Ordered a take away. Arrived very quickly. Onion Bhaji was blackened & very dry. They sent the wrong order and when I rang the restaurant to let them know, the level of customer service was absolutely dreadful. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Rezala, the box said a Chicken Tikka Masala but what they actually sent was a Korma. I think I know the difference between almond and coconut & never in my life have I eaten a pale yellow dish tasting of coconut & nothing like Masala. I was accused of being a liar and the person I spoke to was so extremely rude. We weren’t even asking for our dish or any money off. We have always used them in the past for 20 years but very very disappointed this time & sad to say that never again after the way I was spoken to.

The sign of a good Restaurant is the time it has been there under same ownership. This is one 1 Food always good.a little pricy but if it is good i dont mind paying

absolutely shocking customer care when ordering with uber eats.Noor Jahan made a mistake with the order from uber and failed to send out the missing items. They couldn't wait to put the phone down and said ... sorry we can't help you... not our problem?????? . Will notbe eating with them again. Very disappointing service - in fact ... shocking!

I haven't been there for a number of years. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Social distancing being adhered to was good. We had a number of dishes and they were delicious. Would recommend.

Ordered a take away, apprehensive after last time the food was undercooked. After a while we took a chance and I wish I saved £40. Bland undercooked chicken swimming in its own vile grease and Bombay potatoes looked more like a pile of sweet potato Mash. Flavourless, undercooked and disgusting

We went to this restaurant on a Saturday evening with two friends. Was welcomed like old friends even though we had never eaten there before. The menu isn’t as extensive as most Indian restaurants but some of the items are certainly a bit different, we all had a starter which were reasonably priced . For a main course my wife had Duck Tikka (a first for her) I had Chicken Balti & our friends had a Chicken Biriyani and Tandoori mixed grill . Plus a few side dishes.It’s only a small restaurant & got very busy but at no time did we feel squashed or hemmed in . Service was impeccable & food delicious Would we return: Yes

Booked this on a reccomendation from my husband. We were not disappointed. Smaller than I thought it would be but we didn't feel we were sitting on top of other tables. Friendly staff and not an overwhelming menu making it easy to choose. Prawn dupiaza was tasty and had a good amount of spice. Naan breads fresh and good portions of rice. Butter chicken looked good and my friend liked the dhal dish. Would definitely return.

We have eaten both in the restaurant and ordered a takeaways and are never disappointed. We usually order mixed rice, korma and tikka dishes. The naan breads are very flavourful. Delivery can sometimes be a bit slow but is always worth the wait and arrives hot.

I really enjoyed the Bollywood Blast here! If you're into hot curries, I would recommend a visit to this restaurant. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the service was courteous and efficient. It was great to try something original and I hope to revisit some time.

If you are looking for the real taste of Indian Food DO NOT come here . Food was not tasty at all, portions were small. Not returning

I am 6 months pregnant and was desperately in need of a toilet before getting my long bus journey home-so I went into this establishment, one I have often passed on my journey home and considered eating from. The young man in there REFUSED to let me use the toilet (which is against the law) unless I could show him a LETTER from my doctor to prove I was? Which pregnant woman carries a letter round with them to prove they are pregnant?? Let me point out that I am also showing. I am absolutely furious as this lack of humanity nearly made me have an accident.

We held a surprise 40th Wedding Anniversary meal here on Sunday 26th May 2019. The restaurant were fantastic, the host and service was top notch and the food was amazing! The staff made my parents feel very special and they helped to make their day special.I cannot thank you enough.

