Nice place to sit outside for a drink

Nice Little pub and the staff are friendly and helpful they have a garden so you can sit outside and they also have a burger van in the back garden

Nice quiet little pub, early stop on a tour of Sawbridgeworth. One of the nicer of the pubs in the area in my opinion, McMullen ales in excellent condition

Always friendly and a lovely warm feeling. Especially like the subdued lighting which adds to the feeling!

Would have been 5's, but had to be careful not to block the TV when up at the bar.

Popped in for early drink, the pub is on a island surround by road but only on of them is little busy during rush hour. Got a warm welcome from the Lady serving and beer and a glass of 175ml was £8.40 so not expensive. There are two bar front and rear, the rear with big screen for sport. There were lots of large hanging barkets of flowers which still looked good mid September. Was welcomed by a little dog and the pub is dog friendly. Sat outside by back fencing and there was a little smell, which needs to be addressed. Had a resident little Robin popping in and out bushes, never got a picture.

Open mic night first Thursday of the month, brilliant night great music Good beer. Not to be missed!

Not particularly friendly Popped in with my son told ‘ not doing tea at the moment’ How difficult is it to make tea for customers? Will go elsewhere

Very supportive and friendly and helpful staff and regulars. I broke down close by on my motorbike and there warm welcome was very pleasant.

A great pub with a warm welcome

Went for a couple of drinks with my girlfriend yesterday... pretty embarrassing when we walked inside to find a group of lads of about 8 lads together ( no harm in that ) but all the bar staff not wearing masks, yet we walk in and we’re told to put them on! Only to see when we sat outside the woman who told us to put masks on was cuddling & welcoming some customers.. do me a favour and re think what you’re doing and what you’re telling people in future..

My friend and I run into the George while we where out walking and the heavens opened and we got soaked! Went in the pub asking for a coffee to warm us up, which we got with a smile while we dripped water onto the floor. It looks a very nice pub and we will call in again. 👍👍

Was my home way back in 1989,remember it having a brilliant darts team back then also the pub crawls round Sawbridgeworth were legendary!! I was a young fresh faced 18 year old working the bar and my parents the landlords 👍

Just passing through..... explained to bar manager my prefered local brew and he helped me select a local brew that might suit myvtaste.... a good choice of best bitter. Thank you.

I love this pub very traditional, very friendly and always get served quickly, Dawn and her team are experienced bat staff so there’s no fuss with drinks.

Put a complaint in about the lemonade being flat. The owner was rude and said we would have to have another drink as they arent wasting things when they are fine! So rude and arrogant.

Stopped off for a well deserved pint halfway through a sunday morning walk. Pub is clean, service was polite and a good selection of beers available. Only stayed for a drink this time but will visit again.

Six people, rained on, in need of warmth and sustenance, turned away. Why? We had a small damp cocker with us. Kept him outside, asked politely if we could come in, turned away. Landlady suggested we went elsewhere, perhaps somewhere which served food. We didn't need or want nor ask for food. Took our £30+ custom elsewhere, as suggested!
