Went for Afternoon tea with friends. Great value, some of the freshest and most generously filled sandwiches I have ever had. Lovely fresh scones and a huge selection of cakes to choose from. Tea pot filled up as many times as you wanted. Called in the morning by Claire to confirm no allergies and advise on sandwich fillings, great service. All staff there were incredibly friendly. Highly recommend. Some lovely plants to look at afterwards and fed the amazing Koi Carp. Great venue for an afternoon out.

Nice surroundings and the food was good. Although not even half full, had to wait 29 minutes for our breakfasts. Portion size, quite small and quite expensive . We had the plant based breakfast with brown toast that should have come with plant spread but came with dairy butter. Had to ask for the toast as they forgot to bring it to the table either be good with the breakfast. Nice enough but not sure I would eat here again.

Used to visit the Cafe regularly. Prices were good, service was great and food came quickly. Well, all change. Prices have risen dramatically and the kitchen doesn’t seem to cope with a busy service. Recently ordered some toast and jam and discovered that you only serve one slice now. Why? Do you find this a good way of keeping custom? I know of no other cafe that has done this and from a customer’s viewpoint, it is not right. I also noticed that on a Sunday no substitutions can now be made for breakfast as again, the kitchen can’t handle it and probably the tills. Think again. Service can take over 45 mins for your order to appear. If u are that busy on a Sunday ,plan ahead. You might say that lots of people come there and they do because we British never ever complain (except this one).

At first I thought it was a lovely little cafe to go too after visiting the aquarium, as never been in it although always went past, but unfortunately this will be my first and last ever time going!! The food wasn’t as high standard as you would think from the pricing… we had ordered over £60 of food and drink it wasn’t just a drink we had brought. I had my young children with me unfortunately my one year year-old had chucked some food on the floor like children do and a small lady guessing the boss walked around the corner made a big sign and huff although we was still eating and then walked off and started talking about my little girl making us feel very unwelcome instead of coming over she decided to make it very clear that she was not happy about the mess and that thier was other tables with food underneath them even after staff had cleaned around .. I felt that it wasn’t very hygienic with dogs around the food areas and up on tables… i understand it is dog friendly and I have dogs myself, but I feel that that thier trying to be the ritz in London and really thier not as I know we would’ve welcomed better thier than what we was here. Everyone is equal and this cafe makes you feel unwanted but happy to take your money.

So so cold at 9.45 people moaning, walking out, air conditioning working flat out. Breakfast just alright - apart from white chewy bacon and a sausage to play football with. . Don’t complain though you will get a stroppy answer from a little female.

Great food, great service. Not sure I can agree with the other reviews regarding the price! No it’s not as cheap as a grubby cafe or the Morrisons cafe but the value for money is 100% there. Lovely coffee, lovely breakfast order with some extra sides. Quick service with smiling and happy staff. 100000% will be back. After the amazing breakfast we were gutted that we could squeeze in a cake as they looked to die for! Spoke to the lovely manager who advise us we can take it home!! Yay! Would highly recommend

I have been going to this cafe since it was a tiny little cafe in the corner of the garden centre and always loved it. However…. After visiting today I think this will be my last visit. I took my mum for a light lunch of leak and potato soup with bread and a coffee each. The soup was delicious as was the coffee. When I got home, I was thinking about what I had actually paid for our lunch and was so shocked!!!! I consider £22.40 for two soups and tw coffees, rather pricey to say the least!!! I think “The Potting Shed” are confusing themselves with ”The Ritz” I am quite honestly disgusted with what I paid and will most definitely not be doing it again. So make sure you go armed with a bank loan when visiting!!!

This is the second time we've been to Oaktree Nursery for lunch. I was reluctant to leave this review as I wanted to keep it our secret, but that wouldn't be fair to them!!.. The reason we came back again was because the stonebaked pizzas are absolutely incredible! As well as this, there is a real "service with a smile" here too. Charlie on the tills is a delightful gentleman who made us laugh, and Claire was friendly too. Patrons should remember to reciprocate this by being kind back. There are some younger people working here who are honing their skills in the hectic and fast-paced environment that is hospitality, and they are trying their best, so be mindful that hurtful words do have an impact on them. Now, the coffee beans here are provided by a fantastic coffee roasters called "Grumpy Mule", so you can guarantee a nice coffee awaits you. The barista staff are very friendly too. My only criticism here is that the children's cooked lunch is a bit steep at £7.50, which does include a carton of juice, but only 2 chicken goujons - at this price we did expect 3. Thank you Oaktree, and we will see you again soon!

