Lovely spot for a drink - Used to live opposite when it first opened and regularly visited. Been back recently and its kept all its charm. Not usually huge on craft beer but there is some good lager options and the gin choice is vast. Looking forward to popping in again Friday. Might try the pizza this time :)

The beer is chronically overpriced and tastes off, not the first time I’ve been here and had this. Just stick to selling bottles because clearly you can’t maintain your lines and kegs.

The girl serving was lovely and was very helpful but £7 for a pint of lager!!!! Come on your having a laugh there. Talk about cossy living crisis

At 9pm on a Friday night this place was all but empty. Good choice of beers and gins but very expensive up to £7.50 a pint. Music genre that was being played was not my choice and obviously not drawing the crowds in. Shame as this nice venue is in a great location.

Staff very efficient and a great venue. Food was superb and the cocktails bang on.

Dry pizza, incredibly overpriced and the tills chaafge more than the menu states.

Drinks were very expensive, the food choice was limited, we were over charged twice because apparently the till wasn't programed correctly ?? The pizza was dry with very little topping or flavour, the dough balls were ok though. We left because the smell of smoke from the cooking was over powering and spent the rest of the evening smelling like we'd been at a bonfire. Won't be going back there, trying to be London trendy, with London prices without the atmosphere or quality.

Made a booking well in advance online. 3 days before had a voicemail to say they now have a private booking and wouldn't accommodate our table. Terrible customer service. Not even an offer for an alternative time or date. Just overall, terrible. Would never consider booking ever again. Never known anything like it.

Went to a friend's birthday at octagon. We enjoyed many pizzas which were really tasty. The bar staff were helpful and friendly throughout the evening. Will be back

The drinks were pricy but expected for the type of establishment. The staff didn’t seem sure they knew what they were doing. The glasses beer was served in were not what I would call clean. Some of the older clientele were glaring at us at times and while it isn’t establishment’s fault, it didn’t make the experience more pleasant.

Great atmosphere. Good food Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and will be going back.

Visited oktagon in Knowle on Friday 31st march 2023 at around 5.30pm. Ordered food and the hygiene of the guy cooking the pizzas left a lot to be desired. Whilst preparing the food he was constantly messing with his mouth, nose, face etc. running his fingers through his hair , on his mobile phone, eating the food that he was preparing. Messing with switches. Also the young girl who took our order - when she brought our food to us didn’t offer us napkins, knives and forks or rude plates - we had to ask. Very very poor service and hygiene by oktagon- disgusting.

This has seriously been the worst service I've received in years .i was greeted by a young girl whom hadn't a clue what was going on .she wasnt able to allocate us a seat so we just sat at the nearest table .we ordered a bottle of wine and she promptly took payment .lots of tables with no drinks on .people walking out as waiting too long .4 staff all milling around doing nothing .waited 20 mins for our drinks so decided to go to the bar and ask “.yes they will be with you shortly “ 10 minutes later they arrived so half an hours wait for a bottle of wine .abs ridiculous .there is abs NO customer service .the only quick service was when they took payment!!!! Its being run by collage kids but it needs someone in there to organise the staff .such a shame as the decor is lovely but customer service has to come first .always greet and acknowledge your customers .very important .

Recently been there for a lovely drink with friends. Welcoming staff and making sure u get a table even if it’s not any available, Archie and bar staff will be look out for u. Fantastic selections of drinks. We are defiantly be back soon.

Outstanding experience, from start to finish I couldn't have asked for more. Service was great and not only was the choice of beers/ciders exceptional but the taste and quality was second to none. Very pleasant atmosphere created with all in there and had a great time. Thank you team Oktogon, will definitely be back soon! Happy Christmas to all.

A little paradise in Knowle. We like to visit Knowle with our dog occasionally and we were delighted to find Oktogon hiding on Station Road. We only had time for a coffee on this visit but the menu, although fairly light included some tasty meals, which we'll try on our next visit. Polite staff too.

Really enjoyed this place. The decor is supper cute and inviting, and I really enjoyed their pizza! Tried the truffle pizza and the cheese to sauce ratio was perfect! The sauce is also seasoned very well! The goat cheese pizza had great flavours that worked well other. Only downside was the crust was thin and cracker-like vs doughy and chewy.

Can only comment on the drinks aspect as we didn't eat but the gin selection was great, lots of interesting beers and great cocktails. A really quirky little building hidden behind the shops. Loved it!

Hidden little place down a brick lined alley in the middle of Knowle. Craft Beers and Gins. This is the sister venue of Skogan in Dorridge and is in the same Scandinavian style. Friendly staff serving drinks and pizza menu (not tried yet but heard someone in there saying it was superb)

A nice little place for a drink

Visited last night. Drinks have to be ordered from roaming bar staff rather than from the bar, presumably due to covid. However the music playing was that loud you had to shout to hear what anyone was saying so more chance of spreading anything than you would standing at the bar

Great atmosphere, beautiful gluten free pizzas and fab selection of Gins. Will deffo be returning in the New Year!

A place to meet friends if you can handle the cloudy beer and prices to match!

Good range of pizzas, variety of beers, staff were friendly/ provided good recommendations and the restaurant interior provided a very relaxing experience.

Booked a table after wine tasting next door at Loki for 830pm for food. Arrived waited 15 mins before came to take order then to be told kitchen is not serving pizza! Then after 10 mins of waiting for a a poor pornstsr martini with no decoration on it and costing £10! We see pizza going to two woman on the table next to us. All we had to eat was overpriced crisps and olives. Staff rude and not welcoming at all. Myself and friends will not visit again. 5 drinks, few snacks best part of £70 shocking.

