If you don't want a pub this probably the nicest place open in Grantham on a Sunday. We will be back. Clean, spacious, nice staff, yummy cake.

This has to be the best coffee shop in Grantham! We were welcomed immediately and when I asked if we could come in with a dog, we were welcomed again! It’s a great space: sit indoors, or outside under a roof or fully open air. We just wanted a coffee but we’re tempted by a pain au chocolate and carrot cake. My pain au choc was warmed and delicious. The carrot cake, we discovered, was a family recipe. Not to be missed. And our dog was not left out: she was brought her own biscuit. We left feeling part of a great family. Go and enjoy!

We come here a lot as my little boy loves it. The food is great, can be a little hit and miss. Some days seem better than others. We love the friendly staff and the apple cake is delicious. The only thing that puts me off coming is the high chairs- grubby and not very safe- I am petrified little girl will fall out- cheap ikea chairs would be a good replacement. Also they have a changing mat but no where to put it apart from the floor- who wants to change a baby on a public toilet floor?

I like this place but it has a serious issue with food. The decor is nice and the owner is too, the coffee is the best in Grantham. We stopped eating here, not because the food is bad but because it takes forever, if it comes at all. The running of the kitchen is a major problem. I’ve frequently seen people walk out after a hour or so of waiting and today my son and I did the same, after waiting 50 minutes for a bacon roll. The cafe was only a third full. There is a sign saying “this isn’t fast food and it’s cooked fresh”, I don’t mind waiting for freshly cooked food but this sign is being used to cover the sins in the kitchen. It needs a proper chef and until that happens the food will be a major problem. It’s so frustrating as it could be great.

2 of us went for Sunday Brunch. We were the only 2 people in there and it still took about 10 minutes to get served. Staff don’t seem to be educated on what food is gluten free and what isn’t. A couple of tables left before even ordering anything. I can see why the cafe a few doors down is packed. The breakfast was very poor, not tasty at all, the eggs were especially bad quality (very rubbery and artificial). Will not be returning.

Visited here for lunch on a Saturday, as we do every couple of months, have to say today was a big disappointment for us. It was busy as usual, they do have a sign up saying " we are not fast food, so in busy times there may be a delay" which we know. However, today we waited 50mins for a sandwich and salad, we were not informed of our wait whilst ordering. The girls do work hard but there never appears to be someone actually in charge. Once we got our food, the actual bread of the tuna sandwich was hard and cold ( it's normally so soft, Hambleton bread) but as we had waited so long and by now were hungry, there was no chance we would send it back! Will we return, probably, but not for a while, there are plenty other places in Grantham to visit.

Entered the cafe, first sign on wall, if you have any allergies or dietary requirements speak to our staff. Waitress came over my husband ordered the breakfast, I asked could I have a vegan breakfast? Sure was what I got back we ordered a pot of tea and a cappuccino with oat milk. Both arrived only issue was the ‘vegan’ one had fried egg and halloumi on it, I said to the same waitress, I asked for vegan and pointed to the egg and halloumi, she then said we don’t do vegan breakfast (why not say that when I was ordering) she went on to say I can take the egg and halloumi off but then you won’t have much. She really didn’t grasp the request of a vegan meal, she was totally unhelpful and quite argumentative. My husbands breakfast wasn’t the best for some reason the mushrooms were cooked with an abundance of dried herbs which really wasn’t pleasant. Ended up an expensive waste of almost £26, we won’t be going back.

My wife and I wanted a nice breakfast and as I hadn’t tried this place before I decided to try it. It was almost empty on a Sunday morning and when I saw the price of breakfast I thought it quite expensive at £9-95. In any case we both ordered breakfast, it took an eternity to come even though no one else appeared to be ordering hot food. When the breakfast arrived it looked very unappetising. Dark baked beans which apparently were “homemade “ no mention of this on the menu. They were sweet and tasted awful, we both left them. A mountain of black tasteless mushrooms, a fried egg both of which were hard not runny and also poor quality bacon and sausage. £25-20 for two coffees and by far the worst breakfast both of us have ever had. We are local and won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

