I went here with a friend for a lunch break while visiting Bristol. It seemed quiet but we didn't realise that there were two other rooms, so it would be great for a group or a large party of people. Service was great, despite the fact that we couldn't use the QR code to order or pay. Staff were really friendly and didn't mind explaining the menu. We both chose the Sunflower bento box which turned out to be delicious. I've had Japanese style food from chain restaurants but this was so much more flavourful and different. I'd definitely go there again the next time I'm in Bristol. As an aside, I love the washbasin in the ladies!!

Went for dinner and had loads of unbelievable dishes would highly reccomend for authentic Japanese food. Especially would reccomend the tuna seaweed rolls aswell as the Katsu curry.

Great quality sushi which is hard to find in Bristol! We ordered on Deliveroo and they added an extra box of crispy tuna for free! Only negative to say is I thought the nigiri pieces were too large, but great tasting sushi and very fresh ingredients!

Agreeable small apparently Japanese-run restaurant in Waterloo Street, Clifton, in the heart of Bristol’s Chelsea. We enjoyed excellent salmon and tuna maki, salmon sashimi and a spicy salmon roll. The bill came to a reasonable £23.54 for two. Well done on the absence of intrusive ‘background music’. Recommended.

They add a 10% service charge which the unpleasant manager seems to think is mandatory. I asked if I could pay in cash as I wanted to give to waitress direct and manager got very funny with me. Food was ok, very overpriced. £5odd for a very small bowl of edamame beans, come on Izakaya much nicer food and friendlier staff

Quality of food well below average, for the price they ask it’s not worth it at all… All of us got heartburn after the spicy sushi set ( we ordered the same) and were never offered water when we sat down. Also they mixed up our take away order… Not coming back…

Very very nice. Strange how quiet it was in there, as deliveroo after deliveroo arrived. Really friendly, good service and fantastic food. The sushi was fresh and everything was lovely. Had veg sushi board, crispy teryaki beef. YUM Would 100% come again very soon

We have eaten here a few times to get our ‘sushi fix’. The reviews are really mixed and I can’t decide whether it’s because customers are difficult or Noa has off days. Our experience today was excellent. Service was good, and food superb - what’s there not to like? The staff are Japanese, so culturally maybe less warm than Europeans but never the less hospitable. We regularly travel to South Africa where sushi is almost a staple diet and quality is difficult to beat, Noa produces equally excellent Japanese style cuisine. Maybe not the cheapest but you tend to get what you pay for. We happened to sit near the exit and not one departing customer didn’t comment to the maitre d’ on the excellent food. If you are a technophobe you may not like it as you need to scan a bar code and order via your phone but it works really well and is slick. I am critical of hospitality establishments that fail to deliver but can’t say anything derogatory about Noa.

Disgraceful customer service! The three of us ordered via the QR code as requested, but there was an error on my friend’s phone. When my friend called the waitress over to ask she was quite abrupt and started touching the screen (NOT covid friendly) When the food started coming out we quickly realised that my friend’s food had been ordered twice so she instantly told the waitress who only responded the kitchen had already cooked it and we would have to take it. We explained we did not want it, and would not eat it but she grew increasingly angry and aggressive with us and started insisting it wasn’t her fault, and that we ordered it so we would have to pay for it. Still shocked how much she argued with us, but eventually she agreed not to force us to have the extra food and then stormed into the kitchen and started shouting quite loudly we could hear quite clearly in the restaurant. The atmosphere after that was so tense and awful, we half expected her to try and charge us when we asked for the bill. Thankfully she didn’t but there was a laughable enforced “service” charge added -_- I simply didn’t have the patience to argue it, we just needed to leave at that point. Will never be returning, which is a shame because the food was nice. We’ve often ordered take out from here also but after what happened today we will no longer be giving them our custom.

