Ocean Fish and Chips —PEMBURY in Tunbridge Wells

I was really looking forward to sausage and chips, and mushy peas so as I was passing I thought let's try Well I wish I hadn't the sausage was not of any quality and over cooked but yhatvwas not the worst of it the chips were absolutely disgusting not even my 2yr old grandson who eats anything would have more than a bit of 1 and even put yhe other half back on the pile of chips they were like Iceland own brand chips that had been cooked and re-cooked then left in the hot area to go all mushy and soggy it was so bad I actually went without eating that night apart from the mushy peas but you cant go wrong with them open the tin and heat up and will not be recommending or revisiting this chip shop again I will stick my regulars in highbroom and st John's the people who have rated this above 2 star need to get out of the village and try other chip shops as if all experiences are like mine it was not edible (maybe I went in on the wrong day it was a Friday about 7ish

The place is a great place, boss and the staff really friendly - travelled about 20 miles for it, great prices for food that's worth more 🔥

On Friday 12th July 2024 I was charged £6.80 for A chicken and mushroom pie and a small portion of chips.

tonight I had a large fish chips and Irish curry it was absolutely delicious a large fish was very big and it was very tasty would I come again definitely yes 10 out of 10 for cooking and service

Lovely fish and chips, the portions were huge and we only got a regular size. Haddock was crispy and chips were tasty. Reasonably priced.

Very nice staff and great customer service. In my opinion chips could have been cooked longer as they tasted soggy for the second time, burger had too much sauce and tasted more like bolognese sauce than ketchup.

Food always excellent and really good value for money. Not our local but we'd rather drive here then use our local chippy.

The best fish and chips in Kent . We have been going here for 21 years and never ever disappointed. We call order and collect in 20 minutes . Highly recommend these wonderful people and their fine fare.

Chips are fine, can't eat anything else on the menu but friends and family enjoy it. Queuing system is a tad baffling - seems to be a VIP queue arrangement for some people.

Well what can I say best fish and chips around I usually use paddock wood chip shop well never again food was still hot when I got home staff were really freindly and as for the cod it was more like a shark that's what I expect when you ask for large cod not like when you ask for large cod from certain chip shop mention no names you end up with cod like a gold fish totally recommend 100% see you again soon 😋👌

Me and the wife tried these guy's for the first time Saturday afternoon..both agreed it was perfect ..the batter was crispy,cod was moist flakey not to greasy..and the chip's..just as you remembered them when you was a kid.... delicious...😁

Very disappointing. Chips were pale and flavourless, fish was inedible. Smelled very strongly, indicating it was not fresh and with batter removed it showed very brown in places. Horrible flavour.

Friendly team, very popular shop with locals and passing trade. Parking nearby can be tricky as on main road. Large fish and chips is big enough for two to share really...huge portion! £10 so not a cheap takeaway anymore. Fish was freshly cooked; fish was excellent however batter very greasy. Needed time to drain off more.

We work for a belting company in Birmingham called Chiorino UK.... We were passing thru Pembury due to traffic and accident in the area. We were stuck in traffic decided to take a detour and fanced... Fish and chips and Google map found ocean fish and chips 10mins away..... We parked up.. Went in.. Absolutely best fish and chip we have ever had....... Great service...... Really nice people..... Thanks. Lads.

A clean and professional takeaway chip shop. Chips cooked really well and batter on my fish was crisp and super tasty. Was served promptly and even though it was extremely busy, my order soon seemed to be ready. Well done Pembury chip shop. Will definitely visit again when I visit Kent again!!!

What has happened this used to be really nice, not sure if it has had a new staff turnover but it is not for the better! ordered at 8pm on a friday, portions were so tiny and food was stale and not very nice at all, we will not be returning.
