I took a widow seat and watched the world head off to work. Latte was gorgeous, bacon sandwich lovely too! Thank you!

Well worth a visit to this neat and tidy little coffee shop. Staff super friendly and the food all cooked fresh. Quick and efficient service.

I was visiting Shrewsbury and wanted to get some lunch so I tried Off The Square. I had a chicken salad and a couple of pots of tea and did not have long to wait for my food. They have free wifi and the staff were friendly and helpful. They also allow dogs. There was a really nice atmosphere. Recommended

It had many good positives such as friendly and polite staff, well cooked food and comfortable seats. Also it is in a nice secluded location.

Off the Square Coffee Bistro is just of the main market square - hence the name. A warm welcome with sofa seating and tables screened of. Order at counter and then bought to your table. Great cinnamon scone and Tea cakes. Would def recommend.

Lovely old fashioned cafe, very welcoming and lovely food ( we went for breakfast) with free biscuits and a dish of water for our pooch.

We have had coffee and the odd bite to eat here a few times historically. It's not the biggest cafe in town and does get quite busy at key times, therefore you may not always find seats available.Our experience is that the food is fare for the price and the coffee is reasonable.For our most recent visit we had x2 filter coffee's, a ham and cheese and a cheese and pickle panini.Both panini's were well packed with there respective fillings.The staff have always been polite and helpful.

As I had never visited this cafe I decided to pop in for a quick cup of tea & some cake. I enjoyed my cuppa while I was able to sign in to their internet! There is a good menu for snacks & cakes as well as beverages. There is a choice of seating, either at the table, or on a comfortable couch. The loo was nice clean, although a bit "tired". A handy place to meet friends!

My sister and I went into this bistro early last Saturday morning and enjoyed delicious mochas and teacakes. We desperately needed to find a taxi to take us to an appointment at a skin cancer clinic and tried numerous firms without success. One of the customers, Pete "the painter", went home to fetch his car and drove us to the clinic. Another customer, a lady, also offered to drive us there. If these are the type of customers who frequent this lovely bistro we'll certainly be visiting more often.

We were looking for somewhere for lunch and were pleased to find Off The Square Bistro we had a goats cheese salad each which was a delicious fresh and tasty salad with lovely warm goats cheese on top. This is a friendly well run little bistro.

Very welcoming cosy cafe. Lovely coffee and toasted teacakes. That was our first visit and we decided to come back for lunch! We weren't disappointed. We had the all day breakfast which was very quickly served and was delicious. The cafe has a very friendly feel and we will be back next time we are in Shrewsbury.

We had a really enjoyable visit to this lovely dog friendly bistro run by some lovely people & serving delicious food - we both had the chilli. It was a nice touch bringing dog biscuits over in special doggy dishes!

Called in here for breakfast/snacks a few times now when we visit Shrewsbury. Always very friendly and good food at reasonable prices. Veggie breakfast is excellent and well cooked, coffee is good and on our last visit my wife was impressed that time was taken to check that her toasted teacake was to her liking and not too well done! It's clearly a place where customers are valued and we will call in next time we're visiting the town.

We found this lovely cafe after being refused lunch at St. Mary's Church cafe because we had our dog with us. The welcome we received at Off the Square was fantastic. We both had bacon sandwiches for lunch and they were delicious. One of the ladies also brought treats for our dog. It was fabulous - thank you!

Lovely small Bistro. Very friendly staff. My wife had Quiche & I had the Sausage, caramelised Onions & Cheese. We both enjoyed it very much. Another little gem placed in my memory & will definitely eat here when next in Shrewsbury

Went in for breakfast on a shopping trip to Shrewsbury we were very impressed by the service,. The staff were pleasant and efficient we had a full English breakfast which was well presented and hot well done will definitely visit again really good value

Staff were polite and service was quick, they asked if our dog was allowed treats and bought her over 3 dog biscuits in a cute dog bowl which was a nice touch. The paninins were nice enough.