Para empezar, pedimos sushi, sashimi y fideos udon de pollo, con pollo frito, bolas de pulpo y verduras en tempura. cada plato me voló la cabeza, terminamos hasta la última cosa a pesar de que todavía estábamos llenos por el desayuno. no hubo sabores desagradables, cada parte de nuestra comida se preparó cuidadosamente y se combinó con una salsa deliciosa única. Esperamos la comida durante 2 horas y media y ni siquiera llegó a juntarse sino por separado con al menos 20 minutos entre cada plato. Pedimos salsa de acompañamiento en numerosas ocasiones, pero nos ignoraron hasta que uno de nosotros se levantó para sacarla de la caja, pero nos enviaron con las manos vacías porque la señora de la caja solo "se ocupaba de las bebidas". El personal era extremadamente poco profesional, gritaban al cliente y entre ellos. También fueron muy despectivos con nosotros cuando cortésmente les pedimos algo. Cuando finalmente obtuvimos la mayoría de nuestra comida, les pedimos que cancelaran lo que no obtuvimos y estábamos listos para pagar e irnos, pero la señora se tomó al menos 30 minutos para tomar nuestro pago y cuando le informamos que no tomó el pago. platos que no recibimos de la cuenta nos gritó groseramente y dijo “es porque estamos ocupados, por lo menos despejé una mesa para ti cuando viniste”, básicamente diciendo que deberíamos estar agradecidos de tener una mesa cuando llegamos. También le pedimos que cancelara el cargo por servicio ya que no sentíamos que obtuviéramos el servicio que hubiéramos pagado, pero nuevamente el gerente nos gritó y no tuvo reparos en lanzarnos insultos en la cara. Si pudiera dar una calificación de cero, lo haríaEn general, fue estresante comer y no recomendamos este restaurante a nadie. No fue más que una pérdida de energía, tiempo y dinero.

Esto resulta en la eliminación de toda la atmósfera.La comida era normal, no cabe duda de que no es la calidad que esperábamos. Comí allí un miércoles. Teníamos una reserva para 7. 45 y no vi comida a las 8. 39 a pesar de haber pedido puntualmente. Cuando pregunté dónde estaba nuestra comida, nos dijeron que había 9 delante de nosotros. En ese momento nos íbamos a ir y dijeron que prepararían nuestra comida de inmediato. Tiene esto entregado a través de Deliveroo. Nunca probé aquí anteriormente. Todo entregado a tiempo y empaquetado encantador. La primera vez que probamos takoyaki (bolas de masa de pulpo) me gustaron bastante, un poco dulces. La tempura de gambas estaba bien, necesitaba una salsa. El sushi de salmón picante era bueno, un poco de picante. El pollo teriyaki estaba un poco empapado, pero esto probablemente se espera con una entrega, aunque sabía bien. El pollo goyza estaba delicioso. ¿Volveríamos a comer allí? Probablemente.

It’s Japanese restaurant with mainly sushi and not many choices for ramen and teriyaki mains. The food is tasteless and just smothered in soy sauce. Between the family of 3, we consumed two big bottles of water because we were so thirsty from the amount of soy sauce in all the food. There are plenty waitresses in the restaurant but they are mostly Uni students with no experience or skill in being attentive to customers and they were all busy rushing. There is also 10% service added to the bill which isn’t matched to the lack of service I received. I definitely won’t go back again!

We were struggling a bit to find somewhere to eat having not booked anywhere for our first night in Bristol. We found Noa and though we’d give it a go. The app ordering thing was a bit odd but soon got the hang of it. The good came quickly and was tasty and good quality. The salmon sashimi was melt in the mouth delicious and the scallop nigiri and the miso aubergine were also excellent. All in all and good experience. Thank you

