We had a long 15 minute wait before our order was taken. The tea was brought over soon after, but we waited another 20 minutes plus for the food. The tea by this time was lukewarm. The food suffered from a mixture of being overcooked and undercooked. For instance my bacon was so overcooked it was brittle, whilst my sausage was pale and only visibly cooked on one side. The hashbrown had a rock like outer crust with burnt edges. The mushrooms were dry and the toast was cold. The butter was cold too and because there was no warmth from the toast it wasn’t spreadable. The egg was runny and well cooked but the tomato was tasteless. The staff was a mixed bunch. The woman who greeted us at the door was far from welcoming and she also took our payment. The till is at the back and the card reader isn’t by the front for customers to tap. We had to ask to pay by card and then for the card reader, as she just stood there. She seemed pleased with herself that she had made the whole process awkward. The lady who took our order was pleasant but she seemed genuinely unhappy. The vibe amongst the staff was a group of hung over teenagers. Needless to say, the next day of our holiday we went elsewhere for breakfast, which was a shame because the restaurant itself (not food/staff) was quite nice.

First time there and disappointed. Chips underdone. Panini's not good ham and cheese no way melted! Cheesy chips had cheese in one heap! Sausages were good. Out front staff excellent let down by the food. Difficult to converse as very noisy. Parking and Garden Centre good. Not likely to eat there again when visiting the Garden Centre. Maybe it was so popular time restraints effected the quality of the food preparation and could not cope. Less is more.

Called in today for a spontaneous lunch as we've not been before. First impressions were mixed, it's not 'trendy' and fashionable but probably best not to make it so. It was busy but we were shown to a table quickly. There's plenty to choose from on the menu and there is a daily specials board. The deserts and cakes looked fantastic. I chose the special of minced beef patty (tray baked pie like school dinners). It came with onion gravy, mash (served from a scoop like school dinners) and some nicely cooked veg. It was absolutely delicious! The meat was tasty, tender with no gristle. The veg was perfectly cooked and the thick onions gravy was spot on. My wife had a toasted sandwich which was also lovely. Its clear there were lots of regulars here and all the food looked excellent. Its unpretentious, simple well cooked food and great value. The staff were friendly and welcoming, we'd not hesitate to go back.

I have been recommended this place by lots of people, so my friend and I decided to try it out. All but one of the staff looked pretty miserable and there wasn't a very good atmosphere in there at all. Our orders were taken by a gentleman who was a bit frosty which made us feel uncomfortable. The coffee served up tasted like instant coffee, but what we couldn't believe was the miserable scrap of cheesecake which we both ordered, which we were charged £5 per slice for! Looking around people were eating bacon sandwiches which weren't far off £5 and looked like they were made of thinly sliced processed white bread. I don't know if they are new owners, but it's definitely nothing like I'd heard!

We haven't been here for a while but yesterday visit was very disappointing. We didn't go for any thing specific but knew the Christmas displays would be set up. It was near midday so thought we would have a coffee first as only about half a dozen people in the cafe we got shown to a table quite quickly but then waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken. I had a cream tea but the tea was disgusting, very weak and hubby had a BLT sandwich which consisted of loads of LT but very little B After lunch we started our wander which ended very quickly as very little Christmas was to be seen. The whole experience involved very little atmosphere and grumpy looking staff. Very sad as both cafe and shop use to be of a high standard

Next time we go will go for lunch, but you do need to book otherwise you may not get a table as it is so popular with locals and visitors alike.

My mum has dementia and visits with her carer at least once a week. The staff, particularly Mark, are exceptional with her; understanding, caring and supportive. Mark goes out of his way to welcome her and keep her amused during her visit. He takes their order at the table to save the carer leaving mum and notices when she needs help, like today, changing her cup for an easier one to use. The food is of good quality and nicely portioned and presented. I can't thank you enough for the support you give to my mum, it can be hard to find places that are dementia friendly, you should make more of a noise about what you do for being dementia-friendly, and perhaps even enhance your offering by talking to the local Alzheimers society or families who support those living with dementia as we do.

Bit confusing really. My husband asked if our dog was allowed in, he was told 'no'. Didn't realize there was outside seating, virtually in the car park, but on seeing it we sat there. Thought this could have been pointed out to us. I went in to see if they were serving food at around 2.45, the guy glanced at his watch and told me rather abruptly, if you're quick. Didn't feel very welcome but we were hungry. The lady that brought the food out was very nice and the food was good. Perhaps the gentleman was having an off day!

