Went for a quiet meal with family on Thursday evening around 7pm and couldn’t fault it. Had a waitress called fiona, couldn’t fault her she went out her way with everything we asked for. Defently be visiting again

Visited for Sunday lunch today. I had beef with all the trimmings (as they advertise) the Yorkshire pud needed a pair of scissors to cut through but generally ok but not value for money in my opinion. The real gripe was my husbands hunters chicken meal. 9 chips (not full chips) so estimate approx. 6, brown, curled up lettuce (not salad please note- just lettuce - tipped from an old bag of Tesco’s with the look of it! When bought to the waitresses attention she said ‘is that what they’ve bought you?’ I will get some more chips, which she did bless her and she informed us she eats at another restaurant nearby where they serve ‘lovely meals’ Overall poor quality & not at all value for money. Won’t return.

Popped in for a bit of lunch on the spur of the moment and any expectations were exceeded. The menu was varied and really good value for money. We chose the garlic bread, salmon fillet, steak and ale pie and beef chilli. All were cooked really well and very tasty. My grandson chose chicken pasta from the kids menu and it couldn’t have been presented better. There were individual pots of cheese, chopped tomato sauce and peas to add to the dish and the chicken chunks were really meaty and not overcooked. We all had wine and beer and the whole meal for four only cost about £47. Really attentive service and friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Will definitely be going back.

our booking was at 12.30 it’s wasn’t very busy. meal was for 4people £50 each + a free bottle of Buck’s Fizz was offered for an early booking. Had to ask re buck fizz he said he would check, he disappeared we received the meal and had to enquire again for the Buck’s Fizz we then received a bottle of prosceco which was served by a very pleasant young man. Three Starters came after a long wait the 4th eventually arrived. Main course no gravy only on one meal so we asked the waitress for some which she never brought after waiting 10mins went to find another waitress for some by this time my meal was cold. Husband meal was served with potatoes and 4 Brussels which were hard and tasted awful the rest of his veg was missing but he had a least plenty of gravy. Dessert also incomplete raspberry missing. Had to ask for the cheese which was slung on the table with the mince pies which made the plate bounce on the table. The attitude of the waitress who served us our main course and dessert was awful. At no time were we asked it our meal was okay. I appreciate that the staff are under a lot of pressure on Christmas Day, but someone should check the meals leaving the kitchen and make sure that courses are complete and that we were happy. At least they should be served professionally and with good customer service and not with the attitude that they didn’t want to serve you.All in all for £50+ each for four people the customer service and the lack of vegetables and the taste of the meal it was very disappointing. Would not book again.

We had the Christmas Fayre menu and it was excellent value for money and the food was really good. We had excellent service from Stacy who looked after us so well and a special mention for the non plastic Christmas Crackers - well done !

Such a shame. We had a festive meal here recently and my meal was a real disappointment. My nut roast was burnt and inedible. My potatoes were stale :( It was a nice atmosphere though and felt festive. They always make a fuss of our dog here and give him treats :)

We were celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday and had a lovely meal. 3 of us had Sunday dinner, the other 3 had burgers which all went down well.

Monday 13th we visited the Nurseryman at Beeston. on entering the nurseryman we selected our seats near the window. not long after the waitress came to take our order and was very pleasant. after a good drink and a natter the waitress ( Kelly ) was back again with our hot food which looked very good, during the meal Kelly came over to us twice to see if the meal was ok and asked us if we wanted more drinks which i did. not long after the barman brought my drink to me,

We love the Nuseryman, however our last visit was not the best. The food was very good when it came, but we felt the staff were too busy resetting emply tables, and ignoring their relatively few customers. Come on management. The facilities are good and parking is almost always available

Went here yesterday, after waiting 10minutes for no one to seat us staff just walking by we seated ourselves and ordered food... and on the mix grill to find a mouldy tomato. Which clearly means no ones checking the food absolutely vile!

Food has improved no end. Food was delicious and fresh. We even got 33% off with a voucher. Took our dog here for lunch and he always gets a big fuss made of him haha. He likes the treats and we like the gin selection :)

We visited on steak night, which promised to be delicious (on reading the menu). We ordered sirloin, with skin-on seasoned chips, garlic roasted vine tomatoes and chargrilled peppers. What we actually got was a few skinny fries, a regular tomato (no evidence of it being garlic roasted) a quarter of red onion (slightly charred but mainly raw) and two pieces of pepper that had quite obviously just been shown the grill as they were also raw!! The steak was tough and if anyone had shown us the courtesy to ask how our meal was, we would’ve told them so, but nobody did - not even at the end of the meal. We most certainly won’t be returning for this type of rip-off meal and terrible service.

We went here as a group of 10 last weekend. The service was great, especially as there were so many of us. The children’s meals were well cooked and quite generous which was great. Our Sunday roasts were spot on and the steak sandwich was delicious. The only disappointment was the nachos. They are ok if you just want plain ones but the chilli/ pulled pork option is a token gesture as there is hardly any on there. I wouldn’t order those again. That said, everything else was great:)

I last visited The Nurseryman a few years ago but for some unknown reason haven't been for a while, until today. I went with a group of friends and had a very enjoyable lunch. The atmosphere is light, airy and very pleasant and the service very good. I was delighted to find there was a selection of Vegetarian choices available and as a starter I had the Mushrooms with Stilton in a Peppercorn sauce which was tasty. As a main course I had the Halloumi Fajitas which was beautifully presented and really enjoyable. Good sized portions too, very filling. I can recommend and will return.

We came here with some friends for a baby shower : the place was really nice, we got a full room for us. The food looks nice, though we only had dessert (cookie dough cheesecake highly recommended!). Staff very friendly : special thank to Ross for his kindness and fun attitude!

We booked a window seat table for 7.30pm and on arrival was shown to our table by a pleasant young lady. The pub has recently been redecorated and is much more welcoming than previously. We ordered our meal from a charming young man called Ross who also delivered our food and made sure everything was as ordered. We ordered squid and prawn cocktail which were quite acceptable and for our main course we ordered fish and chips and curry. The fish and chips was very good but the curry was fairly bland and a little disappointing. Overall this is a fairly good place to call in for reasonably priced pub food.