Bear with me while I tell you the many reasons I’ve had to write this review. Encouraged to see Noa listed on the government ‘Eat out to Help out’ I booked via telephone to go last night (Tuesday) and when I showed up with my family we were told they were closed, and always are on a Tuesday! Disappointed we rebooked for this evening.We arrive and all is well. There is sanitiser on a table by the entrance and when my husband went to fill in the contact book for the ‘track and trace’ system we were told they’d bring the book to our table. Needless to say we didn’t see the book again during the two hours we were there. And the book was not presented or completed by any of the many people who came into the restaurant.We told to scan a code on our phones for the menu, once connected on their WiFi. It took over 10 minutes to get the WiFi to work. It kept dropping out. We finally managed to order and our food and drinks arrived very quickly.In the meantime the restaurant quickly filled up and many delivery drivers came and went collecting table aways.We soon discovered we had under ordered so tried to add more food, and drinks (it was 30 degrees with no aircon) but I was unable to get on the WiFi. We noticed many customers were also unable to order and the staff were handing out paper menus. But sadly orders were not quickly taken. I finally managed to get a waitress to our table and told her we weren’t able to get on the WiFi so she took our order manually.Then we waited, and waited. Over 45 minutes in fact. Whilst the two very stressed waitresses were being screamed at by the manageress. This manageress also went into the kitchen and screamed various things to the staff inside. Deliveries were coming out of the kitchen but little or no food for the restaurant clients.The poor waitresses were being overwhelmed with complaining customers and people were queuing outside for precooked tables. People were eventually bought in but sat at tables that had not been cleared or cleaned.After watching this comedy of errors for an age we asked how long our food would be and discovered the order had not been taken to the kitchen. So we asked for our bill in desperation to get out. Customers were walking out, some where told they couldn’t pay by card and had to go out and go out to get cash. My husband queued to pay while I waited outside with our daughter. We then saw the manageress with anger issues chase after someone in the street who refused to pay an extra £4.60 over their bill due to terrible service! My husband finally paid, by card!! and when he asked for his receipt he was refused one! I am convinced we were not awarded the government scheme discount and overpaid.The whole this was shambolic for service and organisation let alone any of the guidelines required for the Covid 19 pandemic.I would avoid at all costs!!!!!

Firstly I tried to book on the phone for just myself. The person who answered the phone, which I assume the manageress, very rudely shouted ‘no booking, we are busy’ and hung up. I was so crossed how rude she was. I would understand that they don’t accept a booking for just one person, but she could have said nicely. Then coincedentally a group of my friends organized a meal there and invited me, so I went along. The service was very slow. One of us didn’t order a starter, and she had to wait for an hour and a half for her food, while a couple who came before us received their food. When her food was finally served, only she found was that it was a wrong order, however she ate it as she was so hungry after waiting for so long. The food I had was teriyaki and it was not Japanese dish at all. I do not recommend to anyone to go there.

Found this place via trip advisor on a one night stay in Bristol (Clifton). Very welcoming with a brilliant ordering system - via a scan an order system sounds intimidating but quick easy and efficient - so much easier than trying to catch a waiter's eye. The staff were great however and very willing to help and give advice. The food was lovely we had (amongst other items) tuna Sashimi, vegetable Tempura, and crispy sushi - which was an absolute star. There were so many other things on the menu that looked great.

When St Nics market is doing better Japanese food than a dedicated restaurant, something is not right. The 'crispy' beef teriyaki wasn't crispy and the appetisers were average. Service was poor, the staff just look down all the down so they're never looking for people's attention.

The first thing to say is Noa has been around a long time. Lord knows how? As there have been many a night in days gone by when I passed this place and saw that it was deserted. But it has clung on - and now with a fresh lick of paint and brighter look to make it look a little more inviting, it warranted a new visit.Bravo to the chef. The food was excellent. The tempura was crisp, the sushi and sashimi was splendid, the seaweed salad perfect, and the main courses - I had the teriyaki beef - was excellent.The service is still a little patchy. The waitress tried to get us to order everything at the same time because "the kitchen was busy". I declined, as we were ordering quite a lot and we didn't want everything piling up on the table. Besides, we weren't in a rush. But overall it was a god experience. And we'll go again.

