We didn’t book, just asked if they had a table free and were shown to a table in their bright and open restaurant area. It is, however, suggested that if going for something more (lunch, afternoon tea, etc) that a reservation is made in advance to ensure you get a table. The establishment is fairly easy to find being just of the road through Oad Street itself and has plenty of free parking. The exterior of the buildings hides a modern open well light interior courtyard complete with heated winter igloos (complete with their own music) and entrances to the Restaurant, offering breakfasts, brunch, lunches and afternoon teas, and Craft Shop. Their Brunch menu was good, not overly extensive and our order was taken by a friendly and informative waitress, though there is a fast-food style QR ordering system available for those who wish to use it and have a ‘smart phone’! The food ordered was apparently made on the premises and featured seasonal and local ingredients where possible and we considered it to be of good quality, well-presented and with decent portion being served. The Craft Shop itself offers reginal family business handmade crafts, homeware, gifts and includes a picture and bespoke framing service. In addition, just for the lead up to Christmas, there were various speciality businesses set up (in adjacent Iso Containers) offering various festive treats. I have no hesitation in recommending the Restaurant and would use it again should we be in the area and consided it good value for money.

Went for brunch on a Sunday morning, you get given a buzzer to wait. What was really frustrating is all the empty tables they won't seat you at as they work on food orders. Surely seat people let them order drinks and explain the wait on the food. The qr code ordering takes the personal touch away also. The food was very good but could have been hotter. Not really an excuse for food being just warm when the waiting staff don't look busy. Used to be such a lovely place over all the years I've visited but after the last visit feel it's lost its touch. Such a shame as they have so much to offer there.

We came here for a 60th birthday, myself and my friend and I booked a pod for 2 for afternoon tea. The pod was lovely, the food really was delicious, I couldn’t fault it at all and was so filling we were provided with a box each to take some home as couldn’t eat it all, which is something for me. The staff were attentive, polite and checked often to see if we needed refills or anything further and the only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is due to the booking process as I needed to ask questions and you can’t speak directly to the staff in the restaurant, the poor lady in the gift shop has to relay and take messages which is pretty bizarre. It took approximately 3 phone calls to find out everything I needed to ask and to also substitute one item of food as I completed the allergy section on the booking form and even on the day nobody had got back to me to provide an alternative. That part of the process just doesn’t work but as far as the food, the staff, the pod, experience on the day it was absolutely lovely.

3 stars too low, 4 stars too high. The whole place is let down by the dreadful COVID/fast food style QR ordering system. The staff are so lovely, but they are wasted, hanging around the kitchen to collect the food, when they could be interacting with customers. The food is good, the coffee is good. The soul is missing.

My mum and I visited today for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant works on a no-booking basis (which is a little frustrating in my opinion, I feel a booking system would work a lot better for both customers and staff). All staff are so friendly, and the restaurant is really lovely. We had two salmon bagels with sweet potato fries. The food is fantastic - super fresh, really delicious, and was brought out quickly. Really generous portions, too. I think the prices are super reasonable for the food and service. We would definitely return :)

I have been to Oad Street several times and always enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the shop as an added bonus. When we arrived we were asked to order via the QR code. Personally it took away the friendliness of the place, made us feel like we were at a fast food place however we have it a go. The menu is set out on tabs which isn’t so easy to navigate when you don’t know what you fancy. The old laminated menu style made it easier to view everything that was available to you rather than flicking between tabs. In all honesty I gave up as I couldn’t easily see what each choice included when trying you’re reading off of a small phone screen. We were not offered a hard copy menu. I completely understand things move forward but give people the choice. What was more annoying was staff were all stood at the desk waiting for food to become ready for service whilst we got stressed out using the new system! Purely because of this I won’t rush back. Considering it was 12.30 on a Friday lunch time in the school holidays the restaurant was more than half empty. Sometimes the personal service is the right way to go,

Over priced and over rated really really really slow/bad service. By looking at their social media, other social media reviews, and knowing people that have been married here we decided to attend for my birthday. We attended on Sunday 25th Feb, 3 couples, 6 people in total for celebratory brunch board £30 a head so £180 for all of us, bill was £220 after they'd added £20 service charge and we'd ordered lattes which apparently weren't part of the free tea and coffee deal that you get with the brunch. The service was so slow that in the 2 hours we were there 11-13:00 we had one round of hot drinks, despite it being unlimited tea or coffee and we also waited 20 minutes on arrival for the mocktails and bucks fizz, which was included. No one came over to our table, We were constantly having to ask staff in passing for whatever it is we wanted/needed such as condiments, etc. No one came to see if we wanted refills on our tea or coffee, the service was absolutely shocking. How they have the audacity to charge a 10% service charge is astonishing. The food wasn't anything special, and lacked in quantity, don't buy into the hype. It's not worth it. I personally will not be going back nor would I recommend.

