Luckily popped in whilst in the area.An absolute gem of a pub..Staff were super friendly .Great selection of beers and cider plus great food..Shame about the choice of football team but you can't have it all..Well worth a visit. Will definitely visit again..Superb.

Super meal with super staff. Food was delicious. we had wrack of ribs and beef brisket. Bloody brilliant! Beer was superb. Had Fuzz and it was great.

Arrived later than expected no problem thank you to the staff 👍 ordered the brisket salad and was amazed with the quality what was delivered . The service was excellent and the food was exceptional, best brisket I’ve had for a long time wow did not need the mustard my fault .it’s a must if you love good food 👌

The old traditional pub is a real find. The owners are on site, not owned by a large corporation. The staff are excellent, so helpful. The food is amazing , the meat is top quality and cooked to perfection. Very good value for money.Well worth a visit.

Had the most incredible meal with my family here last month. We all agreed the food was to die for, the service impeccable and such a lovely warm welcoming environment. Thank you for such a fantastic experience, we will be back. X

My family and I went last Saturday evening. The food was Gorgeous and the service was great. But we had 2 lady’s who were disabled one was elderly and the steps into the restaurant were steep and not for disabled so we will book in the bar next time. Also there needs to be menus in the restaurant as not everyone can go to the blackboard to see what’s on there. And I know the pub is dog friendly but we found it awkward when we walked in the door as the dogs were laying just inside with there leads laying on the floor or dragging behind them. Being disabled and trying to pass them was awkward and i didn’t want my elderly mum falling over. But the dog owners did move them after a while. We will go again but be aware the steps into the pub are uneven if your disabled and so is the car park best to drop people off then park. I think the pub needs to do something to make it easier for disabled people to enter. But all in all we had a lovely evening.

Great pub! Lovely atmosphere, Fantastic food, cannot recommend highly enough.

Came here for a meal after hearing great things about the meat selection available, especially a sharer platter. Unfortunately the sharer platter wasn't on the menu, so I assumed that it wasn't available and didn't ask either. The menu is on a big chalk board in the main bar area with many options to choose from. I went for the Brisket and Pulled Pork with coleslaw and chips (asked for zero green stuff on my plate) and received exactly that! The brisket was perfectly cooked and it melted in the mouth. A beautiful texture with a peppery crust. Possibly could've done with two slices of it as it was that good! The pulled pork was amazing too, not too saucy, nice and tender and packed full of flavour! The slaw seemed a bit onion heavy, but no complaints about that! Better than it being saturated with cabbage or carrot. The fries were also really nicely done, I seasoned mine with salt. All this was washed down with a pint of Fuzz by Baron Brewery (a local bunch of lads putting out some fantastic beers) I believe it was a 4.5% pale. For pudding I had raspberry and white chocolate roulade which was absolutely amazing! All in all a fantastic bit of food, drink and service. Will definitely return again and recommend to friends and family! Please sort out a meat platter for the anti-vegetable people though ;)

Wife suprised me and my son with this restaurant. Live in nearby village but not even seen this pub. Cracking food had fajitas and brisket all a bit different. Nice beer and decent price, good chat with landlord will be back.

A return visit after first eating here on Easter Sunday. We initially came here after hearing about the meat sharing platters and were slightly disappointed that they are only available Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We ended up having Sunday roasts and burgers between the six of us and the food was great. Three of us returned Saturday night for another meal, a sharing platter and chicken fajitas were had. The sharing platter was great, tasty and generous. When the fajitas came out I almost wished I’d ordered them because they smelt amazing. I’ll be having them next time. Friendly, efficient, staff and just a lovely place to visit.

Had heard great things about this country pub. A group of 10 of us went for dinner and it didn’t disappoint. The food was wonderful (very meat orientated) and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Some great beers and nice wines at a very reasonable price available. Friendly locals too. Will definitely be going back and recommending to friends and family.

We visited for Sunday Lunch as a family. Food was perfectly cooked, presentation was thoughtful and attractive and the service friendly. Great choice for coeliacs- they should advertise that and I even had a gluten free yorkshire pudding!! We will be back.

