Nostimo in East Hertfordshire

Having lazily searched the High Street and failed to find a McDonalds I was so glad I did. I had the vegetable omelette which comes with a small salad and pita bread. It was probably the best omelette I have ever eaten! I washed it all down with a small pot of tea, which also hit the mark. Lovely, friendly staff / owners/ chef. Very good value for money. Highly recommended.

We love this cafe, it is our favourite in Bishop's Stortford. Everything I have ordered has been delicious. Very fresh, tasty, full of flavour, good portion sizes and very good value. In the summer they sell lovely ice cream too. The owner is very friendly and makes you feel welcome.

Visited here for a mid-week lunch with friends; we all chose different things from the menu and every dish was amazing: so tasty, perfectly cooked and great sized portions. The place was busy but the staff were still attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!

We come here not only for the fabulous ice cream but also for the happy owner who is the most helpful man in Stortford! He is always accommodating- extremely good with the children and has a happy smile on his face every time we visit. Great coffee and cakes and worth a visit

What a lovely place! I’ve walked past so many times as there’s so many options in Bishops Stortford when it comes to eating out but today I thought I’d try something different - so glad I did! What a pleasant surprise - delicious food - so clean and wholesome - great menu with such great variety! Everything was fantastic, right down to the little jugs for dressings and the glassware!

Not my first, nor second but just sharing the continuing attention given to food and customers. Not everywhere strives daily to please.

My mum and I stopped here for lunch and were very impressed with the Greek platter we shared having previously only tried coffee and tea. It was beautifully presented with gorgeous flat breads! The staff here are always very friendly and the cafe itself is fab, you feel like you have stepped into a cafe in Greece. We also love how you get slithers of cake with your coffee or tea, such a fab little extra! Would definitely recommend popping in for lunch or coffee

5* experience very warm and welcoming and the ice cream was delicious! The owner came and talked to us too and shared some lovely stories, was a great experience.

There’s something a bit special about this place. The authentic Greek coffee , pastries and platters are delicious. The menu has something for everyone and prepared fresh to order. Genuine lovely staff who just want you to enjoy your time there, they are busy but you are not rushed either. Attention to detail from the Greek produce you can purchase to take home, little Greek pasties and wines plus an amazing range of ice creams that are served with a variety of toppings …if you have the room of course! We’ve been here a few times now and every time we go we are glad we did.

I have been to Nostimo several times over the last few years. On all occasions, the service has been wonderful - you really get a sense that the owners can't do enough for their customers. Pre-Covid, I would get lunch here every so often, and always enjoyed their paninis and spinach and feta pies. During lockdown, I've been visiting every so often for takeaway drinks, and again the service has been fantastic. Coffee is good and usually comes with a free cake/brioche slice which is always a treat!

If you want a 1st class friendly service you must visit this family run restaurant/cafe. You will not be disappointed, they have a great choice of food, pastries, teas and coffees to choose from. They are extremely competitive on price too.

we popped in for a coffee as we wanted to try somewhere new in town and to support and local small business. and we are glad, this delicatessen is an absolute delight.super cute decor and very friendly staff !what we are assuming was the owner (male) had noticed us admiring and discussing the beautiful tables, and kindly came over to show us the greek designers website. best coffee we've had for a while. i went for the mocha - which beautifully smelt of coffee, and didnt just taste like a hot chocolate (like most places!)we were both given a complimentary custard brioche which was lovely!we highly recommend Nostimo and will certainly be returning! take-out is available.thank you!

We love the new location of Nostimo and like to pop in for a quick coffee after dropping our daughter off to nursery in the morning and before starting work.The service is very friendly and the coffee and food delicious. I keep looking at the various Greek products on the shelves (mainly the wine) and hope to try some of these soon.Good value and owners who obviously take great pride in what they do. We will continue to visit as often as we can.

First visit for while but wow still the most friendly service and amazing food at a reasonable price. In a town with so many dining choices - don’t waste time looking around this is number one with out any doubt.

Went in last weekend for a cuppa before shopping, our first visit since the lockdown. Laid out well to account for distancing and other COVID requirements. Tea and coffee very nice indeed, as was the complimentary cake!! Best part though is the very friendly couple and the other staff that run the deli and would highly recommend!!!