Unsecure booking site. I called to make a booking for afternoon tea for a special birthday treat for my friend who was coming from Cumbria. I wanted to book a pod and had to do this on line but when I went on to do so I saw that the site was unsecure . I called the restaurant and asked if I could book over the phone but they said it had to be on line. I explained I didn’t want to put my bank card details on an unsecure site but they wouldn’t take the booking unless it was online. Not very helpful! If you want people to book you need to reassess your booking system. This day an age when we are all warned about online fraud!

Fantastic winter igloo afternoon tea We visited January for my 30th birthday afternoon tea in the igloo. The girls were so helpful, polite and attentive. The food was all delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by all, we will definitely return. The igloos are so cosy and comfortable, the painted flowers really help you to feel secluded. The children's afternoon tea was also delicious apparently and had a good selection.

Visited recently, to have Brunch. Despite many cars in carpark, there were tables available in restaurant. Personally I found the menu didn’t have that much choice. I am Gluten free, and I was looking for something suitable for Brunch. I settled for a poached egg/with a rasher of bacon. I hadn’t visited this updated facility since the change of ownership…lovely decor.

Lovely cafe, lovely staff but unfortunately the menu choice was a disappointment. We visited with my Mum and 93 year old Nan who has dietary requirements and the stomach of a small child. She asked for just a simple bacon sandwich and was told no sorry you need to have what’s on the menu and that she can have a bagel instead which is too much for her to eat. I asked if she could have something off the child’s menu and again told no it’s for under 12’s only. It’s not about cost but a 93 year old lady who wanted to each brunch with her family and enjoy her meal

The afternoon tea was ok but sandwich fingers bread was a bit dry the top tier layer didn't please was fancy little bits like brownies with rolo on top ive had afternoon teas before normally fancy cakes or Madeira sliced not brownies that kids eat was adequate cream and jam for our scones .. tea and coffee i thought £25 each was much to much then to top it my grand daughter was told as it was a sunday she had to pay extra £10 sorry but i won't be visiting again ..

Very nice food at a reasonable price and the servers are polite. It's just a shame that you have to wait so long for everything. 20 minutes waiting for a table, yet there were at least 5 tables empty. 20 minutes for drinks to arrive, 20 mins after we've finished drinks for our food to arrive. We we're told they were short staffed. That's a reason maybe, it's not an excuse. Sort of ruined the experience which is a shame.

Evidently popular destination. Food was good when we got served. Communication overall good as we had to wait a long time to get a table, over40 minutes. Would be handy to book for larger numbers as we were 9 people. Thankfully flexibility and common sense helped keep us looked after with drinks whilst we waited. Would go again if I knew I could have a timed seating.

Having been sat in a corner table, despite more central tables available, we awaited our order to be taken. After 20 minutes I went to the counter to be told it was table service and somebody would be over. Tea and brownies arrived. Both brownies, an apple crumble blondie and rolo brownie were dry, the tea cup was dirty and needed to be changed and insufficient milk for the tea. Nobody checked if everything was ok and I had to go and ask for more tea and then go to the counter to ask for the bill. The floor in the restaurant was dirty, the chairs were uncomfortable with tatty, dirty looking cushions. Having been here before the pandemic it was disappointing to see both the quality of the venue, service and food had deteriorated. A disappointing afternoon visit and I won’t be back.

Don’t get me wrong if it was rating purely on presentation it would be a solid 9/10. However for the price, this brunch isn’t worth it. There was 6 of us and £28 per person and you literally get 1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 slice of bread, a slice of halloumi, 1 croissant and 1 waffle. Not only that you’re only allowed 1 hot drink and you get 1 Buck’s Fizz on arrival. In my personal opinion £28 per person is far too expensive. Would say it wasnt worth more than £30 for 2 people. To make it worth the money you should get unlimited hot drinks or even unlimited Buck’s Fizz. Would maybe return to try out their normal menu but would never do the brunch again.

