Great pub, owners were so welcoming, very friendly atmosphere

Staff were attentive and fun, and the music being played was excellent. A good Vibe and very friendly regulars.

Have now, a pizza van in the car park from Thursday to Sunday. Thought that I would try one and take home. Fresh, and quickly made and tasted great. Recommended.

It's a PROPER PUB! Normal people drinking and enjoying themselves. No food, so what? Go somewhere else. The staff and people here are fantastic. I'm 67 and know a PROBER PUB. This is it in Cheshunt.

All can say is Terrible. Don't visit, go to the bullshead just up the road much better.

Love this pub, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the pub feels comfortable to walk in as a single female and not intimidating at all, which is lovely to see. The entertainment has been really fun with lots of dancing going on! It's easy to get to by bus or train if you fancy a drink or there's a large carpark to accommodate everyone. The landlady is a fantastic host and takes her time to make everyone feel welcome. A proper community pub which even has its own separate sports bar with a pool table, darts and t.vs, you don't often see that nowadays!

Under the new management this pub has really turned around! A fun welcoming environment, loads of events - live music, quizzes and music nights regularly. A separate bar with sports, pool table which is free to play at certain times. Well done to the new management 👏

This ship is definately a steady old girl. The personification of a 'local'. Great place to go to clear your head, enjoy a good pint and generally just chill out. Not sure wether it serves food or not.

I haven’t been in there much before but popped in during Cheltenham racing week and I asked the bar manager if she could turn on the racing and she did so straight away. Very friendly chatty staff, well kept and great selection of entertainment 👍

Great pub...friendly atmosphere and lovely locals! We went on Saturday evening and there was a live singer (Louise) - great act and sang a wide range of songs and tunes across the evening.... fantastic atmosphere with loads of dancing and singing along!

First visit, plenty of parking space, good atmosphere, friendly staff, nice pint of AK bitter, comfortable seating and thoroughly enjoyable 'Open Mic' evening... cheers!!

Nice pub friendly staff good all round experience

Clearly a locals pub. Pulled in on the way home after driving past several times and seeing this huge anchor in the car park. There is plenty of space inside with a fair selection of drinks and snacks. Staff are friendly and attentive. Tables were cleared quickly to allow punters to sit if they wanted. Has a friendly vibe and I will be popping in again at some point.

Been here a few times with darts team,very friendly staff, good choice of beer would pop in if in the area.

Nice pub with loads of parking. Average pint selection and middle aged to old crowd. But service was friendly with a smile.

Fantastic Guvnors n staff. If you looking for that old time drinkers pub where u can talk to every patron. This is the place for you.

A typical MC Mullens pub, very basic with some outdoor seating undercover, and free large parking area. Usual hot bar boxed food available. Football and darts shown on TV. No live music on a regular basis. All in all a cosy pub with a warm and friendly welcome. (Only have 4 stars due to a poor menu)

Good location for watching TV and a few drinks. Mainly locals with a majority of male customers.

Low cost beer. The only saving grace... No food to speak of. A decor from the dark ages. Way too much odor of disinfectant (and you are left wondering WHY). Half a mile up the road is The Bulls Head which is orders of magnitude better in every way. This place needs new Management; and one with a vision. They have decent space and easy access but no one seems to care that it's rightly a cheerless experience. Local competition south of The Anchor is very poor, perhaps that's why no one bothers to upgrade this place, but my advice is to give this place a miss and walk or drive the extra half mile north to The Bulls Head. Sorry Anchor Pub, you are a poor excuse for a Millennial's social hot-spot.

The drinks are good value but the bar needs to be totally refurbished to make it into a nice place to drink or eat.

Great pub and we'll look after building. McMullen's really do look after pubs in my opinion.

Lovely bolt hole to sit talk and enjoy. Staff are well versed in being approachable and professional. Nice atmosphere and comfortable.

Popped in here with my hubby Sunday lunchtime! Not been here for a few years and really enjoyed! Lovely lady served us... great vibe in here obviously good for the local football team who all came in! Gonna try this pub on a Saturday and see what it's like 😀

The atmosphere in this pub was friendly welcoming and cosy. The first visit made feel as though I could easily enjoy coming here. Football was on the TV, and both sets of supporters where passing friendly banter, and my "Northern" contribution was accepted.
