An average Costa, what more can one say. Adequate coffee and snacks. Go into any Costa and you could be on any other. Best described as "uninspired convenience".

Coffee was ok. Food was ok. Service was ok ish. Tables dirty. Staff stood around on their mobile phones. I scanned the app after adding a 25% off food reward and scanned it again to get my Birthday Treat reward; well, neither rewards worked and I had to pay full price. When I mentioned it to the lady serving me I was told I didn't load the rewards properly ... I did!!! I was told there was nothing they could do, and I would have to visit Costa again before the expiry date to use my rewards and make sure I load them properly! Rude! I did load them properly, but for some reason they didn't work at the till ... not my fault. Not very helpful! And I wont be visiting Costas for a long time if this is the service you get!

If you enjoy being abused and coffee that tastes like urine, this is the Costa for you! After visiting many Costas around the UK with pleasant experiences, we unfortunately decided to try the coffee here at this nightmare franchise. The only thing worse than the coffee was the unreasonably aggressive and poorly mannered store manager, Liam. If you are looking to get a coffee in this cute, small town, I would recommend trying literally anywhere else.

There needs to be more vegan options but also please us the paper sleeves on the cups twice now I have burnt my fingers carrying the cups.

Lovely coffee, nice relaxing music and only one member of staff on and she was helpful and polite to all the customers who came in, including myself. A credit to Costa!

Nice centre but totally dead on a Sunday afternoon

Well the refurb is great but certain staff members needs training in customer services went in this morning for a coffee was told £2.80 with no please or thankyou . Didn't realise he was doing a take away so mentioned I was sitting in all I got was you should of mentioned it before which I responded with you didn't ask. Then I got a mumble about something I come in this shop quite a lot but will think again if this young man is on. Can I just say all the ladies who work here and another young Man who's there some times are a always polite and the place is always clean and tidy.

We are visiting Cornwall and called here for a drink. It's a nice cafe which looks to have been completely refurbished with new decoration and seats etc. Friendly and helpful staff make it a nice place for a drink.

Changed the cream for hot chocolate, tastes rank, give 2☆ because they had a redesign and it looks nice but other than that £10 for 2 drinks is a joke. Ow and they've changed staff so I don't get to see my favourite costa employee which normally say hello and are polite, new ones are not approachable! Very rude. Extremely disappointed in costa with todays experience as a very loyal customer I will no long be going here!!!!!!!!!!!

The staff are super friendly however I don't know what happens with the coffee here but 2nd time now and it's virtually undrinkable

Toilets where very dirty, all table had previous customers waste on them and uncleared in the 30mins we where in there. Staff where very slow serving and not overly welcoming.

One of the best costa's by far , Charlie and the team are always friendly and go above and beyond to be helpful they all work so hard even when they have been short staffed and still they always have a smile on their face . Always a happy atmosphere Charlie and the team are a credit to the business.

A quick pit stop today for a coconut cappuccino and a sausage bap and witnessed some awesome, caring customer service. An elderly gentleman customer had some concerns about a text message he had received regarding possible contact with a person affected by Covid. The male barista and a young female colleague checked the info out online for the customer, Googled the number in the text and put his mind at rest about a potential scam message. Truly went above and beyond and both deserve acknowledgement and reward. Come on Costa, recognise these individuals. I understand the batista is due to leave the business soon. I'm sure he will be sorely missed. Well done both. A true asset to the company.

We were freezing cold and needed coffee and great customer service. My dad was reminiscing about going to Launceston College over 60 years ago and we had a tour of the town… but had gotten pretty cold! The guy and lady working in this store this afternoon 5/3/2022 were brilliant. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Over priced and not great quality and small portions. Today I bought a frostino drink and found that the cream was gone off and tasted of cheese. Really poor mark for this costa.

The best premises I have visited so far :) Came in yesterday and was served by Charlie and another person I do not know the name of (something along the line of Alice/Alex/Alec, again didn't quite see name badge) and was greeted by brilliant customer service. The place is like a tardis with very clean toilets and regularly cleared tables, and has views of launceston castle to rear which gave a real good atmosphere. The baristas working made the best coffee I have tasted from any Costa! when I asked their secret they said they were passionate and it was made with love <3. Will definitely be coming back here after the great service I received on my first visit, seems to have a great team of baristas :)

The bacon sarnie I had was very well made, and the tea was OK, but not a strong breakfast tea I requested, otherwise I'd have given No 8 five stars. This is not unusual - most Brits seem to like lighter teas these days, and restaurants & cafes have to go with the flow. It's not easy trading in the present COVID environment, so I wish No 8 well.

Stumbled upon No8 whilst we were strolling around the village. Very friendly staff, the food was delicious and the portion size was bigger than we expected.

Breakfast before a day walking the moors. It beat us!! All ingredients were fresh, well cooked and not greasy. We felt very covid safe but we’re still able to chat to the very friendly owner and efficient cheerful staff. Liked the look of the specials on the wall but didn’t have the time in our short stay to return. Good luck riding out this storm. I hope you’re still there, stronger than ever next time I visit.

Wow - Quality breakfast, great local sausage & bacon, proper sourdough. GF bread & alternative milks available. Lovely coffee. Attentive service. Great adherence to social distancing. Spotlessly clean. Lunch menu looks fab. Opening deli nearby soon. Couldn’t recommend more.

