A really enjoyable evening in an eclectic mix of people. Jon and Jo made us feel welcome in their home, delicious food accompanied by delightful singing! We were greeted by cocktails then moved on to a three course meal with additional treats. A donation was made to a very worthy local charity fir homeless people. A misy relaxing way to start the bank holiday weekend. Thank you both very much!

We were all excited to get together after many years but it was not what we had hoped for. Access is difficult even in daylight with several uneven steps both outside and inside the premises. The food was uninspiring especially the main course. Overcooked green beans, boiled rounds of carrots, some new potatoes cooked in the oven served on the table in dreary pyrex dishes, to accompany swordfish with no sauce or boiled pork - someone said it was like a school dinner. Four of the twelve of us were sitting on fold up chairs with a cushion. Very disappointing. The Chef should stick to singing.

Absolutely fabulous time, booked private party for 12 , all unsure of where we were going. So funny seeing their faces going in the back entrance past the bins. They were bold over with the cuisine, and loved Jon singing. Jo was the perfect host. Watch out we will return !!!!

Two of us booked ourselves not having experienced before this kind of set up. You pre-select the dishes you want from the menu and pay a deposit on line. On arrival we were served a cocktail and introduced ourselves to the other diners (maximum of 12). We all shared a rectangular table which made difficult to talk to the people at the other end. Every course was delicious and we could not fault any of it. However, although we got on well with the other diners, by 10 o'clock we were ready to leave. However we thought it might be considered rude so we waited a little longer. We would much prefer to sit on our own, but we appreciate this is not part of the experience. My rate is based on the food and the lovely singing voice of the chef!

Muy bien cocinado comida, un gran ambiente hogareño, fantástica compañía y, encima, el chef canta. ¿Qué más se puede pedir? También creo que la relación calidad-precio era muy buena en 35 libras, teniendo en cuenta que es elegante. This was our first visit to Not So Secret Suppers. We met six others, and fortunately they were a similar age to ourselves plus 10 minus 20. The conversation was good, the food was excellent. For the starter I had Scotch quails eggs, done to perfection, the meat casing was perfectly cooked through and the egg was beautifully soft. My main of Pork tenderloin with parsnip puree, was perfection, very tender and juicy. The desert of Rhubarb meringue was a lovely counter to the main with a delicious tarte rhubarb and sweet custard ( home made of course). A very pleasant evening all round.

Really well looked after from first to last. Starting with an interesting little canapé to go with my introduction Moscow Mule - nice kick there folks! And on through numerous courses to coffee and desert wine. The setting is particular interesting. Modern, beautifully furnished, and decorated with the works of local artists. And so welcoming. And the singing. I hadn't realised just how talented Jon was. Listening to the background vocals, thinking 'Johnny Mathis or Burt Bacharach' on the turntable, turns out to be our host. And the company. Maybe we were all just lucky that night, but a more interesting group of strangers I have yet to find. Well done both of you.

I contacted Not So Secret Suppers asking for their supper club dates in November with a view to booking for my 50th birthday and they very kindly offered me their home and expertise for a private dining experience just for me and my guests. We started cocktails on the beach while we watched the firework display which helped make it a truly memorable evening. My guests had a choice of dishes for each course, and I had great fun choosing the selections from their extensive range. The food was fabulous, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals prepared and served by the singing chef (who even personalised the lyrics of the songs he was singing) and his lovely wife whose specialty dish was the roast potatoes. With my friends surprise invasion to make it a themed dinner party it really was the perfect celebration.

Jon and his team catered for a family birthday celebration on Christmas Eve in Brooklands Barn where we were staying for Christmas. The whole experience was magical. The team arrived on time, calmly prepared the food and served it with a friendly professionalism. Everything was exactly as promised, with the additional magic of Jon singing as he cooked - wonderful. And they cleared up afterwards! Would recommend them any time.

Where do I start location brilliant, lovely home being shared with strangers that so quickly become friends. The food is the best I've had full of flavor fresh and beautifully presented. Short while into the evening I thought 'I'm sure I read the chef sings. Hopefully he'll start soon. The I notice the chef walk pass the kitchen door and realized the album I was listening too was a backing track with him singing while cooking. What a brilliant touch to a brilliant evening. The whole group said we would look at going back very soon. You must try this it is brilliant

