OK Diners in South Kesteven

I called into this diner for breakfast in September and thoroughly enjoyed the veggie breakfast. Very cheap too. On another trip with a friend in October we again called in for breakfast and she was impressed. Nothing fancy but good, cheap breakfast. Washroom was very clean too. I don't know why people complained about the parking fines as there are signs everywhere warning you and there is a screen on the wall next to where you stand to be seated to enter your details for free parking?

Lovely and clean. Very friendly service. The menu was very good and the food was very tasty. Nice and light in there with the large windows letting in plenty of light and allowing you to eat and see the world go by.

Avoid, didn't even make it through the door due to customer queue. Needed to use the facilities also so had to make a dash across to the service station and left. Apparently they operate a penalty charge scheme in the car park that is not clearly marked. Also reports that even if you do enter your registration into their login tablet you still get fined - I travelled with a disabled person and used one of the marked disabled bays displaying the appropriate badge and received £100 fine for 10min!!!

If you park in the parking area, without paying, when going to the diner you will get a fine of £60 levied by a company called Smart Parking. If you appeal the fine you will get no answer from Smart Parking (it transpired that Smart Parking does not even have a customer interaction capability). The matter is then referred by Smart Parking to Debt Recovery Plus who will threaten you with court proceedings. Despite the lack of any appeal procedure the fine is then increased to £170. This is clearly unjust. I suggest that we should all avoid this diner in the hope that they will review their arrangements with Smart Parking.

Stopped by en route up north. Have often passed by and remarked on the name of this diner. Sadly, it lived up to its name. Its wasn’t great, or fabulous, just “ok”. I had fried eggs and bacon and sautéed potatoes, but the bacon was a really funny colour and looked very unappealing. Service was ok, we were reminded to enter our vehicle registration on entry so hope we don’t get a parking fine like many others have mentioned. Menu was extensive and the place was busy, but would not visit again.

Absolutely terrible service - waited 10 minutes to be told it would take 20 minutes to take away burger and chips. Left without anything other than a £100 fine for apparently parking in a place where no signs were apparent and no ticket machines in sight.

Stop there for 45 minutes spent £33.00 3weeks and three days later receive a fine £100 (hundred pound Parking .) I actually signed the van in to the desk and the young girl. I said you should sign it in and I’ve still received your.

Love this place. Good value for money. Lots of choice. Tasty food. Glasses and crockery could do with a good wash. Good service

Hi I'm absolutely disgusted with the parking fine I have just received . I came to dine following a long drive and needing a break. The staff were unwelcoming, abrupt and very rude to both me and my partner. As a result of being made to feel very unwelcome we left without dining. Only to receive a fine in the post. I'm disappointed if they consider this a place of rest and hospitality as it sure wasn't........ not impressed at all with the experience I'm wanted a break from driving and something to eat and left stressed, upset and very unhappy I have appealed to the parking fine due to the above as I would have expected better treatment to what would have been a dining paying and returning customer. Now I'm my travels I will not stop at an ok diner out of principle. In the past I have enjoyed the use of one on the way to Middlesbrough and loved the experience but it seems your quality has diminished since I last frequented your establishments. Called at colsterworth A1 south on 12 july 2024 used this one before, this time with two friends, we were not impressed after being seated it was 17 minutes before a member of staff came to take a food order we had to as for drinks as they were not offered, after the meal we were not asked if we wanted any thing else asked for the bill that took 21 minutes to arrive, will not ever use again.

Turned up on a Wednesday night as we heard the burgers were cheaper on a Wednesday. Food was fine and free refills (even though I was not allowed a coke after I had ordered a Fanta due to the sugar content 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️) The only thing about this place was the staff seemed pretty miserable. Not welcoming at all. Doesn’t really make us want to return! Shame!

Good simple well cooked food with an American / Canadian twist, that is yum. Restaurant and Rest rooms are clean . The American Diner feel is fun and not overdone. Good service, nicely cooked food.

No longer worth a visit. My wife and I once live locally so went there three/four times a year. Food was nothing to write home about but it was Ok, the diner is novel, staff we always friendly and it was reasonably priced. No longer. 0ver £30 for two simple breakfasts which, little over a year ago, cost £22.10. I was staggered to see the two small 150 ml cups of coffee cost £6.60. It was weak and tepid. I would have refused a refill if one was offered. And all this from a waitress that look like she hated working there and my wife and I were just making her day worse. Well she wont be seeing us again.

