Great coffee! Great food! Loved this place.

A lovely place to have dinner. We were seated immediately and service was fast. The food was nice and hot. The steak was a bit dry but that’s ok. It was still quite tasty. Will I be back? Yes.

A Disappointing Experience at Old Compton Street Brasserie but the hostess from Albania was outstanding!!!! Our recent visit to Old Compton Street Brasserie left much to be desired and unfortunately resulted in a rather unpleasant dining experience. From menu inaccuracies to subpar food quality and questionable attention to detail, it's difficult to recommend this establishment based on our encounter. The lunch started poorly when I attempted to order a drink that was still listed on the menu, only to be informed by the server that it had been "off the menu for a long while." This lack of menu maintenance is a basic oversight that immediately set a negative tone. Unfortunately, the food did little to improve things. My partner's onion bhajis were described as "tasteless" and the "worst thing he has eaten in a long time." This is a strong indictment and suggests a significant issue with the preparation or ingredients of this particular dish. My own experience was equally frustrating. I ordered a chicken club sandwich which, upon arrival, seemed suspiciously lacking in its namesake ingredient. When I pointed this out, I was assured that there was indeed chicken inside. However, upon closer inspection, and after opening the sandwich, I discovered only minuscule, almost imperceptible pieces of chicken mixed within the mayonnaise. These fragments were so tiny that one would hardly be aware of consuming any chicken at all. Having to send a supposedly "chicken" club sandwich back due to a near-complete absence of chicken is simply unacceptable. The combination of an outdated menu and poorly executed dishes suggests a lack of attention to detail and quality control within the kitchen and front-of-house operations. Overall, our visit to Old Compton Street Brasserie was marred by inaccuracies, poor food quality, and a clear disconnect between what was advertised and what was served. We left feeling thoroughly disappointed and would hesitate to return or recommend this brasserie based on this experience. On the plus side the hostess from Albania was an absolute pleasure, so friendly and polite, was very understanding and helpful, she is a huge asset to the team.

We would always come back - it was a lovely evening! The service was really amazing and very caring! Food was great, we really enjoyed dinner there.

Tonight was quite disappointing i normally have a very good experience but somehow tonight was not to the standard I expected The salmon with crushed potato and warm tartare sauce is a letdown, over cooked and dry and a very under seasoned dish all together Onion and potatoes bhajis nothing to be impressed by Good service and friendly team as usual

The food was quite nice but our gripe was … the service. Twice the waiting staff tried to give us someone else’s starters and meals. But the worst thing was being charged for their starters. Unusually my husband checked the bill and noticed that we had been overcharged. They took the bill away to correct and I checked it… this time they had overcharged us £18 for a main we didn’t have. I find this very disconcerting and very unprofessional. I won’t rush back.

I love this place. I'm a frequent customer. The atmosphere, food, and service are all top-notch. The cocktails are my favorite. The desserts are an orgasm. I love how they melt in my mouth. I recommend it 100%.

Nos topamos con este lugar antes de dirigirnos a un restaurante donde teníamos una reserva. Llevo muchos años viniendo al soho. Pero encontramos esta joya accidentalmente y terminamos yendo aquí cuatro veces con diferentes amigos. El personal aquí es el mejor con actitud cero y absolutamente Honestos y divertidos chicos amantes. Es una visita obligada para cualquier persona en la zona. Ven los viernes sobre las once y lo verás en su apogeo.

Had a lovely pre theatre dinner here in a group of 6. Had the fixed menu which was great. Fairly busy noisy place for early dinner but not overly so, was able to have conversation at the table. All good. Only trouble I had was failing to work out how to use the water taps in the ladies loos!

The manager Kasia and the team of waitress were absolutely fantastic, provided a great service and the food was nice. They took care of our friend with a gluten free allergy too! The music was fun and we enjoyed our evening here. Drinks were served quickly and were delightful.