Comida muy normal; el cangrejo de caparazón blando tenía un 95% de masa y tenía muy poco sabor. Además de esto, el servicio era deficiente. La comida en Noa es increíble! Esa es la única razón por la que volvimos. Sin embargo, a pesar de que el personal de servicio fue educado, el gerente es extremadamente grosero y lo único que le importa es hacerle gastar dinero sin razón. Por ejemplo: una vez fuimos y pedimos comida que era más que suficiente y ella dijo que no era suficiente para dos personas. Afortunadamente, no pedimos más ya que no pudimos comer más. Esta noche, una vez más, nos preguntaron si queríamos algo más y cuando dijimos que no, la expresión de su rostro era irreal. Además, la otra cosa que no me gusta es que el personal nos miraba como si quisieran que nos fuéramos. Siempre me pregunto por qué el restaurante está tan vacío cuando la comida es tan buena. Bueno ahora lo entiendo! Hay que hacer algo ya que es una pena! Cambie su actitud hacia las personas que eligen comer en su establecimiento.

The food here was nice.. A couple of gripes about this place hence the 3 stars. We ordered 5 starters and 3 means and the waitress was advising us that this isn't enough food. I'm glad we didn't listed to her as it was more than enough, we couldn't finish it.The only serve Katsu curry during the day, yet when I called to book they advised me they have curries, on arrival they had no curries for an evening meal.The tempura prawns & gyoza was very nice...

Después de pedir 70 de comida para 2 camarera preguntó si no teníamos hambre, ya que ella sugirió que pedir más. Ella fue muy agresiva y grosera siguió pidiéndonos que pidiéramos más, luego agregó un diez por ciento de cargo por servicio incluso en la comida para llevar que compramos para mi pareja en casa. Una agradable y sabrosa cena familiar japonesa en Bristol, donde hay una selección limitada de restaurantes japoneses. Las comidas preparadas, sushi y sashimi, panecillos, tempura de gambas y teriyaki de salmón eran sabrosos y bien presentados, complementados con un refrescante té de arroz integral. ¡Noa es uno de los mejores restaurantes japoneses en Bristol si alguien busca replicar su experiencia culinaria después de regresar de ver el rugby en Japón! ?????

Food quality is good, sushis are fresh and nicely dished out (even if a little bit pricey compared to other restaurants providing the same level of quality). However, service needs a big improvement. Rude restaurant manager keeping scolding inexperienced waiter in front of guests and unkind attitude with customers wanting to choose their own seat in an empty restaurant at closing time.So I can’t recommend it. Having dinner outside is not all about food, politeness and conviviality matter a lot too.

Food is nothing special, but nice and not too expensive for Clifton. Service is a bit hit and miss: sometimes it's really fast but other times it is painfully slow. Main problem seems to be that when they are short on staff, they keep doing takeaway orders. Staff got really angry with us when we suggested that we shouldn't pay the service charge as we waited for about 2 hours for our food.

The food here is excellent, everything is very fresh. I had an excellent Salmon tartare which was beautifully flavored and presented, along with tempura prawns with an incredibly light tempura as well as yellow fin tuna ceviche, beautiful ceviche sauce along with lovely seweed accompaniment.

Good food but completely let down by service and atmosphere. We were sat late even though we’d booked and it was uncomfortably cold. The service was slow and we didn’t get our starters for over an hour. When my starter did finally arrive, my partner’s hadn’t and by the time I’d finished, his had only just come out. Throughout the night the rest of our food came randomly so we didn’t really eat together and on a couple of occasions I needed to remind them that we were still missing dishes. Delivery drivers came and were served before us. To top it off the food was expensive. In all I felt down, cold and hungry for what was meant to be a lovely romantic evening out. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

We made a booking for 7.30pm upon arrival we said we had a booking, without even asking for our booking details, they pointed to a table directly next to the main door. We asked if we could have a table away from the constant opening and closing with deliveryroo drivers waiting for a order pickup. What was the point in making a booking?