First time we have tried breakfast. Probably won’t be a second. Took so long to get our drinks that I thought our breakfast would arrive before we got the drinks. No danger of that as waited even longer for our breakfast only to be disappointed. Toast was only cooked on one side, the eggs were like rubber, the bacon was over cooked/burnt, the sausages whilst tasty were somewhat anemic and the beans were luke warm. They may well be ‘quality’ ingredients but need to cooked properly, especially if you are charging best part of £30 for two standard sized breakfasts with a drink.

A group of 6 friends we have meeting meeting here once a month for years . Six times a year we would celebrate a birthday for one of the group so after having bought lunch we would bring a small cake to have with our coffees to celebrate . We have been doing this for years ! On our last visit the manageress who we have never seen before told us we could not have our cake unless it was bought there ! They don’t sell small birthday cakes of similar size only desserts . She was quite unpleasant when we said we had been visiting for years and bringing a small celebration cake 6 times a year . Needless to say we have now found a new venue It’s a shame as the other members of staff are lovely and always so friendly

The coffee and food is really good however I can’t help but feel the 50 minute wait (regardless of the pre warn wait time sign that appeared on the counter which I could not recall being there when we ordered) was not acceptable.. I saw one family give up and assume asked for a refund, I asked twice about my order then a few more also enquired.. I can’t help feel that for such an unacceptable wait surely cook to order is not working and perhaps replace with a hot food counter? Too many tables / seating for the kitchen to cope with..

Love Oaktrees for brekkie and staff always so helpful. Unfortunately not our experience today with afternoon tea 😟 I confirmed our booking this morning but when we arrived nothing was ready, we couldn’t pay individually, the tea stands were bought out sporadically rather than altogether and we had to chase for the last one to arrive. Another minor irritation is you have one tea stand for two people, which is fine, but why serve 9 sandwich slices? The food was excellent but overall a rather disappointing experience versus what we usually have, and therefore expect, today.

Went in here not expecting too much really, they really exceeded those expectations. I had a Jacket Potato (dry, common theme) which was costing £6.55 and it had approx 2 Tbsps of filling so I went up and asked for a bit more. Person who I asked looked absolutely offended and was unable to give eye contact probably indicating the level of anger they felt. Extra was given but it kind of gave an incline as to what was going to follow. Unfortunately I didn’t think to take a picture of the Jacket, it was seeing the rest of the servings that I realised the Jacket wasn’t a sole mishap. Pictures provided show the rest of the absolute rubbish that came out of that kitchen. I’d be ashamed to serve that muck up and then charge the exorbitant prices. Girls serving to the tables were all good and happy to help, shame it wasn’t the same behind the counter. Obviously there was no point in complaining as demonstrated when I asked for a little more topping, £££ are what counts apparently! Naturally I won’t be spending my money in there again and will tell everyone I know how rubbish it was. So for the sake of a few Tbsps of food (in my case) and the general lack of a bit of effort, I’m sure when the crunch comes, your business won’t survive it.

Admittedly we expected a wait, it was going to be busy but 50 minutes a little too long I feel! By the time food showed up our drinks were either cold or finished. To top it off the order was wrong but to be fair was fixed very quickly. The portion sizes were smaller than we remembered as mine was served on a small plate. Just a very disappointing visit especially when having to keep a lively 7 year old amused when they are hungry. Overall we must say we won’t be returning as there are better value and smoother operations close by.

It was busy, we ordered two jacket potatoes and a child's meal. it took 25 minutes to arrive which was fair enough as it was busy. our meal arrived the potatoes were so cremated you could eat eat the skins and the inside of the potatoe so overcooked. We ate what we could of it and complained to one of the servers who said oh what table number are you and walked off. No apology or offer of something else or a refund. As I had my restless young grandson with us I could not pursue this as he had already had to wait a long time for the meal. Opens nice and early at 8am which is better than most in the area Ona Saturday. Reasonable breakfast options and prices with hot drinks. My only issue here is there there either scrambled eggs or bake fried eggs. Be good if they offered poached and boiled. Easy access for strollers and wheel chairs with no steps and very wide access. Plenty of parking and inside seating with some limited outside seating. Be careful in the summer as the area is under a plastic roof which can get stuffy even though they have heating and cooling vents. Bring a coat though as it can be blowy if you seat close to it. I just had to put a good review in for this cafe within the Oaktree Garden Centre that we visited today. Well set out with plenty of seating, although I suspect in the spring/summer it would be very busy! Service was very quick and the staff are more than helpful, they are an absolute credit to the place. We had the cream tea for 2, at £15 it's really good value and great tasting! 6 quarters of sandwiches each (3 different fillings), a slice of cake of your choice each and a huge fruit scone each (freshly baked by the delicious taste of it) with jam and clotted cream, plus 2 pots of tea (choice of other drinks too). I don't know how they make a profit for all of this!! We shall be back very soon to have this again or to try the other delicious sounding items on the menu, it will be a tough choice!!