The setting of this place is lovely however the price is just not reflected in what you get. First of all we thought we Booked a pod as on the site it said celebratory brunch + pod and booked thinking it was a pod as there was nothing stating one needed to be added. Whilst it could be partly my fault I feel the website was misleading. There was 5 of us crammed on a tiny table is a very loud a crowded setting, it felt like was was eating in a food hall of a shopping centre we was not pleased at all. The food come out and could hardly fit on the table making it uncomfortable to eat. Whilst the food looked amazing… £28 for one sausage, a slice of bacon, a slice of halloumi, a slice of toast, a croissant, a waffle plus a Buck’s Fizz and one hot drink each is ridiculous! The food wasn’t that great. The most disappointing part was a small tub of advacado (2tbsp) came out between 5 of us so we asked if we could have some more … when the bill come out we was charged for 2 additional pots. Not once was we told this would be an extra charge. We was really looking forward to a brunch together and we was so so disappointed after hearing such good things about this place. It is nice if you want a pretty setting but not if you want value for money and a place where you can hear each other talking and not be drowned by the loud conversations of others where so many tables and people are crammed into one small place.

We had the celebratory brunch for 4 people for my husband's birthday. Whilst the food was lovely, it most certainly wasn't worth £28 per head. We had a food platter that had a selection of sweet and savoury, but personally I don't think there was enough of a savoury selection. Also, it was exceptionally overpriced for the amount of food you got. You did get a glass of bucks fizz on arrival and tea and coffee, but that still didn't add up to good value for money. In addition, it you wanted the pod it was £35 per head. I am struggling to work out how you can justify an extra £7 per head to sit in a pod with the same amount of food and drink. Whilst it was lovely, staff and service brilliant, it just wasn't worth the money and I wouldn't go back on that basis.

Cannot recommend this place enough! The staff are fantastic and the food is just divine! We often pop up for lunch / brunch but we’ve recently just done their igloo experience and it’s amazing! Sooo much food and all in all just a lovely experience....

We were really surprised by this hidden gem - doesn’t have much kerb appeal from the outside but what a cracker of a tea room/coffee shop inside with a great courtyard to enjoy late summer sunshine! It was really busy when we arrived but we got a table immediately and service was quick - we didn’t have to wait long to order or for our delicious breakfasts to arrive.

Had luch today after being a customer here previously. Food is always great and service very friendly. However, improvements are required on the 'no booking' system.Obviously there is extra demand due to the government 'Eat out' scheme at the moment, which is great to see. However making people queue, outside in the cold for up to an hour, seems so uneccessary.Let people book beforehand so they can arrive on time and saves them waiting aroud. There were a lot of grumpy people that once eventually sat at a table started off in a bad mood. Which is a shame because the food is fantastic and the staff are amazingLastly, the area has really bad signal and i dont think it would hurt giving out your wifi code. Especially for paying customers who have been waiting a while. Seems a small improvement that will keep your customers happier! :)

This place is ahead of all others when it comes to eating out in Noth Kent, only a handful of places doing good breakfasts and Oad Street is certainly top of their game. The setting is stunning and stylish, the cakes are AMAZING and the quiche is always to die for! The staff always go out of their way to provide the best possible service.

This cafe/ gift shop is a hidden gem well worth a visit. Firstly the gift shop is full of lovely gifts and trinkets and an art gallery shop with many works by local artists. The cafe itself is nicely presented, clean and comfortable. The cafe has been busy every time I have ever visited and this is testament to how nice it is, though it can be a little noisy. The food is well presented and freshly prepared to order and there is a great variety of drinks, snacks and cakes for a lovely treat. The ambience is perfect, lighting, comfort and attentive staff. This is not a cheap greasy spoon cafe, you will get high quality food and service here, lovely for a treat, perfect place to meet friends for a catch up, take mum for a cream tea or a business meeting.