A little jewel in the countryside. Halloween was close and the place inside and out was full of atmosphere and fun. Locals and staff were great laugh and the food was perfect. Looking forward to a visit at Christmas, the menu is looking really good. The landlord obviously has great pride in everything he does, very clean and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit

Great evening, we had a fabulous meal for 19, served hot and on time, everyone commented on how tasty their meals were. Take outs given for our leftovers. The waiting staff were very polite and helpful. It really was an excellent evening, well done and a huge thank you. 🫶🏻

Had a delicious Sunday roast and scrumptious pudding - I had the knickerbocker glory, but others on our table had the chocolate & honeycomb cheesecake which looked divine. We arrived early for our booking (6 adults, 1 child and 1 dog) so expected to wait, but service was excellent and our meals were all on the table in no time at all, which was served before our booking time. We ate in the bar as we had a dog, but the atmosphere was still great. Cannot recommend enough and we look forward to returning another time

This is a lovely pub with very warm and friendly owners, someone recommended this pub to me and I really wasn’t disappointed, the food was really gorgeous and the portions were very generous, nothing was too much trouble and we were looked after very well, the landlady is very pleasant and so efficient and the landlord is a very plaisant man, I highly recommend this pub

We had a Memorial Interment for my late Mother-in-Law on Saturday. There was 24 of us for a sit down meal. We had pre-ordered our meals, which is understandable for the amount of us but I must say the service was absolutely fantastic and the food all came out at the same time - what a challenge that was for the staff too! The food was absolutely lovely and hot too and everyone enjoyed their lovely main course and finished off with lovely desserts too. The atmosphere was so welcome and Emma (The Land Lady), Laura and Emma's Sister couldn't do enough for us. Barry, The Landlord, is a great host too. A definite visit is highly recommended and you are made to feel so welcome. Thank you so much Emma and Barry, Laura and Emma's little Sister for making a memorable day for Eileen.

Wonderful burgers at the Blind Fiddler Anstey tonight. The ultimate Fiddler burger is a chesse burger, bacon, generous brisket slice from the smoker in a brioche bun. The Vegan burger was the other order and that got the thumbs up as well. Great friendly service thanks Blind Fiddler going home a happy well fed couple.

We found this pub by chance on the way home. The food and welcome were fantastic. Would definitely make the journey to eat there again.

Went to try their famous Smoker plater and have to say it’s the best thing out there you have to try it and manage to finish it is a challenge!! Excellent service and a real country pub atmosphere

Good pub with good beer and food. July 2022, just had a week at Anstey and used the Blind Fiddler for food and drink, here's a bit of an update and I can honestly say the pub has been superb, the owners Barry and Emma serve fantastic food and very nice real ale, the beer garden out the back of the pub is great and has well spaced tables with sun umbrellas for shade. Barry and Emma are very friendly and chat to everyone and make sure everyone is happy and catered for, would highly recommend for food and drink.

I’ve lived in a surrounding village for over a year and had always commented that I’d like to pop in for a pint. It looks very inviting. My partner booked a table and pre ordered the Smoke house platter. It is absolutely superb. We managed to get half way through it and took the rest home. This is a quality village pub and all the food coming out looked top notch. By far better value than any of the other village pubs and I I am fond of a couple of them too. Can’t wait to go back even if it is for a quick pint.

Oh my god!!!! I cannot tell you how amazing this little gem is!!! I cannot believe we have lived in reed this long and never travelled 10 mins down the road to this amazing pub. Food was unbelievable and better than bodeans and red dog!!! Can’t wait to go back. The smokehouse meat platter is the best thing we have ever eaten

Called in today after completing a 10 mile ramble. Perfect after a long walk, very friendly lady behind the bar. Although they weren't serving lunches today as they were awaiting new supplies after the New Year, we were given a huge bowl of cheesy nibbles on the house. A delightful pub, very clean with a log fire. I'm sure we'll pay a return visit soon and sample their lunch menu. Many thanks.

This is a nice little country pub. Service is very good (the woman at the bar was really nice), the Christmas decorations are very nice (specially the Christmas town they have built up), and it is very cosy. The Sunday Roast was delicious, it tasted like homemade, but the starters were quite poor. I would say they should improve the product.

Delish roast beef dinner. Hubby had a special burger that was huge, also delish, daughter had a vegan burger & fries which she thoroughly enjoyed. Very friendly staff & dogs are allowed.