If you're concerned about dinner with strangers, don't be, it was SO interesting getting to know everyone and there's nothing to be nervous about, most people have never been before either. The idea is to have professionally cooked food (of the highest standard) in a private apartment with strangers. Initially greeted with a cocktail, sitting around and introducing yourselves in an informal way. Seating for up to twelve at a lovely table - we chose to split up partners, but everything is as the mood takes you. I think "mood" and "ambience" are the key words here. Jon and Ro, both cooks, although Ro does the front of house while Jon finishes off the dishes in the kitchen, singing gently to a backing track, totally unobtrusive. In fact, not even noticed until someone pointed out "That's Jon singing". On the foundation of the existing warmth and total lack of pretension, of course it's the guests who create the "mood". If our experience is anything to go by, this is exceptional. So much laughter, so much teasing, so much joy. It happened to be my birthday, and a day before my partner's birthday, and we can honestly say that this will go down as one of the most memorable."But what about the food? - get on with it!". Superb, and I use that word advisedly. From amuse-bouche, right through to petit fours, every dish a triumph. Bring your own wine, bring your open mind, and you will have one of the best dining experiences of your life (and I was celebrating 74 years on this planet). Nsss run their evenings on a couple of weekends a month. Booking is essential, and you will be sent the menu of that evening to make your choice in advance. Sometimes the menu might be themed - French, Oriental, Italian, etc.We started as strangers, and ended up as very happy and replete friends. Thank you!

We had the chance to meet new people as the table holds 12 and we all got on famously. The idea of having a meal cooked in someone elses home with complete strangers was a little daunting but ... we loved it so much we are going again. It is really popular and it is not available all week so check the website and have a go... you wont be dissapointed. (As it is in the basement flat it is not suitable for disabled or anyone who has problems with stairs and I could not recommend it for children) The food was cooked to perfection and the chef kept us entertained with his really good singing. Wow, such a fantastic night, we were absolutely spoilt - I would highly recommend.

To be honest, I had no idea what to expect in terms of food or venue, but I loved that we sat with complete strangers, who were all friendly and likeminded, loved that we could BYO drinks to accompany the meal and adored Jon and his hostess partner. We visited on a Friday night on the recommendation of a friend, and what wonderful start to our weekend it was. You sit alongside other guests, but the atmosphere is relaxed and the food so good, you soon feel completely at ease. All three courses were of the highest standard, the main dish I had was roast lamb that melted in the mouth, and the soft crooning of Jon the chef whilst preparing the food complements the relaxed atmosphere. I learned about this event on Trip Advisor and was intrigued by the concept and thought we'd give it a go. After telling some friends about it they decided to give it a try too. You have to order everything in advance, which is fair enough when you realise it's only Jon and Ro in their home with their regular family kitchen. There were 11 of us that night, some who've been more than once before and others like us who were there for the first time. The food was good, although not great. A particular disappointment was the vegetables which were placed on the table in large serving dishes. Having ordered the chicken, I was one of the last to be served by which time the green beans and carrots had already been snapped up by those served first. A minor gripe but there should have been more than enough.Jon's singing was really lovely. I was really impressed that he was able to concentrate on what he was doing without skipping a single lyric, even whilst communicating with Ro.The service from both Jon and Ro was exceptional, they are lovely hosts. We had a really good evening, it was great value for money and would definitely return. After reading the past reviews about Not So Secret Suppers I was intrigued, not just because the standard of food appears to be exceptional, but the concept itself. We went to The St Georges Day event. Four of us found our way through the garages and managed to find the entrance (rescued by Ro who came out and showed us the way.)We were the first to arrive but were quickly joined by 5 other diners eager to find out what was in store. We had pre-ordered everything we wanted from the menu, including the cocktails which were the first thing we were given. Mine was a Earl Grey Martini. It was very nice (I don't normally drink cocktails) and was an excellent start. The 'Amuse-bouche' was pork belly with an apple sauce/puree. Very nice too. Then the main event. Dinner! The mini Toad in the Hole was the best I've ever had, and I needed extra bread to mop up the excellent onion gravy which came with it. Trout with Almonds was beautiful, but the vegetables that accompanied it were not just bland. They each had been lovingly prepared to give an extra kick to the taste buds. The trifle however was nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. Anywhere else this would have been OK, but given the excellent food that came before I couldn't help but feel a little let down. Coffee and excellent home made chocolate nibbles followed. This was a fantastic evening. Thank you John and Ro. Our fellow diners also deserve a pat on the back for being so friendly and easy to get along with.At £30 per head this is great value for money. I can't recommend it highly enough..