We visited today 17th Feb for my mums birthday she had pre booked a table for all her friends. The cafe isn't very big so with everyone sitting so closely together during a busy lunch the noise is ridiculous you cannot hear the person next to you.First our drink order was taken and then the food order, we had asked on arrival if anything was unavailable as we had a vegetarian and also someone dietary requirements so didnt want to delay ordering. We sat down at 1pm and the first starters came out at 2:08 I asked for the kids food first which did arrive quickly so I was grateful for that. After the starters where cleared we where then informed that the only had one portion for cauliflower quiche available and two people had ordered it so errrmm what did we want to do about that!!!!! No apology really just we didnt keep enough to one side and some else has used it for another customer order WTF A full hour 20 mins into our lunch this just isn't good enough and because one of ladies for religious reason are more limited it was very awkward. When lunch arrived there where bringing out the wrong food and one lady was missing food the eggs on one dish where all slimy and snotty and they also got the drinks mixed up. The portion size was relatable to the cost.Up for debate my sister ordered a poached pear which is a hot desert which when we complained was served cold, we where informed this is a "personal preference" clearly the "chef" here is a very loose term and doesnt have any formal training as that is B*****s so we where made to pay for it.DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!!!THE CHILDRENS MENU IS PATHETIC AND MY CHILDREN HAD TWO GLASSES OF APPLE JUICE EACH WHICH CAME OUT THE SAME SIZE AS A JAGER BOMB TWO MOUTHFULS AT MOST AND AT £2 PER GLASS I HAD SPENT A WHOPPING £8 UNKNOWLING ON ABOUT £0.50P WORTH OF JUCIE MAX SO THERE OVER HEAD THERE IS MENTAL!!!!!!!!I small scoop of ice cream was charged at £1.25 and put through the till as "cake" on the receipt so no idea how much the actually cost as the price had just been made up! When it came to taking the bill granted we all paid separately the waitress took my sisters card away from the table which is illegal your not allowed to walk away from a customer with there card and the proceeded to just assume when would pay contact less and do it for her!!! Safe to say I was livid at this point.I strongly suggest your management get in touch with me. Would never return.

So gutted that I have only just stumbled across this place, having lived 20 minutes away for nearly four years. The food was great, the service was perfect and I could have bought one of everything in the gift shop. Such a hidden gem.

The restaurant was clean and the staff welcoming the food was very nice and a good selection. The craft section is a good place to browse and also buy things that are not on line or on a website.

Have visited many times and over a period of years .However since it has been updated it seems to have lost its originality . Food is still good and worth going for but the craft side has become less attractive .Not so much to see and view ..Decent variety menu and reasonable time being served .Very helpful staff but prefered the old shop and cafe .Would still recommend a visit for lunch

So good to go out for coffee/brunch and have easy parking for all. A place to spend time in. The little shops and picture framers make for pleasant conversation and present buying. The conveniences are very clean and accessible. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The variety of seating makes it suitable for all occasions. Enjoy your time there. The food is great and beautifully presented .

I have been to this cafe several times for coffee and cake, and not been disappointed. However, this time I went with family for lunch and the experience was totally different. Firstly, the menu seemed very expensive - my daughter chose a burger, which wasn't cheap at £12 (other toppings were extra), but we were really surprised to find out that if you wanted chips, they were extra. The burger and chips were served on a small plate, which they almost filled. The chips were also not cooked through. However, the mac and cheese was tasty, once we had sent it back to be reheated. The lack of soft furnishings mean the noise level is pretty high, and the tables are quite close together, so be prepared to be nudged regularly. And the strangest thing - the salt cellar had rock salt in it, which didn't come through the holes. Lucky really, because who wants great lumps of salt on their food? We did express our disappointment to the staff, but were told that the prices were all on the menu. Unfortunately, the standard of the food didn't justify the prices. All in all, one to reluctantly cross off our list.

They didn’t have specific vegan items on the menu however they made it no trouble to put something together (sourdough, smashed avocado, vine tomatoes and mushrooms). Nan has eggs royals and loved it! Really nice atmosphere and clearly very popular.

Excellent food, had brunch here 3 times now. The breakfasts are really tasty but a little on the small side. Suits my appetite but not those wanting a hearty breakfast. The service is polite and friendly and never intrusive. I haven’t been again since June as the food gets cold too quick! Maybe if the plates/bowls were heated first it would prevent this, I’m not sure. The food itself and the coffee is very good! Will definitely return.

Our winter wedding at The Ferry House was just perfect, and that is all thanks to the amazing team. The care and attention to detail they had to understanding our vibe and making our vision come to life was just second to none. We have so many amazing memories of the day and also the planning stages. The setting was beautiful, the food and drink were amazing, and the staff were all super friendly. All of our guests loved everything about the day and are still talking about it now. Thank you so much for making our wedding dreams come true, core memory made!

Nice little pub down by the Harbour. Always a nice selection of real ales and nicely kept. They have started doing food, and the prices look reasonable. I look forward to giving it a try sometime.
