Started coming in when my baby girl was 2 weeks old (I need to get out of the house and as a first time mum the thought of going to a bigger establishment didn't appeal to me). My baby is now 11 weeks old. We've been going in once a week every week. Anna, her daughter and fellow staff members are so polite and attentive. It really is a pleasure to keep visiting this little perfect establishment. Prices are very very reasonable in this day and age and everything they offer is delicious and fresh! Really is a must visit place!

.|Popped in for a coffee and cake. Must say it is a tiny cafe but in area can highly recommend. We had a drink and one of there great selection of tasty cakes. Snacks are available. They are dog friendly too.

I often pop into the bakery after a cycle ride (or sometimes just because I can!) and always enjoy the cakes. Now it’s winter, a new delight awaits…soup. Had lovely butternut squash and carrot soup today. As always, the service was impeccable, the staff polite and friendly and the food represents great value for money. Thoroughly recommended.

This has to be one of my all time favourite cafes for that sneaky coffee and home made prosecco cake. Absolutely love it

The generally euphoric reviews of the Number 1 Bakery made us a bit dubious. Could any place be that good? It was. Service was prompt, affable and efficient. The food (I had a BLT, my wife had a toasted sandwich) was made on the spot and was as tasty as we could have hoped - as were the coffees and chocolate tiffin we had to follow. On the subject of the tiffin - you might not finish it at one sitting. One bar should be enough to satisfy any two normal appetites. Equally, if you don't buy one to eat later, you're barmy. For three coffees, two sandwiches and two tiffins we had change from £20, so you won't break the bank. Highly recommended.

For Christmas and to make lockdown more bearable, I ordered some Cheese Straws, Cheese Scones, Sausage Rolls and an amazing Biscoff Biscuit Cheesecake. Every single item was fresh, incredibly tasty and great value. So much so that nearly all of it had been scoffed prior to New Year. Faultless customer service, presentation, flavour and freshness. A gem of a bakery!

So grateful that No 1 Bakery is still managing to be there for all its regular customers and anyone else who wants to come in for a tasty, reasonably priced snack. Great sandwiches soup, paninis - and cakes. They are working really hard to keep the cafe safe for all who visit - quite a challenge in a small space but it works!

Desperate for a caffeine fix after a night in a tent it looked like the only option was Costa in Tesco's car park but I was pointed in the direction of Number 1 Bakery and I'm so glad I was. It's small, only 3 tables but you get service with a smile and great coffee. Didn't sample the food but it looks like the sandwiches etc are made to order. Very reasonably priced. I'll be back again.

Really lovely experience from start to finish. I had lunch here with a couple of friends and a dog. We were all made to feel very welcome with first class service and lovely food in an attractive, friendly pub. Would recommend.

Café has been closed for a few days for wall and beam repairs as it is a listed old building but fortunately is now open again. This time back for a cappuccino and a cake.

The best gluten free fish and chips ever! The batter is light and crispy. The chips are the best! They have a dedicated fryer and the staff is knowledgeable about cross contamination. They serve GF fish and chips every Tuesday and as a coeliac, I feel safe to eat there. Thank you !

Roast dinners were nicely presented and delicious but portions were small. Desserts were also delicious but didn’t like the way the bill was presented a few minutes after our table was cleared - (we hadn’t requested it) and again a couple of minutes went by and the device was brought over for us to pay so felt a bit pushed out really.