This place has a really lovely feel ( probably because of the people who run it). The food is amazingly good and really great value.

I love Nostimo and so do my parents. The service is friendly and personal. The owners are a delight and the food to die for. It is now our go to in town.

Still friendliest place in town. Dimka and Vaida continue to provide such a happy atmosphere to have a coffee and greek treat in. The new location seems to be very successful as always buzzy. And you still get the little small slice of chocolate bread cake complimentary which sets it apart. Keep up the good work!

This lovely delicatessen is in my home town, and is a real gem of a place. The owners are lovely: welcoming and friendly, and the coffee (ground hazelnut latte is my go to) is fantastic. There is a huge selection of coffee beans that you can have as your coffee, and the same with loose tea leaves. You can also buy the coffee beans (ground or not) and teas to take out at an extremely reasonable price per bag.A glass of water and a slice of brioche with your tree/coffee order just adds to the great experience.

Great coffee (Greek frappés!), great snacks (Greek salads, spinach/feta pies & mezé sharing boards) as well as excellent service from Dimitri and his staff at Nostimo! Highly recommend this authentic café!

Great customer service combined with good food that you cannot get elsewhere. If you want a panini then you won't be disappointed but you can also get things that other mainstream cafes don't do including Greek spinach/cheese pies and great salads. If you have room left after your generous helpings of your mains, there is a great selection of cakes including baklavas. There's also a wide selection of beverages.

Great food, great value and nice people. Varied menu choice. We had paninis and salad, delicious and nicely presented. What more could you ask for?

Always an enjoyable visit whether just for a coffee or a meal. The customers are always made so welcome in this very central eating establishment in the heart of the town. Your coffee is always served with a complimentary slice of cake together with a glass of water.The best of ingredients are always used together with an extensive menu with breakfast being served all day. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable.

Went with my partner for a quick snack after shopping.Had 2 slices of Greek Spinach pie , good portions , very authentic and a lovely salad with olives and dressing to accompany it.2 large Cappuccinos with complimentary cake was a nice touch.Hope to try Mezze next time !Glad the move to new site has proved successful for the owners.Will definitely be back.

I've known Dimitri since he first opened in South St. He makes the best coffee in B/S, food is amazing + customer service is personalized + best ever. Prices are good too. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Visited for the first time on my own - single, female... was made very welcome! Excellent customer service, superb coffee and a complimentary piece of chocolate brioche!! I will definitely be going back & cant recommend this place highly enough. Thankyou.

Location now more central but super service still with tasty food. Everything freshly prepared and it shows. Worth the wait and generous portions.

When we arrived, a younger lady escorted us to the table and then forgot about us for the next 20 minutes. I must say, they were very apologetic when they realised that they forgot to take our order. The place is lovely, has a good feel, but the floor was dirty. Bits of food everywhere. It was a rainy day, so I understand that it would be muddy, but the floor should have been cleaned before we got seated.

A great find at the top of the high street. Initially thought, not another coffee shop, but this place beats the competition. Had the chicken giros which were great value, along with a pot of tea. Very polite service in a clean environment. Will definitely revisit. 5 star.

Great find, friendly service and the best coffee/hot chocolate around. Served with complimentary Greek biscuits, what a treat! Hot food and cakes looked very tempting too, would highly recommend a visit; beats those coffee chain cafes hands down.

Why have we not discovered this lovely cafe before?! Definitely Greek, absolutely fresh food, delicious goodies to take away. I thought the service was a bit slow to start, but we were in no rush. Probably not fast because we had cheese omelettes which required cooking, but when they arrived full of veg and herbs, served with a nice salad and pitta bread we were more than pleased. Nice touch that drinks came with our food order, rather than before, which is most restaurants’ way of keeping customers quiet! Especially pleased at the very reasonable price. Complimentary chocolate bread and an unasked for glass of water made sure we will visit again.