Pop-up restaurants are a rare experience if you can find one both in terms of the food offered and the strangeness of dining in a strangers house. In this instance, a group of up to 12 friendly strangers sit together around a table and are served amazing food whilst the chef sings along in the kitchen. Your menu is pre-booked and consists of a cocktail, starter, main dish, dessert and a dessert wine along with morsels between. On arrival, you sit in the living area and say hello to the other guests over a cocktail and nibbles. Don't be intimidated at the thought of this because the people that visit are uniquely interesting, often bemused at the location and in my experience always friendly.Once ready, everyone sits round the table together and are served the starters they pre-ordered along with the bottle of wine they bought along.A home made palette cleansing sorbet usually follows this then the main course. The main course as with every part of the menu is lovely using locally sourced fresh ingredients.Desserts are a speciality for Jon who is known locally for his Vice Puddings company and don't disappoint. Finally a glass of dessert wine any the evening is over at around 11.Every dish will be an interesting and delicious twist over the original. Last night was celebrating St. Georges day so the menu starters included mini fish and chips and toad in the hole which I had. The toad in the hole was an inspired starter which has an amazing sauce. My main course was beef sirloin and vegetables which also had an amazing sauce and melted in the mouth Finally I had a variation on the traditional Trifle with lashings of fresh cream.Service is efficient, fast and friendly with Ro spending time talking to the guests as she pours their wine. All in all an experience you must try if you can and one that won't disappoint.

Oh and there were plenty of vegetable side dishes to go round too. Its bring your own wine, and this was regularly topped up for us every time the glass was nearing empty - the timings were all as good as you'd expect in a restaurant. Never waiting too long for any of the courses. The chef himself sang throughout from the kitchen, painting a picture of calm tranquillity depsite cooking for 9 people from a standard sized kitchen. You could've been excused for thinking it was a CD at times. The thing that sold it for me was the unique atmosphere that this event creates. What a fabulous night we had; everything went smoothly, with all the menus discussed and agreed in advance, and to our liking and with no shopping, cooking or washing up to do on the night! As usual, we had a wonderful dining experience and the vegetarians amongst us were similarly delighted. What a great way to host a celebration and a winning combination of good food and great tunes from Jon, made it a lovely and memorable occasion which was such a change from eating in a more formal atmosphere of a French restaurant. We can wholeheartedly recommend this venture as a superb way to delight your guests!

What an amazing evening. We met some fabulous and interesting fellow diners in addition to being wined and dined by our hosts with a cheeky cocktail to start, polished off with dessert wine and coffee. In between, I had two vegetarian delights; Mushroom Pate with Brioche, Spinach and ricotta Christmas Tree with baubles and a Panettone Bread and Butter Pudding to die for. It was all quite surreal initially, sitting in a strangers home, but we thoroughly recommend it! I agree with Jacky L, the crooning topped it off. Go people, you won't regret it! 10% goes to WCHP..good people..

I really recommend this event. A great way to meet new people in a casual way. The food was sublime and the atmosphere very relaxed. Johnny and Ro are so welcoming and interesting people. The added bonus is Johnny's great singing just makes it extra special. Try a different experience in the New Year you will love it.

The secret is out. Hosts Jon and Ro provide diners with an informal dining experience in their pop up restaurant with a cocktail to kick off with. I have been 3 times now. Twice with private party's and once on an evening with other guests where we chatted with other guests at the table. Jonathan only ever puts out great plates of food and tasters. Last time the monkfish was perfect but again the panacote bread and butter pudding stole the show. Great menus that change every month, sometimes with themes. The chef is also a professional singer and sings via a mic from the kitchen, but it's not so loud as to hinder conversation. Unusual yes. But unmissable. All locals should try this at least once, most people will love it and go back..... Again and again.

Every plate was a star on it's own. The amuse-bouche were divine. Impeccable service. Nothing too much trouble. Just like dining with friends. From start to finish totally captivated. By far the best food I have had when dining out in a very long time. Made new friends and will definitely be going back for more of the same. The singing chef was amazing and the atmosphere was intimate and comforting. Bring your own wine and sample this little known secret. I would have given more than 5 stars if allowed. I am told that you can even book them to cook for your private party in your own home.

Being quite a shy person this took me completely out of my comfort zone. But the minute I stepped through the door I was put at ease. The experience is so unique and offers people the chance to meet some wonderful people and have a vast range of conversations. The food is outstanding, as are the hosts. I can honestly say it was some of the best food I have tasted in a long time. I can't wait to go back as I know it will be different every time.

We wanted to try something different - and were not disappointed! Jon and Ro invite you into their home and welcome you with cocktails and canapes whilst you meet with the other guests for the evening. The ambience is friendly and relaxed, with attentive but not imposing service and some very melodic background music. Menus are inventive, with a spin on some old favourites too and the food is really well-presented and delicious. We are delighted to have found this gem in Worthing and can't wait to go again to enjoy Jon's many talents - but be warned - with only two dates per month and limited capacity you must book early as word is getting round!