My husband and I called into the garden Centre to purchase a pot for our garden. Before going home we stopped at the cafe/restaurant for lunch. We saw one table had a reserved sign so sat at the one next to it with no sign. I was then about to look at the menu when a male member of staff told us to get up as it was for another couple who were following him! I said there is no reservation sign to say so. I got up thinking there must be another table he has for us but no. He asked what time scale we were on and would we be wanting any food. I explained we had already looked around and wanted something to eat before leaving. He still was dithering so I said don't bother and we left. I have never ever been to a place to eat to be asked to get up from a empty table with no reservations sign. How rude. If there was one of course we wouldn't have sat there. The member of staff could have suggested we all shared the table as four chairs to avoid the upset. We left extremely disappointed and had to go straight home as in no mood to continue with our bank holiday day out. This was our first and last visit here. We cannot rate the food or drink as we unfortunately did not get that far. The customer service was awful.

We visit here most weeks for coffee and occasionally for lunch. Being a retired Tearoom proprietor I sit and observe the staff going about their work and I have to say that the person who impresses me the most is Martin (I only found out his name today...we always refer to him as 'that nice chap') Martin has a natural ability to deal with customers. He is friendly, obliging and is an excellent 'people person' so much so that I wish I had had the good fortune to employ him myself back in the day. I sincerely hope that his employers realise what a treasure he is and that they truly value him. He is a diamond, and there are not too many of those around these days.

Visited a lady who has just moved to North Walsham and we decided to eat here. I phoned in advance to say that I was bringing a lady in a wheelchair and to book. Lady on the phone was very welcoming and helped with directions. It was a bitterly cold day and we were glad to get inside out of the cold. The restaurant was very busy indeed. We were shown to a table that had plenty of space for the wheelchair. The waiter apologised for the slightly slower than usual service but 2 staff were off sick. Drinks came quickly followed by the food. Portions here are large. Close to being off-putting. Food was very fresh and beautifully cooked. We were not offered a dessert but that did not matter as we were full up. I am sure that with a full staff service would have been better but we were not in a hurry. Would definitely go again. Prices are reasonable and food good. Probably would go on a week day next time. This is likely to be our "go-to" eatery in future. Enjoyed the visit and will see if they have a full staff next time.

We both had tuna bake paninis and coffees. The paninis were what I would call "proper" paninis, that's to say bulging at the seams with tuna and cheese, not one of those thin shrink-wrapped excuses you so often get, typically from the national coffee chains. I ordered a bacon sandwich with a black coffee, both of which were good and at a price like £4.50 you can't complain, however the bacon sandwich was pretty small. My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian breakfast and a cold soft drink, her breakfast wasn't as good; the mushrooms had been deep-fried and the rest of the meal was pretty average. The coffee in fairness was good and nice that reduced price refills were offered. There were five of us and all had jackets with various toppings, sadly and unforgivably for me is that the jacket potatoes were microwaved and starchy a very unpleasant texture. The baked beans were definitely not a premium brand, they tasted cheap. The prawns were ok but would expect more than 10 shrimp sized prawns bound in masses of mayonnaise. We then made the mistake of finishing off with fruit scones that were raw in the middle. Sadly disappointing from start to finish will not be going back.

My wife and I went looking for specific plants which we found as well as others and whilst there decided to have an early lunch. I had a slice of chicken and ham pie with chips etc, outstanding and a real home made pie (bit of a pastry chef myself) my wife went for scampi also very good. Service was excellent venue very comfortable. Good job we were early as it soon filled up and this was midweek. Prices were average but good value given the quality of the food. This is on our revisit list, highly recommended.

We visited twice, on the first visit we had the All Day Breakfast which was delicious and fantastic value for money. On the second visit we asked if we could have alternatives to the menu. Menu = scrambled egg on toast, changed to poached egg on toast. Menu = fried egg, bacon and beans, changed to scrambled egg, sausage and beans. Staff were very friendly, nothing was to much trouble

We visited the garden centre last Sunday. We got there about 12.30 and were glad we did as it soon filled up. Seems to be a very popular place. I had the chilli followed by syrup sponge. The food was really good and the staff were very nice. Would certainly return.

Due to moving to the area myself and two children (2 & 5 months) decided to go for a breakfast one afternoon. As soon as we walked in I felt unwelcome. I was struggling with holding my toddlers hand and carrying the car seat and stood near the counter for around 10 mins before I asked if I could possibly sit down. I was told 'yes' so I sat down at a near by table. Got the kids settled and my toddler in a seat. The man working then comes to tell me to move half way around the table or sit outside and basically barked at me to order at the counter. Very uncomfortable experience. After deciding what I wanted to order I walked across to the counter having to leave the children to wait again although countless staff were wondering around doing nothing. Horrible experience. The food was ok.

I love this Garden Centre. Yes it may be smaller than the large garden centre chains.....but that is its charm. The individual help from friendly and professional staff is wonderful. Thank you.Cannot comment on the Restaurant as only visited Garden Centre.

We only had a coffee in the café the man who served us did not go out of his way to be friendly no Good Morning blah blah, but the coffee was good, its not a place I would revisit though not because of the service we all have bad days, but due to the dated décor it was depressing.