I found myself unexpectedly fancying a Panini at 4 o'clock one afternoon in Shrewsbury. I recalled this cafe off the square. Emma, the proprietor, was very pleasant in providing a delicious Panini to order. The cakes always look good and there is a very nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Stopped off for lunch whilst shopping in Shrewsbury and first time visitor to Off The Square. Didn't want to do the usual chain lunch stops and this was a real find. Great choice and reasonable prices in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Well worth a stop.

As a regular visitor to Shrewsbury, I'm shocked I haven't been here before. What a wonderful place. Jovial helpful staff, and a range vegetarian and dairy free opinion. Will be back . The picture shows what is left of my breakfast!!!

The cafe was lovely and traditional. Staff were so friendly and chatty, nothing was too much effort for them. The homemade cakes were delicious, highly recommend the Jaffa cake slices. Coffee is great also and really generous portions of everything for good prices. It's right in the middle of town too.

We spotted this dog friendly cafe just as we were thinking of lunch. Very nice, friendly staff. My husband had a sausage & cheese panini with salad & I had a baked potato with goats cheese & sweet chilli, unusual but delicious & it came with a generous salad. Lovely place & if we are in Shrewsbury again will certainly go again. Our dog loved it too.. Also very reasonable priced.

This is a welcome spot to refresh after a walk into town with our dog! She even got free biscuits which she wolfed down in seconds! We had tea and toasted tea cake, yummy! Prices very reasonable too...

We were in Shrewsbury for a the day and were looking for somewhere for a light lunch. We came across Off the Square Coffee Bistro and decided to give it a try. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Looking for somewhere in Shrewsbury that is reasonably priced with a good menu, friendly staff that is very cosy and VERY DOG FRIENDLY (dog given biscuits on a plate) you must visit Cafe off the Square.

My Mum, sister and I visited the cafe following a bridal fitting. We were very hungry and wanted somewhere we could relax and chat. The service there was great; the girls were polite and helpful. The drinks were presented well and the food was a really tasty!! They had run out of bacon but substituted ham which was fine with us. The cafe had a relaxing feel and was busy but did not feel packed. Overall a lovely atmosphere, caring staff and filled our tummies satisfactorily!

My friend and I meet at Shresbury every few months and this cafe is our meet up venue as we both live in different towns, where we start the day with a lovely pot of tea and toasted teacakes. It's a small cosy cafe where we have always found the staff to be very helpful and welcoming. The service is good and it is very relaxing as they have sofas as well as the usual tables and chairs and we have never felt rushed to leave. See you soon!

This is a really friendly place which we found when out visiting Shrewsbury on a freezing cold day. The soups were very tasty and our dog was welcomed with treats. What a nice touch.

Meeting up with parents in Shrewsbury, I had to find somewhere for lunch that allowed dogs. Reading the reviews off the square looked suitable. I phoned on our journey over to see if we could book a table for 5 with a dog with only an hours notice. Spoke to very friendly staff who said ‘of course’. After a wet walk in the quarry we arrived at the cafe with a very dirty dog but received a warm welcome with our table waiting for us. The food was just what we needed, great sandwiches, baked potato and a full English breakfast. Mum and Dad who are local had not been here before but said they will be returning and so will we when we are back in Shrewsbury.

Have some serious allergies. Very scary and nervous about eating was out Made to feel very welcome nothing was to much trouble, I had one of the best lunches I have had out. Would highly recommend this little Cafe/Bistro to all who are visiting Shrewsbury town center. Will certainly visit again in the future.

This is a delightful little cafe and I also see that it is dog friendly, that doesn't happen very often. Prices are reasonable and staff very friendly with waitress service. Americano comes with hot milk so stays warm longer. Toasted teacakes are great.

Had lunch with my partner and our pet Basset Hound... The BLT was very nice, as was the all day breakfast. As a bonus, the dog got some tasty treats on the house. Highly recommended restaurant.