This is a lovely place to eat with a decent menu, and some really nice food. Everything we have tried has been delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. Great little area for kids to play in that is clean and close to tables - round the corner so not disturbing other customers! BEST sausage rolls I have tried!

Unfortunately I felt ill when I arrived at the garden centre. The staff ensured I was looked after and insisted I sat in a wheelchair and sat quietly in the cafe until I felt better. They could not have been more caring, so I wil return another day to have a proper visit!

I visit this garden centre and therefore this cafe on a fairly regular basis and I have always had good food and drink. Today I went with my son for the express reason of is having breakfast together. We both chose variations on "The Full English".... they were happy to make amendments for us... no cooked tomato for my son, can he have mushrooms instead?, yes of course. I don't like my tomatoes cooked, again no problem. Toast offered was brown or white, perfectly acceptable. The food arrived in good time, piping hot and delicious. My coffee was great (latte) and my son had juice. This cafe is really very good indeed and I especially like the fact that you take a "reserved" sign and place it a table you'd like to use. Then you queue to order your food and give them your table number. No faffing about trying to find somewhere when you have placed your order, got coffee, have a tray etc. All cafes should do this. I'll be back there in the next few weeks for a look at the garden centre, a coffee and maybe just a little slice of that lovely looking cake over there.

Often had breakfast there which has been ok Lunch we choose fish and chips £8.95 not cheap but was terrible, all very dry , fish over cooked , no peas just a slice of lemon and tartare sauce , few chips chunky, nothing special and couldn't finish , felt had been cooked for a while , very expensive for what it was Wouldn't eat there lunch again

Am always coming here for coffee and cake and occasionally lunch. The menu is great and, being gluten intolerant, having a selection of delicious gluten free cake is amazing!

We were able to pre-book a table for 14, which I thought was good for a garden centre. We went to the counter in to order our breakfasts in our smaller family groups giving our different table numbers, however when the food was ready the waitress didn't know what table number the food was for and was walking round asking who had ordered the dishes. What's the point of giving a table number when you order! Most of us had the full cooked breakfast which was very tasty, however the sausages were rather pink for my liking. I did eat mine, and had no adverse effect. The staff were very friendly and offered us free second drinks as an apology for the confusion over serving our meals. Hopefully, they will be more organised the next time we try it.

On arrival I was introduced to the normal full of stuff type garden centre and went to find the cafe beyond. It looked new and fresh but a bit like the institutional type cafe and the service reflected the same. Clearly not enough staff to deal with clearing the tables (dirty tables are a pet hate of mine) and they were everywhere. They serve the usual breakfast and lunch menus with toasted items packaged and made up for you to take to the counter for toasting in the kitchen. They also had made up salads so you could pay at the till and not wait for the kitchen. Drinks are collected from the area where they are made and not brought to the table and the cutlery in a central point for help yourself. The food I had was good, scrambled egg and salmon and then opted for a piece of very moist and delicious carrot cake. It is okay but not special.

Staff are always friendly and use to enjoy coming here regularly for lunch. However since they have made the restaurant bigger the menu has shrunk and so have the quality and portions. What was always a defiantly going there experience for food has now turn to into maybe we might have a cup of tea experience. Can't knock the cleanliness though.

Place was clean and very welcoming. Booked for my sons birthday he's 9. Paul was especially fantastic, great teacher and very patient with the young ones learning. He was calm in situations and made sure the boys knew what they were doing to keep them safe. Thank you so much Paul (Bob) for the awesome time the boys absolutely loved the experience and can't wait to come back. Paul is a great asset to your team and should be awarded for his professionalism.

Just had Sunday lunch here and we loved it. Restaurant was busy and buzzy but the staff were still really friendly and efficient. The camembert was excellent as was my husband's pork belly roast. My fillet steak was a little overcooked but was very tasty nonetheless. It was our first visit but we will be back.

We stayed here as a stopover and it also happened to be my birthday. We had dinner in a cabana which was a lovely treat. The grounds are beautiful with a little pond. The service was friendly and fast! The food and drinks were all great quality. I was even treated tosurprise birthday desert! The room was lovely and clean. Breakfast in the morning was also well organised, lots of choice and enjoyed by all of us. We had a great time and would happily recommend.

Recently enjoyed lunch with members of a book group. There was a good choice on the set menu and the food was tasty and portions generous. The chef catered very well for one member with vegetarian/dietary requirements. Very welcoming staff and good value and service. Will certainly come here again.

Restaurant smells old. Service was really slow. Food was bad, but we were so tired it was eat or go hungry before sleeping in the Premier Inn. Car Park had many signs warning of Car Thieves Operate in this Area and Police Hotspot etc, I was genuinely a little nervous parking my car there.
