people into your establishment!

This was my first time here, and I'm booking again in December when I'm nearby! From arrival to departure, service was brilliant. The food was outstanding! I can't recommend enough. 2nd visit on 21/12 2024 and the service, atmosphere and food were amazing - second to none. My sister and I had been to see a show and could've chosen somewhere nearer, but there was only one place we wanted to go! Highly recommend!!

Had our Christmas meal here last week. Really great atmosphere, we loved the food and drinks and everyone in the group was very happy. Reason for the 4 star service was as we entered, we have our name to the hostess, she said something and headed into the restaurant and we all followed, only for her to turn to us and tell us to go back to the entrance. Without her telling us it seems our table wasn’t ready and she left out group standing at the front door for over 10 mins. As the hostess, communication is key no matter how busy you think you are and might be worth remembering that we’re not mind readers in future. Other than that, we had a great time.

We booked for the bottomless margaritas with nachos. We had arrived and taken our seats at the table, where we then told the waiter we had booked for the bottomless drinks and nachos. Only when we came to order did the waiter tell us they had ran out of nachos and they were offering fries instead. Now, on their website they encourage booking for this bundle, which starts at 9:30pm. Imagine booking for 30 minutes after this offer is active and being told they had sold out at 9pm (the times don’t add up). Manager had said to us “it’s no different to reserving a roast on a Sunday and not being able to get roast potatoes because it’s busy”. Clearly the manager had 3 brains cells, 2 of which functioning as his eyes because that’s not how reservations work. If you pledge an offer for specific time frames that encourage booking, you would at least ensure you had the stock to manage that - especially considering it’s an advertised offer. Now, I appreciate things happen, especially unexpected influx, but to not acknowledge this and offer something of lesser value (they said we could have chips) I find is poor customer service. If they had said “we’ve made a bit of an oversight here, our bad” different story. But to make out that we were silly for not anticipating this after travelling to London and booking a late reservation is ignorant. Especially when the late reservation is in line with their advertised slots, and meant it was harder for us to find another place to eat. Absolutely ridiculous.

What a great place we discovered in London, matinee was booked for the ballet, lunch was tasty, hot and service was brilliant, we were fitted in to return after the performance for a cocktail 🍸 and change of staff but great service continued, we were looked after by Lucas. Well done to kitchen, bar and front of house. Happy New year to everyone.

We booked over a month in advance for Christmas dinner and ordered off the Christmas menu. The atmosphere was beautiful. The set menu had good options. I recommend the tempura prawns. The lamb was juicy and tender. The sticky toffee pudding was sweet and to die for. The cocktails were cool around £13-15. The bill came to £82 which was pretty hefty. The staff were lovely.

My fav bar in London. Delicious food, everything is tasty and fresh. Cocktails are dreamy, very strong and always made with love. Margaritas are always on point! Beautiful setting, always well decorated and seasonal, making every visit special. Staff are SO lovely and the place has a real vibe, it’s hard to describe but just feels like magic! ✨

We were rudely denied entrance as two ✨gay men✨ while about literally 15 people exited the venue right in front of us. Too bad, they would’ve earned a fortune on us alcoholics 🤷🏼‍♂️

Firstly, the service was very good. A very noisy place and I couldn't hear much of my friends conversation unless I was next to them, there were 10 of us. Food, not good. Prawn shells in my starter and lamb was so tough, impossible to eat. Won't go back again, pricey too.

Came here for my best friends leaving drinks before she travels to Australia. We arrived at OCB a few minutes late due to travelling far. Our table wasn't ready. We were seated in a tiny cramped window corner. Our table was still sticky despite being wiped still. We had no cutlery on our table nor any menus. Our server Lucas L looked after us for our visit. He was pleasant however I found him to be very touchy feely with me and kept touching my back. The first time he did it l let it slide as it can come across friendly but he did it multiple times. I noticed it with other tables aswell. I myself work in hospitality as a Restaurant manager and I believe it to be unprofessional to be touching guests at anytime during their meal. Invading o guests personal space shouldn’t happen. Simple! We opted for the cocktail jug bottomless option but this wasn't explained fully how it worked and made us feel stupid when we asked about it. He made a remark mentioning "people get destroyed" when they have this option. But we just wanted to drink at our own pace and not at the pace of someone else. The food was pleasantly presented and tasted good. Freshly made, however I found my steak to very tough despite it being medium rare. The steak knife was blunt no check back was made. Again plied with more alcohol. We had about 30 minutes left on our bottomless cocktails. I felt really uncomfortable with the touching and the plying of alcohol, we cancelled our 4th jug. We asked for the bill. It arrived with a 12.5% service charge on it and the only reason we kept it on was we knew it'd go to the whole team, plus it's the Festive period and hospitality is already pushed to its limits If I wasn't working in hospitality l'd have removed it for the above reasons. I will not be returning back anytime soon.

