Random stop at this cafe - amazing Cornish pasty’s (And we’ve tried a few in the last 2 weeks lol) - decided to go full on and followed up with their cream tea, it didn’t disappoint with a huge portion of jam and cream. Highly Recommended.

We love visiting Oggy Oggy the Pasty Company in Torquay. Such a warm friendly environment, great staff and customer service. The food tastes delicious, so fresh and at a great price. The best ice cream in the bay without a doubt! There’s seating available inside and outside and they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

Best pasty I've had in a long time, the service was a little disorganised napkins blowing off counter, drinks being dropped, wrong total for order given and was re done but it had obviously been a busy day, & the gentleman that served us seemed very flustered but overall service was quite quick and the pasty was truly delightful would def eat there again.

Having had a cream tea in Dawlish earlier in the week, I was spoilt. Lots of jam and cream displayed and served in own pots. The cream was thick and jam was fruity. Today, had another here; poor attention to detail. Jam served in a pre packed plastic container (like the ones you find in b and b’s) and cream not thick. Not enough of each to cover the scone. First two pictures of cream tea elsewhere and third picture form here, today. As I said, the finer details matter.

Hubby, grandson and myself went in to Oggy Oggy`s for breakfast which we have done for a few years. To be fair the breakfast was fine and the drinks were nice too. However, Had I gone upstairs to use the bathroom before we had eaten there is no way I would have eaten there. The stairs are filthy the handrail looks like 100 kids have been up and down with filthy hands, there is a really dirty wall at the top of the stairs which looks like they have had a water leak. To be honest, I walked back down the stairs one foot at a time, there is no way I would put my hands on the handrail ,Its a shame because the food is ok but now it makes me wonder what it is like behind the scenes. I have been in contact with Head Office and environmental Health, a food shop should never be like that.

We are not wanting to rush back after overhearing the older male and female member of staff behind the counter bad mouthing customers, as well as experiencing their poor customer care. The older two members of staff need to revisit and relearn good customer care skills, like acknowledging customers on arrival and when leaving, and not being abrupt and discourteous when taking payment. A smile and eye contact goes a long way to showing you care. They are letting the place down as the younger servers are friendly but the older members of staff are not. They have a poor attitude towards their customers which is coming across loud and clear. Please remember that not all your customers are one off visitors. Some are locals and word will get round about your poor attitude and lack of insight into the importance of good customer care, and taking customers for granted. Just saying to help you see the error of your ways. Please be more kind, considerate, and humble. Thank you.

Stopped here with my mum and three young children whilst on a day out in Torquay. I was looking at the menu when a waitress came over and asked if we were ready and I politely said I'd need a few more minutes. I was shocked by her attitude, she actually huffed at me! When she finally returned to take our order it seemed as though it was too much like hard work. Pasties were reasonably priced but £6 for a small baguette was a ridiculous price. Food was ok but for the customer service we received, and the price, the food needed to be amazing. I wouldn't recommend and won't be returning when we visit Torquay in the future.

The meal was quite bland, I understand not every business has the facilities to cook fish from fresh but the chips could have been fresh/fried and the fish could have been better quality, it looked as if it was a value range from a local supermarket. The toilets also needed sprucing up.

Went to oggy earlier this month with my family for lunch, been going here for many years. Myself, brother and dad all had the pasty deal, the pasty was nice! Although playing hunt the chips was ridiculous!!! Must have been 8-10 on the plate. Also had an extra portion ordered, may as well not have bothered! Hardly covered the tiny plate and for £2.50 a go! Is the biggest rip off going. My mum had ordered the breakfast, which was stone cold! There were two tiny pieces of bacon on the plate that were supposed to be rashers. After eating a few mouthfuls and clearly not enjoying it! She took it up to the counter to complain that it was cold, instead of being greeted with an apology, all she got was rudeness...... "I've just cooked it" repeating this over and over. Then "well what do you want me to do? Put it in the microwave?" My mum decided against the breakfast and opted for the pasty deal. While sitting eating our meals we could hear it all being discussed and joked about, with the staff and customers alike. Never been made to feel so uncomfortable in any!!!! Establishment, all over something that could have been so easily rectified...... There's me thinking the customer was always right, maybe those days are gone. And to later learn that the man my mum complained to, is in fact the owner!!!! Well it's truly baffling! A course in customer services may be useful. Will never ever return!!!

