The food is really good, but for a chippy it's quite expensive. Also realised after, they charge 30p for a (paper) bag, and didn't ask if I'd want to buy one when ordering despite ordering 2 fish and chips and a kids meal and being alone with a toddler in a push chair. Figured they wouldn't let me pay the 30p on card which was all I had

Aprecio que los costes han subido pero £ 16. 50 está siendo estafado. También se servían salchichas grandes y patatas fritas en una pequeña porción de caja (niño) ... asqueroso. ¡Los lugareños se irán a otro lado, pero tal vez eso es lo que quieres!

Great chippy, had.a jumbo fish which was incredible, best fish quality i have ever had, both front of house and frying team were exceptional and considering how busy the place was could not be faulted, be coming here for years and will continue to do so, menu is well thought out, shop is well maintained and very clean, staff are hardworking and friendly 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Been visiting here atleast once a month for years but the latest visit left us very disappointed. Usually we order 3 regular fish and chips but due to the menu board saying only small and jumbo fish available i ordered 3 small, only to notice just after ordering it states in very small writing 'regular when available' so i asked if they had regular and could i change my order, they had literally only managed to serve the person behind me it was that quick. The request was passed on to the guy frying and wow to say he didn't seem pleased would be an understatement, because he had already put the small fish in the fryer? Awkward. Either you can change the order or not no need to act like i was trying to con the place. Thankfully the girl who was serving me said she could alter the order as people came in and ordered small fish and asked me to give it a minute or two. A few minutes passed and she called me over and asked for a further £13? I asked why is it that much for 3 regular over 3 small fish and she said they are jumbo? I said i asked for regular and she said regular are jumbo? I said i didn't want 3 jumbo as we have had jumbo previously and they are usually very big? So i said I'd take 2 jumbo as we could just share the fish out. All good until we came to share out the fish, we have been to this fish ship many times and i can confidently say the fish where no bigger than the usual regular (one maybe smaller) and no way jumbo! I understand people can have off days and i also understand prices everywhere have gone up but selling regular fish as jumbo resulting in 2 normal portions of fish and chips for £30 is way overpriced. Servers tried their best though. Such a shame.

La petición se le pasó al tipo que se estaba freyendo y ¿guau decir que no parecía contento sería una exageración, porque ya había puesto el pescado pequeño en la freidora? Incómodo. O puedes cambiar el orden o no es necesario actuar como si estuviera tratando de estafar el lugar. Afortunadamente, la chica que me servía dijo que podía alterar el orden cuando la gente entraba y pedía pescado pequeño y me pedía que le diera un minuto o dos. Pasaron unos minutos y me llamó y me pidió 13 libras más. Pregunté ¿por qué es tanto para 3 peces regulares sobre 3 pequeños y ella dijo que son gigantes? Dije que pedí regular y ella dijo regular son gigantes. Dije que no quería 3 jumbo como hemos tenido jumbo anteriormente y suelen ser muy grandes? Así que dije que tomaría 2 jumbo ya que podríamos compartir el pescado. Todo bien hasta que vinimos a compartir los peces, hemos estado en este barco de peces muchas veces y puedo decir con confianza los peces donde no más grande de lo habitual regular (uno tal vez más pequeño) y de ninguna manera gigante! Entiendo que la gente puede tener días libres y también entiendo que los precios en todas partes han subido, pero la venta de pescado regular como jumbo resulta en 2 porciones normales de pescado con papas fritas por £ 30 es muy caro. Los servidores hicieron todo lo posible. Qué pena.

Very decent fish and chip shop. The chips are very very good and the fish is O-K. The reason I didn’t even rate service or atmosphere is cause I got it delivered by one of my relatives. Overall I give it a 3.3 stars 🥋

Aunque el pescado con papas fritas ya no es un asunto barato, obtiene lo que paga y nuestra última excursión de un día a la costa de Yorkshire se redondeó una vez más y se remató con excelentes eglefinos, papas fritas y guisantes de North Bay Fisheries en Scarborough. El personal era atento, pedir es fácil y todo está cocinado fresco a la orden y la comida es consistentemente buena.