My wife took me here for lunch on my birthday. Grantham has seen better days, and the high street looks a little tired. But this little bistro is different. so seek it out. It does not have a manufactured atmosphere, it is not full of loud bright young things sitting in a dimly-lit darkly-decorated room. It is bright, clean and refreshingly airy. The food is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. We had a soup and a half sandwich and a coffee all delicious and all for a price that did not break the bank. The new layout is good and the menu is much smaller. Unfortunately we saw a girl behind the counter putting her hands in her mouth and then running her hands through her hair, before continuing to make toast. I had a Chorizo and manchego sandwich was dry with huge wedges of cheese in. Parts of the salad that came with it were brown. The bread was also so thickly cut I couldn't finish it all. However, my son had a halloumi and olive sandwich which he enjoyed, and my partner like his roast beef and horseradish sandwich.

Went for a late midweek lunch, so - after the lunchtime rush. We found dirty, uncleared tables; and lots of staff chatting behind the counter. Really average menu. Long wait for food, which really wasn't up to much when it did arrive. There's just no atmosphere in this new place and the management have just lost the character with the move to larger premises. Ironically, the deli counter is a lot smaller so there was less of a selection to catch the eye, as a take-away. The pictures heading this review are all from the old place - and I'd go back there like a shot. But no, we won't be trying here again.

She belittled her staff and was basically rude. I found myself giving support through a few words to the employee who behaved totally professionally while her superior basically snarled at her from the back of the prep area. Very unsettling so I'm still thinking about it a week later totally inappropriate. Will think hard before going again.

There are a few points that stood out to me:1. I was planning on ordering some pancakes for my wife and children. When ordering, I was advised the pancakes were quite large and it would save waste if I ordered smaller ones for the girls. This saved me money and meant they valued saving waste more than money.2. I had a bacon and egg roll. Not sure how but it was the best I've tasted. Cooked to perfection.3. Some lads were trying to cause trouble outside the cafe so the owner immediately went out and sorted it out resulting in a nice relaxing atmosphere. All in all, very much recommended and brilliant service with a smile. We had to wait 40 minutes which is a long time for a small cafe (was only bacon, eggs and toast so why so long!?) nobody came to apologise or check our food was okay. Customer service skills need to improve drastically. Also some extraction is needed as its so greasy, the table we sat on near the door had stuff peeling off the top which felt dirty. All the display products were covered in grease and dust, we came out smelling of fat and it was very smokey in there.Shame because its a nice location and small artisan cafe which grantham needs but i wont be returning.

We went here on spec. as there didn't seem much else appealing for lunch, as opposed to coffee & cake, in Grantham. Food quality was good with a hefty portion size and the overall surroundings very pleasant. There are no toilets (unless they are very well hidden) but are some nearby on the 1st floor of the shopping arcade. My main comment thought was at first we weren't sure it was open - an empty set of tables with all staff seemingly having a team meeting at the far end led us to wonder would we get served. We came back later and were not clear whether there was table or order at the counter service and the it was still empty. However once all this was sorted out staff very friendly and prompt service. However that initial impression is important, if we had found somewhere more obviously ready to serve us we may not have come back and it was interesting that people only started to come in once we were obviously eating there.

Being a complete coffee snob I only look for the best and this place hits the nail on the head. Delicious cappucinos and flat whites with extremely naughty chocolate sprinkles on top. My favourite part of the experience is the mini biscotti served on the side. Who doesn't love a nibble with their coffee and even more so when it's complimentary! They have a wonderful and varied range of sweet and savouries on sale as well as wine as far as the eye can see. A wonderful little place that I can't stay away from. Looking forward to my next visit already!

Have eaten in Oblio's a couple of times now and it has been excellent every time. Sandwiches made to order with the freshest ingredients picked from a great selection. Really fresh bread and great soup and specials. I really would encourage everyone to eat here if in Grantham!

