O'Connors Irish Pub in Chelmsford

I sometimes stay with my Son just around the corner and wanted to watch some football. Had to wear mask obviously until I got to my table with table service. I saw a young lady wandering around at the bar without a mask and I brought it to the attention of the Landlady who immediately dealt with the situation. She was running around cleaning tables and at the same time monitoring everyone to make sure they were following the Government rules.Well done to the Landlady - I will be back !!

Went for a pint after voting in the European Elections nearby. Dogs are allowed in the Polling Station but not in the beer garden of O'Connors according to the very grumpy barmaid. Pathetic!

I treat myself occasionally by popping into O’Connors. It has a really nice old world vibe while still being very clean and modern. There is a wide selection of beers and spirits plus a nice courtyard outback with plenty of seating

I am never one to write reviews but I feel compelled to. I went in there with two friends for a drink Saturday evening. Firstly, we thought it was a bit off that we had to pay for the outside heaters. Secondly, upon leaving the pub after a couple of drinks, the barmaid ran down the road after us and accused us of stealing a gin glass, we were completely and utterly shocked, even offered our bags for her to search but she quickly said she believed us and ran back to the pub. Not once did we receive an apology for being accosted in the street and accused of being a thief. We were absolutely disgusted with the treatment from the staff! It’s a shame as it is a nice cosy pub but our experience was completely ruined by the appalling attitude of the bar staff. We certainly won’t be returning!!

Visited this pub today at 3pm! Have visited before and that’s why we went back! Beautiful flowers in the beer garden. On this visit the barmaid was very rude! Would not visit again! And would not recommend! Plenty of pubs to use in the area which are great!

Great place for a drink comfy bar were everyone is welcoming and you feel really relaxed really friendly

Visited this pub last summer with my wife and was impressed enough to return with friends this afternoon with friends. Still a nice enough pub but unfortunately spoilt by a barmaid who is obviously not very happy in her work and has a very rude attitude.

This is a hidden gem great meal great staff and VERY friendly We enjo going to this place it feels so comfortable and you are made to feel special

Good televisions if you want to watch the footy. Good choice of drinks. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Loved it.

I had a lovely home made steak pie and chips here today, beer is always good and staff are always friendly.

The beer garden has recently had an update. It is now one of the best looking beer gardens around. It is full of spring flowers and amazing colours.

All the staff and especially the land lady Margaret were so friendly and welcoming. Great pub and atmosphere. Can't wait to visit again. The shots are amazing !!!!!

Had a stilton broccoli soup and a jacket potatoe, very fair prices and it was tasty, too! Service was very nice, place is well maintained and cosy.

Visited the pub for a Wednesday lunch, very relaxed and excellent space with a fireplace. The service was very good an quick. Good food, the soup of the day was an amazing broccoli and blue cheese cream. Highly recommended

Had the lasagna (which was delicious), and came with some of the softest best made chips I've had in a long time. Nice little pub, with a decent beer selection, an excellent outdoor area, and fantastically friendly staff. A really nice locals joint!

Absolutamente genial poco pub irlandés en el corazón de Chelmsford. Ha sido varias veces y lo hemos disfrutado una y otra vez. Las bebidas a un precio muy razonable, me encanta los calentadores fuera (aunque tienes que pagar por ellos. . Que vale la pena! Yo suelo beber) como fuera. Se lo recomendaría a cualquiera!

After much persuasion from friends I decided to visit this rather quaint venue and I was not disappointed. The moment you step through the doors you feel as if you have jumped off a plane and are right in Dublin. The whole atmosphere is very welcoming from the customers to staff and makes you feel part of something magical. It offers a good range of food and there is lots of sitting areas. The pub offers one of the best pints of Guinness in this green land even st patrick would be in awe. It also has one of the best toilet designs in Essex with a excellent water flow from the taps. All in all if you want to relax after work, escape from the nagging gf or want to watch a sporting event with chums this place is very good

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Mixed age of people which adds to the great atmosphere. Various drinks to choose from and lovely outside courtyard.

I haven't eaten here (ok, I've eaten crisps and peanuts) but O'Conners makes for a great boozer in the best part of town for such things.

Good for a Fri/Sat night beer with mates or to watch a sporting evening such as the World Cup etc. Had a great NYE here once also - very nice local's atmosphere.

Great lunch menu during the week with a varied specials board. Friendly staff, fab duke box and beer garden. Gets busy at weekends, has a great selection of drinks. Suitable for couples or groups of friends.

Great pub, lovely staff. It is very clean and serves a great selection of drinks. When the beer garden is complete in the summer months with the many potted plants its a delight to sit in the beer garden. The homemade Irish stew is fantastic. I have tried various meals on the menu and they are all served quickly to a great standard. One of my favourites!

This could be a great pub, but for the premium we pay on our drinks it would be nice to have the fire on and some heating. If I wanted to sit drinking in the freezing cold I could buy a six pack and sit in the park for quarter of the price

Lovely little pub, tucked down a side street just off of Moulsham street. I've visited a few times now, the staff are very friendly and the pub is a really nice cosy place to be if you want to sit and relax for a few drinks.