We were part of a group. Sat at far end of restaurant. They were busy. The food was excellent, but the letdown was it was very stuffy where we were sat, and when the music went on, it was very bassy, and that was a factor in not stopping any longer. Table arrangement meant some of us were hemmed in, and it felt claustrophobic at times. Can't knock the food, though!,

Dreadful service 999746938 Been before with a friend group & really enjoyed it . So much so I recommended to another friend for a pre-theatre brunch. We arrived ten minutes late due to a journey mix up. Apologised immediately upon arrival with explanation. Was just greeted by a surly…”I’ll need the table back at 13.15”. We were then led to genuinely the worst table in the room. Eventually our orders were taken. My friend ordered an entree and a cocktail and was replied to with a loud “ what no main course !!”. My friend said afterwards she felt embarrassed as the table next door clearly heard the attitude We were treated rudely, abruptly and I wish we hadn’t bothered. Good this time around was “meh” We won’t be back if that is how you treat customers who are ten minutes late and apologetic. We will go to Balans next door from now on. No one needs a side of snarkiness with their brunch

This is a really great place to eat. You need to book as it is very busy. Service was great, big thanks to Robert upstairs for making a great meal even better.

We popped in here between theatre shows, it was super busy but the food still came out in good time, we had the friendliest waiters and the food was all really lovely, we had a good mix in our group with lamb shank, protein bowl, burger and a couple of starters. I would definitely come back!

The food was lovely, but my mum and I were disappointed with the vibe of the place, which is more 'club' than brasserie. The thumping music was so loud, we couldn't talk. Such a shame, as we'd expected a quieter, restaurant ambience.

Great restaurant. We were a group of 4 and there was a snafu with our booking, but the staff handled it extremely well and made sure we were well looked after. The food is very good and reasonably priced (especially for the area). And best of all they’re dog friendly.

Such a quirky and quaint gem in the heart of Soho! The menu is perfect if you are looking for a combination of traditional British favs with a high end feel. Cocktails really fun too named after some of Sohos legends! The scotch eggs are to die for!

The food was good BUT shortly after finishing dinner they brought us the check (we didn't ask for it), asked us to leave the table with our drinks so they could sit other guests on the table. They showed us the place we could go to the bar... we didn't even get seats...We just didn't feel welcomed at this point. As an "apology" they brought us two glasses of prosecco and that's it. They just wanted us to leave asap

So good I had to write a review! I booked in for a party of 3 on a Tuesday evening for the set menu. Service was well above average, attentive but not overbearing. All the food was lovely and meals arrived prompt but not hurried. All food was pipping hot and as requested, steaks were 11/10. A large party got seated next to us (not a bid deal) the waiter asked if we would like to move to a window seat where it was a little quieter. The attention to detail and offer to move us was above and beyond what we expected. My second visit here and honestly cannot fault it. Worth every penny. Thanks very much!

Quite a surprise at this restaurant which at first glance for French tourists is not the most welcoming, surely our imperfect English which has more than a waiter. But the rest of the meal was sensational! It's quite simply the best restaurant we were able to visit during our week in London. Firstly, the atmosphere is just incredible and typically English, we are far from the tourist trap restaurants. Then, the food is divine for a ridiculous price. All this made us forget the somewhat special server.

Very nice brasserie in a nice corner of the city, very good fish and chips with a very crispy breading of the fries and the fish very soft inside, however a little disappointed with the fries; but I still recommend going for a look and forming your own opinion!

We visited this Brasserie while on a short break to London, this is in the heart of Soho on Old Compton Street nicely located , food was tasty and light service was great We did encounter a work group that came in and sat behind us and for the most part shouted over the music that was playing .

I was not disappointed here at all! The servers were impeccable. Smart, sophisticated, and above all, having fun. It was a pleasure to be in their company. Now the food... Jesus christ, the food is DELICIOUS! Whatever you try, your taste buds will be humming with joy. I left my bag behind (a few wines in 😆), and when I went back to get it, the staff were so helpful. I think the greeters name was Katia or Kasia... she was delightful! Thank you all for a wonderful evening.

The RUDEST experience of my life. Waiter got the deals of the menu wrong and didn’t tell us, questioned the bill and another waitress shrugged her shoulders. Eventually offered a drink on the house for the mix up and then the manager tried to charge us for the drink “on the house”. Ridiculous, avoid at all costs.

