I very leave reviews but I had such amazing service and food I just had to say it. I was treated to a meal here for my birthday. The food we had was incredible, the service from Aimee was second to none and the bunless lamb burger was the best! I tried abit of the blue cheese sauce too and I drank the jug of it... well most of it. Thanks for a great meal!

We went to this place after trying a couple more that were full, and we were not disappointed! I do not understand why there weren't more customers there on a Saturday lunch. Service was great, and the food was really good too! One of the best burgers I have had in a while, and the loaded fries were really loaded - maybe even too much as we didn't finish them :) will definitely go back there when in Stamford, so I can try another burger!

The best burger I have ever had. I have been here twice in the last couple of months and have thoroughly enjoyed the food both times. The staff in this family run business are always extremely friendly, offering a great service. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant highly enough.

We discovered No.1 Kitchen yesterday and wish we had found it earlier. Had one of the best burgers ever, with lovely super friendly staff and great atmosphere. A hidden Gem! Had always thought it was more of a cafe, but really it’s a kind of high quality American / Local Diner

Went here with my Dad and 14 month old Daughter and was a lovely experience. My daughter has allergies and is still breastfed so we are both on a strict diet, the kitchen could not be anymore accomodating. My Dad is staying in their sister business, the guest house and it is so clean and comfortable. The ladies serving were a pleasure and really enjoyed their company. I could not recommend this place enough. Cannot wait to visit again.

Went to this place last night and was pretty disappointed. From the moment I arrived I found the staff to be quite unfriendly. As the night passed on the staff were just downright rude. Weird set up with having to go to entrance to order anything and no table service. Will not be returning. Better off crossing the road to go to London inn. They have a much wider selection of drinks and food and the staff is friendly. In conclusion, Avoid, spend your money elsewhere.

Every visit here is always friendly with a great atmosphere, clean and tidy. The management and waiting staff are trained well and are an asset too. Finally the food.. Well its just fab. You have it just right, well done.

Very lucky us… stumbled across this place after an easy wonder round Stamford on a birthday break. Booked for supper that evening (cancelling our original restaurant elsewhere). Couldn’t have been happier. Lovely, lovely staff and greeted with genuine beaming smiles, great atmosphere, good modern welcoming dining space. Had one of their signature burgers (with chargrilled chicken, bacon and handmade beef burger) with masses of sweet potato fries and many dips… the better-half went straight for the chargrill cajun chicken… All perfectly cooked, perfectly presented (big stack) and really very tasty… will be coming back to try their outdoor terrace in the warmer weather. Customers for life. Ty for a lovely meal… was meant to be (even played our song by complete coincidence at the end). Totally amazing.

So wanted to love this place, burger cooked to your liking. But it lacked seasoning and was a bit dry. Will try it again.

If there were 6 stars, they would get them! We booked the exclusive use of this wonderful restaurant, and I cannot sing their praises highly enough: the food was fab, the gourmet burgers were delicious. The drinks were plentiful, with a great choice. And while all that is a credit to them, their biggest positive is the people working there. Went for dinner with friends last night (23/12/22) and had a nice meal, the food was brilliant, where it fell short for me was the service, I know how busy Christmas time is and the place was rammed but it's the little things like waiting 20 minutes for a coke and water whereas all the alcohol was brought within 2 minutes. I will most likely come back.

