Wasn't happy with the body language and subtle signalling from the lady serving. When someone is passive aggressive in their responses or lack there of, it does not make you feel welcome. If you know you know, but this place isn't for US. I left and got my food elsewhere.

First time we have purchased from Nobbies for a long time. Fish and chips very good and cooked to order.

Excellent as usual. I had fish and chips. Cod cooked just right lovly crispy batter. Chips a traditionally fish n chip shop, type. All delicious. It was good to see my small chips was, just that. As in the past the portions were too big. I found it a tummy busting challenge to finish. Now I'm comfortably full. Grate service,friendly and efficient. You won't be disappointed getting food here.

Persistantly and consistently lovely! No matter what you order. Fish, sausages, burger always great. Chips always fresh NEVER refried!!! Great service always. And place is immaculate.

Fish are very dry, looks the feozen from iceland. Chips recooked.

Disgusting customer service. They got my order wrong and I had to drive back to then be told that I should have known it was too cheap for what I ordered! After saying she didn’t read back my order so I wouldn’t know that she had heard me wrong, I paid for the extra I wasn’t given, but she would not replace the now cold chips saying she can’t give away free food. I was giving her the cold chips back to show they were cold. She refused to take any responsibility to not taking my order correctly and said she would only replace one lot of chips. After pointing out I had paid almost £10 for the 2 chips so I wanted them both warm, she then took it on herself to give me my money back for both orders saying I wanted free food- I only wanted what I had paid for- warm! In future, I hope she takes my suggestion of reading back orders, just as I have always had in any other take away I’ve been to. This way she can make sure she doesn’t get any more complaints because not taking the correct order.

Great fish and chips here, the servings could be bigger for the price. Apart from that, very tasty

Needed a local chippy as we had not long arrived at a caravan park we was staying at, ordered a large cod and medium chips, smallest large cod I've ever had and had to wait about 20 mins for the privilege with only myself and one other gentleman waiting. We come to the island atleast once a year but won't use this place again, too expensive for what you get !!

Chips were utterly awful. Soggy, undercooked and tastless. It was also dam expensive. Only reason it's not 1 star was that the plaice was reasonable.

Possibly the best piece of cod I can remember eating since forever! The batter was like a tempura style, very thin and crispy. The only let down was quite a long wait, but to be fair it was busy and everything was cooked fresh to order.

Chips are rank god knows what u cook them in and some them so hard ur brake a tooth getting thro them

Food has always been good the 6-7 years we've been going there. Never an issue, never anything bad to say about the place. Run by lovely people too

Disappointed. Don't usually use Nobbies and won't again. We have walked to the shop, ordered and paid for the food with my daughter. When it was ready I asked for a bag as we had to walk 2 miles home and she said it would cost 10p and can't take a card. She never to thought to ask if I'd need a bag with my daughter on her scooter. To top it off the childs menu cardboard box fell apart from the steam of the food after 5 minutes walking and you can see below the state of the bag with the oil that I had to hold in my hands. As for the food, very oily and bland, would expect cheaper for the quality. Take this review for what it is, I'm slightly peeved but the food wasn't great, i will stick to the coastguard cafe just around the corner.

Absolutely superb fish and chips, best on Hayling island

Would definitely recommend this little place if you're visiting the area. We stopped nearby and was tied between choosing this one and another chip shop but so glad we went here!!!!!!! Great portion sizes, fresh cod and cod roe. Clean inside and the lady was very friendly. A little longer than I wanted to wait but considering how fresh the food was I guess this was why. Definitely return if I come back to the area.

New layout is fine but the prices already show the expected increases. The addition of a Sainsbury's store is great and I hope that is a success.

Fish and chips may be ok but you have to wait at least 30 minutes for anything. I only ordered sausage and chips and it took forever. Very inefficient indeed! It was a Friday night and there was only two members of staff, don't know what it's like on other occasions.

I have paid £7.50 for medium fish and chips and the fish was very very small and chips was Greasy, the most annoying part was they have literally wrapped my fish and chips in a paper rather then a box and all my food was stuck with paper i have to peel it off, it's ridiculous, people paying this sort of money and they don't even serve you a take away box!!!!, never ever again

Perfect Cod and Chips, couldn't fault it!

We arrived at 8pm. The shop closing time was 9pm. We ordered fish and chips x 2. No-one else was in attendance so we expected good service and good food as some of the reviews on line were very good. It took about 15 minutes for the food to be prepared which was OK as we expected all the food to be fresh. When we arrived home and unwrapped the food it was almost immediately obvious that the chips had just been re heated. They were very rubbery and almost inedible. The fish was OK but the batter was VERY greasy. Service OK. We will not be going back

6/5 for consistency and portion size (chips). Limited parking outside but right opposite a large P facility. Mask up and enjoy!

Cold mushy peas. Dry powdery chips and the thinnest piece of haddock I've ever been served. Threw the cold peas away , fed chips to the sea gulls ,ate the haddock which tasted as if the oil was too hot when the fish went in .very very disappointing we drove 165 miles and decided not to stop anywhere else as we had been here before and the food was wonderful .perhaps because the shop was about to close? We couldn't return our good for the same reason they were closing .since lockdown or vovid began take away food seems to be losing its quality .

Not the best and not the worst. Order 2 large fish & chips and fry cheese and get 2 large fish & chips and hashbrown. Probably would not go there again and try different fish &chips at the sea side.

Very good fish crispy batter and chunky soft chips order by phone and pick up when told 10 minutes means 10 minutes they serve/wrap it as soon as you arrive don't be late you'll get told off 😉 in a good way.

Extremely greasy even though I asked pacifically for chips to be drained for a while before she wrap them up. She was very rude mumbled something about the being open for 40 odd years gave me a chip to try proving not greasy we'll look at the grease all over the wrapping and my fingers discussing won't use them again I now feel sick. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. No wonder they were empty when dead giveaway that empty fish and chip shop I should have known.