Me and my sister went for a bite to eat with my mum here last weekend. It's a very cute little tea room and really well priced. They have a menu typical of any garden centre- jacket potatoes, salads, sandwiches and then cakes and sausage rolls. We received pleasant and prompt service even though it was busy- I particularly liked that my pot of tea was huge! I would go here again, these little businesses need our support :)

We visit this lovely garden centre café at least twice a week since retiring to the area 18 months ago. The latte is absolutely the best in Norfolk. The food is delicious and well presented. Lovely and clean and well organised. The staff are friendly and smiley. The garden centre itself has a lovely shop selling seasonal goodies and treats. We purchased several roses for our garden and they have thrived very well. The prices are very reasonable too. Please visit this place....you wont be disappointed.

We have been enough times for lunch here now to know that it is great value for money. Service is prompt, friendly and welcoming and nothing Is ever too much trouble. The fact that it is so well patronised by the OAP generation is a testament to its appeal. You'd have to go a long way to find another outlet where it is a real pleasure to enjoy a few hours over good, honest, home-cooked food. For those with a sweet tooth the desserts are especially good - try the fig and walnut sponge : it's a "bake off" winner !

The coffee was hot, the freshly baked scone, warm restaurant, great friendly service & best advise on plants I had chosen for the garden. The big bonus was knowing the nursery raised plants were healthy. Well done to all the staff...

This is not Claridges, but gives you what it says on the tin.Great value for money,no surprise catering, excellent service, but oh so tired decor, bordering on dreary.Feels more uplifting in sunny weather,as you can sit outside. One small observation, the scones vary depending on who it is "supplies"or bakes them.

I must admit I wasn't expecting much when I agreed to meet with colleagues to eat at a garden centre.I'm not local to this area so didn't know anything about it.There was a warm welcome and attentive service, no stress that some of our party were a little late, and then we took ages to order .All of our meals were good .Nobody could fault it, hot tasty and plentiful.Main course , a pudding and 2 soft drinks for around £17.Would eat here again.

We arrived at this rather dreary cafe to have coffee and cake and a good old catch up on a Saturday at 4pm as the cafe was open until 5pm. The man behind the counter made it clear that he wanted to close up and, after we'd ordered, he actually started hoovering! I can understand wanting to get home after a long day but if you want to start hoovering at 4pm then you should close at 4pm. He was nice enough, although you could tell he would just rather we weren't there. Also, there's no fresh milk served with tea or coffee, just UHT pots, which is not the best. Although he wanted us gone he was MUCH nicer than the short haired woman on the checkout in the actual garden centre itself. She was very, very hostile. Just unbelievably rude. I've been served by her before and she was that way then too but I had assumed that it must just have been a bad day. We had dinner elsewhere with friends and relayed the story and they knew exactly who we meant and they told us she's so awful that they now go elsewhere. Sadly, we'll be doing the same in future too, I really don't feel I can recommend the cafe or the garden centre to anyone who cares even slightly about people being rude to them. Such a shame. ****Please note. This turns in to a grill restaurant in the evening with a different menu and different staff and that may well be OK (in terms of service, it can't be any worse)

We came in for Lunch today and want to start off by saying that the location is idyllic, the food is delicious and most of the staff are wonderful. However, our meal was completely bulldozed by one member of staff (don’t know her name, elderly, black hair, heavy makeup). Not only would she not leave us alone for the duration of our meal which was very off putting, she proceeded to try to force feed me mushy peas using a dirty spoon off of the floor. At the end of our meal we were sitting and enjoying our drinks when she then took them from our table, we were considering getting coffees but felt very pressured to leave after such disastrous service. We are honestly embarrassed for you at No 1, that kind of behaviour was not very becoming at all…. What would have been the perfect meal out ended up being a complete nightmare.

Sadly the food didn’t match the lovely welcoming service. Sunday lunch was expensive - £20 for a trio of roasts. The veg was odd - leeks and carrot with some very hard brocolli. Overcooked roast potatoes and parsnips. Potential to be a nice Sunday lunch but needs a fair bit of work. £20 is a lot for a toast but this place really cannot justify the price, sorry 😔

Over priced! £11.95 for toasted sandwich that came with small side salad, small pot shop bought coleslaw and handful chips. Had bacon and brie filling with so much cranberry it tasted more like jam sandwich. With a coffee each bill came to £33. Most costly lunch I've had for ages. Won't be rushing back.

Down in Worstead on wee business trip, asked about possibility of lunch nearby and were directed to the White Lady. It was around 14:30 on a Sunday afternoon so expectations weren't too high (would have settled for a sandwich...). Friendly welcome, assured food would be no problem and we're given 3 menus! We're invited to sit anywhere we chose so opted for window seat in dining area to rear. We both opted for Sunday roast topside. Absolutely fantastic. Beef cooked to perfection, awesome roast potatoes and Yorkshire pud, came with glazed chantenay carrots, buttered green beans and zingy red cabbage, jug of lush gravy and topped of with dish of unctuous Cauliflower and cheese (each by the way). Thinking about making the 3 hour drive again just to have that experience again.