Fantastic fish and chips and the homemade fishcake and mushy peas were delicious. Everyone serving was so friendly.

Definitely worth a visit. The queue wasn't too bad and moved quickly and the food is worth waiting for. Staff all lovely, batter delicious as are the chips. We will be back on our next visit thanks 😊

Let me start by saying this is my favourite fish and chip shop in Scarborough. The fact that there is always a queue substantiates my opinion. For a birthday party we ordered a large number of fish and chip suppers for the guests. North bay met our food and time requirements fully, not a single complaint from 120 guests, well done ladies and gents your efforts were really appreciated.

The best fish and chips in Scarborough. Visited twice during a 3 night break we enjoyed it that much! My son now loves scraps but we can't get them at home.

En el camino a este lugar nos dijeron que era el mejor de Scarborough, bueno, no nos decepcionaron. Todo estaba cocinado a la orden y era absolutamente perfecto. Tenía eglefino regular, papas fritas, guisantes y ‘chatarras’. Estaban deliciosos. No es de extrañar que este lugar es galardonado y viene muy recomendado por los lugareños y visitantes por igual.

¿Qué personifica la costa británica más que comer pescado con papas fritas mientras está sentado en un banco? Después de unas cucharadas en el maravilloso pub en la parte superior del barranco, nos dirigimos al chippy. Cada uno tiene una caja que estaba llena de perfección. Bacalao con patatas fritas - probablemente en el extremo superior del rango de precios para una comida para llevar en nuestra experiencia, pero por lo que vale la pena el dinero. En marcha.

Consistently the best fish and chips for 5 years tasting in Scarborough, other UK cities, Southern Europe, and Africa as a very critical time served head chef (2years) and general hospitality manager with 25 years experience. Well done guys, you certainly deserve this review for serving the nations favorite far above the average. Reasonably priced at £12 for 2 medium hadocks and chips makes it an absolute treat with the option of enjoying it in the beautiful Peasholm park just across to road for a peaceful picnic.

We visited here at the beginning of the week and all had chips, peas and fish scraps with curry. The food was delicious and we'd definitely recommend adding the fish scraps to your meal. They were very busy but very organised.

Never being to this fish shop before, we both ordered medium cod and chips, was so tasty, cooked to perfection, could not eat it all, should of got the small portion, will definitely use this fish shop again when we visit Scarborough.

In Scarborough on holiday so popped in after reading the reviews and wasn’t disappointed,it was busy so had a wait but it was worth it,had the medium haddock and it was excellent,and I must mention the counter staff,all very friendly and cheerful,well worth a visit

Great fish and chips, well worth the wait. We both had a small haddock and chips with curry sauce and can't fault a thing. Large portions in each serving. You queue to order and then queue for your food. But the staff have it down to a fine art. Do yourself a favour and get the scraps as well.

We usually call here in the evenings and take our food into the park across to eat them, whatever you choose it's always delicious, whether it's fish and chips or my favourite chips and peas, it's all freshly made, you go in and order and they give you a ticket with a number on then they call you in when your order is ready, usually about 10 mins depending on how busy they are.

One of the best in Scarborough. A little towards the expensive side though. No space to dine in.

If you need the more substantial wooden fork remember to take 10p in cash for each fork, because if you haven't got cash and need to use card/contact less it will cost you £2 !!! With the price of fish & chips these days you would think they would give them to anyone requiring a more substantial fork. !!!

Picked up fish and chips for lunch on Sunday. Very efficient ticketing system so waited less than 10mins for our order despite queue. Lady on the till & serving worked like lightning to take and dish up orders! Huge portions, food was piping hot, battered fish contained lots of fish inside the batter, and was good quality & very tasty fish. Would recommend to friends and visit again.

Second time having fish and chips from here and absolutely outstanding quality both times, can't get any more fresh and tasty! The volume of customers speak for itself! Just a shame they had ran out of mushy peas so I had curry sauce instead which was delicious.