Only moved to area recently and thought we would try this pub for the first time on Saturday evening with family. The 4 of us all had food from the smoker, no joke, its the best food we have had in a very long time. I had the beef short rib, wow, absolutely delicious. When you read reviews, sometimes you have to take them with a pinch of salt, however, this was definitely 5 stars, If I could give 6 I would - will definitely be back. Thanks for a great evening and making us feel very welcome !

Having visited often for drinks and enjoyed the very good beers and wines, this week we sampled their menu.. OUTSTANDING! Not sure what else to say.. service great.. price great.. beer and wine great.. food superb!!! A Friday or Saturday visit ensures the “smoker” menu is available and be sure you are hungry before you attend!

Part of group of twelve who had Sunday lunch. Did preorder but served promptly. Friendly and efficient staff. Large Sunday roast was enjoyed by those who had it. The two substantial pieces of ham, salad and baked potatoes was very enjoyable but the potato was very small. Large dish of crumble and custard good. Overall we thought we had good food at a reasonable price. Good 6 mile walk from this pub.

Went here because we miss proper bbq places since moving out of london and absolutely loved it everything was good but the brisket wow just wow I really cant wait to go back here and get some more top quality bbq thanks again

Lovely staff, turned up after 2 so no food on however they were happy to make us a sandwiche gratis. Great location, so peaceful, would happily return for a pint and another sandwiche!

Tried the menu from the newly installed Smoker oven. It was superb. Lots of melt in the mouth meat cooked to perfection. Pulled pork, chicken, beef brisket also chips and a bean sauce. My wife and I had the platter for two. Should be described as the platter for three minium. Very good value to say the least. Suggest you book, it is becoming very popular and due to the time, it takes to cork there is only a limited amount. Enjoy!

I'd looked at their website, which had led me to expect very good food in nice surroundings. We arrived around opening time - 12 noon - on a Wednesday - as I'd read they don't do food Mon or Tues. The pub seemed a bit run down and shabby, and when we asked about food they said that they were having a new smoker installed, and I got the impression that if we wanted food it was going to be limited and a long wait. They weren't apologetic and we didn't feel welcomed, so we went on to the Fox and Hounds in Barley where we had an excellent lunch; but I don't think we'll be trying again at the Blind Fiddler.

Great food and great service, we will definitely be returning to this gem.

My daughter and I visited on Easter Sunday and we thoroughly enjoyed our home cooked roast. Portions were plentiful and very tasty. She then joined in the Easter egg hunt and bouncy castles in the garden before we cycled back home.

Popped in for a light lunch and some ales. London Pride was well kept and the homemade food excellent. I had veg mousaka, fresh crisp salad. We will return .

A lovely Pub / Restaurant in a nice Village in lovely countryside. We had a family of 8 booked for Sunday lunch on Easter Sunday, It was really very good, with everyone in our group very satisfied. They had an Easter egg hunt on, with a bouncy castle, a Land rover for the kids to climb on, and a band, and a Hog Roast for the late afternoon. I can't wait to go back. On our visit, they did not take card payments, but were looking into setting it up. So ask before booking.

I was starving hungry and came across this pub seemingly in the middle of nowhere. I was a bit dubious as on the outside it didn't appear as if the food was going to be that good. I ended up taking a chance and getting a burger, and I'm glad I did! It was a fantastic homemade burger. The meat patty was the size of my fist and tasted amazing. If I end up in those ends again I will definitely pop in for another burger !

Visited here with my walking group. Sixteen of us for Sunday lunch. Food was superb and reasonably priced, also great service from the friendly waitresses. Highly recommended.

Vegetarian option very nice. Best yorkshire pudding I've had 'out' in a very long time. The mint, apple and horseradish sauce should of been on the table as we all had pre ordered. Staff pleasent

I’m not one to write on these sites however I just had to having visited the pub today for Sunday lunch. With out a shadow of a doubt one of the best Sunday lunches we have had in recent years. The food was great where we all had the different meats on offer it didn’t matter which one you chose beit the Beef, Pork or Chicken they were all fab! Highly recommended. Was our first time we had been here won’t be our last! Even the grandkids ate the lot!

While staying with friends in the area visited the Blind Fiddler for dinner. Classic English country pub with friendly locals and their dogs. Hosts Barry & Emma are the most welcoming and friendly people you could expect to find and our visit was a delight. Food was excellent, unpretentious and delicious, but be warned the portions are generous.