I have been eating out at No 1 Kitchen for 7 years. The service is exceptional with a warm welcome and attentive staff the minute you walk through the door. It’s such a friendly place you can’t help but feel like part of the No 1 family. The food is beyond beautiful, I have my favourite dish of Chicken Caesar Salad washed down with a glass of Pinot with soda - they know my preference so well it’s served straight away before I even ask. My last family visit was was my daughters birthday, our table was set with balloons and a cake with sparkling candles, while they sung happy birthday, was brought out to add that special touch to our meal! My daughter was over the moon. While the food is excellent, it’s the team vibe and hardworking staff that make your visit to No 1 a truly unique experience… they really are the best, so happy and generous they live up to the restaurant name - I can’t recommend it highly enough - you go in as a customer and leave as a friend! I have never experienced customer service as awful as I did in this place. As someone who works in a customer facing role, I would never dream of speaking to people the way the three women working here tonight did. We booked a table for 9:30pm to celebrate my friend’s 22nd birthday. We turned up just after half 9 and they made an attempt to gaslight us into thinking we booked it for 9pm. We have Facebook messages to prove this is not true. Next, a member of our group was accused of being in possession of a fake ID due to the staff’s incompetence and failure to recognise a new-style UK driving licence (which have been in circulation since the beginning of 2021!!). When we argued against this INCORRECT accusation, they bluntly told us our table had been given away. Apparently the licensing committee had paid them a visit earlier in the evening due to previous failures to recognise the difference between fake and real IDs. Genuinely in shock at how rude the staff were, I would not recommend this place to anyone and will not be returning until the waitresses/front of house staff learn some manners. Absolutely disgusted, would rate 0 stars if I could.

Genuinely worst experience of my life! Waitresses were lingering around not doing any work. When we entered we were questioned about if we had a booking (which we did for 9:30) then got accused of being 40 minutes late for our booking which we weren’t. Then they accused all of our ID’s of being fake when we’re all 22 and above. Then they gave our table away out of rudeness! Was literally on our friends birthday as well! Do not go here!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awful customer service. We booked a table for drinks for a friends 22nd birthday. They got our booking time wrong and gave our table away to someone else. The restaurant was empty and they still couldn’t provide another despite them making the error. The 3 waitresses at the bar were rude and unprofessional. They accused everyone’s IDs of being fake despite them being real and we were celebrating a 22nd birthday. Don’t recommend if you want a whole enjoyable experience. I think they need to sort their staffs manners out.

Pleasant experience until the bar staff completely forgot about a drink we ordered. After 15 mins or more I approached the bar stating they’ve forgotten about my drinks order but that I don’t want it now and would like to pay, no apology nor explanation was offered. The bar staff asked me if I was sure I didn’t get the drink which was rude enough. He looked around baffled and said I need to process this and still delivered a receipt with the undelivered drink which we then had to remind him about again. A lot of shrugged shoulders and almost confusion as to why we were disappointed.Courtesy goes a long way, spoiled experience.

No.1 kitchen is called that for a reason, it is truly No.1 in Stamford! If you are visiting the town this place is the place you want to eat at it’s amazing! Food 10/10 and the owners are lovely made me and my partner feel really welcome, definitely my favourite place to eat!

We ate here on the off chance ( last night 03/09) as we were in Stamford for Burghley Horse Trials and what a fab evening we had. A wonderful,friendly welcome and atmosphere fab food and great cocktails. The restaurant was busy but this didn't affect the service and time taken from the staff ; their service was excellent; the menu had a great selection and the presentation of the food was so good - and the torts are beautiful too! Truly a fabulous evening and we would definitely recommend. Well done! ❤️

Extremely rude service after allergy mistake. The safety of my friend was dangerously compromised after serving him an allergen. Measures should be taken to ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else as the consequences could be more serious. To top it off the waitress shouted at my friend after the incident in a horrible tone. I attended this restaurant with two friends - one is allergic to egg and milk - we made this very clear to the member of staff in a polite manner. Despite my friends allergies, the burger still came with mayonnaise on its base (this could have killed him). We very politely notified the waitress and she incorrectly said the mayo didn’t contain egg and milk. She then returned 10 minutes later with a new burger after finding out from the kitchen that it did. My friend (who is very shy and quiet) then politely left the table to ask if the burger would be refunded - this was met by a horrible and rude response saying that it was extremely rude to ask and it was already removed (if this had been clarified by her beforehand then it wouldn’t have been asked). This embarrassed my friend in front of the already fairly empty restaurant and quite simply spoiled the meal and our day. Following this the waitress slammed the bill on our table as we were still eating our food. The restaurant needs to tighten its allergy policies before someone gets hurt and also train it’s staff properly regarding how they should talk to paying (and polite) customers after such a serious error had been made on their part. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone not wanting their week to be ruined by horrible service. It was disappointing that good food was let down by appalling customer service and a serious error being made regarding allergies in a mostly empty restaurant.