We received such a warm welcome from the owner – the staff are all superbly friendly and the coffee was of great quality!I ordered the Greek salad and my partner ordered the chicken gyro we were both incredibly pleased – definitely at the top of our list when we return to this town

I’m not the one to normally write reviews after visiting a café, however after going to Nostimo, I was so impressed that I took to the computer! The food was freshly baked and so tasty, and the owner Dimitris welcomes us with a smile - such a friendly and cosy atmosphere! A lovely afternoon with my friends and I can’t wait to go again.

I know this cafe before the move here and I must to say they are much more better. they have an excellent service and food is delicious and very good price. 100% reccomended

packed full of people but found a corner table. Large cups of cappuccino arrived with complementary slices of the most delicious and fresh chocolate bread! I bought some to take home.

Was recommended to try this lovely deli. And was not disappointed. Very friendly staff and a fine selection of Greek delicacies , panini's and various coffees/ teas from around the world. Freshly squeezed orange juice too . Our Greek platters were a mixture of hummus , taramasalata, tzatziki, dolemedes, feta and salad well priced at £,7.95.

Living near the old location I was a little sad to hear they were moving but fortunately our school run can take a tiny detour to pass the new place! And it's so nicely done out. All lovely and white and Dimka and Vaida are as lovely as ever.

We'd heard good things about this place on Facebook and walking past the new premises noticed that there were a couple of empty seats, so went in for some drinks. This was a good move, as almost as soon as we sat down the place started filling up, and we soon found out why! Spotlessly clean, great service and a complimentary slice of cake and water with our drinks, and for less than what we'd pay at Starbucks. The food that was brought out to other customers looked and smelled great, and the selection of cakes looked very nice indeed, so there's even more reason to pop back again and again. All in all a great place and see you again next weekend!

Took my mum and dad here last Saturday. From the outside it looks very nice but unfortunately they are disabled and there is no access or room for them to get in. Will not return

We love having our morning coffee in this lovely little cafe. We stroll into town and there is always a warm welcome! Dimitri (Jim as he like to be known) and family have a cosy cafe that serves Lavazzo coffee with a complimentary slice of chocolate marbled panettone all served with a cheeky smile. They also provide light lunches. ❤️

Best in town with free croissant!!!! Nice herbs you can buy. Nice comfy seats while waiting for a bus. Good all round

Very friendly atmosphere , very good staff . You get a small piece of cake together with your coffee for welcome! Myself and my gf enjoyed our visit and I m sure we will come back for the nice Greek traditional pies and sandwiches with pepperoni

What a lovely find on a damp cold winter's lunchtime. Its a mixture of coffee shop, gift shop and selling loose tea and honeys with a couple of tables outside. I just ordered coffee and cake which was brought to my table; the cake so fresh and the coffee was outstanding.

This place is unique. It's tiny and not in a prime position. In fact, you could easily walk right past it, and I suspect many do. But if you do you miss out on something really rather special. It sells great coffee (Lavazza) and has the largest selection of loose teas I have ever seen in one place. But it also sells snacks, cakes, bits of kitchenware towels etc.

Quality food, excellent service, friendly welcome. All food cooked to order and worth any short wait. Now found they do eggcelent omelettes.

Best coffee in town with Dimetrio aka Jim, the fab owner, a lovely family run coffee shop . Such a great atmosphere whether sitting inside or out.

This is the best local coffee shop in town. The owner makes everyone so welcome and the atmosphere is so cosy. Well worth the walk to the end of the high street. Just hope that they get larger premises soon, as the present one is always full.

Whenever I have a chance I always visit Nostimo with excellent coffee and delicious food. The ambience is always pleasant and welcoming. I recommend this place 100%.

Relaxing and super friendly, good coffee and a simple range of good food with a Greek twist on the edge of town away from the hustle and bustle.

We are not relatives but almost feel one of the family. Most others testify to the food quality and attentive service. I'm tempted to write an unfair review as it's becoming increasingly evident it's a real hidden gem becoming too well known. Our concern is there are only so many seats you can comfortable fit in the cafe.

