Farthings in Solihull

We visited The Farthings on a Monday evening, quiz night. The place was full of atmosphere and people were excitedly waiting for the quiz to begin. There was a good crowd who were all watching sports on the many televisions strategically placed around the pub. The staff were a delight, Jess who is the deputy manager was attentive and chatty with the customers, making everyone feel at home. The two bar staff, Sarah and Holly were very quick and efficient when customers approached the bar always ready with an empty glass, hovering over the real ale and lager taps. Jess who was our quiz master worked tirelessly and you can tell she takes the quiz very seriously. All in all a great night and lots of fun.

The pub had a nice atmosphere and nice staff. The menu seemed like it had a good choice, however most of the menu was unavailable. Went to order 3 times to be told the chosen meal was not available. I ended up asking the bar staff what "was" available so as to not waste anymore time picking from the menu that was not available. When given the actual available meals it was a seriously limited menu to the point of one member of our party having to order 2 starters instead of a main meal.

Very pleasant staff we go in every week and the food is lovely

I popped in over the Bank Holiday weekend and it was good to see the pub busy. I opted for a real ale and had to change it because it was off. The second ale was also off, so ended up with a Carling. Good service, sport on the screen, but let down with the poor ales.

Love visiting here, the food is great, we are loving the new menu! Staff are always so friendly, especially lorna kieran and jess :)

Great local boozer, staff are always happy to help and go the extra mile. Jess and Lorna in particular! Food is pretty decent and always showing the footie. Can't fault it.

Came here for a few drinks with friends not long ago. Had a nice time. Drinks were great and thw staff were very friendly.

First time back in this pub since the last century 🤣. Still a good atmosphere staff are friendly and it's a decent pint.

Visited today..food is great..had the fish and chips.plus mushy peas..my friend had Katsu chicken..well we were not dissapointed.🤪have been going here for 12 months..never had a bad meal..big shout out to..Lorna..Dwayne and Callum..will be back soon..for more delicious food.😋😋

Great place for the family. Friends. Associates. Buddies. Food done to order. I need to order, not RUMP, BUT...T staff are very welcoming and bothered. Willing to help even if you don't want, me: give mi that cloth it's my mess. Them: it's ok. I still in shock lol. Good atmosphere. Eat and drink or just drink.

Always love the food when I visit here but had the most delicious meal cooked by Lorna today! Always a 5🌟 experience at The Farthings!

Nice local pub clean inside and not bad priced

Meet up with friends. Sat in the lounge to start off with but very busy. Changed to the bar area and had a really nice time from lunch till almost finishing time. Will go again.

Dog friendly ... great beer garden .. a sunny spot for a pint and a catch up with food too

Nice to pop into now and then good value for money

Food took ages to arrive about 30-45mins and was only just warm as if it had been sitting, had steak but no steak knives provided, the pub itself was ok, kid friendly and staff are polite. Just a bit disappointed with the food after reading reviews.

Like meeting friends there staff are friendly and helpful food is lovely 👍

Take the H out the name and I'll give you five stars.

Went for a family drink was not allowed to sit outside with our 17 year old granddaughter she was only drinking coke.

Staff friendly and nice place have a meal and drink

Amazing experience start to finish, the person that served us, Lorna, was friendly and catered to our faffy food requests with no issue and a smile the whole time. They made the experience that much more enjoyable. Highly recommended establishment

Popped in for some lunch and a quick catchup with friends, the 5 plank deal on the weekend is a great price and the food never disappoints! Lorna was especially attentive to us and offered great service throughout our visit, would highly recommend this pub!

Went with Granchildren, very friendly atmosphere. Lorna was excellent asking if all was OK, checking we knew what dietary choices were available such as gluton free.

Great food with gluten free options too. All welcome , not made to feel awkward with children. Great new look for this pub. Many thanks to Lorna who went above and beyond to make sure our meal out was just wonderful.

Lovely pub with nice atmosphere bar staff all amazing and give good vibes when serving this makes good impression and has made us come back to this pub well done to the staff and thank you the only problem and why I didn't give 5 stars for food was that when 2 of a 9 party had BBQ chicken cheese and bacon it only comes with a drizzle of BBQ on top every pub we've been to it usually comes covered in BBQ sauce and that's why we had this but as chicken bacon cheese was cooked perfect it was very dry due to the drizzle of BBQ sauce so we wouldn't recommend this we also asked for extra BBQ sauce but the chef refused as he had done to speck so this was very disappointing as we would of paid for extra sauce but I understand and just won't have it again perhaps mention on your menu drizzle of BBQ sauce as I would of definitely not had this love the fish and chips so I probably stick with that next time thanks for taking time reading feedback Rachel

It's a nice place, just a shame the staff are incredibly rude! Emma - Team Leader, what a vile woman with a vile attitude, will never be stepping foot in here again, you need to learn to talk to people instead of just being rude.