We love Number 1 Kitchen. Great food & fabulous cocktails with a buzzing atmosphere. The staff are wonderful. This is our favourite place to eat out in Stamford.

Lovely restaurant that is bigger than it looks from the outside. The food is amazing, you can tell the staff in the kitchen take pride in what they produce. Portions are very good. In all honesty if there's 2 of you dining one portion of fries is plenty between you. Cocktails are great and well priced too. Id definitely recommend it if you want a great burger and cocktail over lunch/dinner

Had a lovely lunchtime meal with 2 friends. We hadn’t booked but managed to get a table. The young lady who showed us to our table was friendly courteous as were all the staff who we encountered. The food was delicious, presented beautifully and ample portions. Overall a very enjoyable experience and I would recommend it to everyone.

Awesome retro style bar with superb burgers!

We were lucky with the late summer weather and ate on the terrace at the back of the restaurant. First class service and really high quality burger with meat sourced locally, will happily return.

Great place for a nice big meal, the burgers were very good and the vegan burger was amazing. Nice atmosphere. We ordered 2 sides but we didn't eat them all as the burgers were so filling but the onion rings and skinny fries were very nice. We had nachos as a shared starter and they were delicious.

It's decent apart from the fact that you order chips seperately. It's decent.

After checking the opening times on their web site which stated they close at 8.00pm on Sundays, we arrived at the restaurant on Sunday evening at 7.30. To be told by the only two young men in the bar, that they could not serve us because they were closing in 30minutes???

We booked a table for 6 including 2 children for Saturday lunchtime last weekend. Glad we did as they were having to turn away walk-ins because they were fully booked! We were initially showed to a bench in the sun but we asked to be moved into the shade and the staff were happy to accommodate this. The menu was ever so slightly reduced from the usual one on the website but there was plenty of choice. The childrens' menu was fine for our two and one chose a beefburger, the other chicken dippers. Burgers all round for the rest of us - mine bunless.Drinks were super quick to arrive and the food didn't take much longer. The burgers was genuinely the best I've had in a long time - you could tell it was made with really good quality meat, well seasoned, with no added "filler". I had the mucho nacho bunless and honestly I've no idea how you'd eat it inside a bun!! A really generous serving of nachos with melted cheese, jalapenos, salsa, sour cream and guac, piled on top of the afore-mentioned delicious burger. Side salad was lovely and I ordered a side of coleslaw which was also yummy. Lots of it too!Everyone else really enjoyed their meals too. The fries were great (skinny and sweet potato). Both the girls also enjoyed their kids' meals. I really liked that the children's burger was just a mini version of the adult one - it got a resounding thumbs up from our 6 year old! Service was really friendly and fast without feeling rushed. The terrace is a beautiful place to eat and under a parasol in the shade it was perfect on a warm day. Hope to come back soon with my OH for another meal - and to try the amazing sounding cocktails!

Relaxed atmosphere overlooking the green, easy to find minutes walking over the green by the river from the train station. Staff were friendly and helpful, I had the best burger I've had in ages, I chose the chicken fillet with pesto and mozzarella with slaw as a side cocktails were also a bonus and even better on the 2 for £10 a perfect way to spend a summers Saturday afternoon

Went for a meal on Saturday 5th June only taking bookings for outside at the moment but it was a lovely evening to sit out. Can't fault the food we had plus the cocktails. The only downside was the people smoking which made it a bit uncomfortable especially when 3 or 4 people are smoking. Maybe a designated area for smokers would be a good idea. Apart from that a lovely evening.

Booked a table here due to the terrace & predicted nice weather. Greeted by an unfriendly young girl who told me I wasn't welcome. I was asked to leave. Not the way to run a business. Unpleasant, rude staff and poor management.

