Two of us were happy to return here for another good carvery meal. Once again the Roast Beef was some of the tenderest and tastiest we have eaten. The vegetables were all piping hot and freshly cooked, service from the bar staff and kitchen staff is very friendly. The building is a Working Men’s Club and is not high on frills but it makes up for this by the warm welcome and good carvery food. We are happy to recommend the North Blyth Bar to anyone wanting a home cooked great value carvery. We will certainly return for another good meal here.

Bought as a Group on, so thought we’d try it out. A little out of the way. Place itself in need of a refurbishment, staff were friendly and pleasant. Food average, basic carvery, lovely gravy , that was the best bit of the experience.

Took me back in time to great old working men's clubs. The carvery is served in the "concert room". Bit tired and in need of a decorating, but....the food was superb. Hot, plentiful, loads of choice (inc mince and dumplings which was delish 😋). Friendly staff and locals. Decent glass of wine at sensible prices too. No complaints at all. We're back next week!!

Enjoyed Sunday lunch with my sister, and we are ladies that lunch, whenever we can. We both enjoyed the wonderful home cooked meal, the meats looked good even though I am meat free. The vegetables were fabulous and what a choice, (about 10 including potatoes) The best mashed potatoes and mushy peas. It is very good value at normal prices. We got a great deal on a Groupon. The staff are all friendly, helpful and very professional. My sister was even able to purchase a takeaway meal for her husband who was at home. Thank you so much.

Two of us enjoyed a very good Sunday lunchtime carvery here. The meats we chose, Turkey and Beef were excellent and very tasty with generous portions. The selection of vegetables was comprehensive though some were a little soft to our tastes. The staff were friendly and welcoming this is in a Working Men’s club so is not big on ambience, but a good value lunch is on offer here. We will certainly return here.

Visited today. 13 Oct 2019. Not in the most salubrious area of Northumberland. However, what a very pleasant surprise. Yes the decor is dated but don't let that fool you. The carvery was very good. Loads of veggies (and proper mushy peas), excellent gravy and a choice of beef, turkey and gammonor all three. There was also mince and dumplings. The dumplings looked awesome but we had that at home last night otherwise it would have been a contender. The staff were very friendly. A bit of a diamond in the rough... As for the report stating there was a stink of stale food... The only thing we could smell upon entry was the aroma of Sunday dinner. They also do a carvery on a Wednesday too. We will be back.

In an age where hipster gastropubs are everywhere and you're more likely to be served your dinner on a slate, shovel or chopping board than a plate, the North Blyth Bar is a welcome relief. Totally unpretentious in it's decor, it harks back to a time when working mens clubs were the heart of a community - a place to relax, eat and drink with canny people who have the time to chat and care about pulling a proper pint. The North Blyth Bar has all that and more. Sundays and Wednesdays they serve up a proper carvery, as carverys should be this one comes with tender delicous meat, crispy roasties, yorkshires to die for and as much of the glorious veg you can handle. This is a proper sunday dinner like your nan used to make it. The rest of the week you can pop in for a pint, a game of pool and a chat with the lovely locals, they'll always make you feel welcome. They also have a free function room which is perfect for big events and parties, Wether you're in the area for a holiday or you live nearby, do yourself a favour and pop in.

North Blyth Bar was actually a Railwaymans Club many moons ago. The decor has not changed much over a long period of time. The club as it was always known to me still has the old fashioned brown wooden wall boards of the 70's painted a magnolia colour. The new owner has tried his best to turn it in a successful bar offering meals to attract business where you can sit down in what was the old function room where they would put on a disco and a game of bingo. Don't get me wrong it is a very large function room to have a party but be warned it stinks of stale food when you walk in due to lack of proper ventilation. The kitchen was converted from what was called 'The Snug' in days gone by. Sunday dinner is offered here but I just couldn't bring myself to try it again because of that stale smell of food. Not much had changed or makes me want to go back. It does seem to be popular on a Sunday when i drive past but dont take my word for it...try it for yourself. Its a real shame because the owner is trying his best but it desperately needs bringing up to date as a bar...it has old fashioned working mans bar wrote all over

Recently had the most fantastic Sunday Lunch. From a choice of Beef, Chicken Breast, Leg of Pork with crackling. I Chose Pork and crispy crackling with Yorkshire. You get to choose and serve yourself with potatoes and veg and a CHOICE of real meat juice gravies! I chose the chefs "Special" roasties ( and MY they are special ) and my favourite veggies spring greens, cauliflower florettes, broccoli and carrots, although there were also mushy peas, swede, parsnips and Cauliflower cheese available. The pork was cooked to perfection, moist and melt in the mouth and came with pork gravy!. Now if I thought the meal couldn't be improved on I was wrong, my server Jordan offered desserts and one of them was chef's home made Trifle which was simply divine! The room was spacious, warm and had a lovely atmosphere with lovely background music. They served fresh coffee AND had a full bar with their own brewed real ale! If I could give this meal 6 stars I would!

We go about 1pm tho they serve 12-3pm on a sunday. there's plenty choice of seating, music in the backround but not loud. always a choice of 3 meats, usually beef, gammon and turkey tho can change sometimes, always have yorkies and stuffing. veg consists of mash potato, mash turnip, cauliflower cheese, parsnips, carrots, roast potatoes, broccoli/cauli, cabbage and mushy peas. puds are usually choc fudge cake, trifle, sponge cake/custard and apple pie tho they are subject to 1st come 1st served. usually get a choice of custard, ice cream or cream. the food is cooked fresh and always nice and hot. 6.95 for carvery, 8.95 inc pudding. drinks are reasonably priced and a good selection aswell as beer brewed on site.

Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.
