The menue was small and very little fresh fish with without batter. No shell fish? The portion size was small. i settled for a prawn curry with no more than a table spoon of rice. The quality of the food was average but for below that of Lilli Mais next door

One of the best fish and chip shops in Tunbridge Wells - family run and very clean/smart. Great value too.

Honestly if I could do minus stars I would, where do I start we got a couple portions of chips which were 3.20 each which I thought was ridiculously expensive. The LARGE portions that we brought should be renamed I’ve gotten bigger portions of small chips elsewhere, the others I was with thought that the chips were tasteless, greasy and like they have been fried in oil about two/three weeks old, I was unable to eat more than a couple of chips because it was marking me feel sick. Also really rude customer service they were talking to a guy in the shop in polish unaware that I spoke the language and were saying I could wait for them to finish, I was waiting about twenty minutes for two portions of chips, all in all absolutely awful definitely never going there again and will make sure that anyone I know never go here either

Despite the good reviews in google the chips were hard not crispy and also room temperature. The sausages were very pale and there was hardly any batter on them the batter that was on the sausage was dark brown? Not golden like usual. The bread roll was stale where it had been frozen, defrosted in the microwave and then sat out on the side. Staff look very unapproachable and lack manners. And big boss talks to his daughter like she is a dog.. overall I’d rather have my mouth stapled shut.

My partner and I have been here a couple of times and really enjoyed the experience. Even if the place is very small, the atmosphere is comfy and pleasant. The owner is very friendly and the food is fresh and delicious!

I've lived in the area for 35 years, and have, up until recently, only visited this establishment once, and that was back in 1987....so, having walked passed here while on my daily exercise during lockdown I fell for the delicious aroma being emitted from here....and, I can say I wasn't disappointed.Having paid a couple of visits whilst on furlough, I started cautiously with a cheeky little bag of chips, which I gallantly ate from the bag whilst walking down the road (not something I'd usually) I was pleasantly surprised how delicious fresh, and hot my offering was.I bit the bullet today and went for the full blown Cod and Chips takeaway. The whole thing was freshly cooked to order and was perfect. The premises are spotless, with covid regulations being observed. The staff were very efficient.

Lovely ambiance, good food, poor service. We booked a table for lunch for 1.00 pm on a Thursday and arrived at 12.55. Ordered promptly at 1.00 pm and then waited 45 minutes for food to be served. As many others have commented on here, the issue with The Three Chimneys is the quality of service from the waitress staff which varies from indifference to sarcasm and rude.

A lot of people are blaming the cafe for the £7 parking. The parking price is awful and needs addressing, but I'm not sure if you can blame the Cafe for that. Food was good, view was lovely, the price wasn't too high for the food, chips were amazing! We had one issue the second lot of fries were missed but that was sorted out quick and without fuss. Guy on the till was nice about it and just got it all sorted. £2.50 for a Pepsi is a little steep, maybe a drinks machine would allow the prices to drop. Seating was comfortable, tables were clean, allows dogs. Minus that parking fee I'd visit more. Although a note I forgot to say the sausages are NOT dog friendly, maybe they could obtain some unseasoned sausages for dogs. Maybe plain pork ones, 6 for £2 at a super market and sell them at 75p each pre cut for pups ready to go. Allows for £2 profit per pack if you account 50p for cooking consumables.

I brought my granddaughter to The Trough for breakfast, having visited previously and enjoyed my trip. I didn't think that the coffee tasted good and wasn't presented well. We had a mini breakfast and a full English, the service was prompt, though I didn't feel that the breakfast was good value, namely the poached eggs where flat and not hot, bacon was so dry found it difficult to swallow the baked beans were cold along with the toast. A bit disappointed this time.
