Excellent food and service!!!!!

Five of us enjoyed a wonderful lunch here yesterday. Service was friendly and efficient, even bringing the fish to the table for us to admire/choose! Food was delicious. Nothing too fancy, just letting the superb ingredients speak for themselves and no silly irrelevant garnishes, which is heartening to see these days! We look forward to returning soon. Thank you all.

We went to no7 to celebrate our wedding anniversary the staff were great and the food was 10 out of 10 the waiter also showed us the fish and explained what each one was before we ordered

We booked a table (would recommend!) and were told we could arrive early to enjoy a drink in the upstairs bar. We did! Cosy and intimate. All staff were incredibly friendly and the food was amazing. Had scallop and mussel starters, and 2 local fresh fish catches for mains. No room for puds!

Fantastic fish restaurant, we were really happy to eat there as the reviews and recommendations from locals were top. And we weren't disappointed... Were there as a family with two teenagers. Super Service! Come again…

A truly outstanding seafood restaurant and I echo all the positive accolades on here from other people. Knowledgeable staff, who enhanced the dining experience with the pre-dining fish presentation and wine explanations and suggestions. I wish it was closer to where I lived. A great night, thank you.

We were so excited to come to this place reading all the reviews but the food did not raise even close to the expectations. The fish was bland, the mussels weren't great, portions rather small and the whole meal was way overpriced for what we got. The vegetables that came with the fish were just not good. Paid around 200 for 4 adults and 2 kids and this is without any wine.

Easily 4.8 stars! Monkfish tail very juicy, albeit smaller than shown on a daily catch plate; crème brûlée divine; a starter of mussels, a prawn and a scallop had a lovely sauce. Selection of wines was fine as well, notably, whites offered by glass very decent (and it turned out, any wine could be ordered by glass). Friendly folks and Soave ambiance added to the overall very good experience, if a tad pricey.

We had drinks & sampled some of the restaurant food in the wine bar & it was so good we visited every night of our stay. Robin has such incredible passion & knowledge so if you love wine like we do, prepare to love it even more! The tempura prawns are the best we've had in the world. A proper gem.

Tonight was my first time there. Not from the local area but would go back again. I'm not the biggest fan of fish restaurants but still loved the food. However, what really exceeded my expectations was the level of service. Probably the best service I've had at a restaurant. Thank you, team!

Went with Mrs G and a couple of our friends for a birthday celebration. The food was delicious, service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food served. We will definitely be revisiting.

This restaurant was my family's fave for many years and it happily continues to sail serenely on. Absolute pleasure in every respect. Recommend the whole roast gurnard if there are any about, or the lemon sole. Unadulterated pan-seared scallops divine. Superb fish cookery and an absolute delight to be served some heritage beetroot in the veg dish. You guys rock ❤️

Our first visit last night and certainly not out last. Service was impeccable, great wine selection and wonderful good. Unfortunately for us out tiny appetites meant we couldn't clear the plates and enjoy it got longer. Thank you.

Nice food, excellent service and fair prices, but I was probably expecting something better. I find the menu system a little bit confusing since you have to keep checking the blackboards around the room, which is not super comfortable.

We had a wonderful night at No7. Paul and his staff were very good. Selection of fish menus was so diverse. A great touch was the display of fish available at the start. Fully recommended.

Excellent seafood restaurant. Excellent range of wines etc. Fresh fish daily on the specials boards. Beautifully cooked food with appropriate garnishes. Highly recommended but I think it's essential to book in advance because they where full on the night I dined there.

Popped in Monday night and had an amazing meal. The food was outstanding and the staff were amazing. If you're in the area, this is a must try restaurant. The selection of fresh fish is superb and the different ways it is cooked just elevates it all.

I had an excellent lunch here. Tried cuttlefish and skate for the first time and I couldn't be happier. Cooked to perfection, amazing portion sizes and excellent service. I will more than happily return here it was worth every penny.