Hi all been going to this place for years now. We go there when my Biirthday comes around.Usually all very good good food good service ETC.But this Saturaday 10-11-18 booked a table origianally for 11 but after 3 drop outs it was 9. I text them regualrly about new numbersBut when we got there after walking in pooring rain. No table ??? at 8:20 we eventaully got the table.This was really annoying as 9 of us stood around in resturant they didnt even offer us a drink or even a discounted bill for this mess up.Will we go hear next year?? Who knows??Very disapointed in this.Tony

I should probably preface my review by saying that I'm very fond of spicy food and particularly Indian cuisine. Being a travelling actor, I have experienced outlets of Indian cuisine throughout areas of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland whenever on tour. Noor Jahan is the best I have come across over the years. Being also a resident of Sutton, I've experienced both the restaurant and their takeaway service. The first thing to note is that the takeaway option does not see a drop in the quality of the food whatsoever. Whether coming for a sit-down meal or a takeaway, the quality is always high. The waiters are friendly and approachable, the restaurant itself is nicely decorated. I can't speak for some dishes, as I generally go for the spicy options, but my partner often has the Saag Paneer, and always enjoys it. From my own experience, the Madras and Vindaloo dishes are wonderfully cooked and do not compromise on quality of food, even as the Scoville scale is turned up, something which some other Indian outlets can sometimes do. Finally, the portions are very generous and the price at which this food is offered makes it incredibly good value. It's lovely to have this restaurant in the heart of Sutton, and I look forward to many future meals there.

My wife and I didn't know where to go as it was a last minute decision to eat out. We thought we try this place out. My first impression was that it was a bit rowdy and decided against leaving as we were both hungry.We ordered brinjal bhajee (aubergines-this was very tasty and the best dish), duck tikka (a bit tough), naan and lamb biryani (not bad). The meal was acceptable but I wouldn't recommend the atmosphere especially for a couple who might want to talk.The decor is a bit cheap and tired. The folding toilet door lock fell off as I closed it.

After our regular curry house closed we have been looking for a new place & the waiter from there got in touch to say he was working here & that we would like it. He wasn't wrong!Made our 1st visit last night and what a gem of a place, staff are friendly, helpful and attentive without being intruding, food was delicious, not one dish was disliked, all served hot and fresh.Looking forward to going back very soon !

I had a take-away including a bottle of “House Wine” which turned out to be 7% ABV grape juice - not what I was expecting!

Decided to return here after a few years from the last visit. Was redecorated a couple of years ago and now seems more open within. Service was good as was the dishes we ate. Good sized portions on main course. Well worth a visit. Gwill be returning soon.

We stayed in Sutton Holiday inn and on recommendation, we were advised to try this place out. Highly impressed by the variation of 55 spices they used in one oftheir house speciality dish. Never had anything of that kind before. Husband fell in love with their dish called Jhaurri Chicken. Such a pity we dont live local. I wish they could deliver to Bournmouth. We will HAVE to come back again. Cannot get over their prawn Madurai :....

The entire order was stone cold and took ages to arrive. Also the delivery driver said the needed a signature from the card holder. We've never had to provide one to any other restaurant.

Starters were lovely. Mains tasty and flavoursome. The delivery guy advised we must add the rice next time. He had seen foresight that we had forgotten so were impressed with the delivery service!

Well an hour and a half later I'm still waiting When I called the restaurant they told me it had been despatched 15 minutes ago, that was 15 minutes ago. Lots of apologies but still no food I want my money back

Meal was fine but arrived believe it or not too early therefore had to sit and get cold. Requested our beers that we were entitled to but did not arrive.

I've had the shahi lamb masala a few times now. This one was slightly different from the others, perhaps different chef. However it's still an incredibly tasty dish.

Took a little longer to arrive than normal - just over an hour, but it was a Friday night. Well worth the wait though, lovely meal and we would definitely order from there again.

First of all, the earlier review mentioning the size of the bhajis is spot on! Onion boulders!! Nice, tasty, not dry. Really good. Went for a meat vindaloo, and it was amazing. Huge portions of meat, really nice sauce. Right mix of fiery heat and flavour. Loved it. Knocked off two stars for delivery time, as was a collection order, and I still had to wait about 5 mins on arrival. Lovely place, nice staff, great food. I'll be back! Cheers.