This was the best fish and chip shop in Scarborough and have purchased food here many times. It seemed to be closed the last few times been in Scarborough but happy to see it open last Sunday lunch time. The staff are very efficient and the shop is clean. Purchased haddock and chips as usual. It was OK but not of the quality it was previously. The batter on the fish was over cooked and a little greasy. The chips were very nice. Disappointing.

Agrip the teeth of a mighty gale; camping at the Scalby club site. What better fuel for the coming night of peg-pulling tempests? Wonderful cod, chips and mushy peas. Haddock and chicken nuggets went down a treat with the kids, too. Excellent work!

Had very high hopes for this place but wasnt as good as expected. The chips tasted frozen pre made and the fish was ok. Also the portion sizes of the chips wasnt great either. Its ok but not a patch on the Anchor.

Unfortunately, the greasiness of this meal did not sit well with me and caused some discomfort. However, if you have a strong stomach, I highly recommend it as your first fish and chips experience in Scarborough. The fish is fresh, seasoned, and has a unique flavor that sets it apart from other establishments.

Take away only, large portions cooked fresh limited hrs, advise sharing as large fish and plenty of chips, in takeaway box, good prices if weather nice can sit in Peasholm Park across the road

Unfortunately, the day after our visit, we encountered an issue with our stomachs. It is uncertain whether this was due to the oil used to fry the fish or simply our sensitive digestive systems.

Had a medium fish chips and peas which was delicious and crispy and more than enough. Staff were great too very welcoming Five stars all round !

Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Crispy and light fish batter, and the chips were just right. The service was excellent. We had a small problem with our order and the staff was very prompt and efficient to fix it. Definitely recommend it and will definitely come back next time we're in Scarborough!

I just stopped by for a cheeky fish butty, what a delicious piece of haddock (the ‘small’ serving yet twice the size of the bread cake and just as thick) beautifully cooked in light crispy batter. We are so lucky to have a ‘chippy’ of this quality so close to home.

We stayed in the Park View B&B and we were told that the chippy across the road was highly recommended. Well it was 1 of the best fish and chips we've tasted in a long while. Staff were polite and the portions were absolutely amazing and priced very reasonable for a decent portion. We would definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting Scarborough. We will definitely be back for our favourite fish and chips soon 😋

As we had been sitting in the park across the road for a couple of hours, we decided we wanted something to eat, so we went to this chip shop for our tea. I had Cod and chips and my wife had chips and curry sauce, both of which were delicious, so the day after we went back again.

In 6 visits to Scarborough, sampling fish & chips from various places, North Bay Fisheries is by far and away the best, no question! Meaty fish with a spot on batter (not greasy!), fantastic chips and the mushy peas and curry sauce were sublime!! Great friendly service too. Beyond highly recommended! Matt (Leicester)

Absolutely stunning food ordered a medium haddock which was cooked to perfection with sweet flakes of white meat. Also had a home made fish cake which was equally as exceptional full of white fish. Can’t fault it .

Amazing fish and chips, top quality, would highly recommend. The 4 star service is because I wasn't offered a bag to carry my 2 portions of fish chips and gravy, therefore it was awkward balancing the gravy on the boxes while walking back to the car. Felt like a carrier of some description should at least be offered.

The best fish and chip shop around. Having used Yorkshire for our family trips for the last 10 years I can safely say this is and always has been the best fish and chips we have had. We ordered for 10, everything was cooked fresh there and then and we didn’t wait long at all. The batter is very thin and the quality of the fish is high!

Sadly the food is not as good as last year. We visited scarborough last year & stayed 5 mins walk. Food was fantastic then. This year we stayed the other side of town & drove over but did not enjoy the food. Not saying theres anything wrong with the food, just didnt enjoy it.

Went here on a Friday lunchtime having read the reviews. I certainly wasn't left disappointed. I've been fortunate with my job covering North Yorkshire to sample so many Fish&Chips eateries in the county. Scarborough for me has some of the best, and I would put this right up there.