Unfortunately, the room was extremely noisy. There was a large party at one of the tables which made conversation possible.

Dinner. Bistro style restaurant serving the best fresh fish. If you like fish,then this is for you. Homely, unpretentious, and honest, just like the cooking. Fish and shellfish from local boats and markets are simply roasted or grilled. Monday night, and the place was fully booked. Luckily, the boss man Paul managed to squeeze us in at the last minute. As well as the main menu, you can choose from the various special boards up on the walls. Before you choose, they bring a tray to the table to show you the fresh catch of the day. For starters Grilled Garlic Mushrooms - yes, not fish! £6.50 Seared Scallops - off specials board £13.50 Mains - off specials board. Fillet of Cod with Scallops and Prawn tempura £25. Three fish special. £25 3 fish, 3 different ways. All main courses are inclusive of vegetables or salad and a choice of potatoes. Of course, we had to have a portion of the amazing chips. Everything was cooked fresh to order, and service was very good as always.

Our 24th Wedding Anniversary and where do you go? Well a fabulous restaurant where know that the food will be amazing and the service relaxed totally unobtrusive and spot on! The food WAS superb with a glorious South African Riesling with our starter and main course then an unbelievable Dessert Valpolicella - a wine which with over 30 years of somelier training I had NEVER heard of! Still worked out better Value than we had expected xx

This was the best seafood restaurant my wife and I have been to, we had a lovely evening meal there on her birthday, lovely atmosphere, the owner showed us the options on a tray filled with a selection of fresh fish. We ate three great courses, a couple of bottles of wine and finished with some port. The service was wonderful, the staff friendly and the food divine. I was particularly impressed with the monkfish I had for my main course, it was cooked to perfection and the flavour was both rich and yet delicate at the same time. Highly recommended.

We had to wait 25 minutes for our table.We were asked to wait in the upstairs bar which we did.The barman was really unhelpful and we had to ask twice for tap water to go with our wine which when supplied was tepid and only 2 glasses were given for 4 of us.When we were seated in the restaurant we had a really nice table by the window and the food was delicious.But it was so noisy,probably high ceiling and wooden floors didn't help.The only really good service came from a 13year old boy !We unfortunately do not plan to return.

Had a lovely 3 course meal for my husbands 50th birthday recently. Welcomed with a birthday banner and nice greeting. Food was delicious, best seafood in town. Service was consistent and friendly, especially by the male manager/owner and Charley the waitress, but all staff lovely. Thank you Mr & Mrs Lloyd.

The best fish restaurant on the planet.

Booked Number 7 Bistro and Wine Bar to celebrate my wifes' birthday and a thoroughly wonderful meal was had. We arrived slightly early and the restaurant was already full and there was a buzzing atmosphere with a good mix of people including children - it oozed cosiness and had a real family feel. Because we were early, we were invited to utilise the upstairs wine bar which was a lovely relaxed space to wait whilst our table was being prepared. The food was fantastic, starting with oysters, we also had French Onion Soup which was delicious (though they forgot my crouton)! The mixed seafood dish was superb with lots and lots of garlic (with plenty of bread to mop up the sauce - the tempura fish was also very good. For mains, the Gurnard was a first and was exceptional - I'll certainly have that again and the Brixham Lemon Sole was cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed a very nice bottle of Chateau Lestrille - we'll definitely be heading back.

A great choice for seafood. Excellent bar for pre-dinner drinks. Extensive wine list. Quality fish, cooked well. A must-visit while in Torquay.

Not impressed. The food was tasteless , salmon overcooked, the prawn and cuterfish avrage. This food tasted like it was cooked by a chef that lost his/her mojo and should resign... Maybe 7 years ago, this was a nice place to have fish/seafood in Torquay, unfortunately in 2023 the overall standard of the dishes is very low, and not worth the hype.I had high expectations and was let down on all aspects related to the food/flavour/quality. They do have a great wine list🍷 and good service.

Simply fantastic tasting seafood. This was our 2nd visit and we're already looking forward to the next one.