I was really struggling to find somewhere nice which was open on a Sunday evening. Found Noa Japanese and was a bit worried it might not be brilliant. But it was. The waitresses were extremely polite and friendly and the food was really delicious. One of our party asked if the puddings were pre-made by another company, before she ordered. The waitress looked surprised and explained that everything was made on-site, which included the green tea ice-cream. Recommendations - teriyaki everything, sushis, sashimis and tataki - I think that's how it's spelt. It was a delicious beef dish. Decor was quite simple and outside didn't look all that appealing - but we enjoyed our meal and would go again. Thank you. p.s. Website doesn't seem to be working - only a link to Deliveroo, because you can get food delivered...

I’ve often walked past this restaurant not really giving it a second thought. Today however my wife and I fancied some sushi so went in to this Japanese/sushi restaurant for lunch and what a surprise. Delightful staff, excellent food great service. We had a selection of small dishes all of which were well presented and very tasty.

Best Japanese restaurant in Bristol! Delicious sushi with a wide ranging menu. Reasonably priced and quick, attentive service. We had the brown rice tea, with hot water topped up for free. Delicious mochi balls for dessert. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Acabo de visitar este restaurante para una cena de viernes por la noche con mi pareja. Vivió en Japón durante 2 años y estábamos ansiosos por nuestra visita. En primer lugar, el personal parecía muy distraído y desatento. Cuando visité a las damas, pude oír cómo el personal se gritaba desde la cocina. No es muy relajante. El ambiente se sentía sofocado y los camareros estaban nerviosos. Nuestra comida llegó en momentos diferentes, por lo que no pudimos comer juntos y no se nos preguntó si la comida estaba bien. El plato que mi compañero pidió era un plato chino, no japonés. Nos dijeron que estaban cocinando para el "sabor europeo" cuando los desafiamos. Cuando cuestionamos la comida, el personal se puso histérico. No es una buena experiencia y, lamentablemente, nunca volveremos a visitarnos y le recomendamos que no pierda su tiempo yendo allí.

Had a fantastic meal of a variety of hot and cold dishes - sushi, tempura calamari, beef teriyaki, squid balls, sashimi and seafood noodles. Food came out quick (although the restaurant was quiet) and the staff were very attentive, taking great care of us. Some of the best tuna sashimi I've ever had! It isn't cheap but definitely worth it! Would love to eat here every week if I could!

My friends and I were craving for Japanese food, and we found Noa on the internet. We arrived at the restaurant around 7PM, we mentioned that we did not make any reservation, therefore I assume that the service prioritized the reservations over the drop-ins. The waitress mentioned that the food would take up to 30 minutes before we would get served. After ordering, we waited one hour. No food. Two hours, no food. It was a bit weird because the restaurant was barely full, so how can The dishes arrived one by one, which annoyed us because we couldn't start eating together. The waitress messed up our orders as well, and we did not get everything we ordered. Nevertheless, the staff was kind and the food was excellent. The waiting time was a huge turn off; If this is due to shortage of staff, it is totally understandable. But I do not think that I would come back after this experience.

I went to Noa for a casual meal with friends and it really didn't disappoint. There was a calm and relaxed atmosphere on arrival, and the staff made us feel really welcome, and had plenty of recommendations for the best things to order. I tried; prawn gyoza, avocado maki, soft shell crab rolls, and beef teriyaki. The avocado maki is always a firm favourite but I highly recommend the crab rolls, they were delicious. If you like sushi and you're in the Bristol area this is a must visit.

I have been at Noa a few times now and I really have enjoyed all the different dishes I have tried. They are full of flavours without being heavy. I always go away satisfied. And the staff is very nice too, which adds value to the place. I should add they have also brown rice tea which makes te whole meal healthier.

I visited Noa last night for the first time following in from a recommendation and was really impressed. We went for the set menu B and could not fault any of the dishes. The tempura and chicken karaage came out fresh, piping hot and tasty. The sushi and sashimi were fresh and delicious and the black miso cod was melt-in-the-mouth and to die for. It ended with a seafood udon noodle dish - just perfect. The service was great too. I’d definitely go back.