We came for coffee to this cozy place located inside the George Shopping Centre. The atmosphere was warm, nicely decorated and a kind and diligent service. Their coffee, scones and sandwiches are very good. They have also nice salads and serve wine if wanted. Their delicatessen store is also very good. They have a variety of cheeses, some Italian goods as dried tomatoes, and others. Summary for the best option in Grantham, considering I have been at least to three very good places

Best cafe/bistro within 20 miles. The food is very fresh, cakes, sandwiches, healthy drinks, great coffee and the service is so friendly . Family owned and the service is spot on. If in Grantham, whilst there is plenty of competition, this is the place to visit.Whilst a bit more expensive than the others, it is well worth it.

This is a pretty good stop for lunch. The choice is huge and I couldn't decide as it all looked so good. They make the sandwiches there and then so I am quite sure you could have whatever you wanted if they had it in stock. All sandwiches come in half size too for the little ones. There is a good selection of 'deli platters' too and the cakes are great for afterwards! Slightly on the pricier end for lunch but think it's worth it.

visited today for lunchtime snack. I had hot sausage roll, my wife scone with jam and clotted cream and pot of tea for two. The food was good, prompt service with a smile. It's a lovely cafe full of home made produce....many jams, chutneys, cakes, savouries and the like....not only did we eat but left with a bag of goodies too. A super find.

This establishment stands out in the offers available in Grantham. The quality of the food puts it above most other venues and even though it is quite small it is very popular. The food is all prepared from scratch, none of this bought in tat, and it shows in the wonderful tastes. The owner is always prepared to have a chat and give you the benefit of his long restaurant experience in the states.Long may they continue to serve food of excellent quality.

Absolutely fantastic cafe and deli. The specials menu offers a wide and varied choice. I have visited about 3 times in the last 3 weeks and there has always been something appetising and different as a special. The standard menu is far and away above the normal cafe fare and they put their own little flourish and flair to the meals which makes this place a really special little find. Visit, eat, drink and you won't be disappointed.

Great I thought, open on Boxing Day and first visit since change of ownership. Unfortunately likely to be last and I will stick to the Picture Cafe. Sticky table and 20 minute wait for just drinks. Marshmallow was the only good thing. Not even a genuine apology for the wait!

I come here as a treat because it's about 6 quid a sarnie, but they sure are worth it. You choose from a deli counter and while they have some staple combinations for you to ponder, they can also make up your choice of sandwich. The bread is super fresh and comes from a local, well known bakery. It is hand cut, so it's a generous door step of a sarnie. Drinks and accompaniment are quirky and are as you'd expect from a deli selection.I always take out on my way back to work and they are friendly and efficient, not leaving you long to wait. It remains my treat/pick me up venue in Grantham

Every time I come here I think I don't come often enough. So many delicious options that the only downside is the difficulty of making a choice. The silver lining is that you'd never make a poor one. I cannot praise the place enough. A little treasure for Grantham.

Well we used to love going to this place, when it was under a different name.My partner & I went in for a bite to eat and it was awful...in my opinion! Our table was not only covered in crumbs but also sticky. My partner picked up a glass and what can only be described as gooey droplet was hanging off it. Put me right off, so much so I drank from a bottle of overpriced 'non alcoholic' cocktail. On the plus side, I ate pulled pork in a bun, which was very tasty. However the side salad looked like it was plopped on the plate straight out of a salad bag with no dressing - bland, boring & tired looking. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.Thankfully there are a fair few other eateries in the Grantham and we will definitely not be returning.

A good range of hot & cold lunch plates - jacket potatoes, quiches, soup & salads - as well as monster sandwiches on a range of breads. Sadly, not the range of cheeses which the previous management offered, but not bad.The cakes are very nice too, as is the coffee. The waiting staff are very smiley so go here for a pleasant, basic & relaxing lunch.

Everything is just deep fried. Sausages straight into the fryer then burnt to a crisp on the grill, black pudding straight out of the freezer into the microwave then deep fryer. Money touched then straight back to food handling. Disgusting waste of £14. Straight in the bin

Very friendly helpful staff. Nice location just across from Belton House which we also visited. Good selection to choose from. All the members of our family were very pleased with the choices they made. Will certainly return when next in the area.