My partner and I stopped off in Launceston for a much needed coffee break during our road trip. No. 8 was the first café we spotted, so we popped in. Bearing in mind, this is during the strange times of Covid 19, so we weren't sure if we would be allowed inside or just have a takeaway coffee only. The staff were very friendly when we approached, we were given the option to sit in or takeaway. We went upstairs and ordered a couple of coffees, both of which were very good. Great to see social distancing measures were in place and PPE was worn by all staff. Very impressed with No 8 and would thoroughly recommend for a coffee stop.

We searched Launceston for a cafe that was open for lunch and were about to leave when we chanced on No.8. With all pandemic procedures in place, we were served quickly and efficiently. My hock eggs Benedict was superb, definitely worth a visit.

No offence to Launceston but pulling in en route home and looking for breakfast my expectations were not high.Boy was I proved wrong, we stumbled across NO8 cafe, what a find.Great food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices, all in all a great find, wish it was nearer to home.Thank you NO8

My friend and I were working in launceston for a few days, and was looking for somewhere to get some breakfast. We happened upon this little gem in westgate street. The staff are very pleasant, there is free wifi available, but advise going upstairs to get the best signal. The food is very yummy, and the scrambled eggs are out of this world! We went in 3 days on the trot and the service and food was the same everytime, A lovely little cafe to visit if you are in the area!

Had coffee/ brunch/ lunch here on several occasions over the past few years when meeting with family/ friends, always made to feel welcome and they're never short of a tasty morsel or two! Good range of coffee's and served well. Usually something a little different on the menu, be that drinks or grub.

We met an old friend here for lunch on a rainy day; he and I traveled as musicians back in the 20th Century and lunched together worldwide for 3 decades; no hesitation in affirming that No.8 gets it right on all levels and compares with the international best in its class; the food is delicious, interesting, beautifully cooked and presented and, delivered promptly, big thank-you to the attentive, attractive and intelligent waiting staff. The drinks menu is more than comprehensive, with WONDERFUL recherché ales. The relaxed Bistroesque ambience manages to be cosy, quaint, funky and airy all at the same time. No 8 offers a choice of dining and coffee tables, comfortable sofas, clean loos, and a spacious vestibule for bicycles and quadrupeds. We sat in the upper snug located at the back, happy that the music was not intrusive as our tastes are Niche and we needed to catch up; I shall certainly visit again.

Was wandering around on an unpleasant day found this place popped in lots of seating so decided to have a late breakfast nice selection and wasn't disappointed lovely breakfast nice local produce

I don't like Mushrooms or Tomatoes so they Usually give me an extra Sausage and Bacon.Best place in Launceston at the minute.The owner runs a very tight ship.Cheers.

Having arrived early for a job in town I decided to go for coffee. The immediate welcome given by the happy and friendly man at the counter was really great. The offer of a different roast was again friendly and not just spat at me. As I sat and drank I was listening to the gentleman's patter with every single customer that came through the door. Costa may be a chain, but with staff like that backing up the quality coffee, events like this morning will brighten many more peoples day.

We found this cafe on a very cold, rainy day-it was warm and welcoming plenty of seating spread over a number of floors. It is waitress service which makes a pleasant change. We had coffee and panini’s which were served with a smile and of good quality and a decent size.

On a cold wet Wednesday in December this little oasis offered hospitality to warm the heart. Cosy, contemporary ambiance with more willing staff on duty than the customer numbers warranted. An extensive beer menu complimented a sumptuous Christmas menu with plenty of variety. Alongside wines, coffees and plenty of lighter bites this deli cafe offers cosy cafe mixed with street side dining and has a secluded back room as well as a private party room upstairs. Definitely, currently the best cafe in Launceston town.

Called in early this morning for breakfast. Cosy atmosphere and pleasant staff. The smashed avocado and poached egg with extra smoked bacon was lovely and the espresso is among the best I've had. Highly recommended.

I was recommended to go her, so took my granddaughter for lunch and was really looking forward to it.

We chose this place for breakfast based on previous reviews and a personal recommendation. In fairness the Eggs Benedict was fine; the vegetarian breakfast however was revolting containing overdone mushrooms and veggie sausages so burnt as to be inedible. The loud funky music hardly made for a relaxing environment and the rap track complete with foul language was totally unacceptable.

Stopped here for breakfast. Very quick service and food was freshly cooked and delicious. Good coffee and welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely return.

Nice hot drink selection worth the money, but food menu is very limited and very overpriced for a cafe.

I stopped here for a sandwich and an iced Americano and everything was delicious. Excellent coffee, wonderful sandwich with tasty, crispy grilled bacon, super-fresh soft bread with a crust and served with the crispiest sautéed new potatoes. Very friendly yet unobtrusive service. Highly recommend this lovely local cafe.

With a very spacious interior that means seating is usually always available and tables and chairs set up in the town square itself, this is a perfect place to sit and watch the world of Launceston go by.

One of the best cappuccinos I have drunk during my visit to the UK! Toasted teacake was lovely too. The lattes were delicious. All drinks served were hot and freshly made and brought to the table by friendly staff.