Went here on Saturday, Had a coffee and a slice of lemon cake. I asked for an extra shot in my cappuccino. It was a young girl making the coffee and I knew she wasn't paying attention and sure enough when our two coffees arrived she had put it in my wife's Americano. She a simple thing but beyond some people. The cake was excellent and saved the day. All said still better than Starbucks or costa and nicer surroundings.

We had a breakfast, everything was microwaved and tinned mushrooms!! The only good thing was the toast. I expect for £6 something alot better.

What a find. A very busy cafe but organised and the staff were very efficient and friendly. The food (we had paninis) were very tasty and there was a good selection to choose from. It was our first visit but both agreed we would go there again.

With a few days staying in Shrewsbury, we didn't want to miss looking around the town, and the best start to the day is breakfast. We found this little Café - bistro that looked clean and welcoming - and it was. The standard breakfast for under a fiver is great value, freshly cooked and well presented. The staff are friendly, and willing to get you more if you want it. Can only highly recommend this as your starter for the day.

This little coffee shop is just right for either coffee and cake or something more. There is a varied menu, light lunches, snacks on toast and excellent home cooked favourites like chilli con carne! Service was prompt and attentive. Just the place to meet before the cinema or tackling the shops!

Nice quaint little cafe at the back of the square. Portions very small, I feel they try to 'fob you off' by adding a lot of salad and a few plain crisps. Prices are high for what you get, shame as menu is good. Good to sit and eat, decor updated every so often.

I visited this establishment this morning with my son, his partner, their baby and Spaniel. I can't rate it more highly as the staff, the service, the food and the treats for the dog were all exemplary and at an extremely reasonable price. Very surprised that it did not seem to be more popular, although that was to our benefit. Again, wonderful service and value. Thanks to everyone there for an outstanding experience. Will most definitely go back.

Returned to Off the Square for light lunch after trip to town.

A sign saying they accepted dogs was our invitation to go in with our Spaniel. It was friendly and relaxing and the food was good what more could you want.

My husband called into the Tourist information (as we are not from this area) to ask about dog friendly cafes, they were quite unhelpful and did not mention this café approx. 50m away from them, that my husband had inadvertently missed!

This is the most friendly café in Shrewsbury, much better than the big chain cafe's. Staff are really friendly and helpful, make everyone welcome. Lovely coffee and the food is very good. Well worth a visit.

Lovely staff who had a chat to both new customers and on first name terms with regulars. Coffee most defiantly the best in Shrewsbury and very well priced. Food was also lovely (warm soup and a very nice bacon sandwich!) Will most defiantly be visiting again soon and would recommend!

had another visit here, husband had a lovely breakfast i had a very tasty scone,staff were friendly as usual.always clean and tidy, would recomend to anyone.

We have visited this venue several times before and have always been satisfied with friendly staff, nice soup and toasties and nice toasted teacakes and drinks. However today we visited for an all day breakfast. What a disappointment. Poor quality food including inedible sausage, scrambled eggs which had obviously been overcooked, congealed baked beans, tough toast. Managed to eat the tomato and lukewarm bacon and the tough toast. Tea was not very warm. We were approached when plates were collected and asked if everything was okay. As there were quite a few other customers in the cafe we did not wish to embarrass the staff by telling them the truth. We were also approached on settling the bill but the same reasons for not saying were the same. Too many other customers within close proximity. Hence we will NOT VISIT again. We are OAPs and go out on Saturdays for a treat.

Found this place by accident and glad we did. Traditional cafe serving all day breakfasts, paninis , jacket potatoes and suchlike. Cakes looked delicious but we were full from our meal. Lovely food and waitress was very polite.

The food is home-cooked, fresh and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is friendly and personal - I must make special mention of how very kind an accommodating the staff were to an elderly person who needed a bit of extra help. Patience and kindness go a very long way.