Great atmosphere, excellent staff and such a lovely meal. We had the 3 course menu which included a glass of Prosecco for £32 - amazing value for money. All three courses were superb and everyone from bar staff to waiters/waitresses couldn’t do enough to provide a memorable night out - thank you

Great place to eat. Staff friendly and helpful. Great choice of menu… I had the salmon salad and it was brilliant, so tasty and cooked perfectly. My partner had the duck and that was so tasty too. Great atmosphere. Not as busy as usual… it is popular! Yet another visit! Been here a few times to celebrate occasions with my partner. In November we came to celebrate our marriage this time it was my birthday. A brilliant dinner. We had the fish scotch egg - kedgeree! It was fantastic, so tasty. Then we had the pork belly… well worth it. The staff as always were helpful and friendly. A great place to dine!

Very disappointed with my meal at this restaurant. Average food, uninteresting beer and above all, more than disappointing service. The waitress spent her evening partying with her friends next door and the few times I showed up, I felt like I was bothering her. It was one of these friends (not an employee) who cashed me in to tell you. Fish n chips more than average. Yes the place is pretty, good for Instagram not for reality

Had a great time Saturday evening 11th Jan, a late birthday pressy for my sister- mj the musical and some food beforehand. I chose the Old Compton Brasserie, from a combination of reviews and vicinity to the theatre. We had booked way in advance and confirmed via a text 24 hours beforehand. Fantastic bustling atmosphere. We were a little crammed in upstairs up against a wall. I was a little disappointed with that as we had booked months in advance and even though we arrived early I could see and hear people blagging the door staff for tables as they arrived.(not booked) and getting great spots downstairs- it was super busy. Food and service was great. We enjoyed our food and had a great time. I would still book ahead again but think I’d be a bit more forthright in a spot choice. Would recommend especially if going to a show.

Food and service (by a couple of the staff) were good, but we were told that our reservation was for 2 hours 4 times by 2 different people! Two of our friends were running late because of train delays so they kept coming to the table to remind us of the 2 hour reservation, even told us to send photo of the menu to the friends who were running late (which we had already done). When we still had 20 min left we tried to order a mojito and desserts and they said that we wouldn’t have time for it. Definitely not going back.

I was early on a pick up busting for a pee I asked to use their facilities and with no hesitation said yes I even said I would buy a drink or give a tip but they refused said it was ok the atmospher will take my family there what lovely staff

Went for bottomless Aperol Spritz. Our time ran out, but they still bought us two jugs of Aperol. Perfect. Go here for bottomless brunch. £25 per person. Great.

Amazing vibes - upbeat and busy (definitely book a table to make sure you get one!). We ordered half chicken (10/10), sea bream (8/10), cauliflower (9/10), buttermilk burger (7/10) Caesar salad (7/10). The desserts were great too (8.5/10). Allergies: one of our table has severe peanut and nut allergies and carries two EpiPens. The server we had didn’t seem to take much notice of this - and he recommended all desserts were safe to eat despite the banana split having almond brittle. The menu does not include the usual allergen information . So just take notice of this if you also have allergies! Overall great!

This was the best Fish and chips I’ve ever had, and believe me I’ve had a few!! Went at the interval for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Ignore previous reviews about poor slow service! The service was brilliant. Seated and served promptly but not rushed. Very welcoming and attentive staff. The atmosphere was not loud as previous reviews have said. It was very relaxed. The restaurant is very clean and modern but not pretentious. The restaurant is in the heart of Soho so expect to pay? …….. not at all very reasonably priced. Overall thoroughly enjoyed the meal and venue.

Great bar, professional service and superb cocktails.

Staff were friendly, but service was very slow. We were seated upstairs so couldn’t get hold of staff when I needed a steak knife. You could tell they were stretched because most of them were literally running around. The music/atmosphere was way too loud and extremely hot, I couldn’t make much conversation. The food was very good; I like the scotch egg starter and I had a steak. The steak was a little chewy. Churros were great. I would recommend coming here on a quieter evening.

I came here for a meal with friends. Food was very very good however the service was hit and miss. The host did not look us in the eye and also made us wait in queue although a member of our party was already there. Some of the servers were very attentive and thoughtful, where some others took out plates before we even managed to finish eating. It was a Friday night and just before Christmas so I can understand that things were busy but my table ended up feeling like we were bothering staff and we felt rushed.