I booked for 22 friends and family for a pre matinée lunch. It was Christmas so we had to choose the set menu at £49.50/head for 3 courses. It was absolutely fabulous. The food was great, the service was really good given how busy it was and the atmosphere was buzzing. Not a single complaint from any of the 22 of us - thoroughly enjoyable - well done Old Compton Brasserie.

My friends and I had a table of 4 booked for 1:30 on 7th Dec. Two of us arrived a bit early around 1:20 and because the weather was awful, we asked if we could sit at the bar. The hostess said that there was no room at the bar but she could seat us at our table. We were more than happy with that. Our other friend arrived 10 minutes later at which time it was 1:30 (the time of our booking). We had to ask for the Christmas menu to which our server quite rudely said “have you booked?” We replied with yes but they still had to go check. When he came back he had 4 menus and asked when our other friend was arriving because the meal takes “a while” and that they needed the table back for 3pm (email confirmation said we got the table for 2 hours). The server even made a point to show us the tablet which has bookings on there to prove that they were busy. We didn’t appreciate the feeling of being rushed considering it was only 1:30. Our friend arrived about 10 mins later and he sort of pounced on us as soon as she sat down to get our orders. We had our food which was great and we were on dessert by 2:30. We then paid the bill around 3pm and sat to finish our drinks. We were then told at 3:10 we had to leave because they needed the table back. We kindly pointed out that our booking was at 1:30 and it’s 2 hours. According to this server our timer starts as soon as you sit at the table. At no point were we told by the hostess or server that this was the policy . We only sat down early because there was no room at the bar. We were completely rushed throughout the whole meal. We understand that it’s Christmas and it’s busy however we don’t appreciate our server being brash and when we try and question the service, we are met with quite a rude reception. Not exactly worth the £30 service charge we had to pay. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back here.

Dont go here on a Saturday night if you want to have a nice dinner. Drunk people arguing loudly and music louder than most London nightclubs. What seemed like a nice Christmas restaurant was anything but that. Left before we ordered since it was impossible to even speak to each other.

We went to this restaurant when it first opened but went back last night and what a fantastic evening we had a great time food was fantastic the atmosphere was fantastic and there was a few birthdays where all the staff gave round the tables and wish the guest happy birthday but I would like to give it a big shout out to the staff and the chef but special mentioned to Franco who was looking after us very good guy great service would fully recommend this restaurant and definitely be back again Didi Dec Daren Ken

We changed plans and needed a place to eat lunch within walking distance of Leicester Square. We found Old Compton Brasserie and would recommend it. The staff was nice and friendly – though not always attentive – and the food was good. It was a nice unscheduled stop.

AVOID. Bill was £23.06. Was paying 30 pound cash and was told they have no change. So I said okay and took out 3 pound cash. He said do you not have 10p, I said take the 6 pence out of your tip and he rolled his eyes and walked off is disgust. Obviously he thinks pouring 2 glasses of wine deserves more than £2.50 tip. Service was terrible anyways, I should have removed the tip

We had a fantastic experience at Old Compton Brasserie today. Our time was limited as we had just 1h interval before going back to theatre. Nevertheless, service was attentive, prompt; our waiter was so pleasant and kind. Food was delicious. I had vegan burger and it was full of flavour, fries were fresh and crispy. It was my partner's Birthday that I mentioned during online booking, they brought a large plate with chocolate cake and icecream, with a candle. Honestly I couldn't fault a thing.

The tomahawk steak deal is really good! Get that- and I would avoid other things on the menu. We came back to try the smashburger and fish and chips- which were bland, yet high quality. The place is jam packed on Fridays and weekends- and so their servers are overworked. Given the crowd of people it takes them awhile to get to you- not their fault. It was strange that we got our fish and chips quicker than it took for a server to get to our table. The restaurant is nice looking inside- but what makes the atmosphere 1 star is the fact that there is a DJ blasting loud music. Strange because there’s no dance floor and tons of people are just eating and talking. I’m not old at all but damn, this was kind of annoying.

Great food at a good price for central London.

Myself and my husband had pork belly, not much pork on it mostly fat, wasn’t very impressed definitely won’t be going back there.

Very welcoming place. Good but not great food. The sirloin steak was well cooked but the cut of the meat wasn't that great. Very good miso cabbage. The others weighed royal eggs and seemed satisfied.

Had the loveliest meal here for my birthday. The food and cocktails were delicious and the service was fantastic. We all really enjoyed our evening and would recommend to everyone.

Visited for a casual lunch. Their fish finger burger with fries was excellent. Plus a beer! Great value lunch. Recommended.

The food didn’t really taste like anything if I’m honest. It was £78 for a burger , salmon and two beers.(Including tip.) Also the fact I was sitting practically on the other tables knee didn’t help either. It’s a visually appealing place, not comfortable and 100% wouldn’t recommend the food.