I only went for a quick pint and I was pleasantly surprised to see so many ales on offer. I also forgot to pay my tab and only remembered when I got to the next pub but I did go back though.😄

Consistently excellent, fantastic selection of beers and Gins and the pizza is top class. A great option set in a lovely village location. Very rare to find a place like this away from more urban areas. Great independent's like this need everybody's support 'use it, dont lose it'

Great food. But realistically you come here for the drinks which are amazing. I really like the beers they get in. However, the room gets really loud really easily and you end up having to shout to the other people at the table due to the poor acoustics.

Would love to review the food but they stop serving at 5.30 this is great when it opens at 4 on a friday. Was not told this when booking a dinning table and it is not mentioned anywhere on their website. The covid 19 restriction are a joke with tables shoulder to shoulder. Their tables are dirty and honestly we payed the £7.70, walked down the road and had a lovely meal at the greswolde arms. Edit: I have found it states that they dont serve pizzas on friday nights and only till 4pm on sat. This info can only be found by going through the open table app, not the page Oktogon run.

Absolutely terrible customer service skills by the blonde host and will NEVER visit this restaurant again. I believe staff, in particular her, need training on how to speak to guests properly and treat them with respect. I went today, fair enough I was half an hour late, however I tried calling the restaurant 6 times to inform them that I would be late. When I got to the restaurant I was told by a lady with blonde hair, that they don't answer the phone when they're busy.. very poor excuse as the restaurant wasn't that busy at all. There were plenty of staff behind the bar just cleaning glasses... She didn't even apologise for not answering the phone, she bluntly and rudely told us she can't help and walked away. There's a way to speak to people and that's absolutely not on. Never have I been spoken to in this way. Part of a restaurant experience is the food and the customer service. Food might have been great but absolutely horrible staff, and will recommend to all my family and friends to stay away, unless they want to be treated like dogs...

Quiet friendly place with great Pizza

Amazing pizzas (highly recommended the Four Cheese and Mediterranean). Staff were lovely and friendly as usual.

As a fan of Pizza we were recommended Oktagon by some friends and it certainly over achieved on expectation. The Pizzas here are the best I have tasted, and that's after having travelled around Italy last year! The restaurant is Nordic style so I cannot wait to go back in the winter months, they stock a wide variety of Gins too! Currently they are running a 2 for 1 on Pizzas Sunday to Wednesday so definitely worth a pop in. Staff were ever so friendly - a lovely dining experience.

Quite but a nice Sunday drink with 3 nice lads serving.

Have been here several times, and always enjoy it. The cocktails are (currently) 2 for 1 from 5-7 every day. We had a 12" pizza and cheesy garlic bread - all freshly cooked. Staff are friendly and polite. Recommended

Bit expensive but nice selection of drinks

We had a lovely evening here! We booked a table in light of Covid restrictions and sat outside where the lighting was beautiful and heaters kept us warm. Pizzas were delicious and authentic (I had a vegan pizza which was also delicious .. tasty vegan...

Excellent Scandinavian bar in Knowle with an amazing range of gins, great service and lots of nice seating. Good atmosphere. This review would have been 5* had it not been for the regrettable inability to stock a decent session ale. Way too funky at present. But a minor issue.

Great pizzas and wide range of gin artisan beers on tap. Scandinavian theme but too much 'fur' around for my taste. Dog friendly except in the evening.

Really delicious and large pizza, enough for two. They serve 10 Premium Craft Beers on draught which is big selection. Craft beers always cost more than standard ales and they charge the going rate or less.

Oktogon is exactly what Knowle needed to break the monotony of generic chain pubs. Nice beer selection, good food, friendly staff and seriously cool building with loads of character.

Very noisy loads of kid's. Music too loud. Pizza took 30 minutes. Pizza was burnt. Fries were burnt. For 13 quid a pizza was a complete joke. Very good idea. Poorly executed. My advice STAY AWAY. Needs better staff and managing correctly. You pay peanuts you get monkeys.

Normally love the place for a chilled drink after work but Sunday lunchtime wos a great disappointment. Goats cheese salad had the smallest piece of cheese ever! No mushrooms for pizzas and Something else for one of my friends toppings they’d run out of. Yes staff chilled talking to each other behind bar mostly. And to have a malted milk biscuit with coffee please!!!! There 50p a packet.

Place is very nice inside. Go up a small entry to get to main entrance. Little seat area by the entrance. Enjoyed my visit.

Lovely place for a relaxed drink

I have been to the oktogon many times. I have to say that it is my favourite place to go. Nice and relaxing place. The staff are so polite and friendly. Absolutely first class. Excellent. Paul.

For me there are two things guaranteed at the Oktogon: Friendly service and great tasting ales. Well worth a visit, especially mid week, when a Little quieter, and more relaxed. There are some great ales on, and yes, they may cost a little more, but...

Found it to noise and the beer I had was not very nice.

Quite a unique offering. Well hidden down a little alley, you walk in an find yourself inside an octagon shaped structure. Nice little patio and a mezzanine for extra seating. I haven't eaten here but hear it's decent. All in all, a very smart venue. I'll admit that the beer is pricey, but it's mostly unusual micro brews, craft ale and such. Would recommend as something for an occasion or date night.

Love the craft beers but that loud music keeps me and so many others away. A real shame