Lovely little greek owned cafe, not big , not a wide range menu,but good food .Does simple foods ,and salads ,smallish menu but served with a smile and welcome .\downside is it can take a while to get your food served as sometimes just one (owner) person there ,so if in a rush consider elsewhere .Comfy layout and different from usual cafe feel,so slow placed feel

Visited mid week with family and greeted very welcomly. We all ordered paninis with various fillings and side salad. Absolutely delicious and lovely dressing on salad. Complimentary cake was the perfect finish to a lovely lunch. We will definitely be back for more.

Since moving to B.S. nearly 4 years ago from London the pace of life is quite evident. People have more time for each other and pass the time of day. Many's the time we've caught a bus because of the slower pace here than in the city.

The beauty of TripAdvisor is that it has the potential to open doors to little known, independent establishments that offer significantly more, and often for less. With almost all reviews touting a 5 Star experience I thought Nostimo would be another Gem... unfortunately it was wide of the mark.

Perfect to go in and have a bite to eat and a drink, the owners couldn't be friendlier, it has a great atmosphere to it. I go in there all the time, and the quality is always consistently brilliant.

Visited here with my partner and newborn baby. Lovely selection of tea and a very generous coffee. Given 2 glasses of water without having to ask. Very accommodating and kind with our newborn who was a little unsettled. Will be visiting again.

Enjoyed a superb well filled panini, Greek salad on the side, amazing large coffee and complimentary cake for 2 people for just over £11! The spinach and feta pies we brought home were excellent too!

I am Greek and I am so happy I can find this delicious original spinach pie in B.Stortford! I discovered Nostimo today and I will be certainly returning for more.

Each time when we go we drink most delicious Greek black coffee that owner makes us and drink it with Greek honey instead of sugar! The owner is willing to share his vast knowledge of herbs; teas etc. and has a cure for everything! Do ask for tasty cheese pies and mince meat pies and if you want something sweet there is a whole range of Greek deserts! As far as atmosphere goes makes you feel right at home! Really happy we have such a variety of cafés in the town, but this is our definite favourite!

We love this place. The coffee is really good, competitively priced and always served with a small something to nibble on! The Greek pie lunches are very tasty and mega cheap. Nice environment, very relaxed. Best thing is the service, the family are lovely.

I really need to visit this little place more it is an absolute delight. The owner is charming and friendly and his coffee is great. The atmosphere relaxed and friendly and I spent quite a while browsing the shelves for gift ideas. The town has a lot of coffee shops but this is definitely one of the better ones.

This place is slightly out of the main town but I'd say it's well worth the visit. The welcome is always friendly and the owner is very pleasant.

I popped in here a few weeks ago after a busy gym session with a friend. It was freezing outside but very cosy and welcoming inside with a very pleasant owner. We ordered coffees and they came over promptly with a complimentary slice of brioche each. I was also touched that he suggested we might like a glass of water after we'd obviously been to the gym. I've been back a few times since as its a good place to have a quiet chat. The only drawback is that there are no loos but as its so small I can appreciate this might be tricky to fit in.

I met some friends in Nostimo today and was very pleasantly pleased with the ambience and the delightful aroma of this cafe. The owner was welcoming and made great coffee and served excelent tea ( in a pot ) we had Vegan coffee and Gluton free muffins.

Since I was first introduced to Nostimo by a friend, I have either popped in for lunch or a takeaway panini fairly regularly. If you're eating in - the panini comes with salad, the coffee with cold water and (I assume Greek) cake and at about 25% less than most of the established coffee shops.

To be honest I wasn't going to leave a review as I don't want too many people knowing about this place! I noticed it gets busier and busier at lunchtime. But jokes aside these lovely people deserve 10 out of 10 points. What a lovely place - warm welcome, delish coffee and food and unusual shop.

This excellent Greek Deli cum cafe is a real asset to the town, if you haven't yet come across it, wander down South Street and you won't be disappointed! Dimitrios is a charming happy host who brings a touch of the Mediterranean when you enter. Fresh coffee, tasty paninis and an array of Greek pastries. Prices are very reasonable!

Still so so yummy. Such a friendly couple and for those who dont know...ask for a chicken aubergine feta and walnut wrap....absolutely delicious and they seem to now have a bigger olive oil selection and a bit lighter than a pannini