I would have expected good pasties from this company but then again it's a chain so quality does lessen with mass produced food. Pasties were ok but lacking a little taste. Would have had a cooked breakfast but was a little frustrated when I couldn't swap the included tea or coffee which i do not drink, for a bottle of coke, when seperately, teas are £1.35, coffee is £1.60 and cokes are £1.30?!?! Nice cakes though. Had 2 medium pasty with chips, 2 cakes and 2 bottles of coke - £18.50. Make your own judgement on value.

I was very disappointed with the service today, the food, the hygiene and the overall general atmosphere of your premises. First of all we were rushed to place an order, I had only just placed my bottom on the seat and had not even taken my coat off before a gentleman had rushed over and was quickly asking me what I would like (bearing in mind there was a dirty table which needed to be cleaned opposite us which he could have quite easily have sorted before coming over to us as he was aware we had only just sat down and needed time to check the menu), I had not even looked at the menu yet and the man that served us (who I am guessing is the manager) was very rude and acted very impatiently whilst I scanned your undesirable menu quickly before ordering something that I had not even had time to read properly. Then when we were greeted with our drinks by a half-hearted waitress, who showed us nothing but attitude whilst serving us, she gave us glasses which were horrifically unclean which resulted in us not even drinking our drinks!!!! The same lady came over a few minutes later with our food which was SLAMMED down on the table with no words! She had mixed up the orders and had given my friend mine and I had received my friends order, the waitress had not told us which was which and put the meals right on the edge of the table where my friend could not even reach her food. When we went to pay we thought it was extremely overpriced for what it was considering my friend found strings of potato roots/shoots left in her chips and the fillings of the baguettes you could tell were very cheap and nasty, we were not even told your card machine had a 50p charge on it either! the staff working in their today (Friday 4th February 2016 at lunch time) were very rude and I will not be greeting the place with my presence AGAIN.

Felt as if from the minute we walked in, we weren't welcome. The waitress that served us didn't even look at us, let alone smile! When the food finally did arrive it was thrown down in front of us. The side salad was so tiny and lacking it might as well have not been there. The pasties were so peppery my nose was running! It was practically an assault on my tastebuds! Horrendous. Then when it came time to pay, the grumpy lady behind the counter that clearly thought she has more important things to do, took my card off me and used my contactless payment herself! Didn't even ask permission first! So not only did I not actually consent to the transaction, I didn't even see the terminal to know what exactly I was paying! Will not be returning!

I popped in to get a large steak pasty on friday at about 3:45pm, the cafe was empty and the two female staff members were cleaning. I waited at the counter for a while before even being acknowledged, and asked if they still had any large steaks left. The two women looked at the tray of pasty and had a brief hushed converstation, one held the tray and the other struggled to put a disposable glove on, and eventually picked one up and put it in a bag and asked for £3. I didnt think anything of it until I sat down in our staff room. The pasty was luke warm and completely fell to bits when I took it out of the bag. I ate it anyway as I had skipped lunch and didnt have the time to get anything else before starting work. About 5 hours later I had a sudden urge to use the toilet. Its saturday now and I have been on the loo 4 times. AVOID TORQUAYS OGGY OGGY. I recently visited paignton for a shopping trip and got a delicious spicy chickhen pasty from a lovely older lady in the victoria parade shop.

Bought six frozen steak pasties to cook back home. Although very tasty and really good filling and pastry, the steak was in one lump stuck together in the middle of the pasty. It would be five star if the meat was distributed throughout the pasty. All six were the same.

We came here on Saturday 19th September, and sat outside in the sun. We had two cokes and a pot of tea. The grumpy waitress brought out the drinks and managed to pour hot tea over my leg. No apology. Thanks for the scalding! We then ordered our food. One chicken mayo sandwich on brown, one toasted ham & tomato on brown, and two ham & cheese toasted on white. The chicken mayo came out correct, followed by two ham & tomato on white. When we explained that neither were correct, the waitress went "oh well I don't make them". We asked her to change them. She came back with a correct ham & tomato toasted on brown.. Well when I say toasted sandwich, it was toast with a slice of ham and tomato in it. Hardly a toastie. The two ham & cheese came out with tomato in them.. Again not what we asked for but we took it as we were hungry. Grumpy the waitress asked if that was right, and we said no but we'll just eat it.. Her response "well that's what you ordered". No it wasn't. Maybe if she carried a piece of paper and pen around with her then she might remember the order. Food was mediocre and that's saying something as how difficult is it to mess up four sandwiches?! Garnished salad was a bit of lettuce, a slice of cucumber, a slice of tomato and a load of red onion. Where's the garnish? I would not recommend this cafe to anyone. I looked for the grumpy waitresses name on a name badge, but she wasn't wearing one. Probably wise as she would get loads of complaints about her. Older blonde lady. She definitely needs to be trained in customer service if she wants to keep her job, and keep customers satisfied.