Called in for some lunch during a day sightseeing in Shrewsbury. My partner was very pleased to see the all-day breakfast on the menu! I had a panini with bacon, brie and cranberry and our 3 year old son had cheese on toast. All our food was delicious and devoured! Had traybake cakes for afters which again were very good.

Having been here before for lunch which was very tasty, today we went for coffee & cake. Although the staff were tidying up & mopping floors ready for closing time, we were given a warm welcome. It was nice to sit back, relax & be waited on. The coffees were really nice & we couldn't resist a slice of flapjack & millionaires shortbread. Reasonably priced food & drinks menu. Would strongly recommend this little gem of a cafe. Staff polite & attentive. Although we courteously finished our drinks & left at 4pm closing time, we were assured my the manager that there was no rush for us to leave. Customer service excellent. Thank you ladies. X

Seeing Shrewsbury with friends who live here, popped in for lunch. Food was great, excellent value, lovely, friendly, polite staff. Will definitely be going there again.

Just had a fantastic all day breakfast. If you love bacon, this is the one to have. My poached eggs were cooked just how I like them. The staff are brilliant, and the atmosphere was so friendly and cosy. And to make the meal even better, they have lovely large cups for coffee. Nothing is stingy at this place - give it a go.

On one of the coldest, wild April days in this chilly month, we blew into the Off the Square Coffee shop in central Shrewsbury and were warmed by the genuinely friendly greetings from staff. The displayed a tempting array of home baking, carefully covered in glass domes, but we felt the need for savoury, sustaining food. We enjoyed a generous portion of pate, toast and salad + a delicious bacon, cranberry and brie panini, again with mixed salad, freshly prepared for us and with a light dressing. We called in on the off chance for breakfast on Sunday and the breakfast was awesome. I would say it is better than any of the chain pubs and venues. The service was friendly and attentive to our needs, the breakfast was cooked to perfection with amazingly well cooked poached eggs and the all day breakfast was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!

Visited this Cafe for the first time yesterday morning for breakfast. Can't recommend enough great choice very reasonable prices and 2 lovely ladies working there. Quiet and adorable, the hot chocolate wasn't too sweet, just perfectly chocolaty with delicious foam. I was allowed to bring my small dog in, but only onto a small table near the exit, not on the sofa or nicer wood table, which is completely understandable. Overall great place for a pop in coffee.

I live in this town, and it's where I like to go for a coffee or snack while I'm in town. Excellent cafe food, good value, great town centre location, efficient and courteous table service. All you need, really.

I frequently visit this coffee shop and am always greeted by friendly staff who are always helpful. Best cappuccino in Shrewsbury although on this visit my friend tried the luxury hot chocolate with cream, marshmallows and chocolate sprinkles which looked amazing!!

I visit the cafe regulary sometimes with friends and other times with my husband who has a breakfast which he always enjoys,i also take our grandaughter there we are always made to feel welcome.

I had previously had an ok visit here. Today I took my other half and wish I hadn't.

Made to wait after the messed up first order no apology served bacon sarnie when order lasagna then had to wait again for second meal which was a breakfast with scrambled eggs or at least that's what they called them tasteless watery bland burnt sausage well one side was and bacon thin cheap rubbish

We had an early swim in the Quarry pool and needed food, I ordered poached egg on toast. I received not one but THREE beautiful poached eggs on toast, and I devoured them. Delicious and perfect,washed down with a pot of tea. Really excellent service too, and service with a smile.

We came in for a coffee and cake and were instantly greeted by members of staff. Even though it was the lunch time rush, staff were attentive and the atmosphere was warm.

This is a nice little café, good location, friendly and efficient staff, but beware the canned soup! It isn't difficult to make a delicious homemade leek and potato soup but Off the Square dishes up a tinned gloopy canned version with no taste for £4, a complete waste of money. They had also run out of brown bread by lunch time for sandwiches yesterday, I would think since the market is across the road it can't be too hard to go and get some. Unfortunately this was our first and last visit.