Our booking for six people at 7.30 on Friday night was made more than a week in advance. When we arrived, they had no record of it. We should've taken the hint and left then!! However, despite various other tables being (and remaining) empty, the staff hastily pulled a couple of tables together and we sat down. We waited half an hour for our first drinks to come to the table. When we requested another bottle of wine, they said they had run out and could we choose something else! Eventually, some time after 9,00pm, a waiter arrived to take our food order. We watched other people arrive and get served while we were still waiting!. When the food did get to the table, it wasn't bad. Someone - who said he wasn't actually the manager, came to the table to apologise and offer us all a brandy as compensation. The excuse was "the telephone kept ringing" and it seems, no one had the nous to realise that paying customers waiting for service in the restaurant should take priority over phone calls. We declined the offer of brandy and, believe me, we wont be going back.

We keep coming back to this place, great food and chilled ambience off the bustling Sutton high street.Staff can be a little bit of a let down with service but the food makes up for it!We used to go all the time when living down the road and even though we now live further away we still make the trip as we know the quality!

Used to go directly when I lived Sutton was back for the weekend to see family and friends . So decided to pop into one of my old favourite restaurant for a bite to eat . Just not what used to be . The servicewas slow . The food was very oversalted . And just not as good as it used to be

I've been a regular since moving here in 2006, never had a bad experience including home delivery. The renovation a couple of years ago moved the décor upmarket and compressed a ridiculously massive menu bit weirdly reduced the amount of toilet facilities.The food is always fresh and tasty, no evidence of dubious food sources either, I always recommend the Noor Jahan to my friends.You can't say better than that!

Food was good, better than our usual Indian takeaway. Delivery was a little slow at just over an hour but they did apologise for that and I feel it was worth the wait. Not sure you can really give a rating for service when ordering for delivery but it did all come in a nice box instead of the usual plastic bag!

Having frequented this restaurant both to eat in and for home delivery there has, over the last year, been a definite drop in both the quality of food and the level of service.Food more recently is most definitely touch and go, ranging from completely bland and spongey chicken to mouth-burning hot and overcooked. Today i had the pleasure of one dish of each! Staff who take delivery orders on the phone are rude and rush you off the phone, so much so that THEY 'forget' to note that you've asked for the special offer drinks they advertise with certain levels of spending. On calling to complain about this i have been told they must have misheard what i was asking, they didn't hear that i asked, they must have forgotten to add it, outright told me i never asked and the most insulting, theyre driver is a muslim and cannot carry alcohol! Restaurant quite nice inside after being returned a couple of years ago but shame everything else hasn't kept up!After multiple disappointments on all fronts I am most definitely looking for a new local Indian restaurant!

Food was too salty, after I told them no added salt, the chicken was chewy. Taste of sauce was nice, but after what I saw of the kitchen when the door opened, i felt sick, (but still I paid £20, was really hungry :(Though how many restaurants are clean now a days ??

Had a amazing meal with my family excellent food and very attentive staff. Fully recommend visiting this small stylishly decorated restaurant hidden away in sutton. I was also impressed to hear from the waiters that they are one of the oldest indian restaurants in the uk..

Been going here on and off for several years. I have observed that the level of service and quality of food is inconsistent at the best of times - all is well if you choose to dine in on a quiet night, but all their staff seem to go into "panic mode" if they start getting very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings, whether you dine in or get a takeaway. A small compensation for delays is the free beer when you spend over £10 on a takeaway which is a nice touch.I think my last experience of Noor Jahan sums it up really. I ordered one of the house specials, the Murghi Masala. I arrived 10 minutes later, the restaurant was empty, the waiters ignored me even though I've been there several times over the years, the manager even barked "Murghi Masala" at the chef through the door, presented me with the food in a bag, and then when I got home, it turned out to be a chicken korma.

Average Indian selling usual Indian food. Food is nice, average Indian.Not amazing, but then not bad. I've noticed that the quality of the food is inconsistent and does vary greatly depending on what night you order. I've had some really nice Indian food from there recently, but then on other nights the food tastes cold, sauce is bland. The service is always good.