There was 2 of us who stopped here but didn't have a booking. They have us a table upstairs in the wine bar which we actually thought was better than the restaurant as the views were lovely. The food was amazing. They have a really comprehensive wine list but we didn't sample any.

One of the best sea food restaurants we have tried in England. We had a great selection of specialties we could try and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!! A place to return if we come back to Torquay.

Best fish I have ever had in a wonderful family restaurant

We had a table booked for 8.30pm. When we arrived at the restaurant our table was not ready and they had no idea when it would be available. We were offered a space in the wine bar which was quire frankly not acceptable, especially considering the prices being charged. Customer service was not acceptable. Considering No.7 failed to provide us with a suitable tsble we wre forced to find somewhere else to eat. We eventually found a great restaurant nearby called Amici in Torquay, Jose the waiter was absolutely amazing and made the evening a memorable occasion. Well done Amici and of course Jose! No7 you could learn alot from Amici , in terms of Customer service and a wonderful atmosphere with excellent food

The food was stunning. Absolutely fantastic, price and flavour! The barman was rude and unprofessional. They didn't treat us, like the rest of the diners. I don't want to assume that this was a discrimination and a racist behaviour against us. I will assume that this was just a bad day for them. The waitress was fantastic and really helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. Lunch was a feast of all the seafood and fish we love. I had oysters, a starter with prawn, scallop and mussels, a main of a trio of fish with different sauces. My wife had a goat's cheese starter and a fish and prawn tempura main course. A good introdution to the selection of food on offer. Good desserts and wines. We plan to book for dinner when next in the area.

The evening experience here was excellent. Having a great wine selection upstairs and being taken down my a member of staff was great. The main event was the food, which was outstanding, the hake and the lemon sole were incredible, cooked very well and served with great white wine, lemon and garlic sauce. Overall it was a fantastic evening and we wish we could visit more often. Thank you for a lovely evening and dinner.

Walked past this resturant and wine bar and decided to try and book. We never looked at the reviews before but the place looked inviting and the menu also looked intresting. Luckily we got a table for 8.30. According to another diner we talked to you usually need to book weeks in advance and you can see why. Food and wine was excellent. Good atmosphere and really good choice of fresh seafood. Probably the best seafood restaurant I've ever been to. All food cooked to perfection. Will be definitely back when I'm in the area again.

Another fabulous, delicious meal preceded by wonderful pre- dinner drinks upstairs. Scallops again were the best ever, & the tempura 3 fish dish was fabulous. Loved seeing the selection of fresh fish available before ordering! Service, food, atmosphere & wines were all perfect! Can't wait to return!

One of the Bay’s top restaurants for 30 years - come July - No 7 continues to delight seafood lovers with its consistently classy dishes featuring the finest and freshest ingredients. Lovely ambience, friendly, professional management and staff and superb value. Impossible to find fault on any front.

The only reason you would go anywhere else, would be if this place was fully booked. You feel welcome, the food is absolutely outstanding, and the people are lovely. You haven't eaten fish until you've eaten here.

Attended this afternoon for a private function for 25 people. Service and food were excellent. Very fresh and tasty. Plenty of food in each course. All cooked very well. Highly recommended for a first class fish restaurant.

Superb for fresh seafood. Came for dinner as a group of seafood connoisseurs! We were in the area for We all enjoy seafood and were spoilt for choice. We were a group of 5, and all dishes were perfectly cooked and well presented. I chose the skate wing and couldn't decide how I wanted it cooked. They offered to cook half and half, which was the perfect solution. Superb service and very accommodating with menu and requests. Highly recommended!

If you like seafood then this restaurant is an essential visit if you are anywhere near Torquay but it might be worth making a reservation as it seems very popular. Can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to go back.

Felt rushed. Fish excellent. Vegetables dire. Was disappointed as came to Torquay and precooked this restaurant as looking for an exceptional seafood experience. Sadly, not as we'd wished.