Fantasic staff even better beer

Not too bad in here is maybe a little overpriced. Despite that the place is comfy with a nice atmosphere. I have not ate in here but the food looks lovely.

Great pub,friendly bar and lounge ,good food.only criticism pay carpark,you claim parking fee back off first purchase bit of a pain.suppose it,s to prevent non customers using it.

Good was excellent. Service of the food was excellent. At the bar maybe due to the amount of people to be served. We were rushed, felt like it was too much. Had to explain we wanted large drinks several times. My son in law was made you feel unwelcome.

This out has recently undergone a refurbishment, I found it welcoming and a pleasant casual environment for lunch with friends. The staff were really friendly and the food was excellent. As i am hralthy eating I chose the salad with quorn steak , I would have preferred it if there was a choice for 'real' meat, but the quorn tasted ok. The salad was lovely, it was presented artfully and tasted delicious. My friends had scampi, chips and peas and the portion size was good and again presented nicely on the rectangular plate. I would definitely visit here again as it is a pleasant relaxing unpretentious atmosphere.

Just stopped for one drink. Staff were very friendly, didn't stop to eat but smelled nice. Only thing was some of the looks from groups in the pub.

Have been several times since reopened after refurbishment. Staff are pleasant, helpful, and a great atmosphere and the service for meals has been good. Great local pub 👍

Pretty unremarkable food, and very very slow service. But it is cheap and almost every meal had a deal with a drink. Staff were nice and polite, but just very slow, and when you're waiting for food slow is not good. Its not a bad pub but on the scale of pubs its bordering below average, just serves its purpose. Wouldnt avoid, but wouldnt recommend. A Wehetherspoons is usually much much better

Typical old pub , hope the renovation keeps the atmosphere

It’s an OK pub. Food is the expected chain food in a bag and cook to instruction. Asked for steak medium rare and it came well done. This was rectified and dish was acceptable for price. They could do with better pudding options for the children as just a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream is as boring as it can be.

Every time I’ve been come here with My Mother and her partner, it’s a fantastic pub and restaurant The food here is at the top Quality Five golden stars , The staff are 10 out of 10 all day long . Next time I’m there I’ll figure it out how to put my wi-Fi on.

Great had a pint of cider and lager shandy and it cost just over a fiver apparently on a Mon and Tue lunch time it's £2 something a pint ,that is amazing to get change out of a £10

Wonderful local pub that keeps its patrons their top priority with the likes of Lorna and Kieran making the perfect faces to greet new and regular customers alike always the place for a friendly face!

The Farthings is my second home but the icing on the cake is Lorna. Lorna always greets me with a smile and she makes the night an enjoyable one.

Bad management and bad attitude to customer when ordering food. After speaking to the manager and going back for a second time the manage at time Emma was welcoming polite and food was great thank you

The meals were great, my husband said the mixed grill was best he's had, good quality. The pub was noisy due to a football match but the food made up for it

Now have to pay £2 for carpark and the days special not available and no alternative offered

Having spent 20 minutes trying to use ny card in the parking meter only to be told it only took £1 coins of which I didn't have any, I gave it a miss, surely someone could have had the sense to put a notice on??.

Went to the farthing last night for food and for the live entertainment it was amazing night would highly recommend the food and the live entertainment

Saturday evening entertainment usually draws a crowd and a good atmosphere.

Booked a meal for 7 o,clock to then find out the kitchen shut at 6.30 so ended up with no meal

Had a lovely meal with a friend. Food was good and service quick. Staff are fantastic; so friendly and welcoming. Plenty of screens for watching various sports. These are not intrusive though if you are not there for the sport. Plenty of tables and everywhere clean. Would highly recommend.

Decent drinking hole, bit spit and sawdust but I like that 👍

Well kept beer, had 2 or 3 different pints and they were all excellent. 5 or 6 different screens showing different sports and staff were really friendly.

Good atmosphere, great staff especially Billie, she is awesome. There was a big crowd of us celebrating a birthday and we was seated outside. Billie braved the evening cold and took our drink orders. A nice pint of mild to be had there, will definitely return very soon.

Excellent food and massive drink selection. Staff always strive to make everyone welcome. Such a warm friendly welcome. Bookings are recommended but easy enough to make.

Popped in for a quick pint, I have to say it’s one of the best in the area...also really enjoyed the fish & chips. All in all ... great service and fantastic food and drink. See you guys soon.

Place is okay quiet in the day time and since covid it's pretty chilled at the night time I did have a burger from here and did receive diarrhea but it did taste really nice so maybe it was the beer? Go here if you fancy a quiet day time meal and drink.
