Oka Restaurant in Kensington and Chelsea

Soy cliente de este restaurante desde hace años, siempre es bueno y de alta calidad. Volví la semana pasada y no sé cómo fue posible pero fue aún mejor. fue una experiencia sensorial, mis papilas gustativas estaban de celebración! Estaba tan satisfecha y feliz que le pedí a la gerente Silvia (es la más amable) que le transmitiera mis felicitaciones al chef. Además, el restaurante estaba muy ocupado, había docenas de pedidos para llevar, pero gracias al numeroso personal de la cocina, nosotros en el comedor recibimos nuestra comida a tiempo. La gestión del restaurante es perfecta, el personal es amable y la comida es fabulosa. Probablemente aquellos que dejaron críticas bajas tenían algo personal en contra de este lugar.

Staff is so rude that id never visit this place ever again even if I enjoyed the food, but to me the food is nothing special. There are much better japanese restaurants in the area. I felt uncomfortable by just how rude the staff behaved they were unprofessional, horrible service and extremely judgemental. Wouldnt return.

Wonderful recent visit to Oka very busy local atmosphere! And amazing food with a wide variety of different types. Best way is to get a few dishes and share them together! Food arrived very quickly! Very good staff!

So, we went to Oka for a family celebration. Food was good, no complaints there, but I won't be going back in a hurry. We'd been at the table for 1 hour and 10 mins and just ordered dessert when 30 seconds later a lady comes and thrusts a bill at me and says we have to leave because they need the table for the next customers. They'll probably respond to this review with some nonsense excuse, but the written confirmation (see screen grab) clearly says that we had the table for 2 hours (BTW, my wife Jane booked the table on the phone - but they put her name down as James. Attention to detail not a strong point here). So, we left, without dessert for my son who was celebrating exam results, and £200+ lighter. Really not good enough. I almost refused to pay the gratuity, but decided it wasn't the fault of the waitress and that would be unfair. Oh, and if you are sat near the kitchen as we were, you'll have a constant stream of takeaway bags passing by which is quite annoying when you are in a not inexpensive restaurant. Its all a shame - but I really struggle with restaurants which charge top dollar but treat customers with such contempt...

The perfect cozy place fir casual dinners w friends - exceptional food and had the best bulgogi beef + the vibes were excellent.

Being lucky to live in the heart of Chelsea gave me access to some of the best restaurants right on my door step and this one is my favs starting my obsession for cream cheese and avocado sushi, so simple yet so yummy.

Spontaneous sushi meal last night at Oka Restaurant. This is a little gem of a place with fantastic food and fast service. I ordered 5 pieces of vegan sushi which was so fresh and filled with pickled carrots, avocado, cucumber, lettuce, and asparagus. I also order the grilled aubergine with miso glaze because I'm obsessed with it and cannot make it at home. Also, the cocktails were perfectly made. It was a really great meal and would definitely recommend it to anyone for a special meal in central.

More intimate than the garish Ivy Asia and more sophisticated than New Culture Revolution its King’s Road neighbours Oka is a good choice in Chelsea for Asian food in general and sushi in particular. Prawn tempura were some of the crispiest and best we’ve tasted. Six pieces came with a choice of two sauces and were set on a bed of lettuce. Avocado spring rolls were substantial and chunky. Kung pao chicken featured chunks of meat mixed with cashew nuts chilli and beans on a bed of rice. Advertised as a special on the address page of the menu I opted for orange chicken whose pieces came with orange peel in a tangy sauce which needed a separate bowl of egg fried rice. The reasonable prices, at least by Chelsea standards for the food, is not matched by the rather inflated prices for glasses of wine. We stuck to tea, mine with pieces of lemon and ginger rather unceremoniously floating in hot water.

Came here and the food was amazing. They kindly gave us a table without a reservation and had a great time. Really recommend the Beef teppanyaki, great quality and full of flavour. All the food was very fresh and tasty. I will be going back and I recommend this place for a lovely meal out.

We visit various Okas fairly often as it’s usually quite good for lunch. It is not good for dinner. It is too rushed and kitchen/bar drop the ball. Ordered two cocktails but these did not arrive until the fourth plate of sushi arrived. Not even water!! The food arrived within minutes of ordering but we were waiting for ages to be served in the first place. The team is completely out of sync with each-other. The baby squid arrived within minutes but cold. How? Was it someone else’s order that was sent back and they tried to palm it off to me? Sent back and it did come back hot, probably warmed up in the frier ha Cocktails were fine but stingy at £10.50 a go. All in all, what was supposed to be a relaxing evening, was a 50 minute in and out jobby, and I left £100 lighter. Will be giving it a miss from now on, better spots on King’s road.

It is a no brainer this restaurant is excellent. The quality of the food is exceptional and they serve a good selection. Everything is very fresh. Sylvia and her team are very professional and I will definitely go back.