We had been to an event locally and were looking for somewhere to eat and I came across OK diner online and as we like an american diner, we thought we would give it a go. The venue looks like a american diner and the menu looks like it offers american diner style food. We ordered 2 burgers and a cajun chicken salad. The burgers were underwhelming. The burgers themselves were of poor quality with no flavour and the buns fell apart. The fries were acceptable. The salad was as described but again underwhelming with minimal chicken but with lots of tomato. I will say the milkshakes we had were very nice and I would recommend. However the coffee that was ordered was so small I am surprised it had not evaporated before it got drunk. When we had finished eating, the plates were removed and the bill placed on the table and card machine produced before we had finished our drinks. Overall : A real shame, wanted to love it, wanted to find a reason to come back and am really sorry to say could not find that reason.

It's great to see somthing diffrent friendly staff however for a american dinner portions are really small for the price

It's was very busy and buzzing. There was a little wait for a table, and a little wait for service, but the atmosphere made the wait more pleasant. We were served by a very courteous young chap, who took our order accurately and confirmed it exactly. The food was delicious, all day breakfast, cooked very well and piping hot. Only slight criticism was the constant stressed look on the supervisors face

The food was really good and the milkshakes amazing . We had excellent service from a lovely young man and he was so professional . I’ve rated the experience a three because the lady who brought our bill was nothing short of really rude to my friend because she forgot to show her OK dining card , it really ruined the experience .

Love this place. We rock up with 5 adults and 5 kids so pretty hectic but these ladies just breaze it like it’s normal. It’s great as we can order a sort of food whether it’s morning or later in the day so serves us all well as some don’t want a breakfast. Staff always pleasant and helpful and food is great. Cannot praise them enough thanks

Nothing OK about this place. The latte came without froth and was at best luke warm. It was replaced with a boiling hot one which I suspect was the original one which had been microwaved. The sausages in my sausage sandwich were of the cheapest quality. I suspect there was no meat in them at all. The tables were sticky and the hot water in the ladies was icy cold despite a warning for very hot water. Avoid this place like the plague. My clothes now also smell of fried food as a reminder of a terrible experience.

Burger tasted really mid, like a dilapidated cheap meat imitation of beef. My sprite was flat, when I told the waitress she said I was lying to my face. Absolutely ridiculous. Would not recommend. If I was American I would feel insulted knowing this fraudulent imitation of American food was being sold.

Fabulous food, service and atmosphere. We have been going to this place for years. Always the same. A terrific place to stop off when heading North on the A1.

Very very busy was like a Kiddagarden kids running around parents letting them, can be very dangerous if waitress got scolding food drops/tripped off not staff fault parents should control children , I think no screaming children after 6pm this was 7:45pm ! When I say screaming I mean screaming !! Not enjoyable experience!! Concerned customer last thing on a Friday night after a long week.

Great BIG sign saying Large takeaway Coffee. Went in they don't do anything large intact it was small very small. I asked for large then said it's that size. I said what about a small one then, guess what same size. Atmosphere less than friendly won't be going back there that's for sure.

Great food and amazing service I highly recommend this restraint and the milkshake is legendary! Next time you are wondering where to have dinner here is your answer.

I always wanted to stop here and I wish I didn’t We was greeted by a young man and lady. We had 2 burgers which was nothing special can’t really say much about it Small cup of coffee which not the greatest But what amazed me was how dirty clothing the staff was wearing the young lad’s trousers was disgusting and he was serving my food and surely this was one off but I saw another staff member with dirty clothing surely if I turned up at my restaurant she would of sent them home.this was at 12.00 ish I also went to use there toilet smell and of stale pee smells was terrible I would avoid going back there

I really wanted to have a breakfast cooked for me and as a solo diner didn't want to be too conspicuous or have too much fuss. Breakfast, the "Bigger One" without eggs, just my preference, absolutely delightful, as was my server, no fuss, attentive without being obtrusive, made sure my coffee cup was kept full if I required, and I love the American Diner, "Pulp Fiction" vibes. Fast service, cooked to order, exactly what I wanted.

Absolutely fantastic breakfast and lovely, friendly staff. I never manage to eat all of a full English breakfast, but on this occasion, I actually did! Thanks ladies!

Remarkably efficient, and it really is a fast-food place. I was seated promptly, served promptly, and the meal arrived quickly I enjoyed the vegetarian tex-mex, and portions were great. Nice atmosphere, too. Loos are a bit basic, but clean and functional.
