As we usually visit Polperro in November or December, most places are closed for the winter so we’ve not had the opportunity to eat here. It was open this evening so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed at all. The food we had was freshly cooked and very tasty. I had chicken fajitas which were amazing, my husband had cod and chips which were delicious too. One of the few places which serve REAL chips not frozen ones. Dog friendly too which is a bonus as we took our golden retriever 👍

Lovely looking Resturant with nice outside seating. We ordered our meals and alarm bells started ringing when all you could hear was the pinging of a microwave. When the food arrived the lasagna top was burnt and you needed a chisel to get into it. One of the meals had peas on it if you could call them peas again overcooked in microwave. To say it was a one off the 2nd lasagna ordered was the same the only meal that’s was passable was the fajitas. When asked if the meal was ok my partner said no both lasagnas were awful to which the waiter replied ohh were they. A good chef would not of sent them out. Such a shame for a prime location.

We called in for a light, late lunch but we weren’t impressed. It was such a shame as we had visited exactly two years before (to the day) & had a lovely lunch with our family. On this occasion I had a pint of San Miguel & my partner a half of cider, then I had a Cornish pasty which came with fries & a side salad. The pasty filling was tasty but I got the impression it had been in a microwave as the pastry was a little moist. My partner had a fish finger sandwich on granary which she clearly didn’t enjoy. The bill was £29.

On a last min holiday to North Cornwall we decided to head to the South Coast a visit Polperro. It wasn’t too busy and after walking around the Harbour we needed lunch so we went here and we’re not disappointed. Excellent paninis and sandwiches. The sandwiches were served on thick cut fresh granary bread with masses of filling, we couldn’t want for better. Our lunch was good value. The service was efficient, polite and friendly. If we were in the area we’d definitely come here again for a bite to eat.

This place was busy on the Saturday but we managed to get in for breakfast on the Sunday. We ordered 2 big breakfasts and coffees. We did ask for poached eggs and were met with a very strange expression. The waiter explained that he didn’t think the chef could do that. I nearly asked if chef new how to boil water but held my tongue. The table behind us had requested proper butter for their toast instead of sachets provided (not sure why). The waitress advised them to walk to the local shop and buy some! The shop didn’t open for another 40 minutes but this response was so comical I didn’t correct her. Surely, the waitress could’ve asked why the provided butter wasn’t acceptable (allergies/dietary)? We sat bemused and waited. Our coffee arrived but my latte was lukewarm at best and very weak. A few minutes later, breakfast arrived and we had a fried egg each. Poaching was clearly beyond the skill of chef. Bacon was shown the pan but not for very long. Fat wasn’t rendered. Sausages were deep fried - a massive pet hate of mine - it just smacks of laziness in the kitchen. Beans were cold. My wife’s hash browns had been stuck together in the fryer, so only one side cooked. We reported these issues to the waitress who apologised but offered no solutions. We paid, left, and didn’t return. To sum up - a shambles

We visit this place for a night of drinks every year when we are in the village. However, this year was awful. The weather was fantastic, which unfortunately showed just how filthy the windows were. The outside was dirty, the empty tables were not cleared and we had to do it ourselves. We had asked the young woman at the bar but it wasn't done. The young man serving at the bar was abdupt and had no conversation. The San Miguel was by some distance the most expensive in the village at £8.25 for a pint and a half. Not the best experience. When you go to a bar or restaurant you want to be made welcome. The two on duty on Thursday night did not do that.

1 star for the waiter as he was just doing his job and the issue wasn’t his fault. Went in here as they had a lot of choice on the menu including a couple of vegan options. I stumbled into this lovely restaurant The Habour Green House. Amazing food, very hospitable and friendly staff specially from Tim and Ellie. They found me a Samsung charger( I know, nowadays everyone uses IPhones but hey I've always been an Android user!) so I could charge up my phone, plus give me free WiFi to use. We’ve just returned to Essex from a magical week’s holiday in and around Polperro! Such a beautiful place with unrivalled views . It’s quite a small establishment but very well maintained and staffed. All of the food we ordered was excellent and extremely well presented and cooked. They were also aware of the needs of our dogs and water . I cannot praise the restaurant higher. It was that good we went back for breakfast on our last day !! An average Costa, what more can one say. Adequate coffee and snacks. Go into any Costa and you could be on any other. Best described as "uninspired convenience".

After visiting my home county of Cornwall in Penzance, I wanted what all Cornish men yearn for a real Cornish pasty so I bought one from a shop that has been trading for 20/30 years and what I tasted was the biggest disappointment I’ve ever had (total rubbish) disgrace to all Cornish pasties, so the next day I went into the deli called the Cornish Hen and bought another pasty and wow it was the best I’ve ever had in Cornwall so I say to all you people who visit Penzance and want the best pasty going visit the Cornish Hen in Penzance you won’t be disappointed

Had a really lovely lunch on Saturday. The food was delicious, the staff were lovely and it had a great ambiance. I've marked it down a star purely on the price of a small lemonade, which at £4.20 feels a bit rich - especially when a small wine was £4.95. What happened to supporting designated drivers?!

This is truly a hidden Gem!! We've came twice for breakfast and have been so impressed!! The atmosphere taking you back to the 1940's is truly an expericence and the breakfast was genuinely the best we have had, anywhere! The two ladies than run it couldn't have been more lovely and inviting (even cooking a sausage for our dog and provided her with treats). We would come back time and time again and would recommend everyone does! If I could have gave it a million stars I would!!

Amazing Sunday lunch with an absolutely beautiful fish dish as an alternative option. Loved it and will definitely be going back soon.