We visited the cafe looking for cream tea and light lunch options. The cafe was clean and tidy. The food was fast and tasty. We did only get one scone per cream tea when we expected two. It was very big, just something to consider.

Went into Oggy Oggy today as I had a craving for a pasty. I have a daughter who is a fussy eater but when I saw that I could get her a cheese baguette thought why not. The first thing I noticed was how miserable the staff where. We sat for at least 5 minutes before anyone came to take our order even though the shop was nearly empty. Can't fault the pasties one traditional for me and a cheese and bacon for the wife and the little one was happy with her cheese baguette. They all came with what was described as a side salad. Not good one slice of cucumber a slice of tomatoe lumps of onion and brown lettuce. This got left on every plate. Then it came to paying the bill, to say we were a bit shocked when it came to over seventeen pound is an understatement, and then when we had the cheek to question it we were basically shouted down. We were given a receipt, reluctantly, and this showed we had been charged £4.95 for a plain cheese baguette when a large Cornish pasty is only £3.95.In some places this might be acceptable but when they have a plate of plain baguettes in the shop window for 49p each it seems a bit much to then charge over £4.50 to cut a baguette open and put a bit of grated cheddar in it.The only reason this gets 2 starts is that the pasties were quite nice. I won't be going back.

I popped into Oggy Oggy in Torquay a few weeks ago for a quick breakfast and although the place is all a bit basic the breakfast was amazing good value. For £4.99 you get the following:Two eggs, Two bacon, Two sausages, Beans, Half a fresh Tomato toast with ham and butter in foil PLUS a pot of tea and a biscuit as well. It's all cooked to order and was really tasty. Astonishing value!

My husband had the scallops starter and would highly recommend. I had the pate which was very nice. The prawn Thai curry was very nice. Would recommend but advise you book

Came away bitterly disappointed. This was to be a 'milestone ' birthday treat. We were looking forward to a beautiful afternoon tea with a table covered with a crisp, white tablecloth, laidened with delicious teatime treats overlooking Torbay. The experience was nothing like we had hoped for. No one to meet and greet us upon arrival. We were initially ignored then directed, not shown, to a cracked brown formica table 'set' for us with two paper napkins, knives and forks and two glass tumblers, in a corner, away from the main dining area and the window. Eventually, we were approached by Heidi, whom we assumed to be restaurant manager. We asked to be reseated and a table was cleared for us. We were served a pot of tea for two and awaited our food. An hour later, we were still waiting. During that time we witnessed several disgruntled customers complaining. Although there were three waiters present, we did not receive any service or attention from them. After an hour, Heidi reappeared and was very apologetic. She offered us a complimentary glass of Prosecco. Our booking had been for 3pm. By now it was 4.30. The food arrived and like the tea table, was nothing like we were led to expect. The sandwiches were not as described on the menu. Some of the fillings were spread so thinly that they were difficult to identify. The pastries were missing. The cakes were not the patisserie style fancies shown in the promotional pictures, but more like traybakes cut into different sized chunks and didn't seem particularly fresh. Our teapot was refreshed and we were given new cups and "saucers", which turned out to be side plates. Heidi did try to make us comfortable, but by that time, all hope of enjoying our afternoon was lost. We did ask a waiter for a box to take our cakes away but were told "We don't do boxes" and we're directed to a pile of paper napkins and told to help ourselves. The three saving graces are; At £25, it wasn't the most expensive afternoon tea. I would have paid more for a first class experience. Heidi did her best to keep customers happy, with what appeared to be very little support from her colleagues. Whatever the Imperial are paying her, it's not enough. The one thing that the hotel did deliver on was the magnificent view, but I give the Imperial no credit for that whatsoever. Lastly, I sent an email to the Imperial later that day, and to add insult to injury, now, almost a week later, have had no response. NB. Pictured - what the Imperial's advertising led us to expect. NOT what we got !

Returned after a couple of years to fine a beatifully refurbished bistro overlooking Torbay (ok it was misty) with a extensive menu. My confit duck leg was the best meal I've had for years and the seafood platter was equally good.

A easy place to get in to and plenty of space to move around on my mobility scooter. Both staff were very friendly and the pub had a good atmosphere. Drinks were cheap