This was a repeat visit as I have always liked No1 Kitchen. Didn’t disappoint with hearty sized food portions, great range of cocktails on the menu, and most importantly fantastic service! Really good value for money!

WOW!!!!!!!This place is just incredible.. we have been in before a couple of times one time on the terrace and food has always been amazing and service fantastic! The girls are so accommodating and make you feel welcomed as soon as you step in!tonight 24/10/20 we had a takeaway.. which we collected 20 mins after ordering which we were very happy with. ordered over the phone and paid that way, very easy!We had the ‘some like it hot’ burger which my partner said was beautiful & I had the ‘briella’ burger which I can hands down say is the nicest burger I’ve ever had it’s absolutely HUGE too!! 1000000% recommend this to anyone!We also had sweet potato fries, again stunning and the loaded nachos!Everything is full of flavour that even when you can’t possibly fit any more in you just have to! Went for a deal with a few friends Saturday night, very last minute but the staff were lovely and more than welcoming to us. Food was lovely and were regularly checked on for drinks. Staff handled a very difficult situation very well due to a aggressive and rude member of the public, working in the industry myself they couldn’t of handled it any better. Would definitely recommend!

Me and two friends came for a last minute meal tonight and I couldn’t have wished for anything better. They took us in happily and were so attentive during the time we were there. Although our delicious meal was put to a pause due to a rude, intoxicated and aggressive young lady, we felt very looked after and the young ladies serving us handled it incredibly. I wish I could reach out to them individually and thank them. Amazing food and amazing staff! Will definitely be visiting more. Lorna Markley

This restaurant was recommended by friends and it didn't disappoint. Had a lovely evening meal with my family. Food was lovely and value for money. We enjoyed the happy hour cocktails, which again I felt were good value. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food arrived quickly.

We called here for a last minute family meal following reading fantastic reviews.Service was 1st class, staff were polite, warm and welcoming, the food was cooked and presented really well, it was very tasty and reasonably priced, it also came quickly following ordering. Tip. The chip baskets are massive, so suggest sharing.The car park is close by which is a bonus.All round nice place to eat, recommended.

Great burgers .staff..atmosphere...

Stopped off for happy hour 2 cocktails for £10 made it very clear that they had to be the same cocktails and ordered at the same time in order for it to be a deal which is odd!? Bad drinks! Pornstar martinis were pure syrup and warm and thick like a smoothie disgusting! Asked the waitress why they were so thick and her response was that they were made that way so there was nothing really that she could and then still charged us full price? Staff seemed stressed and annoyed. Won’t be back and won’t be recommending.

Good food and excellent attentive staff. My wife and daughter both had burgers whilst I went for the chicken skewers. The sides of chunky chips and fries were almost too much to eat. It was our second visit here and it didn't disappoint. Will go again.

I ordered a Clacalaca Burger and chips which are extra and portion is great. The burger was something I’ve never had before it was outstanding I would recommend No1 Kitchen in Stamford it’s a must.

We enjoyed our lunch so much. The staff we all attentive and so accommodating! We ended up being late because of traffic problems. This didn’t faze the staff at all. The good was fabulous!! Going out in Stamford for a meal should be an enjoyable experience. Not at the No 1 Kitchen. All went well until the time to pay for the bill. After each of us had paid. The staff disputed the amount paid against the bill. The discussion went on and on. We went through what each of us have ordered and paid for. The staff would have none of it. They accused us of not paying in front of other customers and got more and more rude and aggressive.In the end we paid the outstanding amount dispute paying in the first place. Their customer service is disgusting. They give Stamford a bad reputation. For anyone wanting to eat out. Avoid No 1 Kitchen. There are plenty of other places that treat their customers with respect.

Family run eatery, something on the menu for everyone and nicely cooked food. Good service too. We spent ages just sitting chatting after eating, and we felt really comfortable. Great place to eat would recommend it.