The staff was very friendly. I like the style of the restaurant itself. The drinks are also fabulous and delicious. I can recommend the non alcholic drinks. The food came fast and it tasted delicious. I can only recommend the place. For Vegetarians, there are also a few options. I recommend reserving a table because the restaurant is in a popular part of London and fills up quickly. Specially on Fridays and Saturdays.

Nice place, but be warned that bottomless magheritas and nachos is actually bottomless drinks with a one plate of crisps to share with the table. Almost fell of my chair when I realised I’d waited till 9:30pm for dinner only to share half a bag of nacho chips between four of us. At the very least, usually establishments will give each person a plate of food. I don’t hate it, I just wish the advertising was less deceiving

The best festive restaurant in London! This is where we celebrated the New Year and the evening was great, with lots of atmosphere! Extravaganzaaa evening 🤪 Thank you to the servers for their responsiveness and kindness ❤️ We will come back with pleasure!!

Strange to see such high ratings for this place. Food is below average considering the price. Margarita cocktails are horrible sweet drinks without any reason named as cocktail. Loud music that makes any conversation a struggle. Maybe I've been in the wrong time or day?

This restaurant / bar offers a nice atmosphere (especially during Christmas season), it might be a little too loud & stressful for some people though. Other than that, the food and drinks are amazing. I would recommend the lychee margarita.

The 1h unlimited margarita deal starts at 9:30pm but the deal stops at 10:30pm. They fail to mention the end time anywhere on their website. Ridiculous to use this scam to try to get people into your establishment!

The margarita deal is only from 9:30-10:30pm. It is not mentioned explicitly anywhere. The menu says “from 9:30” but if you come any later the kitchen is closed… I feel scammed. The cocktails we also ordered despite this were either overly sweet or flavourless.

This was my first time here, and I'm booking again in December when I'm nearby! From arrival to departure, service was brilliant. The food was outstanding! I can't recommend enough. 2nd visit on 21/12 2024 and the service, atmosphere and food were amazing - second to none. My sister and I had been to see a show and could've chosen somewhere nearer, but there was only one place we wanted to go! Highly recommend!!

Had our Christmas meal here last week. Really great atmosphere, we loved the food and drinks and everyone in the group was very happy. Reason for the 4 star service was as we entered, we have our name to the hostess, she said something and headed into the restaurant and we all followed, only for her to turn to us and tell us to go back to the entrance. Without her telling us it seems our table wasn’t ready and she left out group standing at the front door for over 10 mins. As the hostess, communication is key no matter how busy you think you are and might be worth remembering that we’re not mind readers in future. Other than that, we had a great time.

We booked for the bottomless margaritas with nachos. We had arrived and taken our seats at the table, where we then told the waiter we had booked for the bottomless drinks and nachos. Only when we came to order did the waiter tell us they had ran out of nachos and they were offering fries instead. Now, on their website they encourage booking for this bundle, which starts at 9:30pm. Imagine booking for 30 minutes after this offer is active and being told they had sold out at 9pm (the times don’t add up). Manager had said to us “it’s no different to reserving a roast on a Sunday and not being able to get roast potatoes because it’s busy”. Clearly the manager had 3 brains cells, 2 of which functioning as his eyes because that’s not how reservations work. If you pledge an offer for specific time frames that encourage booking, you would at least ensure you had the stock to manage that - especially considering it’s an advertised offer. Now, I appreciate things happen, especially unexpected influx, but to not acknowledge this and offer something of lesser value (they said we could have chips) I find is poor customer service. If they had said “we’ve made a bit of an oversight here, our bad” different story. But to make out that we were silly for not anticipating this after travelling to London and booking a late reservation is ignorant. Especially when the late reservation is in line with their advertised slots, and meant it was harder for us to find another place to eat. Absolutely ridiculous.

What a great place we discovered in London, matinee was booked for the ballet, lunch was tasty, hot and service was brilliant, we were fitted in to return after the performance for a cocktail 🍸 and change of staff but great service continued, we were looked after by Lucas. Well done to kitchen, bar and front of house. Happy New year to everyone.