The food was wonderful - we’re big sushi fans so we’re not hard to please in a Japanese restaurant. I highly recommend the crunchy rolls and spicy rolls - a nice authentic spin on usual sushi. Not too pricy either considering it’s in the middle of Clifton.

The restaurant is great for value. My friend's Japanese acquaintance recommended this place and it didn't disappoint us. Soft shell crab roll and the classic roll have become our default sharing menu. The manager of the restaurant and the chef are very nice and we often get complimentary. I think it is a great value eatery.

So pleased to find this place. It is defiantly worth the money and the trip from Bath. The tempura batter the best I have had in a restaurant in this country and really nice to see you can have four or eight pieces of rolls so you can try lots of different types. Can’t wait to return with our kids who love sushi next time. Great to see trip advisor reviews are in this restaurant accurate a fabulous place great service and amazing food. my daughter and I have been to Noa three times in the last month because we just can't resist going back! the food is delicious and all tastes extremely fresh. Our favourites are the tempura (perfect batter, light and crisp), the crunchy rolls and the soft crab rolls. but all the other dishes we have tried are also good. Each time we have been, the same waitress has served us and has been friendly, attentive and efficient. Thank you for three very good lunches - we will be back!!

I'm going to say in no way is the food bad, overall the food prices and service is definately 4.5/5. My main issue was the meal I had, was more like Chinese food than japanese. Not a bad thing at all just at the time not what I was wanting. (Also the manager lady was speaking chinese to the staff, as I speak japanese and Korean and I couldn't do my normal listening in. Which would lead me to believe the chefs might be chinese as well)

Always excellent in any country. Did the recipes seem a little less seasoned than at W in London and Amsterdam? However location of this is in the center of Bristol. Always a nice environment and even if it was very crowded it was easy to talk in the group. Practical tables with hooks to hang bags underneath (unfortunately I discovered them at the end of the meal🙄😬), and there is also a shelf in the hidden space for bags and maybe a small jacket. Super helpful and present staff; ordering was quick and easy, and very attentive to those with allergies - a manager arrived at our table and checked each dish to see if it was ok for the guest. Spotless bathrooms. Excellent food and prepared with espresso so it doesn't necessarily respect the anti-first-meal-second structure but that's fine. Sharing and recommended! Power drinks fantastic.

This place was BUSY!!! You could tell it’s a neighborhood favorite. We decided to wait to wait for a table. Boy are we glad we did! The ramen dishes were so flavorful. We went to go back later in the week and it looked like they were temporarily closed to mentally regroup. Props to yall and much respect for doing so. 🤍

I used to order from Tuk tuck thru Deliveroo and always loved it. Pad thai and dumplings are my personal favorite and I have ordered them for like many times. Yesterday we wanna try eat in and went to their restaurant and ordered all our favorites. And found a hair in pad thai along with noodles 🥺😒 we informed the waitress, they didn't react much as it seems like regular thing. Never apologized and took our plates silently. Didn't expected this and left the place disappointed. Will never visit tuk tuck or order a take away, you lost me Tuk Tuck. Definitely need to improve your hygiene standards and servicing skills.

I feel like they must have paid for reviews as the food was shocking. My ramen was bland and tasteless while my bfs food was burnt and pretty inedible. We were served meat gyozas instead of veggie and by the time they brought out the vegetarian ones I was over the whole experience. Edamame was stone cold and not edible - basically paid a lot of money for food I couldn’t eat. Wouldn’t recommend.

Wizzy is providing lunches until it closes on June 22! If you check their Instagram account before you go, you’ll know if there is lunch that day. As for dinner, it is available in two seatings every Friday and Saturday. The hours are incorrect. The lunch timings are roughly 12:30-13:30 but food may run out faster on some days. The lunch box is just £4.5 and you get generous portions and many options, different every day. It’s nourishing and delicious at the same time, honestly the highlight of my days working in the office! The dinner’s portions are huge as well, with so many courses. I’d recommend going there with others, but for lunch, it’s nice to go by yourself as well and have a chat with Wizzy who always has lots of insights to share about food, the environment, and her philosophy!
